Fatherly Dreams For My Little Heart Patient As We Lose Our Home

Posted by GregHasHope on 2012-05-24 03:58:19

My daughter had heart surgery last year and I want to treat her to a sport that will teach her competitiveness, help her self esteem, allow her to have fun, and exercise her heart. Her surgery happened while I was in school and was very sick myself with Crohns disease a year ago. We were so bad off, I had to borrow money for gas to get her to the hospital. It was quite a humbling and intensely challenging past 2 years for her and I. Her surgery was successful. I have finished school and will be starting my new Job as an EMT June 11! I am also currently in new recruit training for a volunteer firefighter/ EMT position which will give me valuable experience for a paid position some day. It will also give me the opportunity to serve others. I personally love to help others and have done a LOT in the past when I could. I doubt this will be seen, but, A dad can have his dreams.

I am losing my home and have had my gas cut off. I was too ill to work for over a year. Quite honestly, I am losing it all. We have each other (My daughter and I) and improving health. During the process of losing her home, I want to have her my daughter pre-occupied with good thoughts. I want her to see that life will go on. She loves playing tennis, but I am financially unable at the time to help her pursue the sport. I would like to do it with her to build the father daughter bond and help myself get in shape to volunteer for my fire department.

Below is a link to a wish list of items we need. Were not asking for exacts. It's just what we picked out that we saw online. http://amzn.com/w/W4M5DEBQ0C1N . We would appreciate any help. Prayers are welcome as well!

I'm going to be a dad

Posted by Daemonarch on 2012-05-21 21:58:09

First of all, I'm terribly sorry for my bad english. I'm a portuguese man and recently I had the most wonderful news, I'm going to be a dad... unfortunately, I'm unemployed and so is my wife.
I need help to start buying some basic things for the child, and I've absolutely no chance of credit (I've already made one) with the portuguese banks. Any help will be extremely valuable... I want to keep this baby and if I can't provide a good environment the government will take the baby from us... Please help.

Please help my best friend be matron at my already-saddened wedding

Posted by PurpleGirl8 on 2012-04-22 19:58:35

All the financial means that would've let my best friend/spirit sister be matron of honor at my wedding have fallen thru, in true Murphy's Law fashion. This is one of MANY snafus all draining joy from my wedding, the worst being my dad passing away. I'd forgo all the gifts on my registry if it meant my best friend could fly here for my wedding! We need help with taxes

Posted by nt1962 on 2012-02-17 15:58:59

We desperately need your help! We are a small church located in an economically disadvantaged community. We own a house that was deeded over to us by a former pastor and are at risk of losing that property because of our inability to pay some past due taxes on the property.

The house was deeded to the church over 30 years ago by a former pastor of the church who had become ill and subsequently passed away. The house is not located in the same community as the church. (In fact, it is some distance away from the church, and therefore could not be utilized for church-related purposes which would have taken it off of the tax roll). As a result of gentrification in that community, the property values have increased tremendously. The property tax assessment for the property owned by the church escalated to staggering heights during the housing bubble.

Because of this the church has had much difficulty keeping up with all of the taxes on the property (a general tax, a school tax, and a village tax). The rental income from the property is used to assist the church with operating expenses, maintenance of all of the church properties, as well as paying the taxes. Finally, reassessment in the last couple of years has brought down the amount of taxes to be paid and we are better able to handle some of the current taxes due, but some of the older taxes were sold and consolidated in tax lien sales. The consolidation of the prior taxes due has hurt us tremendously. Numerous times the unpaid taxes were consolidated prior to our completion of raising enough funds to pay off some of them in their unconsolidated state. Individually some were $1,000 to $3,000 respectively. They have been consolidated totaling almost $19,000. We are not permitted to pay the liens individually which was viable, we have to pay them in total.

There is a holding company based in the community where the house is located which purchased those liens. That company is now a few months away from being able to begin foreclosure proceedings and take a valuable piece of real estate out from under the church. This would be devastating to the church.

