Posted by Molly-Rose on 2012-05-21 08:58:21

Hi, my names Molly. I live in central QLD, Australia. I'm currently trying to support myself in my little country town. I'm working my way through Uni to become a nurse and better the lives of others. I'm broke due to school fees + rent. I'm behind about 4 weeks in rent and haven't a clue as to what I can do.
Any help would be appreciated. Lately it's been 1 bad thing after another and I need to get ahead. Thank you so much in advance; <3

Please help this scam victim!

I desperately need financial help. =(

I am 22 years old and still studying at uni. I never had money issue before. This was until I got a job which instead of providing for my needs, it has been my biggest nightmare.
I got scammed for over $50,000. Now not only can I hardly afford to pay my rent, I also owe even more money to the bank. I have no idea how long it's going to take for me to pay it all back. I still have to finish my study and I am working part-time. I don't come from a rich family. I couldn't tell me parents because I know they've got their own debts. I really wish I never took that job. But it's too late now.

This is not me. All I can imagine now is a dark future. Now, I'm always worried, stressed and depressed.

With all my heart, please help me! Every $ you're willing to contribute will reduce my burden.

Thank you for reading! Hope you can feel how I feel and are willing to help, even just a little.

Thank you again!
God bless!

I lost weight but now my body is ruined.

After the death of my father when I was 12 I started eating for comfort. I was badly bullied at school and eventually dropped out. By the time I was 20 I was 400lbs, unemployed with no prospects.

I decided to go to uni to become a counselor so I could help others, and set my mind to losing weight. I'm 25 now, and have recently hit my goal weight of 140lbs. I did this all through hard work and exercise.

Sadly, my skin never recovered from being so overweight. I hoped that when I lost weight I'd have the confidence to meet someone but I am even more ashamed of my body than ever. The doctor said I wouldn't be able to get any surgery to get rid of the loose skin on the NHS (ironically he said if I'd have gone the gastric band route at a cost to the NHS then I would probably have got funding for this.)

If anyone would like to help me by donating towards my surgery I would be forever grateful. I just want to be able to live a normal life.

"I'll pay it off when..."

Posted by totallyscrewed on 2012-02-10 11:58:44

Hello people of the internet!

My story isn't as tragic as a lot of people's on here. I am not ill, no one is dying and I do not have a spouse or family to support.

I am, however, quite simply up shit creek.

As a student I was pretty financially screwed. I worked in a bar but still struggled to pay my rent and bills so I constantly put groceries, bills and general life expenses on my credit card thinking "I'll pay it off when I finish uni".

As the years went by this "I'll pay it off when..." became a mantra and I continued to put various items on credit when I "needed" to. From paying for my round in the pub to trips away and buying books on eBay I now owe around $30,000 I think. I can't even look at my statements any more.

I am now working as a special education teacher, which is a job I love with all my heart, and going to work everyday and making kids happy keeps me going.
Unfortunately my salary is a bit crap, and after rent, bills and food I actually can't pay my minimum repayments on my credit debt. I pay my bills when I get paid and then live off my credit cards because I have no money left.

I have looked into various debt consolidation/IVA/bankruptcy/personal loan options and unfortunately none of them are available to me or going to make my situation any better. I have even recently toyed with the idea of just not paying my debts and letting the debt collectors come after me, but my registered banking address is also my parent's address and the thought of the stress and worry that all of this would cause my parents makes that the worst option of all.

It seems that begging has become my last resort.

Please help.
Hey guys,
I know that by the title, I might sound like a stereotypical student who wastes a ton of money on alcohol and didn't save anything up ready for this problem. I worked all summer in preparation for uni and managed to save a fair amount which I have been using to live on for the past few months. As that money is nearly gone, I have found rather a big issue when looking for a house for next year.

After I was given my loan from Student Finance, I found that most of that money paid off my accommodation for this year with only a very little towards my actual food and living money. My mum is a single parent since my dad died when I was 11 (Nope, I'm not going for the sympathy vote, no worries, just want you to know the full picture!) and she can barely send me money as it is and I don't like to ask her as she has to support my brother already.
I've now found out I need to put down a £360 deposit on a house that I do not have and do not know how I will get it. The money needs to be paid in May and whilst I have sent out a ton of CVs, there seems to be nothing. I'd do anything for a job but as I cannot find one and I do not want to ask my mum for even more money, I'd love it if you could donate, even just a little bit, so I do not end up homeless come September. I know it's a lot of money to ask for but anything would honestly help me out and I would thank you for every single penny.
Hope you can help :) Hana

Hard-working single mum studying for a brighter future

Posted by alanaperry on 2012-01-25 08:58:14

Hey and thank you for reading!
A little about me; My name is Alana, I am 26 years old and am privileged enough to have two beautiful children aged 6 and 3 who make life so much more bearable when life get's me feeling a little blue.

I've always been hard-working and took evening college classes after working during the day and juggling being a mummy, then passed last year with a distinction enabling me to go to university where I am studying English and History with high hopes for a future in teaching at college level.

So far I have achieved 2:1's in all of my assignments and have just got feedback that I have gained my first 1st in an essay, so my commitment and enthusiasm and sky high right now! Not to mention that my son is so proud of my going to 'grown-up school'and I just hope that I can give us a better future and be an inspirational role model to my children as they grow up.

