Posted by mjc102853 on 2012-05-14 14:58:40

Please help me I am in a really bad spot. In 2006 husband died..we owned an internet cafe. In 2007 I closed cafe & started looking for another IT job...no luck even for data entry or help desk (still looking but am told I don't have current skills & no money to get update/education). Tried to sell off all store stock & in 2009 Ebay/Craig's list sales became slim. Cashed in bonds/savings acts/401k/stocks to make ends meet. Eventually in 2010 no more corners to take from & part-time jobs just not meeting all obligations. Now son-in-law in AZ has health problems & daughter+2 grandaughters need help desperately. He had gall bladder removed a year ago & he is one of a few that cannot easily live without it...having really tough time with digestion & weight loss. No time to sell everything. Our marraige suffers because of that affair that crippled my soul in 08/09. I am embarresed that our 11yr relationship problems have made me extreamly depressed. I have been let go from my job and find it hard to hold my head up and face the public. I am despreat to give our children a better life. We live in a crime filled city and we are not criminals. Most of the homes are vacent and delapodated on our street. I am scared of our rowdy neighbors who argue alot. We want to move out of this terrible house that has broken us financaly for the last 6 years, and city that is crime filled or at least be comfortable in it. I have no siblings and my parents are not well. My husbands family have compleatly ignored me and our family and he does not speak to them for that. I think they dont want our family problems to spill over. Help me please with some hundreds or thousands to save the childrens livelyhoods 313-733-7770.

I am a 29 yearold divorced father who is financial doom. i was married young, and divorced young. my wife was physically abusive for a long time but because of the way that the legal system works, she has custody of our 7 year old son. i was taking online classes while married, and when my wife and i split up after the last beating she gave me, she took the computer and i didnt get to finish school, because i was in a town where i knew nobody but my ex wife and her family and i didnt have a computer to do my work on. i am now $30,000 in debt because of the student loans that i took out and i have no way to pay them back and still pay my bills because i never got to finish. i had a 4.0 grade point average when i had to stop. after the divorce i moved back to my home town and and got a good factory job, soon after my wages started to be garnished because of the school loans. i was only bring home around $100 for a 50 hour work week. i couldnt afford to pay my bills and eat. and it wouldve taken 11 years of garnishment to erase my debt. i would file bankrupsy but i cant afford a lawyer. i am now waiting tables because they cant garnish the cash i make, but it barely enough to pay my bills, and my financial situation will never get fixed. my son is my best friend, he was 3 when we divorced and e is 7 now. he have maintained a close relationship in the years since the divorce and i would eventually like to have the finiancial ability to fight for custody to get him away from his abusive mother and give him the attention that he deserves. my hope and prayer is that someone who has the ability, kindness, and interest in my little life, will make a contribution to make ita little easier to live.

Help maintain a place for our children.

Hello,

As someone who is in a leadership position at YourCompany, I know that you’re pressed for time. But please, could you give me your full attention for the next 30 seconds as you read this letter?

You see, the children at Plainfield 5 Star Gym would like to continue to have a place to call theirs this year. But you know how it is: government budget cuts, on top of too-small budgets in the first place, have combined to make it impossible for them to be able to do so.

Unless someone steps in to help them. And that’s where you come in.

The benefits of being at Plainfield 5 Star Gym are priceless: teaching children about the wonders of self esteem and motivating them to learn about their ability to achieve goals with discipline is one of the best ways they can learn about themselves and develop their interests, leading to future careers in hundreds of fields.

By helping the children at Plainfield 5 Star Gym to be able to have a place to retreat , you are not just helping them, but you’re also investing in the long-term future health of your community and even your company. A healthy, well-trained workforce is the most valuable asset at any company, and by helping our children to have gym they so desperately desire, you will be planting seeds for future employees loyal to your company.

