Hello everyone, my name is Ryan and I am 18 years old. I live in Baltimore, Maryland. I suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after witnessing the sudden death of the closest person to me in the ENTIRE world, my best friend who lost his life 7 months ago. Many times I become anxious or depressed, and my SSRI medication allows me to function in a normal society. I am currently and constantly looking for work, however I have been unsuccessful in the past few weeks. I can no longer afford to pay for my medicines, and I can not afford to pay for my doctor visits. Without getting back on my medications it will be difficult to acquire a job and without income I may end up homeless. I am 18 years old looking to get my self together mentally so I can set myself on a positive track to successfully live the rest of my life! Anything would be highly appreciated. God Bless

Even though I’ve always been a very hard worker, volunteer, loyal employee and dedicated student, my life circumstances have changed dramatically now that I am a single mother and I fear I will not be able to finish school. Up front, I take full responsibility for my current condition/situation, no other person place or thing is responsible for bad decisions I have made. And I have made quite a few.
That being stated, here are the facts;
Currently living in a car(read that homeless).
Unemployed, not unemployable but a very poor job history.
Stuck in a place where the weather is nice, but I really do not want to be here.

How did I get here? Years of practice.
I recently spoke with a professional, not in his professional settings, but of subjet matter that is discussed in his professional settings.
After some communications between us his opinion is that quite probably I am suffering from PTSD (Post Tramatic Stress Disorder). Something I aquired at the age of 17. 45 years ago I was involved in an automobile accident that resulted in both deaths, yes plural, and permanent disability to persons other than myself. Although due to circumstances beyond my control I was never charged with any crime, and there are no wants or warrants now, I believe the accident was my fault. I am willing to discuss the details in private as posting them on the internet could possibly bring painful memories to any living family members involved.
So for 45 years I have practiced the symptoms of PTSD so well that I have slipped through undetected. Probably in part due to the fact that although I am of the typical age of a Vietnam Vet, I never served in that arena, as I ran away from home just after the accident, because I was afraid of going to jail, that any draft papers never caught up with me. I was not afraid of going to jail because of being locked behind bars, I was afraid of suffering more sexual abuse at the hands of older inmates like I had already received from my sick alcoholic father.
So not being a vet and not discussing the accident no one ever considered PTSD, and they now know that severe trama of any sort can cause it, not just the theatre of the battlefield. Couple that to me not staying in one spot long enough for anyone to really know me. I have been successfully hiding in my head. As long as I don't get too close too intimate it won't hurt when I run away and lose you.
Severe trama it is now believed to stunt emotional growth. If the trama is severe enough emotional growth can in fact be locked in to the time of the tramatic event. So imagine being a teenager in a 61 year old body, thats me. Married 4 times afraid to have children. I heard on a radio talk show when I was very young that "The sins of the fathers where passed to their offsprings" and made a decision to never have children because no way was I going to do what was done to me to some helpless trusting child. This is one of the few things that I have been successful at.
The professional says I must discuss these matters, that is part of the healing process. So I am jumping in off the deep end, going online with my story in hopes that it will benefit myself and any other poor sod that happens to be in a similar situation.
Yes I am asking for help, financial help. Here with the help of the professional is what I am thinking, If I can find a few thousand lucky individuals that are housed and employed to give one dollar then I can purchase a used motorhome, put it in an inexpensive rv park so that I can have a base of operations from which to take showers on a daily basis, eat hot food and have an address to put on job applications. I could find some form of professional assistance either city/state/federal to deal with the PTSD for the long term.
There is help available.
And just to ease the voices in your head, I have not had a drink of alcohol or any hard drugs since 1982. I have used marijuana on a irregular basis off and on my whole life, I'll see what the PTSD treatment brings regarding that issue.