The church has been in the process of trying to sell the house and use the proceeds from the sale to build a much needed new church building in the community it is located as well as to pay off those outstanding liens at closing, and to unload a property that was once a blessing to the church, but has long since become a burden. We don’t want to lose the property. We want to be able to sell it. We had some offers on the house, but at the last minute a promising deal fell through. Previously interested buyers, for some reason now, are less interested. We feel it is possible that there may some collusion within the community where the house is located to wait for the lien process to move forward and that potential purchasers connected with the holding company will be able to take the property and flip it to tremendous financial advantage, while leaving the church with nothing for thirty years of struggling to take care of the property.

It is important that we are allowed to sell the house and build our new church. We are in the final stages of making the new building a reality. All we have to do is secure the construction financing. Receipt of a commitment letter for the sale of the house is all that stands in the way of a 40+ year dream for the congregation. It would give us the down-payment that we need to move forward.

With the construction of a new church, we would be able to operate before and after school programs, have handicap accessible restrooms, and provide better services to the community. We have a senior citizens housing complex across the street from our church, and many of the residents would attend our church but they are unable to climb up and down the stairs to the single-person restrooms in the basement. We also operate a summer day camp which would benefit greatly from having more space in which to operate. We would be able to accommodate many more youngsters, many of whose families are unable to afford the other summer camps operating in the area. We have had to turn down prospective campers because of space constraints.

Our congregational makeup has changed over the years. The financial impact of that changed has been coupled with the severe impact of the economic downturn on our community. We have more retirees now on fixed income, youth, and small children, many of whom have young mothers, and some people who are working age, mostly with working class wages. We need to build a church to better meet the needs of our congregation and community. We operate a food pantry and soup kitchen which would be able to open more days a week with bigger pantry space and a modern commercial kitchen.

As I stated, we are in the final stages of the building project. We have our permits, plans, and contractor selected. We are ready to obtain financing. The congregation, which has always striven to do much with little, has invested much in this projected over the years and the sale of this property owned by the church is the one thing that stands in the way of it happening. Please do not let us lose this property just so a few people can make a quick buck. Help us to pay off these tax liens so that our church will be able to help transform an entire community!

Help maintain a place for our children.

Hello,

As someone who is in a leadership position at YourCompany, I know that you’re pressed for time. But please, could you give me your full attention for the next 30 seconds as you read this letter?

You see, the children at Plainfield 5 Star Gym would like to continue to have a place to call theirs this year. But you know how it is: government budget cuts, on top of too-small budgets in the first place, have combined to make it impossible for them to be able to do so.

Unless someone steps in to help them. And that’s where you come in.

The benefits of being at Plainfield 5 Star Gym are priceless: teaching children about the wonders of self esteem and motivating them to learn about their ability to achieve goals with discipline is one of the best ways they can learn about themselves and develop their interests, leading to future careers in hundreds of fields.

By helping the children at Plainfield 5 Star Gym to be able to have a place to retreat , you are not just helping them, but you’re also investing in the long-term future health of your community and even your company. A healthy, well-trained workforce is the most valuable asset at any company, and by helping our children to have gym they so desperately desire, you will be planting seeds for future employees loyal to your company.

Not only that, by contributing you will also be receiving free advertising and positive public relations in the community. That’s because we will post your name in the program for the boxing events , as well as on any materials produced promoting the amateur events. To top it all off, we will have a “Partner Wall,” bearing the names of all the contributors to the gym, which will be prominently displayed at the boxing events itself.

By contributing towards the boxing gym in Plainfield you can help our children immeasurably, receive free advertising and promotion for your company and feel good about it all!

Would you please help? We’re are out funds to pay the rent for our gym. We need to raise a total of $50,000.00, which will cover the cost of 50 children from the community to attend without cost, rent, equipment rentals, presentation tables and chair rentals, printed materials like entry forms and flyers .

Any amount you’re willing to donate will be greatly appreciated!

Please contact Rich Johnson at 908 447 7174 to find out how we can work together to give our children the best opportunities to succeed while giving your company the exposure it deserves for helping us out.

Hope to hear from you and thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Rich Johnson

PS: In lieu of a financial donation, we’d be happy to accept any donation in form of donated items or services. Please contact Rich Johnson 908 447-7174 to find out what items or services will be needed to maintain a place for our children.

