Dumped Dad

Posted by dumpeddad on 2012-05-24 10:58:50

Some moths ago, I came home from a normal day at work, happy to see my two little boys (Josh 3 and Liam 4 months) and what I used to consider my better half. I walked in to find the house empty - no note, no indication of what had happened. I toyed around with calling the police, but it was clear this wasn't a missing persons case, or a robbery or anything else other than what it was. Everything was gone. Phone disconnected, bank accounts cleared out, credit cards closed. Suddenly it was me, the house and the car and nothing else. After a few days of searching, talking to family, friends and yes even filing a police report - not they cared much - I discovered I had been dumped for a guy my wife had been seeing for months. We has only just signed the lease less than a month before, and I thought we were really happy together. There were no signs - nothing that I saw at least. This really isn't the part that hurts, I can live with all this; it's her life and her decision. What really hurts is not seeing my boys.

During the first few days I didn't work, too busy trying to piece together what had gone on and why and how it had come to this right under my nose. The rent still needed to be paid, even though the house was unfurnished and too big for me alone. I was (and still am) locked into the lease! Problem number one.

Problem number two is rather more complex. Last Friday I received two letters. The first from a solicitor (our version of what you would call a lawyer) informing me of divorce proceedings and the second was sent a letter from the Child Support Agency informing me my wife is seeking child support payments from me. Now, I'm no deadbeat dad! I think all parents should pay for their children's needs but here I am - rent on a house I don't need, no furniture (some friends have lent me a TV and cooking utensils and a couch), no money to contest the proceedings and on top of that she wants me to pay child support while she's shacked up and living a 'normal' life with my boys, whom I haven't seen since.

I've seen a solicitor who advised me he wouldn't bill me for the first meeting - we talked about the situation, and what he could do from here... It requires more than I have, to achieve what I want and what I think is fair! All I want to do is split our assets 60/40 her favour (she has the kids). Get out of this lease that I'm legally locked into, and get shared custody of my beautiful little boys. Problem is she has the assets and without a court order to either return a portion to me or divest herself of some of the assets so I can be compensated, I can't pay a solicitor and barrister to get the money to do all this. Once it's all settled I'll happily pay my child support requirements, see my boys and leave her out of my life, seeing that's what she wants.

My solicitor has told me I could be up for as much as $10,000, but $6000 should be a good starting point. His firm wont proceed without knowing they'll be paid - fair enough, but what's a man to do in this situation?

I am literally begging for $6000. I haven't wanted for anything in my life - I've always worked and worked hard for what I had, but when it's all taken away from you, you realise how vulnerable we all are. I'm pledging that whatever I receive from this site that's not used in the case, I will pay forward, to another needy soul from this site. Please help... My heart and thanks, and that of my boys will go out to you.

Update: 6th Jan 2012. I've managed to get the proceedings heard at a later date, due to my personal situation. But nothing has changed. I still don't have the funds to fight this and to date not one response to my plea for help. I'm begging - literally for some assistance. I haven't seen my boys since December and I can't fight this without your help.

Update: 25th May 2012
I have nothing to fight her with. No funds, no will and no motivation. The house has been re-leased and the owner has started legal proceedings against me, I have nothing but what she left me. I am trying my hardest to provide some money for my two kids - that I haven't seen since December. I can't go on like this. No-one can!

Run of Bad Luck

Hello world, my name is Paul and life has been a bit rough here of late for my whole family. I lost my job do to company cut backs a couple months back and we just cannot seem to get back on our feet. We did have money in savings and that got us by for a bit, I was denied unemployment and the appeals are still going. I try my damnedest to find replacement work with no luck.
I have had many interviews and am found over or under-qualified for the job. All that tells me is I should look into school, but I got to get some sort of job to be able to juggle that option.
Me and my 10 year old daughter just got settled into our place after living with family for a few months and I would really hate to see us right back where we were. With how things are going however that seems to be the outcome. With my savings gone, no work coming in, I was forced to sign up for government aide that truly isn't what one would think. The food stamps are indeed a god send but the money they have to help wont even pay my rent, let alone the rest of our bills.
I like to think that I am a proud man and this does nothing to help that, begging is not something you can manage proudly. I don't really know if this will amount to much but I cant say I tried everything until I have. So if you find yourself in a place to be able to help, I can say that we would be eternally grateful and that in the end all things come back around.

