Hopping for a better situation

Posted by Gr8tful4lyfe on 2012-05-09 10:58:43

I am a 32 yr old mother of 3 who has never been in a situation of desperation such as the one I am about to present to you.  Early last year I worked at a job which paid more than enough money to take care of me and my children.  The problem was that the hours were from 3p-3a, which gave me no time to spend with my kids.  My oldest which is of school age only seen me on tue & Wed, which were my only days off, the rest of her time was spent with my sitter.  My job also had me work holidays and sad to say their birthdays as well.  Soon my daughters grades began to drop and my young children no longer wanted to spend time with me.  They cried for the babysitter and soon started calling me by my first name.  I went to my job and pleaded with them for a schedule change, they declined stating that my personal life wasnt their problem and they have 1000's of people who would love to take my place.  So I was forced to make a decision between money and my kids, I chose my kids.  I quit my job after saving enough money to pay the bills for a couple of months while I search for a job with earlier hours.  I felt this shouldn't be a problem due my previous work experience and my associates degree.  The 3 months I had given my self passed by very quickly without me finding new employment.  Because tax time was approaching and my lease was almost up I decided to use my tax money to find a much cheaper home (unfortunately in a much less appealing neighborhood) and use the rest of the money to pay for rent and utilities for another 3 months.  I have no family who can help me out and my kids father is nowhere around.  I have yet to find employment despite the many interviews and applications I have done.  A truck recently cracked the windshield on my car, my tires are bald, and the engine is going bad.  I cannot afford to fix these things and am now desperate to find a job before I lose my transportation. I would love for a great job lead or even an agency which can help me. A small donation would also help and if you send me your email address, as soon as I get on my feet I am willing to pay it back. For those who read this if u know of some job leads please forward it to me, thank you!!

I need car repairs or a car.

Keep me alive

I am a 48yo male. I have had a heart condition since i was 21. About 15 years ago I went for heart surgery and got a staph infection in my chest. I was in the hospital for months fighting this and was told I would not live. I am lucky to be alive 15 years later. However the staph damaged my heart. It enlarged it and over time I developed heart failure in 2004. Then I became diabetic in 2005. The staph also destroyed bone in my chest. I had to have my sternum removed. I also developed irregular heart beats leaving me dizzy most of the time. This left me disabled on Social Security and medicare. Before this I always work 60 to 100 hours a week. Which also contributed my poor health. In 2008 I had my second heart attack (a minor one). It was actually lucky for me. Doctor installed a defibrillator with pacing technology. My dizzy spells were finally under control. Since then I have been working hard to build strength so I can go back to work and have a normal productive life. My car .. 1996 Chevy Corsica is no longer road worthy. Now I have trouble making appointments to my Cardiologist, primary care Physician and physical therapy. This year i have missed 6 doctors appointments and had to stop all therapy. I also have trouble picking up medication on time so i got with out them sometimes up to a week. I didn't realize how important my car was until i couldn't use it. I get $1500/mo from Social Security. $96 of that goes toward medicare insurance premium. My rent is $500/mo. My medications are $400/mo and that is with prescription help. With out that help my meds are $1476. My utilities run $400/on average. The rest I spend on food, car insurance and medical bills. Other than socks and underwear I have not bought any clothes in 15 years ... nothing. I am asking for any help. Most important i need to get a car or fix my car which needs $2300 in repairs. Exhaust, brakes, bodywork and a windshield. If I have wheels I can finish getting back into shape and work to take care of everything else. If I get the help I need from here I PROMISE when I go back to work I will come back here and help people DOUBLE the amount of help I got. Unfortunately if I don't get help my health will go backwards. I will die within a year or two. I just starting gaining muscles back in my legs and arms I still have a long way to go. I need to get cardiac therapy to make my heart stronger. It isn't something I can do at home because I need to be monitored the whole time. Please help. Time is important I have already lost 5 months of therapy and my legs are getting weaker and i am getting weaker. I beg you. Please. But if prayers are all you can give I will appreciate that also. God Bless you all and your families.

I need money to fix my car to save my life.

Getting a divorce from habitual liar. HELP!