I have been on disability for several years now, primarily for bipolar disorder, but also from back and neck injuries sustained from being hit by a drunk driver on new year's eve several years ago. I barely make enough to cover my bills and to buy food to eat, and there is never anything left over, and often there isn't enough, leaving me having to beg for money from friends or family members, who often don't have it and can't give anything. I have been stuck at home for years because I cannot even afford gas to go out in town unless I have to go to the doctor, grocery store, drug store, etc. I do not even want to think about trying to meet a person for a relationship because I feel like I have nothing to offer someone when I can barely take care of myself. Sometimes the despair makes me just want to lie in bed and never get up or swallow a bottle of pills so it will all be over. Living a lonely solitary life is killing me. I have a college degree in psychology and have worked my entire adult life trying to help adults, teenagers, and children to have better lives for themselves, and now I am stuck in the boat where many of them have been, where I feel like there's no hope. I had a lot of problems working also because I live in the southern US where not only racism is rampant (though I'm white), but they also treat people like me the same as they do blacks, and by that I mean people who are bisexual, or open-minded, or who people assume to be gay. I have been fired from jobs, harassed, threatened, passed over for jobs, etc., to the point that years ago I got sick of even trying to work in such a hostile environment when all I ever did was accept everyone and try to help anyone in need. I could never fathom why everybody hated me so much just from general assumptions that I "might" be gay, having never told anyone anything, though I have had relationships with men and women. People here are so anti-gay that it is downright dangerous to make yourself known. They will create vicious lies and rumors to try to destroy your life, will not hire you for jobs, will fire you, threaten and harass you. Further, ever since I was a young boy, I have also been physically abused because of this. White trash rednecks love to do this, and it has been done to me many times-they will kidnap you, drag you off into the woods, tie you to a tree or down in the back of a truck or string you up between two trees, or even act like they're going to hang you, and then they gang rape you, and then they threaten to kill you and your family if you ever tell on them. And you can't go to the police because they're usually there raping you too. I've had to call in the FBI on them several times, and the National Guard has even had to show its presence in our town before because these vigilante KKK rednecks are so threatening towards anybody who isn't a redneck. They think there's only 2 kinds of people, rednecks and queers. Or whites and blacks. I'm white but they label me a queer, and to them, that's just as bad as being black. So therefore, they beat me and rape me. My mother taught me at a young age to play dead, and I had to do it several times growing up. I also had to play like Brer Rabbit and tell them to please not leave me in the woods or I might die, but it's what I wanted because I was a boy scout and I knew I could survive if they'd just leave me alone and let me live. They even had a hand in killing my mother many years ago, and they also kill anyone who gets close to trying to expose them. You learn to stay away from them and to keep your mouth shut and maybe they'll let you live and find somebody else to rape and abuse. Besides wanting to be able to have a decent life, I want to get out of this area and be free for the first time in my life. I want to be able to afford to move somewhere else, preferably to Florida or to California, to a place where nobody knows me and maybe I can hide out and start over, and also where people are more accepting of people who choose to not be a redneck. I am tired of being hated for being a perfectly normal human being. I know from college that we are all bisexual creatures and that there is nothing wrong with me. Hell, these rednecks are raping young boys, so they're the queers and child molesters, so why the hell would they be threatening me? The answer is because they want to be free to rape and molest whoever they want and they always get away with it, because this area is full of corrupt police and sheriffs and politicians and wealthy townfolk who can get away with murder repeatedly. I just want out, so please help me to be able to move to a safer environment so that I might live a decent and normal life one day, and so I might also can bring myself out of depression and learn to walk in the sun again and hopefully also find love like I want and not be afraid to feel and express my emotions. I cannot believe that in 2012 they have such control over everyone in the redneck south to the point that people are afraid to live normal lives. And yes, every single word of this is true, so please help. At the rate I'm going, I'll never be able to afford to move elsewhere and to get away from this hellhole called southern Alabama. Even in the last several years, I was near our local river at the boat landing parking lot talking to a friend when the police showed up and started to harass us and called us queers for being two men talking in a parking lot. He then made us stay there and called two friends of his to come there, and while the policeman held a gun on us, they raped me and made me give the two redneck men blow jobs and kept slamming the truck door on my head and punching and kicking me. I did successfully get that policeman moved to another town after I went to the hospital after I was raped, but he wasn't fired. The other two men were never tried for their crimes, but someone did end up murdering one of them. This place is awful, you just have no idea. Another incident I'll tell you about before I end this is one weekend I was working a new part time job on top of my full time job at a maximum security mental hospital. My boss at work, a nurse, had a brother who owned a lake, and he needed someone to take care of general maintenance and help out guests and such. Well to try to me out, they had me stay there one weekend, in my own cabin, with just one guest on the lake, and he was in a cabin down the hill. Well, I found out during the course of this weekend that the nurse and her brother were in the KKK and this man staying at the lake had paid them to be able to hunt him a real life queer at the lake. So he kept harassing me and threatening me and coming to my cabin at night with his guns and even one time chased me down the pier and I had to jump into the lake fully clothed, wallet, shoes, jeans, and all, swimming as deep as I could and moving side to side and spinning underwater because this psycho man was shooting bullets at me! I felt like I was in a movie, and I thankfully didn't get hit but several bullets whizzed by me underwater, and I held my breath and swam clear across the lake underwater and only came up when I had to because I had no breath left, and I had to spend the entire night hiding among the lilypads with my head barely sticking out of the water, for fear that he might see me, even though I was across the lake and there wasn't enough moonlight for him to see me from that far away. I was freezing and sick by the next morning, not to mention having a nervous breakdown after being hunted. My brother and his fiance' got me a lawyer and we were advised by him not to pursue it or they would murder us all. The nurse even admitted to the setup at work the next week, and was surprised that I had shown back up, because she figured I'd have been bagged by the hunter.