Thank you for your time

Please Help me. This is my last hope

Am a 28 year old from Africa with one kid. My huband threw me out of the house simply because he met a younger prettier woman with whom he sired a kid while we were still married/living together. He wants nothing to do with me and our 5 year old son. Now i have moved back home to my mother's house, I have to pay for my son's schooling, buy his food, keep clothes on his back and yet i have no job. I have been looking for a job for the last 4 months to no avail. I have a Bachelor's degree but i have no experience and connections the 2 critical ingredients to getting a job on this side of the world. The only little money i had when i was chased away from my matrimonial house i used it to pay for my son's school fees for the first term of the year and now he's closed school for Easter i have no idea how am going to raise school fees for next term which resumes in a few weeks. I'd like some help starting over, money for paying rent deposit and rent plus also money for my son's schooling as i look for a job. My mum's house is so small, she is diabetic and i dont want to add to her many problems and stress. I can be contacted on jemytoni@gmail.com. Thanks alot for reading. Any help will be higly appreciated and when am settled i will donate back every penny.

law help

Hi, I’m Kenny a Filipino-American urgently in need of $340 to pay an attorney to finish my legal Complaint. I originally paid the attorney $300 to begin the Civil Complaint and was under the impression that would be sufficient for him to complete it. But two days ago he told me that the principle cause of action has taken considerably more time (3hours – he only charges $100/hour as he has a full time law job in Oakland) to compose in a strong fashion. I desparately need help, the merits of the case are 95% in my favor. I have an aging grandfather (79 years old) who I need to pay back with the proceeds from this lawsuit.

I would be help to verify everything I’m saying to that person who is willing and able to help me overcome my impasse. I would be willing to pay back this gift once the suit is settled.

Please, please help me.

Family of 6 needs relocation assistance

Posted by KRYSTALR4 on 2012-03-15 17:58:08

I am sure you've heard all sorts of stories and this is a last resort for me but I figured I'd give it a try. I am a mother of 4 children with a husband who is disabled due to seizures. Last year he had 36 seizures in 6 hours and was airvacced to a big city hospital out of our town, since then he lost his job and was told he won't be able to work. I have been at home since 2001 and have had a very hard time finding a job here other than maybe babysitting here and tutoring there. We have a great opportunity being offered to us in Texas but we need to come up with the money to relocate our family. I have sold everything we don't need or we can live without but it's still not enough to pay the remainder of our bills here then make the move and get settled there. We have a job offer as well as a house offer but it still takes money to move our belongings and that is what I am asking for help with. I just want to give my children a better life and where we are now that isn't available. Where we want to move to will not only give them better options in schooling, medical care, but it will also give my husband better access to neurologists. We have one son with Spina Bifida and one with growing problems which will soon result in the need for surgery if he doesn't have access to better options. Anything will help!!! We have never had to ever ask for any type of help and have always been the ones people come to when they need help, but now that we have ran out of our savings and we need the help it seems that all of our "friends" have vanished. I don't want to be rich but I do want the opportunity to provide the best I can for my children!! Thank you so much for even taking the time to read this! Like I said I KNOW everyone has a story and you have probably seen this one a million times but I thought I'd try....

Hi.

Thanks for taking the time to read my request. I'm 30 years old, still in college and living with my parents. I've made a lot of great accomplishments in my life with far less support than most people who make it this far. Of course, with that said I've also made plenty of mistakes.

I grew up with a single parent, and another parent who visited annually just to stir up emotions and make my life miserable. When I was 18, I decided to work really hard to lose weight so that I could join the US Air Force. I had a strict plan that I was going to follow to succeed in life.

Unfortunately my superiors in the USAF would not accommodate that plan to independence as they forced me to find my own way from the barracks to work (a 40 mi drive), so I had to immediately struggle to get my drivers licence and I had to buy a car on an Airman's paygrade.