Made redundant and struggling to get back on track

Posted by pandypop on 2012-02-06 13:58:38

Hi there

My name's John everyone who reads :)

I worked for a large internet bank for 8 years, it was a great job, I loved my job, but unfortunately I was made redundant, my role was telephone buisness development manager.
Since then I manage to get a job in I.T, but unfortunately my contract only temporary, it gave me my first taste of working in I.T.
Since then I have worked for a parcel delivery company and a supermarket stacking shelves, yep that's what it has came down to, the last job was temporary with the promise of being made permenant but it didn't happen.
I have a mortgage and 4 kids, spiralling debts and have almost been evicted from my home 3 times!
I dont want to be unemployed, its demeaning and degrading, I have valuable skills and I am a hard worker!
I just want to provide for my family and have a nice debt free life, isnt that what everyone wants?

I have a good telephone manner, I can use a p.c and I am consciensous and I consider myself to be a people person, I have also lately taken a security guard course at my local college.

I would ideally like to be earning around the £20.000 per annum salary, the bills wont pay themselves.

I dont drink/smoke or get out these days, just want to get by without a struggle.

If you can help, then that'd be totally amazing and I'd be ever so greatful!

John :)

Please help me fund my dream!

Hello

I recently started up my own opera company and I am looking to fund our inaugural production of Cosi fan tutte. I am seeking funding within the region of $6000 in total but all assistance is most appreciated.
The action has been updated to modern day Italy, we have our whole cast and venue up and ready to go. But the dream will vanish if we cannot get the money behind it.

You can find out more details about the project here:

http://www.pozible.com.au/index.php/archive/index/4727/description/0/0

We have a performance target date of March 18 2012 for the venture which is why we are looking for the money immediately. This is the best date to tie in with our venue, the beautiful Makers Market at Abbotsford.
Funds include costuming and props, set design, hiring chamber orchestra and instruments, publicity, payment of director and music director, buying rights to specific images and creating posters and programmes. The artists, including myself, are NOT making any money from the venture and are giving up their time for free.
I am a highly motivated self-starter with extensive experience in both the practical and administrative side of the arts. In return for your valuable help I am able to assist you to get your own business projects up off the ground in areas such as data entry, copywriting, editing, proofing and the creative process. Or if you are a creative organisation or individual needing a hand, whether it be through performance or administrative matters, I would be happy to help you free of charge.
Additionally, my wonderful troupe of singers can perform at your next corporate functioning or gathering - we will even travel as a special thank you!
This is an exciting new initiative that you and/or your business can get involved in from the ground level. I guarantee that this venture will make money - so if it is difficult for you to get involved as a donor, we can organise a repayment scheme.

I can't tell you how grateful I am. Thank you so much for your time.

Please help me achieve my dream!

In desperate need of 2500$

Posted by michelle023 on 2011-11-22 06:58:09

Things seem to go worth and worth and luck seems to stay away from me. I tried many ways to make money with different works. I even tried to sell some of my stuff. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of valuable things!
I absolutely need 2500$ to get back on my feet. My car needs a repair, I need money to buy heating oil and to pay my last telephone and electricity bills!
I search a way on the net, quite desperate and I found this “begging online” website. I hate to ask but I think I have no choice.
The lack of money prevents me to concentrate and work properly. Sometimes I feel just like if everything was useless!
I will never thank you enough if you accept to help me a little.

Please help contribute to MicroFix Goodwill Project...

Posted by Micro_Fix on 2011-08-16 10:58:13

MicroFix Goodwill Project aims to conserves natural resources and supports the community.Valuable material can be recovered from old electronics, and these materials can be used to make new products. For example, precious metals are used in computer circuit boards and other electronic components, and of course glass and plastics are used for TV and computer monitors. Recycling these products reduces the need to mine the earth for new raw materials. also, donating your old electronics supports schools, low-income families, and non-profit agencies by providing them with refurbished computers, cell phones, and other electronics. Individuals are helped by being able to access technology that they could not otherwise afford.