I felt like I was in a movie, and I thankfully didn't get hit but several bullets whizzed by me underwater, and I held my breath and swam clear across the lake underwater and only came up when I had to because I had no breath left, and I had to spend the entire night hiding among the lilypads with my head barely sticking out of the water, for fear that he might see me, even though I was across the lake and there wasn't enough moonlight for him to see me from that far away. I'm a stay home mom who wants to help stray cats and kittens that aren't taken care of. I have personally rescued a few and successfully re-homed them. I wish I could do more but my financial bit is not helping much. I have a few more stray cats with me that are looking for homes but their vet bills, food and other costs are taking a toll on me. I came from a good family but my mom died and sold everything without leaving me anything not a single penny. The reason I am begging here is not because I have no work but because the money I earn is not enough to do all the things need to be done. I have a son, he is 13 soon but been years I haven't seen him. My mom send him to his dad and not allowing him to talk to me. His father got a mistress but we are not actually divorce. In 2005 I was on 12 medications, mostly psychiatric. I got a migraine after 3 days of no sleep due to chronic insomnia, which I still have. My Dr. did not know how to treat it and gave me a flu shot and sleeping pills.

We both work full time (and enjoy what we do), have a nice home, we're able to afford some luxuries in life although in moderation, that is enough for me. I enjoy cooking, and entertaining in my time off from work, and spending family time with my kids, parents, and neighbors. My children are Jordon (age 13), Logan (age 10), and Brianna (age 9). The kids are active in sports, and in our small community we are well known, and frequently can be seen volunteering at community events, church, and our local high school, of which we are both alumni. I live less than two miles from the home I grew up in. Sounds perfect if you ask me.

On February 18th, 2011 our son Logan (age 10) was diagnosed with a large brain tumor. He was not having many symptoms only occasional headaches. I was concerned that he may have been developing migraines and so I took him to see our family physician. His physical exam was normal including a rather thorough neurological exam. Dr. Arntz agreed with my initial thought and prescribed him some migraine medication. What a relief! He asked us to get a CT scan of Logan's head only as a precaution and he even stated that he didn't think there was any real concern, just a precaution. 5 days later, we were heading to the University of Michigan; Mott's childrens hospital because his precautionary CT scan had confirmed the worst for us. A 6 cm brain tumor in the posterior fossa of Logan's brain. Causing the cerebral spinal fluid to back up and create pressure in his head (hence the headaches).

Before leaving the house for the hospital we gave Logan a brief description of the problem, and explained to him that we didn't know what was going to happen next but we were going to the hospital to find out. You could see the worry on him but he was tough, shrugged his shoulders and said, "Well, I guess I better call it something, I think I'll name it Steve." So off we went, notifying family on the way to the hospital, and completely sick to my stomach.

