I'm in the process of a divorce due to my husband's habitual drunkenness. He left me, my baby girl, and three dogs in a financial mess. He's in jail now and of course hasn't paid any child support. I need help paying my monthly bills. I have a mortgage,car payment, and he also left me with $20,000 in credit card debt. I have a job, but my expenses are more than I bring in. If you do not wish to donate cash, you can donate gift cards to gas stations, grocery stores, and visa gift cards to pay my bills. I will send you the receipts of what I purchased or paid for. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

I came to VA to start a new life from my home town of Austin Texas yet it seems its getting worst. I am actually in the library writing this. I was staying with my girlfriend but her boyfriend wanted to do sexual activities with me, I said no and they threw me out. I been on the street for 2 weeks now, washing up in gas stations and sleeping where I can find shelter (hospital, old building & lots). Picking out of garbage to eat and going to local soup kitchens. Please I am asking for any type of help to get me off the streets. I went to the local shelters here but so over crowded, they turned me away. Please I beg for any help. Please. I just want to stop sleeping on the streets. Thank you and God bless.

I worked in the Oil and Gas industry for 9 years and I was laid off due to the economy. I was able to receive unemployment which has now run out. I have applied at temp agencies, fast food chains, casinos, bars, gas stations and anything that runs in the paper and online in my area (except for truck driving and Dr. positions) since I am not qualified to do either. I have been out of work for 7 months and still have not received a job yet with the reasons being told that I am either overqualified, under qualified, or there aren't any openings at this time they are just accepting applications. I am receiving food stamps and my children are receiving medicaid but neither food stamps or medicaid help pay my rent, utilities, car insurance or any of the other bills that we have. I am not sure what else to do at this point but to keep looking everyday and hope I find a job soon. Anything would help and be greatly appreciated

I am truly ashamed that I have to beg for help. That being said I do not know where else to turn for help. I am praying that there really are people who care enough to help others who are suffering.

I have been a loyal and faithful wife for 15 years. I've been with the same man for more than half of my life, as I was married very young. We have a 14 year old son and a 10 month old daughter. I would do anything for my family and I have tried for years to keep our family together. All I can say now is that enough is enough. My husband is diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic. It has been extremely difficult dealing with his illness, but now it has become impossible. I've put up with him cheating on me, lying to me, him having alcohol problems, losing his jobs, his controlling behavior etc.. etc.. His illness causes him to believe that everyone is out to get him. He believes his home is bugged by the government as well as his phone. He believes they are tracking him in his vehicle. He believes he gets messages from God through the television and radio stations. He is see's and hears things that are not there. Many times he won't have a normal conversation with me unless we go outside and he runs the lawn mower so no one can listen in! I have tried to get him help and he's been hospitalized and medicated, but it does not help all his symptoms. I know that when your spouse is ill you should stay and take care of them, but I just cannot continue living this way. He is medicated at this time, so he isn't hallucinating. What he is, is extremely controlling. He moved us out of the apartment we were living in after my mother died last year. He moved us in with his mother, who has always disliked me. She treats me horribly. He stays gone all of the time and I am stuck here living in a garage. He has the only vehicle and he controls all of the money. We live in the middle of nowhere so I can't even walk to a gas station. He has alienated me from my friends and my family has all passed away now. All I have besides him is my two children. I would love to be able to work outside the home, but its impossible to do so without a vehicle and childcare. He knows this and just will not allow it.
My only hope is that enough people will understand what I am going through and have pity on my children and myself. All I wish to do is obtain enough money to get on my feet and get out of here. I will then gladly work as I was a Medical Billing Specialist. I will take care of my children and myself.

What I really need to do is move my children and myself into an apartment which runs on the bus line. This way I will be able to take the bus to work each day. After some time I will be able to save enough money to purchase a decent used car.

In my area a two bedroom apartment starts at $550 per month and a 3 bedroom apartment starts at $775 per month. Before I can move I need first and last months rent ($1550 max). $150 for Electricity Deposit. I am estimating that I would need about $500 to pay for a U-haul truck and a couple of guys to help move me in. I also feel that I should not move until I have my next months rent, grocery money and a little extra for miscellaneous expenses ($1275). So, it looks like as soon as I can come up with approximately $3500 my nightmare will finally end!

The good news is that I do have an old co-worker who is in charge of hiring at a medical billing office in my area. She is holding a position open for me in which I will earn $600 gross each week. I know its not much, but I should be able to manage on my own as long as I budget wisely. I should also be able to receive child support payments for my two children at some point in the future.

If you have the means to help my children and myself I plead with you to do so. You would be dramatically changing the lives of three people in a very positive way. I promise that I will never forget any help that I receive and as soon as I am in the position to do so I will pay it forward.

we are in desperate need of money to pay our car payment. Car is needed to get to work.............................Maybe some gas for the car. We have a sunoco station that has the best priced gas..............Also we have filled out a food stamp application but haven't received the card yet. Need some foodto do us a week or too.

I am a single mother of an eight month old boy, having to stay with people so that he has a roof over his head. I lost my job of two years in August 2009 as soon as my Nursing Director found out I was pregnant. I have been trying to get a job since then and have put in applications everywhere. I have tried everywhere from gas stations to hospitals with no luck. They either don't have any positions open or require experience or a degree. I have neither and do not understand how they can expect me to have experience if they won't hire me so that I can get experience. Also some jobs won't hire me because I have Bell's Palsy and Scoliosis; Scoliosis because I am considered an insurance liability if I hurt my back on the job, and Bell's Palsy because they don't want me to work at the front desk to represent their company because the right side of my mouth does not work at all, I cannot smile my right eye does not fully close and waters frequently. I have been told that they need someone with a "sunny appearance" and that I just do not fit that description. Things that I can't help are holding me back from getting a job. I was unable to get my unemployment benefits because my former Nursing Director told them that I quit due to an illness. They then sent me a letter that says pregnant women are not physically fit for suitable work and that in order to get on unemployment I have to work at another job for 30 days. I don't know what to do. I have been looking for a job for over a year. I have been taking care of my eight month old son by picking up change people drop. I really need help and would be so grateful for any kind of assistance I can get. I cannot even get help from the government because I do not have ten people not related to me, that can be reached during the day, that have known me for more than one year, to sign a paper stating that I have no income and that I am actively searching for a job. Everyone that could sign for me is either working during the day, or related to me. I need help to move somewhere that I can get a job. Any job will do, I just need to be able to support my son. I need help getting back on my feet. I would like to thank anyone who might be able to help me in advance.