My income wasn't enough to afford the car and gas and other living needs that I was expected to pay, so eventually I had to leave the Air Force before my term was up (under honorable conditions). I tried to work as a civilian. The transfer was tough and I was vastly uninformed about what to do and what my options were. I'm the first first generation college student of my extended family.

After some petty jobs that would each take more than 10 years to be able to earn enough to live independently, I finally found a nice nighttime custodian job that was at least simple enough for that kind of pay. I was the night time custodian, but I was also a guy to have on call at this retirement home where I worked. If people's toilets flooded or a nearly deaf resident left their tv on past quiet hours (once I could hear one through 3 floors!) I was the guy to send up to fix it.

Having my first satisfying job as a civilian, I was able to investigate community college during the day, so eventually I enrolled and tried taking a few classes while working full-time. College was my saving grace. I never felt like I belonged anywhere until I first started to take college courses in math, science, and philosophy. I found the tutoring lounge on campus, made a lot of friends there, and I spent many hours cramming and helping those in need.

This soon led to me finding financial aid, making arrangements with my parents (my mom and my stepfather) to let me go to school full-time while I lived with them, and putting in my 2 weeks notice at work to focus exclusively on school.

My counselors advised that I pick where I want to transfer to and then figure out the details of how to get there after I got accepted. I think this was bad advice. While I ended up choosing to transfer to a university that had my desired major, Biophysics, it was 60 miles away from where my parents lived. My car that I had bought when I was in the Air Force also eventually broke down from not being able to afford maintenance while I worked, and was towed away for being in the public street for too long.

Finally, I got accepted to UC San Diego to work towards a degree in Physics with a specialty in Biophysics. When it came time to transfer, I got as involved as I could on how and when I was supposed to receive the financial aid so that I could go get an apartment and everything, and my school kept telling me, "you should get it tomorrow" until about 2 weeks into my first quarter when I finally got the support.

Despite this rocky start, I managed to get into a good shape for myself, making my way slowly but surely through school. Learning a great deal. Eventually when I felt the struggle was too difficult, I changed my major to Neuroscience before I began my upper division coursework.

So, as I settled into my schooling and struggled with maintaining financial independence on financial aid, I managed to get myself into maintaining a great aquarium hobby, owned two great little kittens from a street cat program, led as president of a student organization for one year, and eventually I got married. I also carefully learned about the stock market and managed to make some great gains with money that I had invested from financial aid savings.

In 2010, my gains were over 100%. That amounted to $2000 doubling itself, but still, that says a lot about me as a trader. However, 6 months into my marriage, she said she wanted out, grabbed the car that we both paid into (most of the money was mine from stocks; $5500 worth), and refused to pay her share of 2 months rent. That happened in December of the year of 2010.

2011 was a difficult year for me. I fought hard to maintain things, especially my head, but it was tough. I lost 45 lbs from exercising regularly, made lots of new friends, and I got some volunteer work experience in a Neuroscience lab. But I just couldn't focus well enough to maintain my finances and my grades, so I had to drop out and live back with my parents.

Despite how tough it's been, not finding work, struggling with the ins and outs of the VA, and just needing a professional therapist to talk to and help me keep my head straight but never being able to get one, I've managed to recuperate well enough and learn a lot more about this bottom floor of society that I've been so desperately trying to escape my whole life.

I've gone looking for opportunity in every direction. I've tried changing my career goals, collecting recyclables, writing online, trying any online scheme that didn't include me forking out money to get it, imagining what I could write as a novel, tried to make money through playing video games, making goal after goal after goal for myself, but still just not being able to get just the right amount of money to put me back on my feet.

I'll be going back to school in April at the risk of having to do it as a homeless person if the VA doesn't pull through for me. They recently approved my 10% service connected disability status and now I need to jump over a few more hurdles to get my more significant service connected disabilities recognized. I'm also seeing what the vocational rehab people can do for me despite the bureaucratic issues that are stopping them from helping me all the way.

BTW, this whole time that I've gone through life with common lower class difficulties, I've been disabled with a number of small conditions that all add up to a hard time. I have lower back issues that the military has yet to own up to. Community college found also that I have a learning disability which makes some intellectual tasks show up as lower than average ability for me while the rest of my intellect is high enough to expect that I could easily get a Masters Degree or a PhD. My biggest difficulty in school is that they don't give me enough time to show them what I know or what I'm capable of.

