Thank you for taking the time to read this.
I am currently homeless in Colorado Springs. Its sad to say, but I am one of many. With the tough economy more people are ending up in my position.
Even though I don't see a "home" any time in my immediate future, I do long for the day I can get off of the cold, often wet, ground.
For less than $60, I can sleep comfortably and safely.
Thank you for your consideration.

60 years old and sleeping on my floor
Posted by Hanovergal51 on 2011-12-29 12:58:43
I recently moved to an apartment and am lucky to have a home and a job. Believe me, I am grateful!! Currently I sleep on a single mattress on my floor. My last job ended in January 2011 and I am working but cannot seem to quite catch up and free up enough cash to afford a bedframe or box springs. The twin mattress is fine but getting up and down with arthritis in my legs and back is tougher every morning. I do not have a couch either, just in case you are wondering why I am not using it as a bed.
I have a home, a job, and food on the table and consider myself truly blessed, but a regular bed would be nice.
A dollar or two from fifty people will go a long way in helping me purchase a used bedframe and boxframe from Goodwill or a thrift shop. I love camping as much as the next Girl Scout but this is tough.
I am single and I live alone. Thanks!!!

$300 and a Laptop

After years of study and hands-on experience I truly have The Goose That Lays the Golden Eggs.
However, in order to fund the Goose, I need to start by trading the Forex. Because of the leverage involved and my system that will limit my risk, I can start this venture with only $300 and a laptop.
I am currently homeless and tonight we are expecting a low of 17 degrees in Colorado Springs. Since I don't drink or do drugs I can take advantage of the emergency shelter locally.
However, many others are not so fortunate. They need help in ways that they are not currently receiving. Many of the homeless have animals, and for that reason alone, they are unable to use the shelter.
Others are like I used to be when I first started going through this ordeal. They are still in their cars and purposely avoid association with the homeless who are not mobile. They may still be working, receiving a government check or nothing at all.
Help Me Help Them by funding my forex trading venture.
What can you expect in return? Your help will not be in vain. If you read the blog you will be able to see the type of person I am (warts and all). I have tried everything from looking for full-time employment, working day labor which is no longer an option because of physical reasons and flying a sign on the side of the interstate.
In addition to the immediate help you provide me, you can also know that you have helped thousands of others in Colorado alone.

Severly disabled son needs clothing and bed, home repair
Posted by bluecrystal on 2011-10-22 22:58:19
My almost 19 year old son, who is autistic and nonverbal, and is not potty trained, needs a full size mattress terribly. He is not toilet trained, and has wet the bed so often I cannot clean it anymore. He has broken the box springs and frame compelty, but my husband has fashioned a frame out of 2 x 4's. His disability causes him to have extreme agression, and he continually breaks windows, makes holes in walls, tears up his clothing, unravels carpet, tore up laminate flooring,so many things. In one week he tore up 5 pair of shorts and 6 shirts, and 6 pair of socks. He even does it at school. He tore up 3 sets of sheets just last month. He wears adult diapers, which cost a lot. The state does give him medicaid, but they only pay for about 1/2 the diapers he uses a month. I am at my wits end trying to keep up with it. Currently there are 6 fairly large holes in the hallway, three in his bedroom, 2 in the dining room, we keep patching them but he keeps making them. I was laid off my job as a special ed aide in 2008, and then I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am currently in remission, but the medical bills are staggering and we are two months behind in rent. We owe $297 to the electric bill and only have 5 days to pay it. My husband has been looking for a second job, but he works long and odd hours and it is hard. I have tried everything to get caught up, but everything keeps happening, car repairs on our 2000 impala cost over $400, we can't get it registered because it won't pass emissions, besides our disabled son we also have a 13 year old. I don't know where else to turn.I need $1500 for rent, $300 for the electric bill, and am desperate for a new mattress or bed for my son. If anyone can help, I would be so thankful, and be sure to pass on the blessings to someone else whenever I get the chance. Thank you so much.
Help Me Help Them
Posted by uhelped on 2011-10-17 14:58:00
Can you see yourself helping thousands of people with a one time donation of $100?
The last two years of my life has been the most difficult financially, but the most rewarding on a spiritual and mental level.
I would not trade these two years for anything in the world.
Like most people, who had never experienced homelessness, I didn't have any idea what the true needs of our nation's homeless were. Most of us think of only food and clothing.
Seeing it from the other side, I have not only seen the need, but will do something about it. 50% of all proceeds from my business (international trading company) will go to meet those needs.
The start-up cost for my business are $3,000. If you can't spare $100, anything will help. By helping me, you will help hundreds of people in Colorado Springs, and eventually, thousands of people across the nation.

Family Needs A Blessing!!!

