From: Mr. Danish Hussain
Subject: Please! arrange the amount 1500 U.S. dollar for me as loan. I am mechanical engineer from Pakistan. I am having just 50 USD in my bank account and urgently need money.
Date: 13-05-2012

Respectfully Addressing,
The Concerned Person

Hi Sir, Please! arrange the amount 1500 U.S. dollar for me as loan so that I may hire a hitec detective (e.g. Mr. Jay @ detectives.com) who can collect all the required evidences of people harassing me & spoiling my life, for the police to action and rescue me from worst torture & immense losses of time & money.

Sir, This is Danish Hussain, mechanical engineer. Sir, I am listening voices in my home, office, library, on streets, with me all the time, 24hrs. A group of influential people are teasing me with words & statements. Am helpless. The teasers are teasing me with a super station sort device & this teasing from people goes with me whereever I go, wherever I am. They can listen me, see me and generate sound in my home, office, shop, streets everywhere, those sounds are recordable and am having videos of all that but police needs strong evidences who the teasers are, from where they are teasing me as no one in the video. Losses faced by this teasing are 8 jobs (as soon as I get job I lose it because the boss finds I am always lost, delivering no work just time passing in my probation), interviews (for the same reason), marriage proposals, no earnings for big durations. No improvement in living status whatever earned in 1 or 2 months get spent as I become jobless again. Next month, will be joining a Chinese firm. But before that, please help by arranging a loan for me else will be soon fired again. Please! arrange the amount 1500 U.S. dollar for me as loan so that I may hire a hitec detective (e.g. Mr. Jay @ detectives.com) who can collect all the required evidences of people harassing me & spoiling my life, for the police to action and rescue me from worst torture & immense losses of time & money. I am in Karachi, Pakistan.Thank you very much.

I look forward for your reply. Bye Bye. Take Care

Am waiting for your reply.
Tenderly.
Mr. Hussain

Classic car enthusiast trying to raise money for respray

Hi, i am a classic car enthusiast, i found my 30 year old fiesta nearly 3 years ago and it's my pride and joy, i take it to car shows and people point and stare wherever i go, unfortunately it's paintwork is tired in places and i can't afford to give it the attention it deserves, i do maintain it and look after it mechanically but a respray is way out of my reach, every penny would be greatly appreciated.

Hi.

Thanks for taking the time to read my request. I'm 30 years old, still in college and living with my parents. I've made a lot of great accomplishments in my life with far less support than most people who make it this far. Of course, with that said I've also made plenty of mistakes.

I grew up with a single parent, and another parent who visited annually just to stir up emotions and make my life miserable. When I was 18, I decided to work really hard to lose weight so that I could join the US Air Force. I had a strict plan that I was going to follow to succeed in life.

Unfortunately my superiors in the USAF would not accommodate that plan to independence as they forced me to find my own way from the barracks to work (a 40 mi drive), so I had to immediately struggle to get my drivers licence and I had to buy a car on an Airman's paygrade.

My income wasn't enough to afford the car and gas and other living needs that I was expected to pay, so eventually I had to leave the Air Force before my term was up (under honorable conditions). I tried to work as a civilian. The transfer was tough and I was vastly uninformed about what to do and what my options were. I'm the first first generation college student of my extended family.

After some petty jobs that would each take more than 10 years to be able to earn enough to live independently, I finally found a nice nighttime custodian job that was at least simple enough for that kind of pay. I was the night time custodian, but I was also a guy to have on call at this retirement home where I worked. If people's toilets flooded or a nearly deaf resident left their tv on past quiet hours (once I could hear one through 3 floors!) I was the guy to send up to fix it.

Having my first satisfying job as a civilian, I was able to investigate community college during the day, so eventually I enrolled and tried taking a few classes while working full-time. College was my saving grace. I never felt like I belonged anywhere until I first started to take college courses in math, science, and philosophy. I found the tutoring lounge on campus, made a lot of friends there, and I spent many hours cramming and helping those in need.

