I am a single father, a good man and I am endanger of loosing my home. I am a corrections officer for the state of Nevada (I realize that's sounds like I make good money) but as most people are shocked to find out I protect the and do not even make 40,000 a year. The state has cut our pay mandated us to take furloughs and we will not see a pay increase for atleast the next two years. This can all be verified on the Nevada state web site. My name is Stephanie. Following the death of both my parents in a car accident 5 years ago August my health has been in a steady decline. I suffer from neurological issues that will soon have me in a wheelchair, and advanced COPD that means I have to have Oxygen continuously. Yesterday I had to go the doctors in 85 degree heat without any air conditioning in my van. By the time I got to the medical center and tried to find this new doctors location I ended up collapsing twice between the walking and breathing. I weigh 83 pounds at 5'5" and I can't carry the oxygen with me when I have to exit the vehicle. Ultimately I ended up in the emergency room.

I live with my daughter and grandson of 6 years. My grandson was in the car when my parents were killed and suffered a major brain injury at 13 months. I'm happy to report though that after months of hospitalization he is right as rain and is mad at me currently ;o) because I'm on my computer which he adores playing with. My daughter suffers from PTSD since the accident my parents were killed in. She cannot drive without someone in the car and she was going to go with me yesterday but the heat was so bad that we were concerned about Gavin in the back in my black 1994 Ford Astro van. It was just way too hot for him and with her PTSD we HAVE to go through town to get anywhere or she will lose it so there would not have been any steady air flow.

It's been a long 5 years. My parents and I jointly owned a duplex. Their deaths were the beginning of the most miserable time of my life. When I divorced it was jointly decided that it would better if I lived in the upstairs apartment so they could be there for the kids while I worked. Over 16 years we became so close that their deaths nearly destroyed me. I paid for the last 15 years on the note of the house, my buy in and we all lived there incredibly content and happy. My parents were my best friends.

After their deaths during the mortgage meltdown, credit locks, and the economic fallout my career of 16 years was one of the first to go. I worked in the non-profit sector designing programming for inner-city communities with a specific focus on youth. So 8 months after their deaths the funding streams I used for the programming dried up and a job I loved disappeared.

Life insurance was enough to cover their debt with a little left over because they didn't carry much but in the end I lost my home of 16 years to the insurance company that covered my daughters son through work when they filed a $ 90,000.00 lien against my home. So 7 months after losing my job I also lost a home I loved. So I experienced 3 deaths within the span of a little over a year.

Because I was unemployed so long and had to use my cards to keep the lights on so to speak my credit is not good. So I can't borrow the funds or even charge a repair for the car.

I can no longer go to doctors visits alone. I'm too weak to walk very far without help and I can't carry the oxygen canister on my own. So I need my daughter for these visits.

Like anyone with severe health issues I'm buried in bills but what I really need help on is funds that will me to fix the air conditioning in my van which despite it's age runs like a champ. I have a physicians assistant who comes into my home to work with my but getting to the specialists has become real concern.

My daughter even with her PTSD has reached a point where she doesn't want me going alone. I was supposed to call her when I reached the doctors the other day when I collapsed the 2nd time and they took me to the specialists office I asked the receptionist to call my daughter. She didn't and she left my daughter terrified that something horrible had happened to me. I don't carry a cell I can't afford one. My daughter was getting better about both driving and me driving myself; because of this receptionist my daughter has now had a huge set back. I have to see that doctor again next week and I can't take them without air conditioning so what I'm going to have to do is make sure I find someone that sit with my daughter while I'm gone to help keep her anxiety level low. I don't have any choice I have to get there. I won't have anyone to carry my oxygen but I'm hoping I can in there.

Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated. I am more than happy to pay it forward as soon as I can. I have been a lifelong contributor to various causes and I know people are in dire straights right now. We all need help in one form or another. I would never ask if I could do this myself. Please forgive me.