Posted by ThisFamilyNeedsHelp on 2011-12-06 13:58:11

Please help! 37 year old mother of a 5 yr old and a 12 yr old is getting a divorce from my habitual liar husband. I thought I married the man I would spend the rest of my life with, I had planned on only doing it once. I do not work right now. I was doing hair when we met and he wanted me to quit and stay home with our son until he started school. I saw that our relationship was heading downhill and not getting any better and decided I need to go back to school to finish my Bachelor degree in Business Management. I am hoping to finish up by July or October of next year, 2012. I want to open my own business so I can support my wonderful children and give them the things they need and some of the things they want. My 2 children and I, along with our 2 small dogs, had to move in with my mother, uncle, grandmother, and brother. We have been here for a year on Dec 10th and have been separated from my husband that long. He has given me very little money for support in the past year, spent all the tax return, took out a loan on my previously paid off vehicle and spent that money, and ended up getting me in trouble with a bad check to our previous landlord. We had a 2007 Dodge Ram Quad cab, I was primary on the loan, he was secondary, and he said he was trading it in for a Chevy Equinox, better gas mileage and cheaper payments. this was 3 months ago. I am now realizing, how can you trade in a vehicle when the other person on the loan never signed the papers? So now I have people calling me saying they are coming after me for the Dodge truck. I have no clue what I'm going to have to or be able to do on that.

He put a bunch of our stuff in storage when we separated, we moved to Missouri with my mom and he moved in with a friend in Iowa and then LOST it, so I don't have a lot of stuff I've worked for and had before we even met. The list of stuff he lost...5 seat sectional with chaise lounger, 37" flat screen tv, PS2 and about 12 games, Wii and 2 games, new surround sound, 5 disc stereo system, new bluray player, box of my season dvds like Smallville, Friends, One Tree Hill and ER, a huge box of my Disney VHS that I had been collecting since high school, nice new short entertainment center, 2 end tables, 2 lamps, washer and dryer, refrigerator, tall dining table with chairs, vacuum, electric can opener, butcher block knife set, corelware dishes, stainless steel pots and pan set, toaster, king bed, bookcase, desk, riding lawnmower, 2 weed eaters, etc. I probably could keep going.

I'm living on the good will and love my family offers and my small student loan refunds. I get NO child support. I am looking to pay off $15,000 in student loans, the $6200 loan on my Tahoe, the $1100 bad check and a couple hundred in lawyer fees, and the $1,400 Target Visa he ran up and let go bad. I need 4 new tires, an alignment, and a new windshield on the Tahoe. I would like to build my children and I a house in the next 3-4 years.

My goals...
~ Finish my BSBA in Management, end of 2012.
~ Thinking about getting my MBA.
~ Open my business, if you are interested I can tell you about it. Looking for potential investors. Working toward fall of 2012, may have to be fall of 2013.
~ Build my kids and I a house, which my mother will eventually come live with us. Right now she is taking care of my grandmother. If my business takes off like I foresee, I would like to build as I have the money so I don't have a mortgage, or put 50% down and get a loan for the rest.
~Be happy in life!

I am an honest Christian woman and I believe that the bills should be paid first BEFORE you go out and blow any money on luxuries such as eating out. He eats out a lot!

If you find it in your heart to help me out, please send me a note with how you would like for me to use the money, 3 choices as there will hopefully be others who can help me, and I can send you proof that that bill was paid. This is new to me and my first attempt at "cyberbegging", which has taken all I have. I am proud and have done many things on my own, so it is very humiliating for me to have to take this route.

I would assume your donation is tax deductible, but you will have to check on that.

If this works for me, I will give back and help out others who need it.

God Bless you and your family. Happy Holidays!

I hate that I am here...never thought I'd be on this end of the table. But when you lose a job due to downsizing, a single mom of 2, and have no family to turn to (I was the one helping my family)well I am in a BAD place right now. I am 1 month behind on my rent, my car windshield cracked and I they are about to turn off my utilities. I started my new job 3 weeks ago and will be okay in a few months but at this very moment I am at wits end and can't pay any bills. I need $3200 for 2 months rent and $1200 for utilities, grocery and windshield. Any amount a kind soul can donate: When I'm back on my feet a good deed WILL be paid forward: Thank you for reading and Thank YOU for helping.