This soon led to me finding financial aid, making arrangements with my parents (my mom and my stepfather) to let me go to school full-time while I lived with them, and putting in my 2 weeks notice at work to focus exclusively on school.

My counselors advised that I pick where I want to transfer to and then figure out the details of how to get there after I got accepted. I think this was bad advice. While I ended up choosing to transfer to a university that had my desired major, Biophysics, it was 60 miles away from where my parents lived. My car that I had bought when I was in the Air Force also eventually broke down from not being able to afford maintenance while I worked, and was towed away for being in the public street for too long.

Finally, I got accepted to UC San Diego to work towards a degree in Physics with a specialty in Biophysics. When it came time to transfer, I got as involved as I could on how and when I was supposed to receive the financial aid so that I could go get an apartment and everything, and my school kept telling me, "you should get it tomorrow" until about 2 weeks into my first quarter when I finally got the support.

Despite this rocky start, I managed to get into a good shape for myself, making my way slowly but surely through school. Learning a great deal. Eventually when I felt the struggle was too difficult, I changed my major to Neuroscience before I began my upper division coursework.

So, as I settled into my schooling and struggled with maintaining financial independence on financial aid, I managed to get myself into maintaining a great aquarium hobby, owned two great little kittens from a street cat program, led as president of a student organization for one year, and eventually I got married. I also carefully learned about the stock market and managed to make some great gains with money that I had invested from financial aid savings.

In 2010, my gains were over 100%. That amounted to $2000 doubling itself, but still, that says a lot about me as a trader. However, 6 months into my marriage, she said she wanted out, grabbed the car that we both paid into (most of the money was mine from stocks; $5500 worth), and refused to pay her share of 2 months rent. That happened in December of the year of 2010.

2011 was a difficult year for me. I fought hard to maintain things, especially my head, but it was tough. I lost 45 lbs from exercising regularly, made lots of new friends, and I got some volunteer work experience in a Neuroscience lab. But I just couldn't focus well enough to maintain my finances and my grades, so I had to drop out and live back with my parents.

Despite how tough it's been, not finding work, struggling with the ins and outs of the VA, and just needing a professional therapist to talk to and help me keep my head straight but never being able to get one, I've managed to recuperate well enough and learn a lot more about this bottom floor of society that I've been so desperately trying to escape my whole life.

I've gone looking for opportunity in every direction. I've tried changing my career goals, collecting recyclables, writing online, trying any online scheme that didn't include me forking out money to get it, imagining what I could write as a novel, tried to make money through playing video games, making goal after goal after goal for myself, but still just not being able to get just the right amount of money to put me back on my feet.

I'll be going back to school in April at the risk of having to do it as a homeless person if the VA doesn't pull through for me. They recently approved my 10% service connected disability status and now I need to jump over a few more hurdles to get my more significant service connected disabilities recognized. I'm also seeing what the vocational rehab people can do for me despite the bureaucratic issues that are stopping them from helping me all the way.

BTW, this whole time that I've gone through life with common lower class difficulties, I've been disabled with a number of small conditions that all add up to a hard time. I have lower back issues that the military has yet to own up to. Community college found also that I have a learning disability which makes some intellectual tasks show up as lower than average ability for me while the rest of my intellect is high enough to expect that I could easily get a Masters Degree or a PhD. My biggest difficulty in school is that they don't give me enough time to show them what I know or what I'm capable of.

From working with special needs students as a tutor, I have proven to myself that there is a major problem in the education system. Most teachers never simplify the material into a clear picture of what they want to teach. If you want someone to learn something, the last thing you should be fuzzy on is what it is exactly that you want them to learn. We can't all work like intuitive Jedi or sophisticated parrots.

If you help me out, here is a list of the priorities of what your money will go towards, in order of their priority If you would like to request that I spend your donation on a specific cause, please let me know:

1. A working cheap economic vehicle.
I need something that I can sleep in and that will take me wherever I need to go. Preferably something that can stow quite a few recyclables as well to pay for gas, but not an SUV or truck or van (Unless that's all that is cheap of course. Not likely but you never know.).
I'll aim for great gas mileage, but I'm thinking that I should attend some police car auctions to see what the cheapest deal I can find is. This car would make a great shelter for me while I return to my far away school.