From working with special needs students as a tutor, I have proven to myself that there is a major problem in the education system. Most teachers never simplify the material into a clear picture of what they want to teach. If you want someone to learn something, the last thing you should be fuzzy on is what it is exactly that you want them to learn. We can't all work like intuitive Jedi or sophisticated parrots.

If you help me out, here is a list of the priorities of what your money will go towards, in order of their priority If you would like to request that I spend your donation on a specific cause, please let me know:

1. A working cheap economic vehicle.
I need something that I can sleep in and that will take me wherever I need to go. Preferably something that can stow quite a few recyclables as well to pay for gas, but not an SUV or truck or van (Unless that's all that is cheap of course. Not likely but you never know.).
I'll aim for great gas mileage, but I'm thinking that I should attend some police car auctions to see what the cheapest deal I can find is. This car would make a great shelter for me while I return to my far away school.

2. Investing on the stock market.
Trust me, I know how to fish. If you want to send me a request for proof I'd be glad to compose some evidence of my finest moments as well as my worst to show you that I can do well for myself on the stock market, even during the recession. What I could really use right now, is a little bait. Trading is good money for me, but to make enough to make gains worth more than the commission cost (about $10), you need about $300-1000 per investment. $300 is more for the high risk lottery plays on the market. I even made a blog about it if you would like to see:
http://www.squidoo.com/TheYoungidealistEconomyBlog
If you are willing, we can arrange something personal so that you wont need to worry about me putting the money you offer at high risk and blow it all. Might even be able to arrange something where I could make money for you to prove myself before accepting your donation. Whatever the case, I know we'd have to make it a personal arrangement to satisfy the current laws.

3. Working towards paying my debts to my friends.
My friends have been really supportive through these hard times, though they are starving students themselves. To keep up my morale they've bought me food, given me a place to crash when they could, and even paid to have me join them at fun local events. I have some money that I've promised them back, and I plan on making due on those promises as soon as possible.

4. Paying off my debts with companies.
I've had times where I couldn't afford to pay for rent and had to leave, like when my wife left me to live with her parents. These issues follow me on my credit score and I would like to work towards removing them so that I can turn my life around.

5. Getting a good start towards paying off my student loans.
I know I won't be able to pay them off before I find a good career with my degree. I would just like to have something to start making some automatic payments with and put that part of my bad credit score behind me as well.

6. Buying a home.
My mom never owned a home. No offense meant to land lords out there, but I really think the rental system is way out of line. My mom was always a hard worker. Way better than me, yet she could never own a home because she didn't have the money. Meanwhile, people with money could live in great big houses for less than she even had to pay.
I want a house to own. Probably start with a condo and seek ways to improve it and flip a profit out of it. Then I want to keep building up money from housing until I can manage to build an apartment building.
If I could, I'd like to make an apartment building near a university that offers cheap housing using the Japanese capsule model or something even more economic and more comfortable.

7. Making an online tutoring site meant to offer free tutoring and tutoring for tips. Imagine a site (I have yet to know of one) where people can collect their resources on a class, much like they collect info on ratemyprofessor.com, but also seek help from others who are taking the class or who have taken the class. Donors like you can offer money to tutors who post their notes and stories on the site, alongside ratings from other students that they helped.
Some tutors can offer their rates for help, sell their notes online for cheap, or just offer their help whenever they can and ask to be tipped through paypal if someone likes their work. My hope is that such a site could help to put an end to sophistry in the college system once and for all, making education easy and affordable for everyone.

8. After I have everything I'm hoping for above, the sky is the limit. But I would prefer to put the extra money that I don't need to good uses. I would spread a little philanthropy around, give to others in need on this site and through other resources.
I'd also look to teach others how to fish. I think a great way for the economy to be fixed would be if philanthropists made some really good employee owned companies. Make the place pay for itself, skim a little off the top, and walk away knowing that you really were a job creator.
I think that everyone who is capable of work and who chooses to work deserves to have their own independent living situation. I know that we are a long way from that, but I tend to be an optimist. I would like to try and make the world a better place, if nothing else.

