My family is like a lot of others right now. My husband has been laid off for over a year now and no prospects of a new job. Kids have moved back home with us and our food supply is dropping low.

We planted a garden that is big enough to handle the family (7 families in all!! Thank GOD not all of them are married with kids!) I have (I think) plenty of jars scrounged from other places, dumps etc. But what I DO NOT have are the lids! You can't can if you don't have the lids. I'm looking for the reusable "tattler" lids and rings. That way I don't have to find new ones after every use.

We have a family business that we run abroad which has fallen on its knees and has required new investment to get it back in form. I had to take my son out of school to bring down my personal expenses as well. I enrolled him in a state side school in Tucson Az. Now this school is great but they won't ship his school supplies to me and therefore i have to have them reshipped here to our location.

I would prefer someone who has a dhl, fedex, or ups account just assume the cost of shipping on their account and it be over and done with and have them shipped. If the only means by which i can do this is to receive several smaller donations, then great this would be a great help too. I have taken pride in being able t pay my own bills and always saw to it my rent and all was paid first out of my paychecks.
On December 23 201l, I went to work as usual on ly to leave work that day without a job. Everyone fears this.
I am now 5 weeks behind in rent and am about to be thrown on the street. I go out every day seeking work but there just does not seem to be anything out there. I have applied for shipping and receiving jobs for which I have experience, but apparently 10 years is not enough experience.
I would much rather be working so any job leads would be greatly appreciated. I have to prioritize and keeping a roof over my head is also a high priority. I will even consider some type of work that I can do at home without a computer if necessary. I need to get the rent paid and get a steady income. There are jobs that I could do but could not apply for because I don't have the years of experience the employer wants. I realize that there are many people in need. I don't have family or friends to fall back on like most people. I have been pretty much a loner.
$525.00 would pay the back rent and help me keep my place. I tried to go to Family Independent Agency but they won't help until I can get a job. My past employer is fighting my unemployment and it is now in the protest stage. I had hoped to have it by now.

Hello readers, My name is Misty, and over the last 6 months life has been getting quite difficult and over whelming. I am a single mother with 4 children, I lost my home a couple months ago, I was served with a 24hr eviction notice on a saturday night. Not knowing what to do on sunday except pack and move everything into storage. i sold my mobile home for only 500 to some guy who takes advantage of people like me. "in my position." the 500 was enough to cover storage for a month a truck to move everything and a motel room for a week. The worst part is after everything was moved out and on tuesday i called the main office to be told the 24hr eviction was a mistake and i can come back. lol i sold my home and the already broke it down and was shipping it to canada. I was forced to sell most of my valubles to keep up with the motel. on christmas eve i could no longer afford the motel rates and now we are living in my car which barely runs. My children were very sad christmas morning, My storage unit bill is past due, and now i may lose everything else. i found a house but cant afford security deposit. i have 3 girls and 1 boy, and we really need to get off the streets, and save are stuff in the storage unit. please help us. I am a retired 67-year-old man living on a very small pension. A Desperate Plea for HELP… Donations for Luxating Patella Surgery!


I have a Service Dog named FiFi who is a Medical Alert Dog.
My Service Dog has been diagnosed with an extreme case of Severe Bilateral Medical Luxating Patella, confirmed by two separate veterinarians, who consider it to be a chronic and serious medical condition. The grooves in her femurs, where the kneecaps are supposed to ride, are very shallow and have caused her kneecaps to slip out of socket to the inside of the legs. Her kneecaps cannot be manipulated back into place by hand.
She has developed the condition bilaterally, on both sides, her condition is at a Grade 5 out of 5 in both hind knees, which is the most severe, and she needs surgery ASAP on both limbs.