2. Investing on the stock market.
Trust me, I know how to fish. If you want to send me a request for proof I'd be glad to compose some evidence of my finest moments as well as my worst to show you that I can do well for myself on the stock market, even during the recession. What I could really use right now, is a little bait. Trading is good money for me, but to make enough to make gains worth more than the commission cost (about $10), you need about $300-1000 per investment. $300 is more for the high risk lottery plays on the market. I even made a blog about it if you would like to see:
http://www.squidoo.com/TheYoungidealistEconomyBlog
If you are willing, we can arrange something personal so that you wont need to worry about me putting the money you offer at high risk and blow it all. Might even be able to arrange something where I could make money for you to prove myself before accepting your donation. Whatever the case, I know we'd have to make it a personal arrangement to satisfy the current laws.

3. Working towards paying my debts to my friends.
My friends have been really supportive through these hard times, though they are starving students themselves. To keep up my morale they've bought me food, given me a place to crash when they could, and even paid to have me join them at fun local events. I have some money that I've promised them back, and I plan on making due on those promises as soon as possible.

4. Paying off my debts with companies.
I've had times where I couldn't afford to pay for rent and had to leave, like when my wife left me to live with her parents. These issues follow me on my credit score and I would like to work towards removing them so that I can turn my life around.

5. Getting a good start towards paying off my student loans.
I know I won't be able to pay them off before I find a good career with my degree. I would just like to have something to start making some automatic payments with and put that part of my bad credit score behind me as well.

6. Buying a home.
My mom never owned a home. No offense meant to land lords out there, but I really think the rental system is way out of line. My mom was always a hard worker. Way better than me, yet she could never own a home because she didn't have the money. Meanwhile, people with money could live in great big houses for less than she even had to pay.
I want a house to own. Probably start with a condo and seek ways to improve it and flip a profit out of it. Then I want to keep building up money from housing until I can manage to build an apartment building.
If I could, I'd like to make an apartment building near a university that offers cheap housing using the Japanese capsule model or something even more economic and more comfortable.

7. Making an online tutoring site meant to offer free tutoring and tutoring for tips. Imagine a site (I have yet to know of one) where people can collect their resources on a class, much like they collect info on ratemyprofessor.com, but also seek help from others who are taking the class or who have taken the class. Donors like you can offer money to tutors who post their notes and stories on the site, alongside ratings from other students that they helped.
Some tutors can offer their rates for help, sell their notes online for cheap, or just offer their help whenever they can and ask to be tipped through paypal if someone likes their work. My hope is that such a site could help to put an end to sophistry in the college system once and for all, making education easy and affordable for everyone.

8. After I have everything I'm hoping for above, the sky is the limit. But I would prefer to put the extra money that I don't need to good uses. I would spread a little philanthropy around, give to others in need on this site and through other resources.
I'd also look to teach others how to fish. I think a great way for the economy to be fixed would be if philanthropists made some really good employee owned companies. Make the place pay for itself, skim a little off the top, and walk away knowing that you really were a job creator.
I think that everyone who is capable of work and who chooses to work deserves to have their own independent living situation. I know that we are a long way from that, but I tend to be an optimist. I would like to try and make the world a better place, if nothing else.

Aside form financial help, I'm interested in anything else that I could get that's useful. Advice, Neuroscience Career connections, work, hobby or volunteer work that can easily become lucrative, I'm really all ears. Thanks again for taking the time to read my request. I hope you find it in you to help me out, even get to know me if you'd like. Bet you $5000 I can make you laugh. Did I win? >;) it was worth a try anyway.