Volunteers can contribute by recycling unwanted electronics or by giving a contribution of any amount to drive MicroFix Goodwill Project on to success. Contributions will be used to expand our location to accept and store more recycled electronics, shipping materials to make it easier on everyone to mail their electronics at no charge to them, and any help us advertise our project around the web and communities.

Single Mother Cancer Survivor Need help to help myself

Posted by LilShaa on 2011-08-12 01:58:38

I need whatever assistance anyone can afford. I want to obtain a cheap reliable used car or the down to buy one, so that I can accept job interviews. I also want help with $, so I can obtain a legal document assistant license, in my area. I want a way to make some money, utilizing the legal research skills I have, while I seek a more permanent source of income. My local area is very economically depressed, which is why I am seeking out of town good paying jobs. I have had to cancel countless interviews, for lack of transportation, which leaves me feeling hopeless.

This downward spiral began, when I was diagnosed with cancer, 10 plus years ago. Instead of being able to gain valuable work experience, I was forced to fight for my life, upon college graduation. The gap on my resume, is not easy to explain away. I have tried to work temporary jobs, and have even worked as a substitute teacher. I would take just any job, but cannot afford to lose life-saving medicine, if my state provided medical benefits were cut, due to a job that would not offer them or the ability to purchase them. I thought subbing would offer me the chance to gain working experience, but I had to stop, due to a custody battle, waged against me, by my vindictive ex and his legal associates. They also waged numerous phony allegations, about me, with various agencies, one of which is the one which oversaw my employment. Despite nothing coming of the allegations, the agency overseeing my employment, sat on the matter/s for years now, which has left me in limbo, with no means to clear my good name, and no income source. This further added to my resume experience gap. It is nothing I can explain to potential employers, either.

The past several years has been difficult with all the medical and legal issues, both mine and my younger child's. My sibling was sent to war around the same time my parent committed suicide. This also cost me financially and mentally. My car was repossessed, destroying my credit rating further. This has hindered my ability to attend interviews, and even bar me from some opportunities, due to poor credit. The icing on the cake- the family court rewarded my ex for quitting a higher paying job. They cut his child support payment in half, for my 6 year old. Recently I had to move into a new place, and now owe money for the deposit. I had to use what little I was trying to save for a car, so I wouldn't end up homeless. My older child was working, too, but was put on bed rest, so we now face another income drop. I hope someone can help with anything, because I just do not know what to do anymore.

In need of some money.

Posted by chaitealatte on 2011-07-23 22:58:42

Hello, I am a 19 year old in college. Although I have worked in the past, all of them were either voluntary work or unpaid internships. I have tried to get a part time job this summer, but wherever I looked, no one seemed to be hiring.

This summer, I was hoping to gather enough money to buy a new computer for around $800. The macbook I currently use is nearly 5 years old and the condition is pretty bad. So far, I have been selling all my old possessions on ebay and amazon and managed to make roughly $360. I ran out of valuable things to sell and now don't know how I will make the extra $400 I need for a new computer. Please help me narrow this gap. In the meantime, I will continue to think of a way to make some money too.

Help Request for 28 Days & Counting

Posted by LovingAuntie on 2011-07-22 00:58:59

As I was writing on my niece’s behalf, I felt to submit a request of my own.

In April, my unemployment benefits were exhausted. May and June of this year found me without enough cash flow to pay my storage fees. However, beginning in late August, I will be receiving retirement benefits, which will allow me to once again maintain a balance until such time I am generating sufficient income to have a place of my own and permanently remove my possessions out of storage.

While I remain diligent in my efforts to secure employment, I am still unemployed and my deadline for paying off the balance of my storage fees is August 18, 2011 in the amount of $822.18 (including late, lock cutting, lien and other fees), incurred during the months of May to August.

The space holds my family’s lifetime of irreplaceable documents and other valuable and very useful practical possessions, representing for me a legacy of work and living I’ve accumulated and experienced these 62 years, and intend to use for at least another 30 years. Many of the books, art work and other one-of-a kind collections I plan to leave for my sons and grandsons.

Vision with me that $30.00 from 28 people is sent to me at least once daily doing it for me. So, if you find it in your heart to give, and your fiscal resources oblige, know that any and all amounts of monetary donations are humbly received and greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration and effort.