Not only that, by contributing you will also be receiving free advertising and positive public relations in the community. That’s because we will post your name in the program for the boxing events , as well as on any materials produced promoting the amateur events. To top it all off, we will have a “Partner Wall,” bearing the names of all the contributors to the gym, which will be prominently displayed at the boxing events itself.

By contributing towards the boxing gym in Plainfield you can help our children immeasurably, receive free advertising and promotion for your company and feel good about it all!

Would you please help? We’re are out funds to pay the rent for our gym. We need to raise a total of $50,000.00, which will cover the cost of 50 children from the community to attend without cost, rent, equipment rentals, presentation tables and chair rentals, printed materials like entry forms and flyers .

Any amount you’re willing to donate will be greatly appreciated!

Please contact Rich Johnson at 908 447 7174 to find out how we can work together to give our children the best opportunities to succeed while giving your company the exposure it deserves for helping us out.

Hope to hear from you and thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Rich Johnson

PS: In lieu of a financial donation, we’d be happy to accept any donation in form of donated items or services. Please contact Rich Johnson 908 447-7174 to find out what items or services will be needed to maintain a place for our children.

Getting a divorce from habitual liar. HELP!

Posted by ThisFamilyNeedsHelp on 2011-12-06 13:58:11

Please help! 37 year old mother of a 5 yr old and a 12 yr old is getting a divorce from my habitual liar husband. I thought I married the man I would spend the rest of my life with, I had planned on only doing it once. I do not work right now. I was doing hair when we met and he wanted me to quit and stay home with our son until he started school. I saw that our relationship was heading downhill and not getting any better and decided I need to go back to school to finish my Bachelor degree in Business Management. I am hoping to finish up by July or October of next year, 2012. I want to open my own business so I can support my wonderful children and give them the things they need and some of the things they want. My 2 children and I, along with our 2 small dogs, had to move in with my mother, uncle, grandmother, and brother. We have been here for a year on Dec 10th and have been separated from my husband that long. He has given me very little money for support in the past year, spent all the tax return, took out a loan on my previously paid off vehicle and spent that money, and ended up getting me in trouble with a bad check to our previous landlord. We had a 2007 Dodge Ram Quad cab, I was primary on the loan, he was secondary, and he said he was trading it in for a Chevy Equinox, better gas mileage and cheaper payments. this was 3 months ago. I am now realizing, how can you trade in a vehicle when the other person on the loan never signed the papers? So now I have people calling me saying they are coming after me for the Dodge truck. I have no clue what I'm going to have to or be able to do on that.

He put a bunch of our stuff in storage when we separated, we moved to Missouri with my mom and he moved in with a friend in Iowa and then LOST it, so I don't have a lot of stuff I've worked for and had before we even met. The list of stuff he lost...5 seat sectional with chaise lounger, 37" flat screen tv, PS2 and about 12 games, Wii and 2 games, new surround sound, 5 disc stereo system, new bluray player, box of my season dvds like Smallville, Friends, One Tree Hill and ER, a huge box of my Disney VHS that I had been collecting since high school, nice new short entertainment center, 2 end tables, 2 lamps, washer and dryer, refrigerator, tall dining table with chairs, vacuum, electric can opener, butcher block knife set, corelware dishes, stainless steel pots and pan set, toaster, king bed, bookcase, desk, riding lawnmower, 2 weed eaters, etc. I probably could keep going.

I'm living on the good will and love my family offers and my small student loan refunds. I get NO child support. I am looking to pay off $15,000 in student loans, the $6200 loan on my Tahoe, the $1100 bad check and a couple hundred in lawyer fees, and the $1,400 Target Visa he ran up and let go bad. I need 4 new tires, an alignment, and a new windshield on the Tahoe. I would like to build my children and I a house in the next 3-4 years.

My goals...
~ Finish my BSBA in Management, end of 2012.
~ Thinking about getting my MBA.
~ Open my business, if you are interested I can tell you about it. Looking for potential investors. Working toward fall of 2012, may have to be fall of 2013.
~ Build my kids and I a house, which my mother will eventually come live with us. Right now she is taking care of my grandmother. If my business takes off like I foresee, I would like to build as I have the money so I don't have a mortgage, or put 50% down and get a loan for the rest.
~Be happy in life!