Canadian Mom Needs Car Fixed to Work

I am a single, Canadian-born mom who moved provinces to make a better life for my child (5) and myself. I sold/gave away everything we owned to accomplish this. My goals were to get a nice, safe place to live, DONE, get my child into school, DONE, get a good job, DONE. The literal day after I accepted my job, our car started mysteriously losing power in midst of driving. It is driveable from point A to point B generally but I need to park it for a minimum of 45 mins. for it to restart and I cannot go a long distance without it dying. I need it repaired in order to get to my assignments (I am a sub so I go wherever I am needed). I have run out of options, nothing of value to sell and no resources left. I need to get car fixed to get to work to get out of this Catch-22 situation. I am beyond shame at this point and am begging for whatever dollars you could spare to help me accomplish this goal. Thank you

Not a hand-out -- an investment

I've never considered "begging" before, but I need a fair amount of cash fairly quickly, and have no assets to offer for pawning, sale, or collateral. I need money to keep my business afloat. I have a deal coming up that could be amazing -- but I need money for FedEx costs, and to keep my phones and power on. I would consider any contribution a loan -- wherever it comes from into my Paypal account, it will flow back out -- guaranteed. I don't want free money, only a micro-loan to get started.

help for unknown disease

Gratitude to all who are on this site!
In 2009 doctors and many others witnessed tiny fluorescent white little puff balls, I call them (They are actually rice grain shaped), emerging spontaneously from my skin by the hundreds, maybe thousands. I have been ill most of my life on and off, for at least 15 years with migraines 25 or more out of 30 days much of spring through fall. When the disease(es) is/are fully active, it is sheer unending torture...
Mild examples are that I got stung by a bee, and was relieved to see it was bee, not the disease..the other day for about 5 minutes, it felt like I had a pinl sticking into my back, antibiotic final stopped it.the itching, stinging, is unreal, intense . I have kept it subdued through alternative cures a.d mixes after anti fungal with antibiotic, yet it still persists, and spring and summer heat make it overactive.
It seems to come with this rustcolored mold that is now everywhere in the little camper I am living in. This rust colored mold also grows kn and in me, creating ...well, ill leave out all the gorey detsils..My family helped me to buy this new, in hopes living in good clean air would help. We looked at the mold under a microscope, and like the fibers that come out ogle, it is fibrous, not mold- like
To add to this, we looked at a slide I made of the fiber in 2009, and one of the fibers turned into a slug like thing while in storage on the microscope, and there is this strange black ink- like looking circle around it all.
my doctors are at a loss, as they don't know of any test to identify this. The fibers just came back as unidentified plant material. It is strange to see them emerge..it just blips right out of the skin in less than a second.
because my camper is now covered in this, no matter how much I clean, every rain the camper gets covered.
Whatever this organism had done to my body, I itch, well all the time. it gets worse when I touch people or old books, I cannot sit on fabric, I have to bring plastic with me wherever I go..
Even my bed is covered in plastic
This organism fights other organisms, even acidophilus!
This and my severe migraines led to finally sucumbing to the acceptance of needing help, which came immediately through disability.o
My goal now is to identify this organism(or group of organisms. I have to get the camper de- termed. I am so sensitive, even staying in people's homes is out of the question now.
I basically require a simple box,ee batbroomand kitchen with no carpete amper drapes, furnishings, unless all 3, etc. And living in Los Angeles, only h budget, the camper is the best solution right now. Help getting me out of this camper, help paying the cost of a company that will remove the mold/ organism, and help with paying for tests to identify this are needed most any experts in any of these areas, I guess if you donate a penny and leave your contact information through PayPal, I would be so grateful!
i' m seeing the infectious disease doctor in January...again though, they don't test, it seems for what I have
So my requests.
if there are any mycologists,, geneticists, mold remediation specialists, (to get my camper less toxic)
And any funds to send out samples to be tested (one place, parasite testing.com calls this neurocutaneous syndrome..and may be able to identify.. it just a swab test is $120!)
And I need to get myself into a place that is healthy for me...eventually it will either be a new camper or studio rented somewhere. For now, until get the mold out of this camper, I will not sell it.
So this is a tidbit of my story...I was a healer, then got too sick! I now channel some of that into healing art
Any help is appreciated! I am much toover- sensitive for any direct healing, I do appreciate intent/prayers out to the grater energy, beyond even consciousness that we are all a part of. I must reflect back any direct energy channeled through, and specifically deny permission for this( learned the hard way)
Thank you for taking the time to read this, for being at this site in the first place
May the world bring to you all you truly feel in your heart right for you!
Namaste
Laura
PS. My computer has been down, and writing this on a cell phone. Much as i tried to go back, I could not correct the typos!