Short on Rent

Posted by redlaughter on 2011-07-18 21:58:33

I changed jobs in May, becoming a personal assistant for a lady in town. She started to flake on paying me, however, and as soon as it started happening I began looking for other jobs. I've had several interviews and I feel hopeful I will be hired within the next month.

I'm short $195 for rent due beginning of August, though. I know I'm late on all my bills, but I'm alright with that for now because I feel confident I will be hired soon. But not soon enough work enough hours to make $195 in 10 days.

Please help. I've already asked friends and family about odd jobs I can do for them and I've sold everything valuable I owned. I don't want to live in the street because of one woman's decision not to pay me.

Please Help! $75 Would Keep My Head Above Water!

Posted by Laura on 2011-06-29 01:58:06

Hi. My name is Laura, and in the past few years I've been laid off, lost my home, sold everything I once owned and learned to live more frugally than I ever thought possible. I was saved from homelessness by friends with generous hearts and a sofa I could sleep on, and through it all I've learned some very valuable lessons about gratitude, and what really matters in life.

I have started my own small business, and am gradually clawing my way back from the brink. I manage to scrape by from month to month, but like so many people I'm still always one unexpected expense away from disaster.

Then last week my trusty old laptop died after years of faithful service. I had to replace it, because my business depends on it. I got lucky and found a good, second hand machine at a bargain price, but that expense has pushed me over the edge, and I'm short about $75 for bills this month.

I'm doing everything in my power to earn that money before I end up back in the downward spiral of late fees and bank charges, but I'm running out of time. I found BegsList while I was looking online for help and information, and decided it can't do any harm to ask!

If you can send anything at all (even a quick prayer) it would really help, and would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much.

Working Mom w/IRS Garnishment - About to be Evicted...

Posted by lmb219 on 2011-04-07 14:58:17

Hello...

This has got to be the most humbling, humiliating experience ever. I just spent days creating a free website, not even knowing a site like this existed...Arrgghh!!!! Story of my life! Anyways, if you want the full gist of our story, please go to http://payitforwardtoday.webs.com. I'll try to be brief here. I figure if I'm going to ask total strangers for help, they have a right to know a little (or a lot!) about who they are helping. We are a family of 4 (plus our little Mini Daschund, who we'll call "Puppers" for the sake of privacy!) that have fallen on really hard times. We are not looking for hand outs; we are looking for a hand up! If you think it's not seriously earth shattering to realize that the best and only hope you have left is to air your dirty laundry to the world, and hope someone shows up with some detergent, then I really hope you never go through anything like this. I wouldn't wish our situation on my worst enemy on their worst day. It is truly soul crushing.

I am a wife and mother of 2 children, ages 9 and 21. Long and short of it, my oldest struggled A LOT. He was expelled from his school, and I forced him into the only other school that would take him, made him go every day until the time he got arrested. I picked up his diploma for him at his school, as he was in jail and couldn't go get it, but I am, to this day, glad that he has that diploma, and now, 4 years later, so is he. He was diagnosed as Bi-Polar while incarcerated, and mental can be so much tougher to deal with than physical. I'll always wish I had known the exact right point where his road changed to the one he travelled, and stopped it before it started. Now he is going to be a father himself, and all I can do is believe things will be ok (and wait anxiously to kiss all over my new Grandchild!!!!)

I got into trouble by with the IRS by filing taxes with my ex-husband for a couple of years. I didn't know any better, and though we were only married for a few years, and eventually had to part ways, his neglect to file or claim anything has haunted me for years. As I continued to work legitimately, his interest and penalties grew, and since the debt was considered uncollectible from him, the IRS opted to come after me. I was a single mother, unable to get child support, and losing my tax refunds to the IRS. When I reached 30, I met my current husband.

