I have had a very bad time this year. In January I slipped on the ice and broke my shoulder, resulting in about $17,000 in medical bills. On St. Valentines day my apartment caught fire and I lost almost all my personal possessions. I was lucky that a few items were in my truck. Today I am working for Waste Management Inc. at just over minimum wage and trying to pay off my medical and other debts. I sleep on an air mattress and get much of my food and clothing from charitable organizations. My weekly paycheck will only cover rent and electricity after the the other bills. I know I will live through this but,at 57 years old I probably will never pay off all I owe, or even make it to retirement age.

Hello my name is Amanda and I'm attempting to beg for my family. It is really taking a lot for me to sqush my pride and beg. I'm not sure where to even begin. In the last year we have hit many of bumps in our road. We were rear ended in Oct 2011 after my fiancee lost his job due to a surgery on his shoulder. We then were forced to take the very small insurance check to move into a small one bedroom apartment from a lovely house we lived in. Due to eviction because of loss of job and car. I unfortunately haven't been much help, I've been disabled since May 2011 with chronic back pain, and am currently recovering from a gallbladder removal surgery. I'm fighting for disability with no luck, and due to insurance laws (the type we had) didnt cover much of anything. We are struggling to keep our heads above water right now, and it doesn't help that we just got hit with a water bill we didn't expect. I have injured my shoulder for the second time since becoming a nurse. I worked as a nurses assistant for 20 years and ruined my right shoulder. I can't get workers compensation because this is a repetitive use injury, caused by working at several different jobs. Now I can barely move my right arm without extreme pain. I cannot even work in fast food because of this. My family and I will be homeless soon and I have no insurance. We don't even have food. In Oregon it is very hard to get on the state health care plan. Does anyone know if i drive down to California if I can get medical from the state.

A friend of mine needs his shoulder worked on. His unemployment is final in March and has 3 kids and wife at home. Eldest son is a Marine in middle east.
House roof has a cheap patch that ought to be done better and bank wants to take the house.
It is hard to get a good job with one good shoulder. The operation is at least $20,000. His local church has raised $4,000.

I have never like to ask for money, but I can seem to figure out another way. I will start by telling you a little bit about what is going on. After my husband and I were married his health only allowed him to hold down a job for short periods of time. In 2004, he had to be off for 8 months with carpal tunnel surgery for both hands. Shortly after, he had to have a hernia surgery. In 2007, he had to have neck fusion. The doctors told him that he would be able to return to work in 2 months. The surgery didn't go right and he never recovered properly. It took two years before he evenually got his disablity. In 2009, he began having problems walking. In 2010, he was diagnosed with Gilleon Barre Syndrom. He was temporarily parilized. He spent several months in a wheel chair. He had almost recovered and had learned to walk again when in September 2011, he had a bad 4 wheeler wreck. It broke most of his ribs, both collar bones and both shoulder blades, fractured a bone in his neck, broke bones in his hand and punctured both lungs. He is doing okay now except for the pain that he has to live with. I work part time, because I have to help care for him also. We have over 20 different hospital bills that I have to make payments on each month. We are surviving thanks to God. But we live in a single wide 1976 modile trailer. It has holes all the way through the bottom in the corners of the bedrooms. The walls are rotten and the wiring is bad. There is a short in the outside porch light and one of the lights in the kitchen and the hall light. We have to get another place to live. There is no way we can do it with all of the hospital bills that we have. We are falling further behind every month. We each month. I don't want a huge home, just something that my son won't be ashamed to bring friends home to. Anything you could give would be greatly appreciated. It will take a long time to get as much as I need, but I will keep you posted. Thanks so much for any thing you can do.

Three years ago we adopted a beagle from the local SPCA. She was 27 pounds and had her ribs poking out. We got her upto a healthy happy 50 lbs. She has stomach issues, is timid.. But she is the sweetest girl. She comes up to everyone she meets sits and waits to be loved on. Doesn't bark at all. Wags her tail every time you talk to her. She runs to the door when it's time for a drive. Her favorite treat is beggin strips. Her favorite spot in the house is daddy's side of the bed.
She is in all matters our baby. I came home today to find her left shoulder swollen and she was having a hard time walking. I took her to the Vet ER. They shaved her and believe that she was bit by a spider. They are keeping her overnight. Giving her fluids, antibiotics, and pain medicine. Even though she is hurting, her tail is wagging.
The total vet bill is over 700.00 dollars so far. I will be picking her up in the morning. Over the past year we have pushed our credit cards to the limit. I was able to come up with the money. But now I don't have money for the rent. And the vet is expecting her to need more care over the next couple of days as the skin "sluffs" off.
My husband and I don't have any family to turn to. I have never begged for money. I've always been able to push through any of life's difficulties. I cried all evening that I'm unable to come up with any more money. Any help will go towards the 700 dollars that I've shorted my budget and to prevent bounced checks.

