I am a married 59 year old disabled man. My wife is also disabled. I paid into Social Security and Federal taxes for 34 years and served my country during the Iran Hostage crisis. While getting my 50 year physical exam my bloodwork and a biospy ended up putting me through 2 chemos for my liver. Even though I wasn't cured we seemed to have stopped the progression of the disease. While going through this living hell our government would not approve my Social Security disability until I was completely penniless. My claim was finally approved after 2 years with no income or money. The judge who approved my claim was appalled that the SS Administration waited so long to approve someone over 55 with a 34 year work history. I was found 100% disabled due to a condition that ends in death. It's pretty obvious they were waiting to see if I would die! Now I do have some income which I am thankful for but it doesn't cover all my expenses. If all I had was general bills like gas, water, electric, car ins. and food I could make ends meet. I am struggling to pay my property tax. I own my home which my father built after WWII. My property tax is billed every 6 months and is over $1000.00 semi-anually my monthly check is only $1300.00 which barely covers the regular bills. Right now I am barely staying ahead of the threats to sell my home for back taxes. I applied for the Homestead Act property tax exemption for seniors and the disabled where they can deduct up to $25000.00 from the value of your home and tax that amount. The average person in my state saves $400.00 a year on this program according to their website. When my tax bill came this exemption only reduced my taxes by $164.00 a year. That's only $82.00 from each semi-annual government extortion. First I was forced to exhaust my life savings before they would approve my disability now this. I must figure a way to supplement my income. I have paid my dues and shouldn't have to struggle and deal with such heavy stress at this stage of my life. These are supposed to be pleasant years when you've lived right. Please, HELP!

Hello again. I am the author of the post titled Tuition Troubles and am here again posting another ad about my problem of trying to find a way to pay for tuition coming up in the spring. If you have not read it yet, please do and then come back and read this one.

I have gotten more and more desperate to find some help. On top of everything I said in my last post, I have recently found out that this college stock my mom was counting on to give me a little help with my tuition is almost worthless now. She had been hoping that the economy would improve and the stock would gain money, but now it looks like this is not to be. She had kept this from me until now because she didn't want to upset me. I don't know how I will ever get to go to college now. I will feel so horrible if I have to take out big loans with their interest rates and then have my parents spend their retirement money on it. 

If there is any way you can donate something I would very much appreciate it. Also if you have any information on the least expensive student loans or other ways I might be able to receive help besides financial aid or earn large sums of money fast or know anything that might be some help to me please leave a comment. I have a special needs child in my care, and I am struggling to make ends meet, as I lost my job a month and a half ago. We are trying to stay out of a shelter, because he would likely spiral out of control in that environment. I have some promising leads for employment, but the likelihood is that I will run out of resources before any of them come to fruition. We are presently living in a motel, and landlords are understandably hesitant to rent to a tenant with shaky employment.

I am struggling to make ends meet, as I went on unemployment six weeks ago, and the amount I get a week is about $100 less than my rent in a motel for a week. I may be returning to work in a week, but even then it will be three weeks before I get a paycheck. Selling copies of this book could keep my son and I out of a homeless shelter. I drive a 1995 Mustang GT. With gas prices well over $4 a gallon, I'm putting in gas every week - $240 a month now and my schooling doesn't start until October. My car IS paid off, but I drive 20 miles every day for work (which is commission, so sometimes I work and make $0) and my nursing school will be about 15+ miles away on top of that. Not to mention when clinicals start I will be all over the place here. That's more than a brand new car payment every month in gas. So I titled this chipin event to include a car. Basically, any money donated will go towards my tuition and/or a car with better gas mileage.

My tuition costs are a little more than $50,000 for my 2 year bachelor program. Just know that any donation you make will not only help me, but help save many lives in the future. With your help, I will be able to get through schooling and pay it forward by saving lives every single day. And I appreciate ANYTHING given, even if it's 50 cents.

Even though I need the money myself, I plan to 'pay it forward' by donating some here and there on this site.

Sadly back in January of this year i was struck down with a very painful hip condition,Fortunatly i will recover from this but the consultants have said it will be between 6 to 12 months .Im currently on crutches so my mobility is not great and the problem is my poor wife is working herself into the ground just to put food on the table and a to keep a roof over our heads.What would be great if anybody out there could please donate an amount that they are happy to give to us,We also have an eleven year old boy who's birthday is on the 16th of April and it would be nice to give him a small gift that he likes although he does understand the situation.Because i don't feel that comfortable taking something for nothing i have also got a proposition if anybody out there is into art,At this moment in time i have one of my early pieces up for sale on ebay so you could purchase this it is selling at £4,900 and is under pastel drawings titled "The Monster Within".But any donation would be greatly appreciated by myself and my family just to ease the financial burden.