Aside form financial help, I'm interested in anything else that I could get that's useful. Advice, Neuroscience Career connections, work, hobby or volunteer work that can easily become lucrative, I'm really all ears. Thanks again for taking the time to read my request. I hope you find it in you to help me out, even get to know me if you'd like. Bet you $5000 I can make you laugh. Did I win? >;) it was worth a try anyway.

Trying to get back home

Posted by avrilynne on 2012-02-28 23:58:53

I had a really good job about six months ago working as an independent contractor from home. I had a point in my work where things were going pretty well. I had saved up enough to take an extended vacation to spend time with all of my family members, since I was planning on going back to school this coming fall. I took a leave from work for a while thinking I could jump right back into it when I needed to. About a month ago I went back to my job to start saving up money so I could get back home. But everything had changed. Somehow I was spending more time than before but making a lot less money. I have about two weeks to get back home to get settled and prepare for school. I have things like travel expenses, rent and deposit on an apartment. Right now I am about $1,000 dollars short to make it happen. I would be asking my family for help but for me it is hard to admit failure since they are so proud of me for being successful in my work. I am absolutely not the type to beg for money but at this point I have exhausted all of my options and I know that if I can just get past this roadblock I can succeed. I am asking for your help in whatever way you can help me. I would even be willing to take a personal loan and pay you back because I know once I can get past this, money will not be a problem. I appreciate your time and consideration and hope that you can help me out in my time of need.

Motorcycle accident..please help

Posted by tadwisn on 2012-01-21 14:58:09

September 2011: Had a nearly fatal motorcycle accident on Lucent Blvd. in Denver. The events leading up to the accident I am unclear of, all I remember is waking up underneith a car and couldnt move. I remember the ambulance showing up to extricate me. Apparently I had a shattered pelvis and a broken humorus. I also sustained another concussion. I never was a big fan of the helmet, in fact very rarely did I wear one. I just happened by chance to decide to wear one that day, if I hadnt I'd be dead. It used to be that I struggled to survive, now I struggle to exist. This account is by my wife:

On September 28th, 2011
My husband Trevan had an accident on is his way to an Interview and he was going on Lucent to get on to the highway on C470 and was not able to see with the dew on the street and sun glare. He didn’t see the car at the stoplights, going on to C470. Didn’t know or see that it was stopped at the light. The sun was so bad that he slammed right into the person in front of him and went over the handlebars of the motorcycle and over the person’s car and was found underneath the car. The Paramedics found him under the person’s car and had to pull him out from under it.

I got a call about 8:15 am from the fire department letting me know that my husband was in an accident. I was so scared I was trying to get my son ready for school and get my daughter ready to so I could take him. I was told that he was taken to Littleton Hospital and that I can call over there and get info on how he is doing. Instead of me calling the ER the ER nurse called me and gave me some info about what they are doing and what ER room they are taking him to. They took some x-rays and he couldn’t be moved because they were not sure about his back. So they did the x-rays in the ER. That is what the nurse told me that they were doing and that he was stable. The nurse also said if I could get to the hospital as soon as I could, it would be a good idea to come since the police and fire department was still there. I told her I would try. I called my mother in law to let her that her son was in an accident and I called my mom. There were other people that I called too. When I got there and I had to park so far in the back of the hospital that I had to ask for directions to get to the ER from the outpatient so I could be there with my husband. When I got there it was very hard to see what he looked like. He had a neck brace on and his left arm was all wrapped up like a present. He had a big gash on the inside of his right leg that was pretty wide and you could see the fat and it kept on bleeding. They would not take off the brace from his neck because they didn’t know what else was going on with him. I met the ER doctors and they told me that he is in quite bit of pain, and that he was starting to not know what happened off and on. I tried to see if he could tell me himself but could not remember. One of the ER doctors was very concerned about the blood in his urine so they took him to another place in the hospital to do some more tests on him. My mom in the mean time called me and told me that she was on her way to be at the hospital with me for support, I told her that I really need some comfort and to keep it together. When she got here Trevan was not yet taken to get tested yet so my mom said hi to him and ask him questions. Then with the ER nurses came in to take him for the tests my mom ask the nurse what kind of test that they were going to do on him and they said it is to check for internal bleeding. When Trevan was taken back we went to sit in the waiting room in the ER. My mom kept asking me questions but I could not answer any of them, because I have not been told about any thing besides what the nurse told me on the phone before I got there. I ask the nurses that were still around they’re about where his belonging were because I needed to know if his wallet and other things like ring and glasses was there. They handed me the beg that had his wallet and other things that they took off of him. I took the beg with me so I could go through it and see if every thing was still with him. His wedding band was in there his wallet was in there and socks and helmet was there too so I took it with me out to the waiting room. There was also a ticket that the police left in it too. My mom took a look at it to find out what all happened. It just said it was his fault but we didn’t think it was his fault, but later on we did fine out it was his fault but we took care of it for him while he was in the hospital. While we were waiting Trevan’s mom came with my daughter to see him but he was still not back in the Trauma room. After a while they finally moved him to a room so we all went there. They took him to the ICU and we had to keep our hands clean at all times coming and going. Trevan was put on many powerful pain medicines for the pain. He was put on dilaudid and he was on that for a while but then he was inching so bad that they took him off of that and put him on morphine he was a little better but still was itching like crazy.

