I'm 30 years old and struggle with social anxiety disorder and depression. I was laid off last month and haven't been able to find another job. I'm the sole breadwinner of the family (me, my mom, and my little sister), so we have no savings and now our bills are past due. Our water and electricity will definitely get cut off if I don't gather $500 before June 14th (water bill is $350 because of a huge leak in the bathroom that I can't afford to fix). I'm persistently trying to get a new job, applying to several open ones each day. I've only had one call back, but I'm hoping to have two jobs soon, however, no matter what, I won't be able to pay those past due bills in time.

I just need some help until I can get employed again, or my mom and little sister and I will not have electricity or running water! I've already pawned everything that I can (except my computer of course, because I need that in order to look for work), so I have no other options.

Please, if you can give anything, help! I need at least $500 before June 14th. Please donate to help out me and my miserable family. I will greatly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.

I have been without running water in my home for about 18 months. I have a water bill of about $1000. I had a massive leak in my plumbling and got it fixed but by then the bill was too high.

I'm a single mother and a full time college student with a part time job. I make roughly 240 dollars a week. This month I paid a rent bill, electric bill, water bill, car payment, auto insurance bill, Internet bill, and had to buy baby supplies along with the normal household necessities such as dish detergent, clothes detergent, soap, toothpaste, garbage bags, ect. No problem! I usually manage to pay all of my bills by the grace of something bigger than myself. I don't know how I'm doing it. I've been doing it for over a year now by myself. I do without a luxurious cell phone and television. I have to have Internet for school. Thank God for Google and Youtube. A girl deserves more entertainment other than deciphering her 9 month old's poop to determine whether or not its lime-greenish hue comes from the peas she ate 2 days ago, or if a fungus is among us.

The thing is.. I am hungry. I am not Ethiopian starving, but I'm hungry. My last meal consisted of a pack of chicken flavored ramen noodle soup and 3 saltine crackers. The 7 meals before that consisted of the same exact thing, except I was so lucky as to add a few broccoli florets to the soup broth. I have since ran out of broccoli and ramen. All I have left in my food pantry is canned baby food, and oatmeal. I am down to drinking tap water and falling asleep at night to the borborygmus sounds that my intestines sing to me out of pure hunger. I am so very blessed to be able to pay my bills and provide for my daughter while furthering my education so that some fine day we will both be living like Princesses. I have counted each and every one of my blessings. However, food isn't among these blessings of mine. All I'm asking is for someone to treat a girl to a hot nutritious meal.

I'm a 45 year old male with 5 children. In 2005 I got retrenched from the platinum mine were I worked and with the state that sa's economy is in I've struggled to get a job ever since and my savings are running out. My twins is 18 and in matric this year and both need new glasses and for that they also need new eye test done at specsavers the qoatation was R2000 ($250) for both. My youngest daughter's primary school is R1500 in arears ($200) and my 5year old needs to start play school and the baby needs formula and daipers,then there is food,rent and water and electricity bills and winters coming! I try do odd jobs to make ends meet but now my bakkie (pick up truck) broke down and I do steel works and used it to move my equipment. Any donations or amount money will do and wil be appriciated very much. There is a thousand illegal ways in SA to make money but Im not a theive. I was a policeman in my 20's and know how crime affect the lives of others.I'm alone with only my oldest daugter trying to help in between her job and 2 baby boys. Please I really dont know what to do anymore and what to pay and what not to pay this month.

Here lately, we have hit a rough spot in our income and are in dire need of financial assistance. We are currently living off 268 dollars a week in unemployment, and cannot cover our bills. We are both full time students and are having a hard time finding new jobs in this economy. Hi I am a mom of 3 children, 1 a special needs child. I work as a nurse assistant but it only covers about half of our needs. I work hard and do my best every day and try to keep a smile and a good attitude but sometimes your best just isn't good enough. My special needs baby is 8 years old and is speech impaired, deaf in one ear, severely asthmatic, and has ADHD. Medicaid pays for most of the meds and specialists but not all. I pay for some of his meds and specialists and then there's the gas to go to and from. All in all I'm spending about $800 per month that medicaid is refusing. I haven't been able to get an answer why as of yet. I've applied for social security for him but have been denied twice and now am awaiting a hearing which I am told could be anywhere between 18 and 21 months just to get a hearing date. I only make about $1500 per month so simple things like even a trip to the laundromat is a challenge. Apart from my son's problems I also have 2 baby girls aged 9 and 6 to take care of. Thanks be to God they are healthy. All of my family has passed away due to various forms of cancer so it's just my children and my husband and self. He is out of a job presently and has been seeking work since being laid off from his last job (about 7 months). I have applied for a pell grant and registered for LPN classes at the local community college to try to help myself but it will take about 15 months to finish school let alone get a job. I've managed to pay rent but am 2 months behind on the internet bill (used for school) am 5 months behind in car payments and am at risk of a repo any day. If I lose my car then how am I going to be able to go to work,school, take the kids to school, take the kids to the doctor,grocery shop, do laundry, or anything else? I currently do not have auto insurance because I can't afford it.(was cancelled for nonpayment 2 days ago.) I managed to pay my water and cell(about $100) to keep that going. I am almost a month behind on my electricity but have managed to keep it going by paying about half the bill per month. As of now, I have a balance of $150. I don't know what to do. If anyone would please help us I would be forever grateful and appreciative.

