I'm a single parent, who fleed from domestic violence- having to quickly store my furniture and children items in florida. I've been making payments up till now, I'm not currently working although I'm deligiantley looking. I have not make my payment of 165.00 per mth for april and may and now june is approaching quickly. Ny belongings are up for auction this 25th of May. I will make june payment if the prior are made or they will not accept it and the late fees will continue and of course i lose everything. I really need my furniture when things pull together for us, and losing them for 500.00 dollars hurts deeply. Iam a single mother in desperate need to get some financial assistance for move in costs for me and my daughter to finally have a home we can finally call (OUR HOME}after living in a motel for the last two years. Lost all of our personal belongings in our storage in order to payfor shelter over our heads. Also trying to obtain Reliable Transportation since our vehicle finally gave out. I am a 32 yr. old man, and since 2006, i have had a difficult time getting back up on my feet. i lost my kids, my home, my car, everything. since that time, i recently lost my mother in September and got divorced since my parents were the ones watching my kids. i had to move into a 10 X20 storage building, i then needed better than no water, etc. i decided to start working on getting my kids back, and can't do it unless i have a place for them to go. therefore i am asking for someone's assistance today. if someone can please help me today, contact me asap.

Hi my name is Linda I am a disable mom with three kids I had to put everything we own in storage and now I am close to losing it all. It has been hard being sick things are not going my way.I see doctors every week and my kids are going with out. My son Alex asks me everyday if he still has his bed and his toys and if we have our couches and I cry at night not knowing what is going to happen to our stuff. I have lost my Mother ,our home, my vehicles,our storage, and two full time jobs Ive held since 1998. Ive always worked hard and helped everyone that knows me. Now when I ask for help it seems as everyone goes the other way. Even my grown adult childre. I have a Medical need and it has gone unattended for two years. I have a medical"wrongful suit going. It really seems that I take one step forward and two steps back. After being unemployed for over a year I got a great part time job. It was brisk work over Christmas, then the hours got cut back to 11 hours a month. I have enough to cover buying a bus pass to get to the job and about half of my phone bill. I'm still actively looking and applying for jobs, but it took over a year just to get what I've got now. I really need some money to pay the phone bill fully $182(it's been rolling over for quite some time now and they've finally threatened to shut it off.) If I don't have a phone then I can't get calls from people wanting to hire me or even call places to see if they are hiring. Need money for my storage $154- I put everything I own in storage and am crashing on my friends sofa because I can't afford rent. I'd also like to be able to give her some money for putting up with me all these months. I owe her $700 for when she was paying my phone and storage before I got my part time job. That would be choice. It would be groovy to be able to buy groceries once in a while. This totally sux! I've got a degree, did everything you're supposed to do and I'm drowning in student loans, past due bills,and sleeping on a couch. Thank God for friends that let you invade their space. I tried one of those pay day loan places and I owe them $252 at the end of the month - my pay check will be a whopping $130 or so (after taxes). Ain't life grand? So my account will go in arrears - AGAIN! And i'll have to pay the $35 fee for insufficient funds. About $400 would do it by the end of March. Then I get to start all over again in April scrounging around to get money all while having a less than part time job. I'm not happy. But I'd really be grateful for any help. God Bless.