Doug and Jan drove out here on Wednesday night they didn’t stop except for brakes and gas but they drove all the way through so could see Trevan. They arrived at the hospital at 3:30 am. Trevan didn’t remember that his dad and step mom came to see him the first night. I told him twice that they were here and he just didn’t remember it. Every one came to see Trevan everyday Doug and J, Karen and John Hager, Kehli, his mom Beverly. Doug and Jan were here for four days and they were here also for the surgery. We had a lot of people in the waiting room Beverly and our kids, me, and Doug and Jan. I was happy that I had that many people there with me because I was very upset.

October 1st 2011
Trevan had his surgery on both the pelvis and the humerus bone. The doctor started with his pelvis first he said it was the quick one and that Trevan didn’t loose much blood with that one. Then the doctor moved Trevan to another table to do the other part of the surgery. He lost a little bit of blood when they did his surgery on the arm they had to give him two pints of blood. The doctor did come out to tell us the update as he did them and how everything was going. He showed us before and after x-rays. The doctor did a great job of fixing Trevan up. Then after the surgery was done he was in recovery room for about an hour and a half. They moved Trevan to his room afterwards and he still was not doing hot. He kept saying that the room was moving and it made him sick. He tried to keep his eyes closed but it made him even feel worse. He also kept asking for ice chips which I feed to him as much as I could. He was better by the evening, he didn’t feel dizzy any more. Family kept coming to see him and tell him that they love him and pray that he will heal quickly. I stayed with him every night after the surgery to keep an eye on how he was doing. He didn’t remember a lot of things, which in some ways it is good but in some ways it is bad. I think a lot of it had to do with the pain medicine that the doctors was giving him. A nurse told me that it could happen with the medicine could make you forgetful depending on what kind of pain medicine.

October 4th 2011
While Trevan was at the hospital he did fall. He hit his head agents the closet that was in his room. The nurses found him on the floor. They did say that when he fell he landed on his right side and that they don’t think he hurt him self, but he did hit his head when he went down. I asked them if they were going to see if he did any damage, and they said that he didn’t and couldn’t do that much damage because the way he fell. I asked them if he hurt any thing else and the nurse they checked him over and asked him questions and didn’t see any evidence that he had any more damage to what he already had. I asked to if they did any test to see. They said they didn’t do any other tests on him because they didn’t want him to be exposed to any more radiation from the x-ray machine. He was getting out of bed by his self with out any help, which he was not supposed to do that. That is why when he fell they put a bed alarm on his bed so they would know at all times that he gets up, for his safety.