I am an honest Christian woman and I believe that the bills should be paid first BEFORE you go out and blow any money on luxuries such as eating out. He eats out a lot!

If you find it in your heart to help me out, please send me a note with how you would like for me to use the money, 3 choices as there will hopefully be others who can help me, and I can send you proof that that bill was paid. This is new to me and my first attempt at "cyberbegging", which has taken all I have. I am proud and have done many things on my own, so it is very humiliating for me to have to take this route.

I would assume your donation is tax deductible, but you will have to check on that.

If this works for me, I will give back and help out others who need it.

God Bless you and your family. Happy Holidays!

I don't know what else to do...

Posted by alice on 2011-11-15 15:58:06

I started at a four year university this fall, the first in my family to ever do so. I am a highly independent person and don't feel comfortable begging for money, but I don't know what else to do.
I have been blacklisted and unable to find work, meanwhile I'm unable to pay my rent, buy groceries or school supplies, not even basic toiletries; I have been without toothpaste and toilet paper for 3 weeks. I have no friends that can help, they all either have children or are unemployed and unable to spare any money for me. I don't qualify for any county aid because I made too much money earlier this year, so I have zero help for my medical bills that are now surmounting $15K, my car is going to be repossessed, I'm on the verge of eviction and half starving. My parents cannot help me because they are not in much better financial shape than me, I have not grandparents left and no valid cosigner to acquire an extra student loan. All of this while attending college for nursing, taking a 15 credit course load.
My savings are gone, my bank account is -$483.93 and counting, my landlord is evicting me in December if I can't come up with this month's and December's rent by the first of December. I am reusing everything I can, but am at this point only able to allow myself on very small meal per day or I will have NO food in one week. My cat is starving with me, and we have less than one weeks' food supply left and the food shelf here is so limited I'm on a waiting list. I have no cash, my fiancee's family won't help because they hate me and my fiancee is living two hours away from me, barely getting by as well.

I'm crying my eyes out in the school library typing this. It's the most humiliating and pitiful thing I've done in my life so far but I have no idea what else to do. Please help me. I've asked for help everywhere I should be able to find it but this is my last ditch effort. If this doesn't work, I don't know what I'll do. Please, anyone, anywhere, anything, help me. Anything would be greatly appreciated, even a few cents. I know I'm not going to get out of the situation that I'm in by using this site but all I could hope for was a little relief. Any help and I will consider you my saving grace and do my best to pay it forward when I get done with Medical School, if I make it that far. Please and Thank You for reading my story.

If you want the details of my life came to this, here you go...
I quit my great paying job of three years to concentrate on school more closely in June.
Since school started in August I have had the following happen:
A nervous breakdown caused by an imbalance of hormones from ovarian cysts that I had to seek medical attention for and cost me my job in absences.
Got engaged to the love of my life, and we suffered the loss of a child by ectopic pregnancy on September 9. I had to have emergency surgery as the ER dept. here did not figure out that was the problem until I was nearly dying. They had to remove the fetus, 15% of my left fallopian tube and had to perform a D & C of my uterus. All of this without medical insurance.
Finally got a new job at a local bar waiting tables and was promised 4 days per week after a one month training/probationary period. After a month, my shifts didn't go up but I wasn't contacted about my performance until my boss TEXTED me to have a meeting with him, where he fired me for being "too professional" and refused to elaborate, also informed me that he "extended the training period by two weeks" because he "wasn't sure about my performance" and decided since I was still on probation the last two weeks that he didn't have to pay me for it and never filled my tax information so there is no record of me ever working for him, other than whenever I try to get another job in town I am told that I lied about my work history because I didn't include the job on the list because I didn't exist but when I do, they call and he tell them one of two things: either that I never worked for him and I must be lying and delusional or that I didn't "work" for him, I just trained and wasn't a good "fit" so I shouldn't have put the bar for previous work experience. Keep in mind, this is a small town with a State University in it, and my old boss owns nearly 1/3 of the property and is very well known in the area, therefor: I somehow need to overcome his poor reference to get a job which is proving impossible.