A Desperate Plea for HELP… Donations for Luxating Patella Surgery!

A Desperate Plea for HELP… Donations for Luxating Patella Surgery!

I have a Service Dog named FiFi who is a Medical Alert Dog.
My Service Dog has been diagnosed with an extreme case of Severe Bilateral Medical Luxating Patella, confirmed by two separate veterinarians, who consider it to be a chronic and serious medical condition. The grooves in her femurs, where the kneecaps are supposed to ride, are very shallow and have caused her kneecaps to slip out of socket to the inside of the legs. Her kneecaps cannot be manipulated back into place by hand.
She has developed the condition bilaterally, on both sides, her condition is at a Grade 5 out of 5 in both hind knees, which is the most severe, and she needs surgery ASAP on both limbs.

The Luxating Patellas are causing constant pain and discomfort, decreased energy level, tiring quickly, bony protuberances, bowlegged, crouching stance, swollen knees and joints, poor coordination, loss of balance, limited mobility, stiffness when walking, a change in posture, lack of appetite, and arthritis pain.
When she is able to walk she does so with one of her hind legs further out from her body, while the other affected limb is always being carried because it is much too painful to use. For the most part, she must balance her weight on her front legs as she walks, while holding her hindquarters off the ground, which is severely uncomfortable to say the least. She is no longer able to walk, or even stand on her left hind leg, and is not able to move it.

The recommendation is for her to have corrective surgery on both knees within 2 weeks. The surgeon advised that, if left untreated, the condition will worsen and may lead to rupture of the cruciate ligament as well as painful deformation of the leg bones as she continues to grow. The surgery involves deepening the trochlear groove and modifying the joint capsule to prevent the kneecap from slipping out. If there is significant deformation of the leg bones, they will have to be cut, realigned and pinned. She will have approximately 8 weeks of recovery time.

As you can imagine, this surgery will not be cheap. The estimated cost (at a reduced price) is approx. $1,900 to $2,000, per leg, not including pre-op lab work, post-op rechecks, X-rays, narcotic pain medicine, a custom-built Wheelchair for Toy Breeds (to help her get around), plus miscellaneous other medical supplies that she will need after surgery. The Wheelchair (as prescribed by her Veterinarian) must be ordered online and costs $249.00+ Tax + Shipping and Handling charges).

If FiFi does not get the surgery she needs she will be forced to live a life of constant pain with a permanent luxation that could develop into degenerative joint changes, bone deformities of the femur and tibia, and may not be able to walk ever again!

Any donation that you can make towards FiFi's surgery would be greatly appreciated!

FiFi is an adorable Toy Pomeranian with a Sweet and Loving Disposition; a Sparkling Personality and Magical Charm. She is very clever, well-mannered, and is unusually calm and quiet. She is one smart dog!
She has brought so much Joy and Blessing into my life; I can't ever imagine life without her! Wherever I go, FiFi brings out the best in people. I know she brings out the best in me. I have formed a special bond with FiFi. She is not only my Service Dog; she is also my Best Friend and part of my Family.

My dog is a Service Dog, and she's paid her dues. It is a lot of money, but my dog deserves it. She's only 7 years old.

If it were for me, I would not ask for help.

But it's for FiFi!

Thank you all in advance for your donations, prayers and support!!

P.S. I can provide good personal and veterinary references to testify that I am a loving and responsible pet parent. I can also provide medical documentation from FiFi’s Veterinarian to verify her diagnosis and medical condition.