Left without other possible options

My name is Crystal Stephens and I am 47 years old and single. I have a disabled autistic son and we have been through some very tough times as of late. On April 20th a tornado hit and a tree fell on our only transportation, our van. The landlord originally said he would have his insurance pay but after waiting over a month..he finally said they would not pay for the repairs. I have insurance but can't come up with the $1000 deductable. The estimate is $2,875. I am desperate to get the van fixed. We live 20 miles outside of town and need the van to go to doctor's appts and get to the grocery store. I have pictures of the damage if anyone needs some proof. We would greatly appreciate any help we receive and hope that you are our angel. I have raised my son by myself since he was 3 years old and put my health on the backburner while putting my son first. I am now suffering from many medical problems and am not strong enough to do the things I used to do. I am on 11 medications now and they run me $184 a month. I hate to beg and I hate being so helpless, but I know when I am beat and this is it. My mother, our only family, died in January of this year so we have no family support. If you can help us get the van fixed, I would be eternally grateful.

After the storm, we went without electric for 3 weeks. No heat, air or hot water because it also took out our service pole as well as the power lines. We survived it, but we have not yet recovered. Lost all of our food and we were unable to leave to get any food because of the van damage. The electrician broke the water line when he came to repair the service pole. We have been through so much and we both live on $624 a month so trying to get anything extra done is impossible. Please help us?

Any amount donated will be added to the van fund I have set up and used only for that purpose. I fully understand people being hesitant to donate and not knowing where their money is going and I want to assure you that this is a legitimate need and the money will be applied to van repairs. The amount needed is for the deductable and is $1,000. I do not want more than I need..I just want to get the van repaired.

The link below is for the damage pics and includes a Pay Pal donate button. Anything donated, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated. I can not afford another vehicle as I am still paying on the van and owe $3,200 to pay it off. I have never missed or been late on a payment. This van is what I need for my son and I and is nothing fancy, but it is mechanically sound. I will need a new front left bumper, headlight, windshield and hood to be able to drive it safely. If you have any questions or just want to verify..I have a contact form on the site under the contact tab. Thank you so much for reading my post and caring.

I'm having a Hard time getting a little ahead and I need Help!!

Posted by nohelp4mi on 2010-08-13 17:58:58

I'm having a Hard time getting a little ahead and I need Help!! I am a Married Man with one Daughter and I also am a Cancer Survivor, I thank God that I survived that and that he took care of me.

I'm not one to beg or ask for help but ever since I got off of Disability and got a clean bill of health, I seem to be getting more and more behind. I am keeping up with my bills for the most part but I need extra money for car tires, brakes etc, and also help with minor other thing that keep me just a little bit behind.

I do have a part-time job, no one will hire me full-time bcause they think that I am a risk to them healthwise, The Doctor told me to give them ten years and they would finally come around, but by the time the ten years is up I will really be in dire straits!! My car has over 200,000 miles on it, I drive 20 miles to work and this puts lots of wear and tear on it, I need new brakes and rotors, and 4 new tires just to start, plus I need a new windshield also. I hope and pray that my refriderator will last a few more years yet, I had to buy the wife a new washer and that really put me behind.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I would be thankful but even if i don't recieve a dime at least I was able to rant here and relieve a little stress!! Thank you

Hello,I will have a little money to offer for a car.I am a newly divorced single mom on welfare.I am looking for a safe reliable car.Preferably a hatch back, that is Japanese - Toyota ect.The reason I am so specific is because Toyota's never brake down! Also,I would use this vehicle to drive my son, and am a vendor at farmers markets. So I need the room of a hatch back.I have an old 1991 toyota hatch back. However it is beyond repair, and has multiple problems.Every day I am grateful it starts up, though it pours out smoke, cracked windshield, mechanic said there was something wrong with the axel. It just isn't safe. The mechanic said it would last 1 more year if I didn't drive it over 25-30 mph. That was 2.5 years ago.I would like to take it to the junk yard while it is still running, because I am told they will give me $1,000 for it.However this would not be enough to get a better, safer car, just the same quality. It has over 200,000 miles. I would happily give you the $1,000 for your newer(mid, late 1990's - or up with 150,000 ml.or less)safe, reliable (preferably japanese hatch back). I live in San Francisco, so it would have to be near here. My email is lyonshana@yahoo.com Thank you!