My wife and I have 3 children with another on the way. A few years ago I was a successful insurance and annuity agent, but the downturns in the economy forced me to get out of that line of work. I am working 3 jobs, putting in as many hours as I can, but with some recent medical bills we have gotten behind. Currently, we are totally broke, and our cabinets are getting pretty empty. We are a month behind on water and electric bills, our phone bill, and our student loans, and it is another week before I can expect any paycheck so I can get to the grocery store and catch up on a few bills. We don't have health insurance, and my work doesn't offer any group plan, so we have had to go on Medicaid for the kids and my wife's pregnancy. We have always been hesitant to seek out government assistance, but last month we found ourselves with no food to eat and behind on all our bills. We applied for SNAP (food stamps), but were told that we make $150 per year too much because of all the jobs I am working. I'm exhausted, but I would work more if I had any hours left in the days to get extra work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We moved into this house a year ago. The first water bill was almost 4x what it should have been for a small family of 3, and was $450 dollars instead of our $80 previous household water bill. We paid it, over the next 6 months, and made sure to use as little as we ever could. We've just got another one saying its $680 this time.
We think there is something dodgy going on. The house is old, very old, and the pipes are rusty. When we told The landlord he sent out his brother who is a plumber, and said that was the end of it. But we think he is not fixing the pipe because it is cheaper for him to just pass on the huge water bills to us.
We are a very low income family, we have an infant son, we can barely afford rent and food, and we have been given 2 weeks to pay or be kicked out. Please help, we have noone else.

I am a father of two young boys. we already are living without water and we have no food beyond this week. we walk across street to use restroom at a family members house, this is gracious enough as we have fallen on hard times and so have they. we, together, try our best to help each other but i have been without meaningful work since being laid off from a steel mill. i was a hard worker and went in sick or well to make sure my family had their needs met, when i lost my job it was devastating. i am 26 no degrees, some college level courses completed and have had only two jobs since i was 18. i have little to no work experience outside of the heavy industries which have fallen off sue to the slow economy. this makes me under qualified for most good paying jobs as i cannot work for min. wage and support my children along with my home. this has destroyed my six year marriage and left me penniless and sometimes homeless as my ex wife retains the home. she works near full time but only makes 9 dollars and hour driving bus for osu, not enough income to cover all the expenses without my help. i have moved back home to try to make amends to find that within 10 days we are to be removed from the house if i do not have $1,500.00 for non-payment of the mortgage. please if someone can help us as i am desperately looking for gainful employment, i want to work and am a good hearted christian man. if only a few kinds words to sway an employer to give me a chance, anything would be appreciated.

Hi I'm a single mother of two working as a new nurse. I've gotten myself into a financial whole that has been mounting since I started school in 2010. I graduated in 2012 and am now working as an LPN, however I got myself in way over my head my last semester of school and haven't been able to play catch up since then. Currently I am one payment behind on my home, 2 on my vehicle, my water has been shut off, and my payment plan with the electric company is now void and I owe 674.00 to keep electricity. I've tried to receive state assistance to no avail as I do not qualify for their services. Any help would be much appreciated to help me get back on track.

Had flood insurance that helped get the home back in living condition. In 2003 I was in an accident that caused me to quite my job as a firefighter paramedic. I have only worked part time for three months this year, My credit is bad. I live on a fixed income but have been able to pay off my existing mortgage. But now my home is falling apart. my bad luck started on the way home from adopting my son. our finances were nil from the adoption, but my wife and i were happy with the knowledge that her son was now mine, and the finances would work out. we were WRONG. on the way home, our van died and needed repairs, then all of the overtime i had been working to help pay for things dried up. fast forward two months, now we're on the verge of loosing our home, our gas is off, so we have no hot water and only dried goods for food. the electricity is scheduled to be shut off in a week. and the laptop i tried to sell to make up the money we needed was stolen. if there is a kind soul out there that reads this, we desperatly need $1500 dollars. and i do mean desperate. as in im trying to figure out how to cash in on my life insurance...that desperate. please help!

After caring for the past 5 yrs. for our moms, our son and his 3 kids under the age of 5, we have used all our resources.My husband has been in the hospital every year for surgery. Stents, quadruple bypass, and others. Having 6 other people to care for, our utilites tripled and the food budget was unbelievable. Keeping thelights and hot water running was so hard. It got so bad, that we did lose electric for 3 months. Our only hope is to file chap.7 and chap.13.

Hello, Me and my kids are in need for some assistance in getting my water turn back on. I have been struggling to pay my mortgage to keep a roof over our head and while trying to pay the gas and electric bill, my water got turn off and have been for 3 weeks. My bill is $3000.00 and they are not willing to make no arrangements with me to turn water back on. Again I have a 3 and 11 year old. I have been buying water but its not enough and now I have no money to purchase more water.

I am a 32 yr. old man, and since 2006, i have had a difficult time getting back up on my feet. i lost my kids, my home, my car, everything. since that time, i recently lost my mother in September and got divorced since my parents were the ones watching my kids. i had to move into a 10 X20 storage building, i then needed better than no water, etc. i decided to start working on getting my kids back, and can't do it unless i have a place for them to go. therefore i am asking for someone's assistance today. if someone can please help me today, contact me asap.

I have never done anything like this before but I dont know what else to do. I work everyday and still cannot stay above water. I work so much I hardly get to spend anytime with my kids. I have worked steady for the last 15 years of my life. We all know that the ecomomy is still under water as we speak, i don't believe everything we hear about work picking up and the job market is doing better that it was 1 yr ago . Well i have been off work for about little over 2 yrs ....i have been to at least 20 interviews in the last months and no luck .....It seems that everyone is looking for a Diamond ... I have done some research on people going to interviews and results were the same as mine (I guess were just unlucky at this point in time due to the (ECONOMY).....I still go out and look for work daily ....Now i am in a boat that starting to sink .... I might be able to make my house payment this month and pay a bill ....after this who knows ... Lets Pray for the unfortunate one's.