Definition of Luxating Patella:

(Luxated Patellas are a congenital (present at birth) condition. The actual luxation may not be present at birth, but the structural changes which lead to luxation are present. A Luxating Patella, or Patellar Luxation, is a condition that involves the dislocation of the knee cap, where it rotates to either the inside or the outside of the leg. A Luxating Patella can result from a traumatic injury or from a birth defect, but it is primarily passed down through ancestral genes).
Grade IV. The Patella cannot be replaced manually, and the leg is carried or used in a crouching position. Extension of the stifle is virtually impossible. Tibial rotation is quite severe, resulting in a "bow legged" appearance.

In need of some money.

Hello, I am a 19 year old in college. Although I have worked in the past, all of them were either voluntary work or unpaid internships. I have tried to get a part time job this summer, but wherever I looked, no one seemed to be hiring.

This summer, I was hoping to gather enough money to buy a new computer for around $800. The macbook I currently use is nearly 5 years old and the condition is pretty bad. So far, I have been selling all my old possessions on ebay and amazon and managed to make roughly $360. I ran out of valuable things to sell and now don't know how I will make the extra $400 I need for a new computer. Please help me narrow this gap. In the meantime, I will continue to think of a way to make some money too.

Please help. Laid off Single Mom; Unable to find work

Posted by mfinch on 2011-07-08 08:58:59

My name is Michelle. I have worked as an administrative assistant, a photographer and a web developer. I have also worked as a cashier and a food preparer in a fast food chain. It's not that I don't want to work, or won't. I have worked since I was 15.

Now, I am 34 and at the lowest point of my life. As I write, I am at the library, as I have no Internet connection at home - wherever that is most days. Each and every day is a struggle in this economy and have been seeking employment since I was laid off from my job November 2010 and was subsequently denied unemployment (technical glitch, I suppose).

Since then, I have applied for a myriad of jobs from McDonald's to administrative positions. Yes, I have landed a few interviews, but no call backs due to saturation levels of job seekers applying for the very same jobs I could so easily procure in years past. It use to be that I could find a job at the drop of a hat. Now, I am oddly lucky if I land an interview.

So why am I here? Because, to be frank, I am desperate. My home is in foreclosure. My gas has been turned off (I owe them $500). Without gas to cook or heat our water, we have little use for the house. We have sold what we had of any value to bring in a bit of money. The people (friends and family) who were able to help me before either can no longer help or are unwilling to do so. They have given up hope, and I am almost there, myself. This month, I have no idea how I will pay my car payment. I only owe $4,000 on it. I pay $234 a month. I bought it at $22,000. I have no income, and so, no bills get paid unless a friend is able to help me that month. We need transportation.

I have an eleven year old daughter. She has been a real trooper through all of this. I love her dearly and she knows I would do anything for her. I do what I can to take care of her. She always gets what she needs before I get anything. I am trying hard not to lose her. I have already lost one daughter due to this situation.

When I lost my job in November, I was 3 months pregnant. In April, when she was born, I thought I would have a job by then, but was forced to give her up for adoption since I was unable to care for her and no one around me was able to take her. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I had to make sure she was cared for and given a chance at a happy life rather than one of struggle. I do not want to lose my older daughter, too, but without my home, I certainly will. I simply have no place to go. I would have loved being mommy to two girls. I miss her so much. I will always have an empty space in my heart only she can fill. I only find comfort in the fact that I know she is safe and well cared for, and loved.

What about child support? That is a whole different story, but my daughter's father is attempting to terminate support on the basis that he has bills to pay, "other" children to support and a fiancee. The $50 per week he has been forced to pay is simply gone before it hits the card. Gas is expensive. So are clothes. So are hygiene products. My daughter needs things. I don't mean gadgets. I mean shelter, transportation, clothing.