I moved in with my girlfriend 2 months ago. I left Boston to come be with her in NYC. My work had run dry until April. She had just been evicted from her apartment by a slumlord landlord who stole her belongings. We were living from paycheck to paycheck. Supporting each other as best we could. We didn't have enough money to get an apartment of our own, so we got a one month sublet, which ended up being a nightmare-living in a closet with our 2 cats, and dealing with the scum of the earth roommates who made us feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, and awful. During that first Monty, we spent our savings just living. We both work in the creative fields, myself a musician, an she an actress. Work was spotty at best. We borrowed money from friends and family, feeling terrible about ourselves every time. Mid-month, I decided to file for unemployment. (something i had never thought I'd ever do)
The money we were expecting from that would have paid her union dues, giving her a pay bump by about 400%. This would have enabled us to not only survive, but get on our feet and pay back our friends/family. About a week and a half after filing, my boss calls me and tells me I can't file, or he'll go out of business due to the fact he's never paid insurance on his employees. He convinced me he'd cover my unemployment pay (totaling $4,343) if I agreed to recind my claim, thus saving him tens of thousands of dollars in back-taxes. I agreed. As soon as I'd done that- he tells me his lawyer advised him not to do that, and that he never agreed to that in the first place.
I have now been playing phone tag with my unemployment agent for weeks trying to restart the claim, and have the state go after him for the money he owes them.
Meanwhile, at the end of January, we had to move again. We couldn't find a place in time, and ended up staying in a motel in Stamford for a night while we made appointments to see a few places. We awoke to the front desk and housekeeping ladies banging on our door, telling us we have to leave or they'll call the cops. We are still fighting Hotwire.com for charging us for that.
Luckily, we found a place that night. The expenses of having to move though, totaled over $500. (rental car, motel, storage)
The apartment we are in now is shared with 4 other people. It's a two bedroom. There are 3 people sleeping in the living room. There are cockroaches. We once again have to move out, by March 7th. We have applied for foodstamps. (they have yet to be approved)
This time around, we have no money to move with. Our resources have been tapped. We are out of options. Work is still spotty, and we have borrowed from everyone we know.
We have a week to come up with rent, cell phone bills, and moving expenses. Nevermind money for food to ear everyday. (as I type this, we are preparing to go out and sell some things for food money)
I have never been this scared in my life. I doubt that writing this is going to make a difference, but I have to try everything.

If anyone reading this wants a specific number that would get us out of this- its $5,000. Here's the breakdown:
$1,000 rent. (not counting a deposit)
$1760 my girlfriends union dues (which means she makes enough to get us on our feet)
$175 storage fee
$250 cell phone bills (it's a month late, an we're on the same plan)
$130 car rental to get our stuff out of the apartment
$40 rental car gas (they charge $9 a gallon if you don't fill the tank when you return the vehicle)
$1,000 for food for the two of us and cats' supplies. (food,litter)
And the rest would be to pay back some of the people who've already been there for us helping us along the way.

Please. Please help. We are a young couple in love. Scared. Trapped. Out of options.

My house burned down over the holiday season and what remains is in a small rental storage unit. I was struggling financially prior to the fire and now all that is left..mostly some salvageable family photos and some keepsakes that are about to be lost again--forever!!! I would like to save the keepsakes for the next generation in my family who are still very young---they lost their mother at a very early age.

The amount I would like to generously request is a humble amount of $250 and a one time need. My emergency funding resources did not come through this month and are delayed ??? I am working on this desperately. I have no other resources to turn to...I am retired and barely making it on my retirement income. I have worked all of my life and financially responsible. I have been laid off since October of 2009. The only work I've been able to find is temporary work which may last 1 day or a few weeks. I've exhausted unemployment insurance. I've been applying to at least 15 jobs a day, 7 days a week. I call my network of recruiters every week looking for work but it's hit or miss. I was contracted to a 10 month position that was cut to 3 months. I showed up for work on a Monday and was told that morning that the work flow had slowed down and I wasn't needed anymore. I'm ineligible for a new unemployment claim because I haven't met the income threshold due to not having worked for 2 fiscal quarters prior to my claim which I would have if I wasn't screwed out of the contract position. I was already 2 months late on my rent which is $700, due to unemployment checks not being enough to cover the rent and utilities that come to about $300. I choose between eating or having electricity some months. The loss of this job has royally screwed me! I'm now facing being 3 months behind. I'm facing imminent eviction. I've got no where to store my stuff and no way to pay for storage. I'm waiting for the decision for an interview I had Friday but that's not written in stone that I'll get it. I'm just trying to hold on to me and my son's place to live. ANY thing anyone could donate would be greatly appreciated. I've tried applying to gov't agencies for help but they seem to want you on the street already before they offer any help!