Like most students I stay up till 2am to complete assignments, and during the day I attend classes, lectures and school runs plus the usual mummy stuff, so my hectic schedule means that I am always kept busy!

I am asking for a little help as although I have kept my family in the same home and our living cost's haven't changed, my diesel costs have quadrupled and my income has decreased significantly. I am making ends meet by requesting every bursary, repayable student loan and any other means of repayable help I can find, but I'm about to start my second semester at uni without any of my reading list books; this totals somewhere in the region of £300 for the remaining term.

I want to do everything In can to ensure I make the most of this opportunity to do the best that I can, and whilst I have used the library and bought second-hand books where I can, most aren't readily available.

So if anyone reading this would like to help me out, I would appreciate it more than I could express in this message, and will respond to every single donation! Any little amount would be a blessing, even the pennies count! I can't cut back any more of my outgoings.

Thank you so much for reading this far! Here's to working hard for a better future! Yours gratefully, Alana and her little (monsters) angels

15 Years of debt

Posted by kaylouuk on 2012-01-24 08:58:15

When I was young I went to university and suffered with severe depression due to the fact I was struggling to pay bills, I worked at a fast food chain to assist, but this only helped a little towards my living cost. he depression meant I had to leave uni, a decision I actually do not regret as my health is now back to normal. I am however still struggling to pay the debts from my uni days and don’t see how this will end unless I win the lotto. It’s a never-ending circle as these debts are preventing me moving forward in the future. I ask if anybody could spare just a small amount I would be eternally grateful. I also have made a promise to myself that when I am back in the black I will definitely give to others. I thank you so much for your time 
Hello Everyone!

My name is Trent Mahoney and I have been selected along with fellow University Students to travel to Fiji later this year, to work as volunteers on various areas that will help to improve the lives of relatively impoverished Fijian villagers.

The organisation running this important project is called VESA (Volunteer Eco Students Abroad) and you can view their website here:

http://vesabroad.com.au/volunteering

This organisation is not actually a "Registered Charity" as such, so any donations you kindly make will not be "Tax Deductible" as charity donations...but I hope that does not deter you from helping me raise the funds I need.

The REASON I need to raise funds (as do all my Fellow Uni. Students that have been selected!), is that I (we) need to help PAY for the cost of our travel expenses and accommodation whilst IN Fiji, doing our important volunteer work!

PLEASE...help me, as I am (as I said) a University Student (full time!) and I have VERY limited income from only a part-time job on the weekend, which barely pays for my general living expenses. Also, my Mum and Dad (divorced) are single income earners...on pretty mediocre incomes and can do little to help me themselves personally...to raise the funds I need!

Please help me...I really want to do this volunteering work and will NOT be able to go, unless I can help to offset the cost of my expenses in getting and staying there!

Kind Regards: TRENT.

I NEED £800 FOR A FEW MONTHS. GUARANTEED IOU.

Posted by p1988 on 2011-03-11 12:58:47

I really need £800 for 5 months.
I'd be happy to draw up a contract for the money and will have it back to you within 5 months.

I'm a hardworking student at a top 5 uk university. I work part time 3 days a week, have started my own business to help make ends meet and am still struggling. I've done jobs in the past as security, retail, high pressure sales, cleaning, HR and recruitment, and am a credible genuine person making a call for help.

I have credit card debts amounting to £800 from 2 lenders, accrued during my time at uni.

Now I cannot afford rent, food, water/gas/electric bills and have lived a basic lifestyle for over 4 years now (even before uni). I don't waste money, but I'm genuinely in need now.

I don't spend money buying the finest food but live off ALDI/LIDL/basics line of food (ie can of beans - 10p). I don't own expensive clothes and only shop at primark. I don't gamble, drink or take drugs, and am a hardworking person just struggling to catch a break.

Any offers would be greatly appreciated at any level.

I completely understand that there are many more people out there who probably are more worthy, but I will pay every penny back, and will even pay interest on top at 10% for 5 months - returning you £880 by the end of September.

Kindest Regards,
A man in need.

Help me clear my debt!

Posted by brownesugar on 2010-07-15 07:58:58

I'm an English girl O went to Uni and got a degree in English and Drama and I'm in so much debt I have £5000 to clear before I can move to the states where I want to teach. Please help me clear this and make my dream come true.
I'm willing to be 'sponsored' and keep people updated with my progress.
I am a student and I can't pay my rent and have been told that unless its in by the end of the month I will be sued. Although paying rent is my priority, I also cant pay my bills or pay for food. I have lost my job due to being made downsizing and the recession, and my student loan does not cover my living costs because I don't qualify for the full amount because of my mum's income, but she is a single parent and all her money goes on her mortgage and feeding my 11 year old brother. I can not afford to live any more and the bank wont give me any more money. I never spend money on silly things like most students; I haven't been shopping for clothes etc in over a year. I don't know what to do; I am stuck in a contract on my rent so if I dropped out of uni I still can't afford to live. Please help. I am desperate. I don't know what to do, and can't get a job. I have worked very hard to get to university, getting top grades but its all going wrong. Please please help.
Feel free to contact me at abrasivelemming@hotmail.com if you think you can spare even 1 dollar. It would mean a lot and give me hope.
Thank you.