Hoping to go back home to visit my family.

I currently live in Texas after graduating from a university here. I am still in Texas because I owe over $25,000 in student loans and still unable to find a job that applies to my degree. Right now I have two part time jobs waiting tables to pay rent and bills.

It had been six years since I've seen my family and miss them so much, but Ohio is pretty far from Texas and my finical situation prevents me from taking any kind of vacation.

wanting to create a juice bar/gourmet food sevice. Promoting enzyme integrity foods prepared fresh exposing the alternative in dinning. the motto, sobriety thru dinning because cooked food is drug. wanting to promote alternative energy products like solar and wind through the same business, need food dryers, food processors, green life juicers, solar refridgerators, solar hot water heaters, building, glass display refridgerator, solar panels, tables and chairs and so much more. this is a new style of food service that most people would not be capable of understanding and with that insight is the understanding of what it might take to introduce this concept in dinning, therefore the start up fees on a adventure with this scope of design are to be unforseen in many aspects of the dreamscape of it all. thank you.

Please help!My daughter finally finished her college education and is now drowning in debt/she borrowed (all)to attend college.
My husband and I work, but were not able to contribute with the exception of books,we are below middle class income and have other children, there was no way to save for education. So here goes, she has Fed loans and private loans, totals come to about $35000 many many private loans and only one lender who will consolidate at a hefty 10 1/2-13.3% Yes!!! Crazy,so she 'll be paying on 5 private loans and the fed loans. Plus she still has'nt found a job,she does work at a supper club since high school (bussing tables, hostessing and an occasional night of waitressing). But it doesn't pay the bills (She majored in Public Relations and Journalism)any amount would be deeply, truely
appreciated.Shes a great gal,and would gladly pay it forward when she can.Job offers would be a bonus on this site!

Guilty until proven innocent

Posted by innocent on 2011-09-04 07:58:52

Hello;

I am a widower with three, nearly adult children who are poised to enter the world. By this I mean they are older from late teens to early twenties. Any of you who know of this age, understand what I mean. They are adult/children - immature, but on the verge of their launch into the world. They are living through a horror with me, and they do not deserve it.

We are currently living a nightmare. Since the middle of the summer, I have been the victim of a stalker/harasser. Because of the nature of the legal battle upon which I am about to embark, I cannot give the details here. In an ironic and horrifying twist of fate, my harasser has turned the tables and filed very serious, and VERY FALSE criminal charges against me. And, unless, I fight them aggressively, with the best legal help I can find for this type of case, I will be found guilty and incarcerated for crimes I did not commit. Lawyers tell me that this type of thing happens more often than any decent, law abiding citizen would think.

That said, the cost of this defense is staggering and far beyond the means of anyone in my family. So, what I am asking for is twofold.

1. Financial support
2. Legal help

I have heard that when asked, inmates always claim innocence. And certainly, in a venue like this, there is nothing I can say to convince a stranger that I am innocent. All I can say is that I AM and that the injustice being perpetrated against me is nothing short of horrifying. The one thing I am guilty of is bringing this monster into my life and impacting my loved ones in a way nobody should experience.

The legal expense has been estimated at upwards of $100k. Yes, $100k. Almost every legal authority with whom I have spoken express great concern for the seriousness of the situation but they also believe it can be overcome with the appropriate defense.

I have lived a good life and have always practiced the golden rule. I love people and people have always been drawn to me.

If there is anyone who can provide material, spiritual or legal help, please write me. I am very scared and face legal deadlines at the end of this month.

