I want to help my family save our home
Posted by youthhelp on 2012-03-14 13:58:12
Hello, my name is Racheal. I am a sophomore in college studying theater arts. I want to help my dad save our house. Its facing foreclosure and we have no where to go. My mother is an alcoholic and lives in a 2 bedroom apartment with four other people. My dad was a victim of fraud and entered into a bad loan with country wide. I have two jobs and am a student, I have tried to help but it doesn't seem to do much. I am hoping that when you read this you are willing to give a donation, any amount helps and I will work in exchange for it if you would like. Thank you for time stranger.
Help: Son wants to take his mother to the movies/lunch as a belated birthday gift
Posted by intisar on 2011-11-23 21:58:51
My mother's birthday was last Saturday (11/19), and I wanted to take her to see "Twilight: Breaking Dawn" and have lunch. But I didn't have any money. We've been struggling for a while, and the little money we make goes towards our gas/mortgage payments. It would really make her happy if she were able to see the latest "Twilight" in the theater instead of Redbox or Netflix.
I am seeking anywhere between $25-$50 which would be enough for me to treat her to a nice afternoon as a belated gift. I would be most grateful of any help.

Need to catch up on a couple bills
Posted by billstopay on 2011-10-24 18:58:28
Hello everyone,
About Me/My Situation:
Started a small computer service business in 2006 after being laid off from my regular job after 6 years. Managed to stay afloat until mid summer 2010 when I lost the contracts that provided 90% or more of my business and I had no money to go out on my own and obtain new contracts or more new customers. I was owed some money for work performed ( about $7,000) I will not be seeing any of that money.
After a while I started selling my possessions and items that my family had given me to sell, mostly accumulated junk like computer parts, beer steins that I had collected and other things at a weekly flea market, I cut down all my bills as much as I could. I looked for jobs for months. I borrow way too much money from my family as they could not really afford to lend it to me but they did. My parents and my brother also loaned me their cars when after i had to turn in my company owned vehicle leaving me without a mode of transportation. After a couple months of borrow cars I used whatever money I had managed to save and some money from an insurance claim to pick up a 15 year old vehicle for myself.
In November 2010 I obtained a full time tech job and a part time counter help job at the local movie theater. Even with two jobs I was still making much less that I use to and much less than I needed to pay my bills.
Finally I ended up filing for bankruptcy, "unofficially" close my business (turn in business vehicle leaving me without a vehicle) and recently just had most of my debts discharged, BUT I still need to catch up on a couple thing that the bankruptcy would not cover.
What I need:
1. Need to catch up on my condo fees --- about $1,000
2. My property taxes are about 2 years behind ---- $1,800
3. My heat, hot water and electric bills are past due --- $500
4. I need to officially close my business with the state which includes filing my annual report for the last two years ---- $1,000
Total I am need of is $4,300 I don't expect to receive all of this if any, but it did give me a chance to sort of vent while I typed this out.
Thank you to all who read this and thank you in advance to all who may donate.
Once I get caught up on these few items I should be good to go and would be able to stay caught up.

Im a 23 year old father to my baby son and husband to my beautiful wife. We have been together for four years and recently had a baby boy come into our lives. Ive been on my own since 13 ive never met my father as he cheated on my mom when i was a baby and they went through a divorce. It always stuck with my mom and she lost interest in a lot of things and was depressed She abandoned me when i was about 13 and started dating a drug dealer in modesto i moved in with some of my friends and did the best to raise myself i did a lot of bad things when i was younger i had no role models and did whatever i could to survive and i never got to experience a lot of things like sports baseball football i didnt have money for equipment and stuff and no time i was always busy trying to get money for clothes i used to eat our schools one dollar lunch everyday. By the time i was 18 i met the girl of my dreams at a local movie theater she was from the philipines and was petitioned by her family and was staying with a local governement housing at the time. I started turning my life around for the positive and learned a few trades and took a few classes and workshops for building. at 19 i was working as an assistant to a private contractor i learned everything i needed to know and by the time of 20 i was doing private work myself and at 21 i got my first house with the luck of a friend who worked as a realator. We used to live in the central valley Fresno Ca to be exact and we owned a two bedroom one bath house. We had one truck was a Chevy pickup 1500 i used for work and our family car it was paid off. The economy hit hard in the central valley and many contractors went out of work and the prices of homes dropped and our home was foreclosed as we couldnt make the payment and we lost everything. We remained positive with all the negative that happened and we were homeless for a while we sleeped at a church while selling what little furniture we had from our house and save. At the time my wife was pregnant and we were ready to start our family and everything went wrong. We did what was right kept our baby and after talking we moved to the central coast there was no opportunity in the central valley as a lot of businesses went down and everything was going bad. We moved to another one of the churches branches so that i could get on my feet over in Monterey. I quickly got a job as a Server at a private restaurant after applying for many jobs i dont make much and after a few months our baby was born at this time we were able to get a one room studio its very small but rent is so expensive $750 my number one priority is my son and providing i work three days at the restaurant and on my days off i offer services on craigslist to help fix computers car detailing and early mornings i get up at 6am and go to the local home depot and look for work lots of builders go there and sometimes they need extra help. Unfortunately im younger and rarely get picked compared to older because they dont think im experienced i was lucky to get a few jobs though as side work past few months. My wife stays home and cares for the baby since we have no family to help out she cant work at this time. Im doing my best to provide we have no tv no internet no computer nothing except a bed crib a few cooking supplies and a fridge ironing board and iron but were content. But sometimes work is slow and we had no money for food and we have gone to local shelters for food. We mostely eat rice and pastas since its cheap. We only buy expensive foods for the baby and only have cell phones. I had to sell my truck a while back and have recently got an old small honda i cant even afford to put tires on at this time. Im doing my best and taking day to day with the hope something good will happenen. Work is slow and i have no family at all and my wifes family is very poor in the philipines. I did my best to sumarize my life and try to prove i am a real person in a real situation and im in need at this time. Any and everything helps. My family thanks you.