Hello. My name is Keith Wolfe. I realize that you may not know me personally and are probably wondering why I'm asking for help from anybody and everybody. Please, let me explain… I feel that help (of any kind) can be given to and received by anybody (even to/from total strangers) as long as the need is truly legit (which my need is). I am currently unemployed, looking for work, and have been struggling to get by financially for some time now. My bank account is overdrawn by a considerable amount, I currently don't have any money to pay my rent in the amount of $870.00 for the month of March, 2012, nor can I afford to buy food to eat (and my cupboards are getting pretty barren right now). Also, my vehicle is in much need of some basic maintenance and a tune up, which I can't afford right now, either.
Like I mentioned above, my bank account is overdrawn and more fees continue to apply, and I'm at the point where my bills and rent are impossible for me to pay without your generous financial help. With your help, I can begin to climb out of financial hole I'm in. I am basically at the bottom of life's barrel and at the moment I can’t even see the light at the end of the tunnel. I will probably be out on the street with no place to live very soon unless something drastically improves, a miracle happens, or somebody makes a generous (sizable) donation/contribution.
The recovery of my higher financial standards and the freedom from debt, overdraft fees and other related stresses has proven to be impossible on my own recently. Things have just been spiraling downward for me and not improving for long enough now and I'm nearly at my breaking point and don't know what else to do other than ask for help. Ok just to start I would like to say that I don't have a sibling with a cripling degenerate disease, or lost my parents in a freak skiing accident (both are living happily in France)and I am not trying to send a football team of disadvantaged kids to an unbelievably expensive disney themed resort.
All these are worthy of donations and if I were able to I would donate to them myself, however I am not and have instead found myself having to sign up to a web site basically begging for kind strangers to donate, even the smallest of change, to be able to turn my life back around.

I won't bore you with the details of my long struggles as im sure we have all been there at some point (long and drawn out 'woe-is-me' emails written on request) however, what i will say is that after throwing myself into the world of work at 16 I gained as much life experience and qualifications as I possibly could and worked my little toosh off all the way.
After educating myself as a Photographer and Lithographer throught the RAF (leaving to get married and have a child) I then went on to realise that living with an alcoholic was not so good 4 either my baby or I, so took the brave steps to leave.
I then put myself thought an apprentiship as a mechanic and loved it! However I found it very difficult to spend quality time with my child during the holidays so managed to get a job in a school, which was perfect, then when an abusive relationship led 2 my son and I becoming homeless I had to do what was best for my child and let him go to live with his reformed dad 200 miles away :(
I then went back to what I love, mechanics, as I tried to get my life back on track however work has dried up and just after xmas I was laid off so here I sit as a single 30 yr old with qualifications galore, unemployed!
Ok depressing prologue over and i will cut straight to it.
I am now trying to make a future that will make my life and my contact with my son (every third weekend and all holidays) easier, I am trying to re train as a mechanics teacher, however the hurdle I have come accross (I really should apply to the olympics with all this hurdle trainging I've had) is that the course is going to cost £6,000 and I will only get help towards half, now this is a little bit of an issue as I dont know anyone that could manage to find £3000 in change down the side of their sofa, so I am apllying to the masses, I am just asking for a whole lot of people to donate just a little bit so I could get sorted please.
I may not be the most in need and I may not have a heart wrenching story but I am honest and I am a nice person who is sick of those that dont have any morals always coming out on top, just for once I'd like the good person to win (more specifically me really lol) so if you could spare anything I would truly be so very grateful :) Thank you if you made it this far :) xx

Dear Helper,

I had been unemployed for 3 years and could see no hope of finding a job so decided to start my own business media4web.co.uk, producing web video for small businesses to promote their products and services.

I graduated in 2009 with a degree in Digital entertainment and game design. This degree covers web design, animation, game design, 3d animation and modelling. I also have a degree in music performance with some skill in music composition. I want to be a 3d animator. my goal is to start by making small psa ads, cheap online games and iphone/android apps, and short films. I have the talent and the training to do this in a way that puts out completely original music and visuals. This is the second step in my ultimate goal of working for a game company designing games and ads.

Unfortunately, graduation did not come with the tools to start out. I need professional versions of these products so that I have no trouble with marketing and selling my work:

Adobe Creative suite design premium or master collection
Autodesk 3ds max/maya
Finale music notation

I also need a desktop computer capable of running the full versions of these programs. A Macintosh would be ideal, with a touch screen monitor so that I can use my monitor like a drawing board, and a MIDI capable keyboard so that I can do composition.

I need all the help I can get. I have student loans that need paying off, and I know that I can really make some money if only I had the right tools.