2 weeks agoe my significant other fell down a flight of stairs, she has recently lost her job and has NO insurance... she broke her skull, orbital, coller bone, ribs 2,3,&4, L-5 vertibrea, pelvis, and tail bone. We also recently lost our home (trailor) due to a zoning issue. We got a notice and had 30 days to move out and get rid of it. We got a storage shed and went to stay with friends... seperate friends. We have two girls both 10 and things have been really hard on all of us. We already have enough medical bills with my recent neck surgery, and with this... it seems like there is no end to our peril. Ive been staying at the hospital because my love can not yet even stand so ive been by her side. The kids are staying with relatives but I dont know what to do. with no home to rehabilitate in and no insurance no one will take her in when the hospital releases her and she still needs care... PLEASE IF ANYONE CAN HELP OR TAKE THIS STORY TO THIER CHURCH... IM KINDA LOOSING ALL HOPE. We NEED HELP!!!! we could use food, clothes for the girls, money for gas, medical bills, scripts, A DOUBLE WIDE TRAILOR someone is not using or that is vacant in a trailor court... a double wide would be legal on our land, our single wide due to a zoning change was deemed illegal and we had to get rid of it. we went from having a paid for home to not having a place to live at all and now our world seems to be crashing in around us.... PLEASE ANY HELP AT ALL WOULD BE A GOD SEND... especially some help with GAS, scritps, and med. bills, or an old used double wide (central iowa).... 2 weeks agoe my significant other fell down a flight of stairs, she has recently lost her job and has NO insurance... she broke her skull, orbital, coller bone, ribs 2,3,&4, L-5 vertibrea, pelvis, and tail bone. We also recently lost our home (trailor) due to a zoning issue. We got a notice and had 30 days to move out and get rid of it. We got a storage shed and went to stay with friends... seperate friends. We have two girls both 10 and things have been really hard on all of us. We already have enough medical bills with my recent neck surgery, and with this... it seems like there is no end to our peril. Ive been staying at the hospital because my love can NOT YET even STAND so i've been by her side. The kids are staying with relatives but I dont know what to do. with no home to rehabilitate in and no insurance no one will take her in when the hospital releases her and she still needs care... PLEASE SOMEONE HEAR ME Hello Everyone
Well here I am and I don't know where to begin.
I am a middle aged intelligent business woman not a dater partier or drinker. However I am in deep trouble and cant get out without help. I am HOMELESS I moved in with a druggie who said he was not doing drugs anymore. Since I was desperate, I believed him. I have cleaned his home for days in was so dirty, do laundry been cleaning on a daily basis. He moves things around makes messes when he is doing drugs. Lighters in the bed, cigarettes burning ashes all over etc. I have been a caretaker of him and his home. His parents are wonderful Christian people he is not like them at all. His mother had said maybe this is God's will for me to move in. It has taken a toll on me. I have been a great influence on him. He had put a drug in my drink twice I could tell. I confronted him. I am a strong person, this has not been easy. I could see I have made a difference in him. At this point my belongings are in his garage the remainder of my belongings are in storage. I have been here 6 weeks 4 out of the six with no car. He would take me to a job I needed to get too 2 weeks ago. I have been in dire straights' in the house everyday. He has a gate out front which I do not have the code for to get out. He locks the door on me and I have to knock for 2 minutes to get in. I sleep in a room with no heat on. My car broke down once I am penniless, my car guy fixed it free. A 10 year old VW. Now the clutch went therefore I have been grounded. No money to fix it. I asked him since he spends money like water on his children and drugs, however, he says he has none he is on unemployment. He has a history of a felony. I need to get out of here, I do not have a place to go to and no car. Tomorrow he says he is going to put my belongings in the garage on his truck and take it out of here and he expects me to leave. I have no where that I can go. I am behind in my storage fees as well.
When I am on the phone he asks me who am Im taking too, on the computer he thinks I am videoing him his home etc. yes he is parinoid. He was at PASSAGES in Malibu for a few months but it's obvious they did not help him nearly enough. You know if this was a paying job I can I believe work wonders for him. There has been a change in him. It is a challenge but I would do it. I see some progress and that makes me happy. He needs to be held on the right track. I know he doesn't like me here because he really cant be himself. He is limited with me here watching him. Also I have two dogs that have worked wonders with him too... they keep my sanity.There is much too much to explain of what I have been through in my heart Gods knows. Once when he was doing drugs he said he would give me the money I need for my behind storages fees if I don't tell his parents he is doing drugs. I said no Im not that type of person. The more and more I think about it I should have said yes. He hates that I am so straight. Help help help that's all I do I am in a hole and need HELP MYSELF.