My husband has always been a hard worker, but he too has had his share of bad luck. He is a recovering alcoholic with 11 years of sobriety under his belt. His favorite catch phrase is "I'm the hardest working broke guy I know!", and it's so true. He is CONSTANTLY going; making phone calls, doing estimates, meeting with people to try to network and pick up more business. He does great work, and has had to really struggle to get his licenses, and maintain the insurances required to operate his business. He is in construction, and has had his own business (along with his partner) for about 5 years now. The past year has shown devastating loss. Basically, 9 out of 10 jobs have paid just enough to pay his 4 employees, and he and his partner end up taking home less than their employees. They are also having a hard time competing with "fly by night" construction companies who come in, promise the world for pennies on the dollar, and when they have problems a year later, the company is nowhere to be found. It's a constant battle to convince people that your workmanship and the warranty that backs it up, in addition to being a local contractor for 25+ years with a stellar reputation is worth it's weight in gold.

I am working at a really decent company now, and was thrilled to get my foot in the door. I wasn't there a month before the IRS decided to garnish my wages. Now, instead of the $500+ I would be taking home each week, I am bringing home a meager $123 per week. This has been our sole income for many weeks now, and after reviewing all of my paperwork, it appears the IRS feels I owe them in excess of $50,000!!!! This does NOT include the state taxes, which haven't caught up with me yet, but I'm sure they will. So, I have decided to stay working, even though unemployment would pay me more, because jobs are tough to come by. However, it's impossible trying to run a family by borrowing money from everyone we know, and no way to pay it back, because the money we bring in doesn't even pay the bills, the rent...it barely covers the groceries.

Can I add one more thing here? My husband, who's job is primarily getting up on a roof every day, was recently diagnosed with Vertigo. He can't drive right now, and even if jobs come in, he can't get on a roof anytime soon either. Reading through what I've written, I'm thinking to myself "I would SO think this is fake if I were reading it". I assure you, it's not. I'm not looking to bilk money from anyone, and I'm not promising anything to you in return. The only thing I AM promising is that you would honestly be helping a family in need. I know there are people worse off than us, and I thank GOD every day that I got to wake up in the morning, and that I have a family to love, and that loves me. I hope you never know how painful it is to tell your daughter that she can't go to gymnastics this time around because we don't have the money. I hope you never have to sleep on someones' couch with your child because your electricity is off, and you can't find anything valuable enough to pawn so you can pay it. I hope you never have to look in your husbands' eyes and see the pain and humiliation there because he feels he has failed your family. None of these things are things we asked to happen, but they all did. Could we have done anything differently? Sure. But who out there reading this right now has always chosen the right path? Who has NOT made errors along the way?

We are not looking to get rich. We are looking for a helping hand. We have always helped others when we have been able to, and are hoping there are others like us out there that feel the same. My primary goal is to collect enough to retain a tax attorney to help negotiate a settlement for me, so that I can finally contribute to my family, and take some pressure off of my husband. I am also hoping to pay off some utility bills we still owe, and March and Aprils' rent. That's it. Just looking to keep the little roof we rent over our heads. If we are able to get back on our feet, we'd like to pay it forward ourselves...one person, one family at a time.

Thanks for listening to the story of a stranger, and if you've got even a dollar or 2 to spare, we'd be really grateful. I'm sorry this is all over the map, but I'm not a writer, nor even a college grad. I'm a regular person fallen on hard times, and doing anything I can to get some help for my family.

Peace.

A friend of mine told me about Begslist and told me to post a plea for help. Hi!! My name is Linda. Three weeks ago my apartment complex in South Philly was destroyed by a 3-alarm fire. I was not home at the time when the fire started. When I came home, I stood in disbelief while my home of two years was burning. Most of all the apartments, including mine were heavily damaged. The fire marshall gave some of us only a brief amount of time to retrieve what we could carry and leave. I told the marshall where my apartment was and he told me that area was a complete loss and I could not retrieve anything. I was referred to a hotel nearby as a temporary shelter paid for by a non-profit group helping the fire victims until they set me up with a homeless shelter. I am still at that homeless shelter. Thanks to the non-profit group, I have some clothes and shoes. I have very little or no pocket money. Some of the money I had stashed away at the apartment was lost along with some valuable possessions. Although my job is part-time and pays very little, I could not afford renters or fire insurance because it interfered with the rent, utilities etc.. I have nightmares about that fire everyday. It has left me emotionally depressed. I'm asking anyone reading this posting to please donate what you can. Even if its $1, $5, $10, whatever, your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