Best,
confidential

I wouldn't be here if it wasn't my last resort. Life has thrown me a curve ball I couldn't catch. My daughter and I have been living with my Grandmother since early 2010 when my wife abandoned us after being diagnosed with post par-tum depression and turning to a life of drugs a few months after giving birth to our beautiful Daughter. I wasn't able to pay the rent, utilities and daycare expenses on my own so my Grandmother being the loving woman that she was agreed to put a roof over our heads while I started attending a technical school to further my education and career so that one day soon I could get a better job and be able to afford things on my own. A few months into my schooling my Grandmother fell ill. She started having problems doing daily tasks and eventually was forced to retire early. Which left her with a small 401k and a feeble social security fixed monthly income. She no longer had the money to take care of us and the tables turned on us it was I that now had to care of her. In late 2010 she was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer and needed an oxygen concentrator to breathe properly. No longer able to do regular daily tasks we all take for granted. I had to put school on hold to stay home to care for her and my Daughter. My Grandmother wasn't to keen on going to a nursing home nor was I willing to put her in one when I was in a position to help her as she had done for me, we also could no longer afford daycare for my Daughter. A few months went by and we seemed to be getting along fine but, the doctors bills were piling up and we were forced to choose between the mortgage and continuing doctor care for my Grandmother. As the months passed my Grandmother continued to get weaker no matter how hard she tried to stay active by playing with or reading to her great granddaughter. In the beginning of March she could no longer get out of bed on her own. I had to carry her to and from the bathroom, cook and feed her all of her meals and generally keep her as comfortable and happy as she could be. At that time we were 4 months behind on the mortgage and struggling to keep the electricity that her life depended on, on. On June 8 2011 my grandmother passed away. She didn't have a large life insurance policy which only covered her burial and some of the doctors bills. She tried to leave me her house in her will but, probate court is trying to take it away from us because the house is going to be in foreclosure soon, we are now about to be 10 months behind, and her other reaming debt (doctors, credit cards...). So I am here today to ask for various kinds of help ranging from advice to money. I am not asking you to pay the entire debt and the house off but, for maybe enough to put my daughter back into daycare so I can find a job and hopefully save my house. In the almost 3 months since my grandmothers passing I have tried numerous ways of getting my daughter into daycare so I could find a job and be able to support my daughter and myself and possibly save the home my grandmother so graciously left to us but, to no avail.I am begging you for support. I need advise as to the best course of action to appeal to the probate court and save our home. I need the money to pay for daycare for my daughter which averages $100 a week. To pay off my grandmothers remaining debt which is close to $5,000. Pay for representation in probate court to appeal our case and to get caught up or pay off the house, we are now behind 6,751.16 on a total left of 33,514.81, and to get current on the utility bills which I have miraculously managed to keep on for the last 3 months by selling all of my worldly possessions. I am in a desperate situation and I'm begging for help. Like I said I don't expect to receive enough money to pay all of the debt but asking for enough to get my daughter back into daycare so I can try to save us. I hope you can find it in your hearts to help in whatever way possible. It would be greatly appreciated by my daughter and myself in this great time of need. I beg you for your prayers and generosity and Thank you for the time you took to read my story, Just writing it helped alleviate a little bit of stress. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts All of you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Any advise is greatly appreciated and can be sent to zenkiawdsm@gmail.com. Thank you

Needing To Move For Better Opportunities

Hello, my boyfriend and I need to move from Fort Lauderdale to Tennessee by November of 2011. I have been unemployed since January 2009 and have had some temp jobs and interviews, but no permanent hiring. It’s very hard down here and not getting any better in South Florida. I have also been making clay jewelry pieces to sale but it isn’t bringing in enough income to support the cost of living in South Florida.

We have a relative willing to let us move in as long as we pay rent for 1 bedroom and help her with her baby. She even has a job opening for me which I will definitely take. However, given current financial issues we can barely make the move. We need an estimate of $2,000 to pay for preventive car maintenance, gas to travel 880 miles, packing material, and 2 months worth of rent for the bedroom.