Three days later we would embark on the scariest days of my life. Logan was promptly scheduled for surgery the following Monday and we were told there was a high probability that the tumor was cancerous. Dr. Cormac Maher performed 14 hours of brain surgery on Logan on Monday February 21st, and confirmed our fears that Logan indeed had a cancerous brain tumor called medulloblastoma. Then more bad news the post operative MRI showed that they had been able to remove all of the tumor and Logan would need more surgery. The next day he underwent another 6 hours of brain surgery. We caught it early but based on where the tumor sat he may not be able to talk or walk normally for 3-6 months. Lucky for us he talks and walks very well all things considered. But there has been radiation therapy and chemo therapy will continue until February or March of next year. There is a 75-80% chance of survivability, I feel blessed with those odds.

Logan is doing very well but this situation has put an incredible financial burden on us. I am falling behind on bills and need help. Andy is working constantly and I even started a second job on the weekends to try to help supplement the lost income from prescriptions, gas to and from the hospital, and just having to take time off work for appointments and Logan's sick days... I don't know what else to do. The banks have tried thankfully to work with us but our circumstance is not going to change for quite awhile longer. Our family's do not have a lot of money, and have already tried to help so much that I think it may be putting a strain on them as well. The church sends gas cards occasionally but there is just not enough to keep us going for the next year.

Here' s the kicker, Logan started his own Relay for Life team. I had taken him to a local expo about 3 weeks after he had been discharged from the hospital because I thought it would be good exercise for him to walk around and there would be lot's to look at, and there was a booth for the American Cancer Society. He walked up to the lady at the booth and he said " How old do you have to be to have a team?" She signed him up on the spot. Logan Bailey's Super Survivors have raised $8300.00 for the American Cancer Society! He's only a little more than $1600.00 away from his goal of raising $10000.00 for the Relay for Life. We've held auctions, bake sales, and concerts. It's been a wonderful distraction for him and he is super excited about reaching that fund-raising goal. We have asked our friends to contribute to his goals in lieu of giving us personal financial assistance. It's more important to me that his endeavors to do more for others, are successful.

We cannot change Logan's circumstance. He will always be a brain cancer survivor, and I will forever be a medullo-mom. But, if we can make this even minutely easier for others having to face it after us then we will do it. Logan donated "Steve the brain tumor" to medical research and he volunteered to participate in a medical research trial for his treatments. We hope that the money raised for the American Cancer Society will make a difference in research and support for anyone suffering with a cancer diagnosis. We hope that the research will make the work of wonderful, selfless, people like Dr. Maher and his team easier and more successful. If I had been diagnosed with this same type of cancer at the age of ten it would have been a terminal diagnosis... the research is working!!

I need help, I need financial help for my family so that we can stop the worrying over finances and concentrate on bringing our entire family through this successfully looking at it in a positive light and remembering that we did it with hearts full of love and with others in mind. Logan is a truly remarkable child and I am so proud of him. I anxiously await your response Thank you for your consideration.

I'm a college grad who has worked as a counselor for 3 years in New York. I need to relocate because my psycho ex is being released from prison for trying to kill me soon. I have decided rather look over my shoulder the rest of my life that I need to move to another state and start over. I have no one that can help and working as a counselor in a non profit agency leaves me with no money to relocate. I have been trying for months to find ways to get money and I have sold everything I own to move but I'm still in need of money to successfully do this. If anyone has the ability to help me they would be helping a former battered woman who is devoted to helping others. I have researched and developed a plan...I just need some financial assistance.

Three years ago, I managed to get back in school to work towards a BS in software engineering after being on dialysis for 15 years. I'm also finally on the transplant list and should have that occurring within the next two to three years. Waiting to get on the list was necessary because I needed the immunosuppressant drug regiment to advance by two generations before I could be sure that the side effects would not outweigh the benefits. Prednisone alone left me weighing 120 lbs (I should weight at least 170 lbs) during my first go-around with loss of kidney function.