I have never begged for noney befor as I am very prideful.Howver, sometimes you have to swallow your pride. I have for several years paid the mortgage my daughters private school etc. But I am self employed builder. I recently had to have complete shoulder reconstruction to my left shoulder and when that heals I will have to have surgery on right. Being self employed when I don't work, I don't make anymoney. I can't afford to get my wife or daughter anything for christmas or pay the mortgage (1200.00). I will be out work for 6 months. I have no idea what I can do. Greetings. I am a 55 year old male who has worked his whole life since the age of 13 until January 31, 2009. On that day I was injured at work where I was a supervisor. The fall resulted in two shoulder surgeries over a period of 16 months. End result is that I can no longer do the work I have done my whole life. Worker's Comp ran out well over a year ago. I have some disabilities but not enough to qualify for SSI or SSID. I managed to get some funding to attend Computer Tech school, and have three certifications done and working on my forth. There is about six more months of schooling. With no income, I have been living off of my savings, but my savings is gone. I can not pay my simple bills, rent, electric, water and such. I have sold my car...and use the public transportation system to go to school and back. I am looking at becoming homeless with no way to continue my education as scheduled due to this inability. There is no local help for "cash"... I do get some food assistance, but that is it. No community resources are available for those who are attending school for help with bills. In the past, I have donated and contributed to many persons and causes as I used to make excellent money in the construction field, but now I find myself in the dire need of what I once gave freely with no thought of return. In May of 2000,I was hit BY a teen age drunk driver who ran a ored light ,I was on my harley ,she broadsided me.the wreck left me with a crushed left foot,a broken shoulder.anda messed up neck and back. I have not lost my love for motor cycles.,but for me to join bikers for Christ I will need a motorcyle in order to take long trips to reach out and do missionary work. So I am asking for donations. I am raising funds for the best software I can buy. I have very painful carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis and fibromyalgia. I make money selling on eBay and Craigslist. My house is in foreclosure and I am doing my best to save it. I have applied for hundreds of jobs and have only gotten some temp, part-time work. I could make good money selling on consignment for others, but must be able to be on the computer...and it is very painful-- in my elbow and shoulder joints. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am 65 years old. 20 years ago I fell on a patch of ice I managed to dislocate my right shoulder chronically
and broke a few ribs. a few moths later I herniated 3discs in my lower spine and of course damaged a nerve or two
Leaving me unable to stand or walk. It took me 15 years but i finally managed to walk
very short distances with the aid of a back support and a cane. Along the way I developed type2 diabetes and of course while I was stumbling around I tripped and dislocated the other shoulder.
So back to the Chair for a while. I started coughing and could not find anything that stopped the coughing.
My doctor says I have asthma. So now we add an inhaler to the lengthening list of drugs.

Then when I finally start to get out of the chair I developed chest pains and shortness of breath.
I went into a heart hospital for the scope threw my inner thigh so they could see how bad my arteries were. Because I failed the stress test completely. Whatever they saw that morning was pretty bad. They kept me sedated and the next morning I had Quad Bypass surgery - - They could not figure out why I was not dead.
There was very little blood getting threw my heart.

I woke up 3 days later with tubes every where. There was a large incision and they used wires to hold my breastbone together.
The years I spent in a wheelchair took a toll. .....It seems the human body is not designed to remain sitting all the time.
I am 6ft -250 lbs.
So of course Two years later the wires unraveled, tore lose or broke.
They cut me open on the same scar and after a bone graft they put in 3 large titanium plates with 34 screws.

I t now costs $1500 per month for insurance (just for me plus whatever my wife has to pay for herself.)
Between the mortgage and my drugs and the thousands for copays on the two surgeries We have nothing in the bank and my wife still owes over $60,000 in student loans.

But, you know -I just have to hang around to see what the hell happens next.

I inherited my late fathers car when he passed away. It is currently falling apart to the point I can't afford to fix it. I am forced to sell it as much as this hurts.First the hurt of loosing my dad, and now this!! I am one of the few that have a job and I am going to college full time as well. I'm a college grad who has worked as a counselor for 3 years in New York. I need to relocate because my psycho ex is being released from prison for trying to kill me soon. I have decided rather look over my shoulder the rest of my life that I need to move to another state and start over. I have no one that can help and working as a counselor in a non profit agency leaves me with no money to relocate. I have been trying for months to find ways to get money and I have sold everything I own to move but I'm still in need of money to successfully do this. I am on the verge of being homeless. I need cash to help pay my rent which is now late. I have been looking for work for the past two months with no luck. I have applied to over 80 jobs. My boyfriend is post kidney transplant and now has to have a pancreas transplant because the anti rejection drugs killed his pancreas. He also has to have surgery on his shoulder due to severed ligaments. We also found out recently that the dr wants to have his thyroid removed as well. He is currently fighting Social Security to get it reinstated because they cut him off over a year ago and they claim that he is able to work. I have a 13 year old daughter that needs clothes esp with school starting next month. I am also trying to take care of my father's finances but he is deep in a hole and has no money to pay his rent this month either. I am on the verge of mental breakdown unless something happens quick. This is my last desperate hope for a miracle. Can anyone help us out?