Do I have a plan? Yes. I am actively seeking employment. I am $9,000 behind on the mortgage. Without my home, we are on the streets. If I cannot pay my car, I cannot sleep in my car. I am attempting to avoid living in either my car or on the street. I cannot get public housing or section 8 as the waiting list is over a year long wait. When I call the homeless shelter, the beds are always full with a waiting list. I cannot go to the YMCA since I am not a druggie or alcoholic and I am not in a domestic violence relationship. So, in the meantime, I have let go of my pride, humbled myself and decided to seek the help of others through donations. School will be starting soon. I need to buy my daughter clothes for school. I need to be able to provide her shelter.

My list of bills is short. The ones that matter, anyway. I have a $234 car payment, $55 for my cell phone (I have to be reached somehow), $75 for car insurance, and spend about $80 a week for fuel. I was notified yesterday that my home is in active foreclosure and am awaiting my court date. I need $100 for a truck to move my belongings and $75 to procure a storage room the first month and $65 a month, thereafter.

Please, if you are able to donate, I am desperate. I will be posting each week the amounts of money that may be donated, even if that number is zero. I will also post what the money has been used for and when I get a job, and no longer need assistance, I will cease to seek them. I will pay it forward when I am able as I know I am not the only one is this situation.
Hi,

My Name is Alyssa and I will be starting my first semester of Graduate School in August. My field of study is Speech and Language Pathology. I absolutely love my field but this particular field requires you to have at least a Masters degree to practice. After my grandfather had a stroke he had to go to a Speech Pathologist to help him re learn how to speak properly and to re train him on how to talk. The first time I took him to his appointment is the moment I knew that I wanted to become a Speech Pathologist and help others just like my Grandfather. I have completed my Bachelors degree and now am about to start my Graduate studies. I have 2 years of non stop, year round school to finish to complete my Masters. This is where my asking for help comes in. I had to work to put myself through my four years of college and have received no help from anyone. I have never been able to save much because of all my expenses with school. Now that I have been accepted to Graduate school I have been calculating the cost I will have over the next 2 years. The results have greatly discouraged me and to be honest have made me wonder if I will ever be able to do it. With all of my expenses including tuition, books, rent, bills, food, and other living expenses I have come to the conservative assessment that i will need around $50,000. Compared to the average price of grad school these days almost being $29,000 per semester, I figure if I live very conservative that I can just about get through it all with only spending $50,000. The college tells us not only in person but it says on their web site as well that you can not work and be in this program at the same time. Only 15 people were accepted into the Speech and Language Pathology program at my school and it is made clear to us that it is very intense and time demanding and that working outside of going through the program is not recommended and in fact discouraged. They tell us if we plan on working that it is recommended we wait to go through their Masters program. So here I am, I have tried applying for Grants and loans and I cannot seem to catch a break. I apologize for you having to read this long request for help but I want you to know that if you do decide to help me that you will be helping me reach my goals and dreams and in turn you will help an unlimited number of other people through my career who have speech disabilities for any number of reasons who need help to overcome it. Because of my Grandfather I am hoping to specialize in those who suffer from brain injuries or neurological damage and be able to give them the new life my Grandfather was given through his rehabilitation. He past away a few weeks ago and he will be forever missed. In honor of my Grandfather I have taken on his email address as my own. I have used it to set up the PayPal account as a sort of dedication to him in honor of him being the reason I have chosen this field of study and made it my goal in life. Any amount of money your heart tells you to donate, even if it is just one cent will help and will be greatly appreciated and put to good use and towards a life of helping others. I thank you for your time in reading this and for your help and support. I hope you have a wonderful day or night wherever you may be!

With humble thanks and appreciation
-Alyssa

Trying to fix what's broken and move forward

Posted by sunshine_girl76 on 2011-05-01 10:58:31

I'm a 35 year old woman who got divorced last year. Over the course of the past year, I have been finding it harder and harder to make ends meet and am struggling to stay afloat financially. I do not receive alimony from my former husband and have two jobs (one full-time and one part-time.) Divorce is expensive, and I've had a significant outlay of cash in the past year to cover the costs associated with that -- everything from court costs to moving expenses (I've had to move twice -- most recently because my previous landlord went bankrupt and the place I was renting went into foreclosure.) It goes without saying that money is extremely tight for me right now and I am barely keeping my head above water.