I've had some medical speed-bumps while enrolled that arose from the complications of having both kidneys removed (they found a tumor) that cost me dearly in terms of being able to finish my classes successfully. The result has been the loss of $10491.30 of my financial aid (6 classes worth of tuition at $1748.55 a class). I've already paid $3497.10 out of pocket without going into debt beyond my school loan, but need $6994.20 to finish.

I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, watch TV, or anything else that doesn't contribute to who I am as a person in a positive manner. I mostly read books for entertainment.

Posting here is humiliating and hurts like hell, but I don't see any alternatives. I need to get moving forward so I can nail this degree down before transplant. All I want is to be a productive citizen with as close to a normal life as possible--getting my degree is a big piece of that.

I am a 51 year old man who has never asked for help from anyone before. I am only doing this because I love my family and as a last resort. My family has no idea I have posted this at this time.

My Situation:

I am married to a wonderful woman who has two children. (My step children). She does receive $117.00 a week in support. That is her only income as she is not working due to spinal injuries. She has already had a spine fusion and will have another operation soon as she still has spinal issues not dealt with yet.

My health is not optimal. I was diagnosed with Diabetes in 1989. I had a heart attack in 2000 and had a stent put into my left circumflex artery. In 2005 I had triple bypass heart surgery, Coronary Artery Disease and Diabetes run in my family. I do not have health insurance right now and so I have not been able to see a doctor for my conditions in a couple of years now. I should be on two types of insulin, long-acting and short-acting. I should also be on medications for my heart, blood pressure and cholesterol. I can not afford these so I haven't even bothered to try and get scripts for them. I fear that this is beginning to catch up with me.

As I said my wife is not working right now. I am currently driving a cab and I am also trying to find a new job, but do to my health I have been working less and less. Also the economy & fuel prices have basically taken a big bite out of the cab industry. Very long hours for very little pay.

I also have two children of my own ages 21 and 20. I am very active in their lives and always have been. I still pay child support to their mother as I went into arrears due to the heart attack in 2000 and the triple bypass in 2005. I currently have a payment arrangement with the courts to pay this off over a period of time.

Here is my request. The bottom line is I do not make enough money to support my family(s) anymore. I am hoping that through this post two things could happen.

During the 90’s there was a war in Europe, the Bosnian war. I was working in London at the outbreak of the conflict and, like most other people, didn’t pay too much attention to the conflict. However, after getting home one night from work i switched on the TV to watch the evening news. (BBC) The lead story was of a very young girl beIng held down on an operating table by three nurses while a doctor pulled shrapnel from her body without anaesthesia. That one news report changed my life forever, I was horrified and very upset to say the least. 3 days later i am in Split (Croatia) trying to find a safe way into the think of the conflict area’s to see how i could help. To cut a 4 year long story short i managed to save many thousands of Bosnian lives regardless of ethnicity. I stood up against the war lords when evacuating wonded women and children, successfully begged the assistance of UNHCR to supply me with safe houses in Croatia, to house the women and children i sneaked across the border before i could find the funds to evacuate them, found an abandoned air strip that very rich donators flew aircraft into to evacuate seriously wounded children in need of urgent medical treatment. I was arrested twice by various warlords and locked up in makeshift Prisons. (i broke out) The list of things i did in the name of humanity is endless. I always worked alone without the protection of any organisation.

You may think (as most do) that my story is very far fetched. However, Micheal Nicolson OBE, chief War correspondent for ITN news, Dan Damion Sky News, Bianca Jagger, King Constantine ll of Greece were all donators of the day. They paid for all the secret aircrafts into Bosnia .

Why do i want your money now?

I recently had the good fortune of spending some time in Zimbabwe. Not in the cities but in the very poor outback regions. The lasting impression that that experience has had on me has once again moved me to tears and has left me numb. Very young Children have no food (and i mean no food) children are forced to perform sexual favours for food, children as young as 6 are turned away from school for the lack of $1 per term, there is no clean water.. the list goes on and on.

How do i know every penny of my Dollar will be spent at a grass roots level?