I would be more than happy to help you in exchange for helping me. I have experience with general office work including MS Word: documentation, proof reading, editing, research, and data extraction; Excel workbooks: charts, tables, bookkeeping, and data entry.

Need HELP!

Posted by HORTOND on 2011-07-07 11:58:13

I am in the army and im the father of a beautiful daughter. I am currently going through a custody battle so that i can be the primary custodian of my little girl. Im only an E4 in the army, so my pay isnt that great. I work a second job waiting tables just so i can make ends meet. I pay my lawyer 700 a month, thats $4300 so far! and i also am forced to pay my soon-to-be-ex wife $695 a month. Not to mention I am paying all of our debts that we accrued while we were married and my regular household bills as well. I put in over 70 hours a week and I feel like things just arent getting better. Im just wondering if there is anyone out there that is willing to help a father in need. I am trying to do everyhing i can to do what is right by my daughter but it doesnt seem like its enough. Ive paid off $14000 of debt since we have seperated and still have $20000 to go. Im worn out and tired. I am willing to provide documention and proof of all of my claims. I just need whatever help i can get. Wether it be someone generous enough to give me the money or lend me the money at a low interest rate so i can consolidate. I appreciate your time and thanks for listening.

My email is hortondenny@gmail.com if anyone would like to offer their help.
I would like to tell you a story that relates to why I am asking for help.
My father was a Vietnam vet who proudly enlisted into the army to serve his country. After willingly serving two tours of duty, he came home and married my mother (his high school sweetheart) and started a family consisting of me and my two older sisters.
When I was four, my father began experiencing difficulties with his legs and feet. After many unsuccessful operations, it was determined that he was losing the bone density in his legs and he was put in a wheelchair.
My father was an amazing man; he never let his being in a wheelchair keep him down. He climbed Pike's Peak twice and Mount Evans once in his wheelchair, one of his climbs was filmed by a local TV show in Colorado called P.M. Magazine. We have the video footage on beta and are trying to find a way to convert it to DVD. I would love to share his story with anyone wanting to watch it. It shows what a courageous man he was. It was a heartbreaking climb over rough terrain and sometimes he had to strap his wheelchair to his ankles and drag it while he scooted up steep inclines on his backside. It never deterred him. He had more strength and determination than any man I have ever met in my life. He also ran marathons in his wheelchair and spoke to other handicapped and disabled individuals to help them realize that although someone may be hindered, it just means that they learn to function differently. "I may be in a wheelchair, but the wheelchair isn't in me," he used to say.
In 1987, when I was 12, the harsh weather conditions of Colorado became unbearable for my father and we moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico.
My father was never granted disability in Colorado or New Mexico and while he fought for 30 years for his pension from the Army, he never received that either (the common story of we can't seem to find your files even though my father repeatedly submitted his paperwork to show his contribution to our country). As a result, my mother found herself working 2 full time jobs just to support us and we still barely made ends meet.
We grew up poor our entire lives, but we understood what it was like to be rich in other ways. Our family was close and we knew that, no matter how rough things could be at times, that we really did have each other. My sisters and I grew very close over the time when we had no electricity and only had each other to listen to because we didn't have the power for television and radio. We are still very close to this day. I will never regret how we grew up, even with the struggles, because it was the foundation of who we are today. We all learned how to be kind and unselfish and value each other. Both my sisters and I all have our own children and work hard to instill the same values in them.
In 2000, my father was diagnosed with lung cancer as a result of being subjected to Agent Orange while in Vietnam. The tumors were visible in both lungs and nothing could be done. He passed away one week after the diagnosis. We had no time to prepare and certainly no time to say goodbye.

My mother now lives in PA in a cute little Amish town. She has since remarried a wonderful man named Jack. He is also a Vietnam veteran.