I am working hard to get my financial life back on track, cut expenses, and build an emergency fund. However, due to some recent health problems, my medical bills are currently much higher than I typically plan for and I am asking for help in order to fulfill these obligations as well as to get me through these next few months.

I'm trimming my budget wherever I can, living simply, and selling off items that I no longer need/use/want in order to raise a little extra cash, but I have decided to also turn to the kindness of others and would be deeply appreciative of contributions in any amount. Please know that as my financial situation improves, I will look for any and all opportunities to "pay it forward," so to speak, to find others in need and support them to the best of my ability.

Thank you for your consideration and kind support.

Closet Project

Posted by ghostly on 2011-04-27 13:58:35

It's no secret, my closet is a disaster. Ten years ago, before my dad died, this was a project of ours we had started. The pole and shelf in my closet had fallen and the brackets had ripped out of the wall. It was our vision to take out the pole all together, that was clearly not going to work with all the weight of the clothes, and just redesign the inside of my closet where I had shelves going all the way up. I have a type of containers that I had my clothes in nice and neatly, one for shoes, and the rest of my stuff I keep in boxes. We had the idea that the shelves would be so much more convenient. Well, when my dad got sick with lung cancer, all of our ideas went on hold due to that he was just too sick. I have all my clothes in bags and just piled in my closet wherever they would fit. My request is simple, I need help with brackets to hold up shelves, and the shelves themselves. I will be more than happy with any help, the right size cut boards for shelves, sand paper, varnish, nails, a stud finder, any supplies I would be grateful to receive more than money to buy them with, but donations would be welcome. I added my PayPal. If you would like to help me with supplies, or if you are a builder who knows how I would measure or can suggest anything that could make my project a reality, I would appreciate any kind of help. This was something my dad and I started when he was alive. My heart would just like to see it completed. Thank you for reading.

Help us start an orphanage in Hati for HIV+ Children

Posted by lindabaker on 2011-04-04 18:58:07

My friend and I have been volunteering in Haiti for many years but always with others establised organizations. Her dream has been to open a home/orphange for HIV + or AIDS children. It will be small only 7 kids so it will have the feel of a home. Well we are very excited that the dream is now a reality. As of last week we have found the perfect house to make a home in Leogane, Haiti. We have already put down a holding payment of $2,000., but we still need to raise an additional $10,000 to pay the first yrs rent. Unfortunately in Haiti you have to pay for the entire year in advance. We have a blog and a website. Some donations are coming in slowly, but we arent even close to what we need by the begining of May. Not only do we have to come up with the rent money, but we need to obtain all the things nessecary to fill this empty house. Its alot of stuff. Just look around wherever you are sitting now and thats probably only a small fraction of the same stuff we will need. We also need to get a generator, inverter and batteries just to keep the lights on. We also need to get a water filtration system and pump to make the well in the backyard work!!! Thanks for your help. We promise to give back to the community.

Anything will help! Please sign up for this event and join me for the 25 hours of silence

Thank you for supporting me as I raise money and awareness for the THOUSANDS of children in central Africa who have been abducted by Joseph Kony and his rebel army. The money I raise will fund The Invisible Children Protection Plan -- a strategy to protect innocent people from the brutal violence of the LRA.

I will be participating in Invisible Children's national awareness event called 25, on April 25th. Thousands around the world will be silent, using our voices (by not using them) to speak out against this 25-year-long war.

Please donate and tell others about my page any way you can: Facebook, Twitter... or even word of mouth (you remember what that is, right? Phone calls. Knocking on doors. Whatever you've gotta do.)

And join me on April 25th, wherever you are, in staying silent for 25 hours. Together, we will put an end to 25 years of war. Sign up at www.invisiblechildren.com

Together we can help these innocent children and their families not have to live in fear. Any donation will help. Living by my favorite quote "Be the change you wish to see in the world." i know i am making a diffrence and you will be too!