The Luxating Patellas are causing constant pain and discomfort, decreased energy level, tiring quickly, bony protuberances, bowlegged, crouching stance, swollen knees and joints, poor coordination, loss of balance, limited mobility, stiffness when walking, a change in posture, lack of appetite, and arthritis pain.
When she is able to walk she does so with one of her hind legs further out from her body, while the other affected limb is always being carried because it is much too painful to use. For the most part, she must balance her weight on her front legs as she walks, while holding her hindquarters off the ground, which is severely uncomfortable to say the least. She is no longer able to walk, or even stand on her left hind leg, and is not able to move it.

The recommendation is for her to have corrective surgery on both knees within 2 weeks. The surgeon advised that, if left untreated, the condition will worsen and may lead to rupture of the cruciate ligament as well as painful deformation of the leg bones as she continues to grow. The surgery involves deepening the trochlear groove and modifying the joint capsule to prevent the kneecap from slipping out. If there is significant deformation of the leg bones, they will have to be cut, realigned and pinned. She will have approximately 8 weeks of recovery time.

As you can imagine, this surgery will not be cheap. The estimated cost (at a reduced price) is approx. $1,900 to $2,000, per leg, not including pre-op lab work, post-op rechecks, X-rays, narcotic pain medicine, a custom-built Wheelchair for Toy Breeds (to help her get around), plus miscellaneous other medical supplies that she will need after surgery. The Wheelchair (as prescribed by her Veterinarian) must be ordered online and costs $249.00+ Tax + Shipping and Handling charges).

If FiFi does not get the surgery she needs she will be forced to live a life of constant pain with a permanent luxation that could develop into degenerative joint changes, bone deformities of the femur and tibia, and may not be able to walk ever again!

Any donation that you can make towards FiFi's surgery would be greatly appreciated!

FiFi is an adorable Toy Pomeranian with a Sweet and Loving Disposition; a Sparkling Personality and Magical Charm. She is very clever, well-mannered, and is unusually calm and quiet. She is one smart dog!
She has brought so much Joy and Blessing into my life; I can't ever imagine life without her! Wherever I go, FiFi brings out the best in people. I know she brings out the best in me. I have formed a special bond with FiFi. She is not only my Service Dog; she is also my Best Friend and part of my Family.

My dog is a Service Dog, and she's paid her dues. It is a lot of money, but my dog deserves it. She's only 7 years old.

If it were for me, I would not ask for help.

But it's for FiFi!

Definition of Luxating Patella:

(Luxated Patellas are a congenital (present at birth) condition. The actual luxation may not be present at birth, but the structural changes which lead to luxation are present. A Luxating Patella, or Patellar Luxation, is a condition that involves the dislocation of the knee cap, where it rotates to either the inside or the outside of the leg. A Luxating Patella can result from a traumatic injury or from a birth defect, but it is primarily passed down through ancestral genes).
Grade IV. The Patella cannot be replaced manually, and the leg is carried or used in a crouching position. Extension of the stifle is virtually impossible. Tibial rotation is quite severe, resulting in a "bow legged" appearance.

In the late 1990's, my wife and I came separately from Peru to the United States. We met here, fell in love and married. We now have four beautiful children ages 12 through 3.

We have never been able to adjust our immigration status here. It was never a problem to find a job and feed our family. But now, I have lost my job and cannot find a new one. My wife cleans houses and we live on the little money she brings in. We live in fear because the police in our town are stopping everyone. We do not want our children to see us deported and the family torn apart.

We have worked hard all these years. We never took help from the government even when we could - no food stamps, no medicare. We paid all our bills. We even paid social security taxes but will never be able to retire with that money.

We want to return to Peru. We ask your help for the airfares, shipping our few personal belongings and setting up a home there. Now, I speak English so I can get a job in tourism there. We will keep our children in bilingual school so they don't lose their English. They will have the chance after college to come back, they are US citizens, but my wife and I don't want to return.

I know that there are many families out there that do not have anything. I will not lie, my bills are usually paid...things are really hard and my fiance works constantly while I stay at home with our two young children but we do have a roof over our head.