My sisters and I still live in New Mexico with our families, although my heart is definitely on the east coast with my mother.
A short time after my mother moved to PA, she got a
job as a nurse. She loved helping other people as she had done all her life. Unfortunately, she suffered a fall that left her with permanent neck and spinal injuries. After going through her own numerous surgeries, she was unable to continue the work that she loved so much. The tables have turned from when we were growing up where she was the only source of income and Jack has been the sole provider for the last several years.
Recently, Jack began to feel very ill and it looks like the effects of Agent Orange have done their damage once again. He is suffering from skin cancer and stage 4 prostate cancer and after going through a series of tests, the probability of also having lymphoma is very high. My mother is going through the same horror once again and while my sisters and I are grown, losing a father to Agent Orange for the second time isn't easy on the heart.
A few years ago, my mother lost both parents and her only sibling, a brother, in the span of four months. She has nobody and I can't bear to leave her alone while she suffers physically and emotionally.
Unfortunately, I lost my job a couple months ago due to layoffs and have had extreme difficulty finding another source of income. Las Cruces is a small city with very limited opportunity. While I worked in the same profession for the past 11 years, I have applied for any and every type of job I could find.
We are struggling to find a way to move close to my mother so that I can take care of her and so she won't be alone if she loses Jack. My sisters and I are the only family she has left and I want nothing more than to be there for her.

I am hoping to find a job there very quickly and I would also love to attend schooling and get my degree in forensics. It has been a dream of mine to be able to assist in solving crime related cases. I firmly believe that I can accomplish my career goals and help my mother if I were in a state with far more job opportunities.
We have never been comfortable financially and my 2 teenage boys understand what it is like to do without the things they want in exchange for just the things they need, much like my sisters and I when we were growing up. I have always wanted more for my kids than to see them grow up here in a high poverty state. I believe the job opportunities and schooling for them will be equally beneficial. They both already have career minded goals that will take them farther in a bigger state.

It has been 4 years since I've seen my mother as neither of us can afford the expense of a trip.

All I am requesting is enough assistance to be able to move my family closer to my mother and locate a house to rent while I search for a job. I am only asking for short term support as I know that I am capable of supporting my own family and I am certain that I will be able to find gainful employment in a short time.

Fur in Need

Posted by ToxikFox on 2011-05-14 17:58:01

Hi! My name is Ellen. Feel free to call me Toxik, though! I'm a fursuit/costume maker and an artist in the furry fandom, but don't let that deter you. I'm not big on begging or panhandling...but until I can find a suitable job, I might need a little boost to help me get by. I currently work a minimum wage job in a business my family owns. I'm a waitress and work mostly for tips. Typically people rarely sit down at the tables or put money in our tip jar, so usually this means little to no spending money for this fox. I use paypal to keep my spending money and funds in a safe place. It keeps everything well organized. I also need money to buy supplies for artwork and costuming. Every dollar counts, so if anyone would be so kind as to donate, it is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Aspiring doctor... short on rent and money... and student debt

Posted by btlaxripper on 2011-04-23 11:58:52

So managed to pay for my undergraduate education all on my own. I did not get in to medical school my first go around. So I entered into a Masters program to boost my resume (even though my MCAT and GPA are above that of my friends). Everyone I talk to questions me "how are you NOT in medical school right now?" It doesn't really bother me too much.

I live in a dingy graduate student dormitory, gas is nearly $4 a gallon here in New Orleans. I don't have enough money to go home to my family in South Carolina.

The only job I could find in this city is bussing tables..... I am a 22 year old highly intelligent man with a Masters Degree... and I am bussing tables.

I take orders from 18 year old waitresses.

But I don't mind, it helps me get by.... but barely. I live paycheck to paycheck and am scraping by.

I am incredibly driven and know that one day I will be a doctor taking care of people's problems and managing a practice. It is who I am. I am an extremely type A person...

I just tell myself that this struggling portion in my life is a character building phase--- this is when those who really want to succeed rise to the occasion, and those without the work ethic fall behind.

Come at me world.

Thank you for your help.
