I have graduated in April 2008 with a Bachelor Degree in Human Biology. I worked in the Healthcare Industry for several years. I am currently unemployed sine my company went bankrupt and can not find a job that pays decent so I can make my student loan payments that are $670 per month and support my family. I have $58,000 in student loan debt the original balance was around 40,000 but I had to stop making payments until last year because I could not make a living at all with a $12/hr job to pay for mortgage and other living expenses. Sallie Mae is just saying that they can not do anything about it the only thing I can do is pay interest only and reduce my payment by like $200 and that is for 30 years. Please help me get out of this burden sometimes I ask myself why I ever went to school and if it was really worth it all because some of my friends that have no school are doing better than I am. I guess that is they way you live the American Dream!! This is just crazy that there is no law that protects students when they are in situations like this especially in a economic crisis. Please, I really want to be able to save my marriage, house and be able to provide for my daugther. If anyone is reading this and is willing to donate I would really appreciate anything you give. Also I understand that there are much worse situations out there and people in a greater need of help that is also understandable however I will end up on the street and my loan will go int default if I can not make the payment and I dont think it can get worse than that as far as student loans are concerned and Financial problems. I am middle child of three brothers. Currently, my older brother and I are currently unemployed looking desperately to find a job again. Back in November, my mother was diagnosed with acute leukemia. A day after she was diagnosed she had a stroke and my mother has not been the same since. The stroke caused a condition called "Broca's Apasia" which affects the speech part of your brain. Basically with this condition she can understand everything spoken to her, but it's her finding those words to speak back which has been affected. No complete sentence hardly ever. Well my brother and I quit our jobs to become her caretakers at home. In to a few weeks of this we had to take her to intensive care at MD Anderson because she had developed MRSA infection (Hostpital Super-Bug), and she went into septic shock. Septic shock summed up is your organs going into failure. She was put into a sedated coma for a little over a month. She was then slowly brought out of the coma and transferred to a ICU at a Hospice/Rehabilitation Facility where the doctors estimated her recovery program to take 2-3 years. We all now how much money this will accumulate to. Her insurance is fixing to run out, and when she is put on medicaid they can take all of her assets to cover medical costs. So my brother and I had to put our house (Mom's House) up for sale so they wont take the house to cover her medical costs. If the house sells right now while my brother and I are unemployed we will be homeless. I dont know how or if websites like this really recieve donations, but it is worth a try. I am all out of options. Thanks for reading my story!

I am needing $500.00 for my rent which is due on June 9. I am trying to get disability from Social Security but I have not heard anything from them in about a month. I am unemployed and I am not eligable for unemployment benefits. I only have $50.00 left in my checking account. If I don't have the money I will have to leave the apt. that has been home for over 11 years. I have no where to go.

Hi. I was honorably discharged from the Air Force in Jan and I am struggling to pay for food, rent, and car bill. I have been eating bread for the past week because I cannot afford anything else. My savings is gone because I have been unable to find a job. I looked to the VA for assistance but I am not qualified. If someone could please help me out, I have $0.35 cents in my account. No way of paying my $917 rent due by the 3rd of June. And my car bill. I will be living in my car if I do not get some help. I've applied for unemployment and food stamps and I am not qualified.
Any help, even if its $1, would help me out greatly. I need food, I do not have enough bread to last me till next week.
I've served my country and I have been left alone to fend for myself. Please help.

I am hoping someone out there can help my family. My husband and I have 6 children ages 1,3,5,6,14,and 16. My husband has been out of work almost a year now and unemployment ran out months ago. Not sure exactly how that works, but I've talked to 4 different people 4 different times and they have all told me the same thing, I am not qualified. I recently lost my job and was forced to give up my apartment and move back in with my mother, who lives in another state. I had nothing to do with her for a number years, as she was/is extremely abusive, but being unemployed and close to homelessness I was running out of options and she promised she'd changed and would help me get back on my feet. Unfortunately she lied, and my life has been hell ever since. She refuses even to let me leave the house and constantly tells me how worthless I am, and keeps me up half the night screaming at me. I don't have any friends to turn to and at this point I'd rather be homeless than deal with my mother anymore. I understand there are lot of people on here who need help, but all I'm asking for is a Greyhound bus ticket so I can finally escape. I've looked online and a ticket would cost about $200 from where I am to New York, which is where I used to live. But any assistance at all would be greatly appreciated!!! I'd also pay you back as soon as I was able to. Thank you.

First of all, I'm terribly sorry for my bad english. I'm a portuguese man and recently I had the most wonderful news, I'm going to be a dad... unfortunately, I'm unemployed and so is my wife.
I need help to start buying some basic things for the child, and I've absolutely no chance of credit (I've already made one) with the portuguese banks. Any help will be extremely valuable... I want to keep this baby and if I can't provide a good environment the government will take the baby from us... Please help.

My family of three (Husband, 5 year old son, and myself) are in some serious financial debt right now, and is in the process of possibly being evicted if our rent and bills are not paid. We were not that far behind until my husband lost his only form of income (unemployment) a month ago, and has still not been able to find a job due to this economy. We are struggling to even keep our lights on, my husband and myself have been taking side jobs to earn extra money, just so that we can assure our son eats. We are not asking to live a lavish lifestyle from what we are now, we just want to know that we can by the grace of GOD turn our situation around to where our precious son can keep a roof over his head.

We were full time college students until we had to drop out, in order to try and make sure that we stay afloat. So now we also have student loans in default, as well. Things seem to be piling up left and right, and honestly I feel like I'm beginning to drown in all the stress.

I am just looking for some help, for my beautiful family.