I am a stay at home mommy of 3 girls. My fiance' and I had twin girls in Nov of last year. Since then we have had one struggle after another. He has a job but is currently waiting on more work to come through. A friend of mine suggested to place an ad on here in hopes that maybe someone out there could send us some help. I know its a long shot but its worth me doing and even if I do not have anyone respond to this then I would at least be thankful that I tried. I have such a hard time asking for money. And it breaks my heart to see people having to do this very thing. But my pride was gone a long time ago. Two weeks ago, we went to a local church for food and they let me look through the clothes closet. Very thankful for them. Im really trying to better my life for my family. I start taking online college courses for Medical Billing and Coding (they call it Health Information Technology ha) in May and it will take me a year and a half to complete. I mentioned that so you could see that Im not just some free-loader or anything. Im trying to make changes for my life so that my children can have a great childhood. My oldest daughter will be 4 in June by the way. I know that by continueing to have faith in God and faith in my family that good things will continue to progress in our lives. If there is ANY financial help you could and would be willing to send please email me and I will respond!!!
Im always sooo eager to meet new people and have new penpals!!!! Thank you soo much. God bless you and yours! :o)

Shelters and Water
Posted by Radu on 2011-03-28 15:58:21
Ladies and Gentlemen: I would like to build several alpine shelters for tourists. Also, I would like to set-up small water captions - somewhere in the mountains from my country.
There are many mineral springs in the area where I live. Most of them have proven therapeutic properties. Unfortunately, they have been abandoned by the local authorities.
I cured myself from a stomach disease after I sistematically drunk water from such a spring! I would like to help others to become healthy, too.
The problem is that the springs are located in remote, difficult to reach areas. I need money to clean up the mountain paths, to pay the construction materials, to transport them up on the mountains, to pay my co-workers, to pay the tools, plus the shelters' endowment, and to acquit countless other smaller expenses.
If I want the job to be done properly, I would have to spend tenths of thousands of dollars. Unfortunately, I do not have such an amount. But I have the will to work hard; and the determination to live in harsh conditions, for several months, in order to materialise my dream.
Any amount you can offer me, it would be welcomed.
At the donor's express wish, I can inlay his/her name on a stainless steel plate, accompanied by the following words: "Spring caption made with the invaluable help of Mr/Mrs [your name]. Please say a small prayer, for your benefactor, before drinking from this water."
I thank you for your generosity.-

Tuition for Bible College

I have a very strong passion to go to a particular Bible College in Colorado Springs. I am 61 years old and love the Lord will all of my heart and I want to serve Him in full time ministry. This school has a three year program that would train me and prepare me to be able to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ with boldness and confidence. My husband has recently left me after filing bankruptcy and losing our home to foreclosure. I have been a stay-at-home mom and grandma and would have sufficient trouble in making ends meet on my own. I would be eternally grateful for any amount of help. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

daughter and grandson need rent and bill help
Posted by workerpoor on 2010-08-14 22:58:58
hi i have a lovely daughter who has a super wonderful son, my grandson who is now facing his last year in highschool. we are a family of workerbees. myself i have two jobs and work 7 days a week, just to keep afloat and to make sure my family at least has a bite to eat. my daughter was laid off as so many Americans have been. i try to do what i can to help them, but it is tough when you then also fall behind on bills, rent and trying to pay taxes owed to this goverment because you work two jobs, the cicle just never ends. we pay paul to pay peter and peter to pay paul, two steps forward and always 3 steps back. i don't get it sometimes, we are simple people and are not material people. iam so grateful we have a roof over our head, that is why i work 7 days a week 58 hours a week. but now i am trying to help my daughter pay her rent, while she stuggles to find a job and keep her apt in tact and put food on her table. iam afraid now it is hitting both of us hard. and my grandson's last year at highschool should be a year of great things, but great things cost money. so to pay rent and bills without income effects all that is in life, iam grateful she has a landlord that is kind and trying to work with her, but really how long can that be...iam not sure what is happing to our country right now, but it is scary as the streets fill with the hungry and the homeless, please help me help them, so they don't end up homeless. any help would help. i could only give my daughter a couple hundred dollars a month towards her rent since her layoff. iam in l.a. and she is colorado springs, and iam thankful as rents are cheaper there! iam sure if she lived here she would have been evicted by now! my plea is for help with her rent. (and if i could put in a beg for me, it would be to a dentist out there that would take my dental insurance and fix my teeth before they fall out of my head. even with insurance i dont have the money to have proper health care for my teeth) and that is just horrible. as bad teeth effect your physical health. my name is debbie and i need your help. thank you from the heart

Needs help in South Central Pa
Posted by stuff on 2010-07-13 18:58:58
I am a cancer survivor with physical disabilities that prevent me from working and living a full life. I am trying to get my health back slowly after the radiation from the cancer treatment nearly destroyed my body and mind. I was forced to move into my mother's garage, where I barely have room to move around. There are so many things I desperately need that most people take for granted. I would deeply appreciate it if anyone could help me with the following:
A new or gently used mattress and box springs, extra firm
A new or gently used microwave preferably with a timer and a clock
Summer clothes size 22-24 or 26-28, winter clothes same sizes
Please contact Lynn at klam46@yahoo.com if you can help. Thank you in advance if you can help in any way and for taking the time to read this.