Hi, I am looking to get myself and my Mom some theater tickets to see Mary Poppins but they are so expensive! I want to do something special for her for once and I would appreciate any help! The total looks to be about $140 dollars and this is a good deal, but it won't last forever, so I don't have long to come up with it! Anything would help, so please help me spend some quality time with my Mom. I'm very thankful and hopeful that I'll get some financial assistance here.
Please Help With My Dream, I Promise to Give Back

Ever since I was in middle school, I've wanted to attend NYU Tisch School of the Arts for Music Theater. Now half of my dream has come true! I have been accepted into their program! Unfortunately, I cannot pay for it. After my aid awards, expenses are $40,000 a year, and I can't take out a lot of loans! My dad lives in Peru and never sends me a dime, my grandma is ill and unemployed, and my mom is a teacher who is currently undergoing a salary freeze. As the child of a single parent, I have don't necessarily have the funds to pay for my education! My mom can't take out any loans, so all of the loans would be in my name, and there is no way I can ever pay off all this money! I'm Latin American, fluent in spanish, have a 104% cumulative GPA, am second in my class, have a 2200 cumulative SAT score, almost 300 hours of community service, volunteer for four organizations, have one lots of random awards/honors...do I really need to say more? I've worked my butt off to get this far! And all of this hard work has sadly reaped very little aid. Please, if you have any extra cash, help me go to college!
Please, help me go to college!

Formerly homless, mentally ill man striving to make a difference
Posted by latitude on 2010-09-28 21:58:58
Hello! Let me introduce myself. I am a professional actor, musician, director, producer, teacher, and model.... In addition to that I am recovering from two mental health diagnosis and am in a program specifically to help those with my condition rehabilitate from chronic homelesssness. I am blessed with affordable housing, medications, doctors, etc. but- Due to my doctors recommendatation of not holding a regular job- I am constantly strapped for covering even the most basic of my financial needs- food, toilet paper, etc. But, I can deal with that. What I have a hard time dealing with is the fact that I have so much more to offer this world- I have a vision for my life- I am not my illness. I want to open a live theater complex with resturants specifically to reach out to the starving artisits and at risk young adults and teach them how to take PRIDE in themselves- Persistence Responsibility Interest Dedication, and Enthusiasm. I know that there is someone out there who will take a risk, and believe in me. I know that there is someone who believes, like I do, that God has a specific purpose for me being here, and that it is time for that vision to happen. I would love help of any kind- money, car, food, you name it- I'm ready to quit struggeling and start building the dream that God has given me! I know every detail of what I need to do- down to the color of the carpet and who to have on staff... Now I just need to get out of this financial slump and start living the abundant life! Please help!
Former homeless with mental illness trying to get back on his feet
Posted by Ericpiano on 2010-07-05 19:58:58
I am now stable and am trying to get back on my feet. I have a desire to start a theater company and have the skills and training to do so, however due to my past with my bipolar disorder people wont take me seriously. I am now stable, thanks to a tremendous support system. I need as much money as possible, both to pay current bills and to build my dream. I am trust worthy and would even be willing to pay the money back once I start bringing in income. I believe in taking PRIDE in myself PERSISTENCE, RESPONSIBILITY, DEDICATION, INTEREST, and ENTHUSTIASM. I have medical and mental difficultiess that make it difficult to get a "job Job" but I know that I can do this! Please help in any way that you can. Even a penny helps. Every penny leads to the million that I need! Thanks!