During that time while he was a Littleton hospital they were trying to find a rehab place for him so he can start getting back on his feet. They did find one and they had him transferred from Littleton to Porter hospital. Before he left I told him that I would see him later that evening and so will his mom and kids. He said ok and they he was gone. That evening Beverly and the rest of us call daddy from his mom’s phone to let him know that we are coming to see him but we were going to stop and get something to eat on the way up to the hospital. Then while we were eating at Wendy’s he calls me on my cell phone and asks if we were still coming I told him yes. I asked him did you even remember that we called you before and told you that we were coming he said no he didn’t remember. While he was on the phone with me still we asked him if he wanted us to bring something for him. He said yes. We brought him a hamburger and a frosty. When we got to the Porter hospital and got to his room we noticed it was very small and odd shaped. He had a window but in the wrong place or the room was just in the worst place. It looked like a bad shaped L and had no flow to it. I asked Trevan on how he was doing and he said tired and in pain. I said you just been through a lot and it will take a while to heal. Then we gave him is food and let him eat while we also talked to the nurses that were taking care of him there. We also ask that if there was a way for a cot to be put in there so I could stay with him some of the times. They said yes that they will get one in the room the next time I come up to see him. I said thanks. They also had a bed alarm on his bed and his wheel chair that he was using. I am happy that they had that on there but the moment that he got up to use the urinal that the alarm went off. And he didn’t feel comfortable with them always coming in and him not able to potty when he wanted too. When he is in the bed but keep it on when he is in the wheel chair because he could not remember to lock his brakes before he transferred form the wheel >chair to bed or just getting up to stand.

October 6th 2011
Trevan calls him mom to get my number to be able to call me. He talked to her for a while and he also asked if we were coming to see him, and also asked if we knew where he was. His mom said yes she knew and asked him if he remembered that we were the other night. He said no and also said that we weren’t there to see him. Which we were there but he just didn’t remember that we were all there his son and daughter me and his mom. He forgot the entire evening and event that we even were there to see him the night before. His mom said to him that we were all coming to see you again tonight so we will see you later. The same day I went to take our van to get the oil changed in it and found out that there was a clucking sound and they told me that it was not safe for me to keep driving it. They said about a week or two would be all I should drive it. I called my dad and asked if he knew any one that I could take my van to get an idea on how much it would cast to get it fixed. This was all the same day that I was going to see Trevan at the hospital. They didn’t want me to drive it anymore until it was fixed. So Beverly had to take me back and forth to and from the hospital for a while. After Beverly got off work we all got in to the car and drove up to the hospital. We asked the nurses if there was any way for Trevan to watch movies other than watching TV all the time. They said yes and told us there is a TV, VCR that is on a cart that can go into their room to watch movies and only VHS tapes only no DVD’S. So mom went into the lunchroom and looked at all the movies and wrote down all the ones that Trevan would be interested in watching. After she was done she brought the list to Trevan to see and to know that he had choices. Then we went home and told Trevan that we will see him later the next day. Then said our good-byes.

October 7th 2011
There was a lot of thing going on this day that I don’t want to go through again. I had to take my van to a place that my sister in law told me about. I made my appointment with them the day before and they wanted me to bring it back today and get it fixed. They even said that it was not safe at all. I left it with them to fix it in the morning. Then I came back home and had more things to do. I had to run around back and forth using my mother in laws car which was ok she was taking care of my daughter and my niece so I got thing done and I was able to relax a little bit. We all went to see Trevan that evening. We had to go and pick up my van after we picked up dinner. Then we left to see Trevan. When we got there into Trevan’s room he looked really tired and in a bit of pain. We got an extra hamburger so we gave it to him so he could eat it. Of course he at it all up. I changed the channel and found shreck the movie and we all watched that with Trevan. The nurse cam in to see how he was doing. He said that he needed more pain medicine, also needed to have his depends changed. The kids and grandma left outside the room while he was getting changed. After he got settled again the kids came back in and they were getting rowdy so I ask Beverly to take the kids home. They gave their daddy a kiss and left. That night I stayed with him and he kept on asking if the nurse had given him his pain medicine. I told him yes that they did give you your medicine. I asked him if even remembered it and he said no. He asked me 4 other times to while I was there. When it was time for him to have another dose of medicine I said to use the call button that is what it is there for instead of me always running in and out of his room to let the nurses know that he needed more medicine. I stayed with him all night it was very hard for me to hear. When Trevan would fall to sleep he would start dreaming and breathing heavy then wake up crying and then fell back to sleep. It would go on about 5 times at night. I think it was nightmares and when he wakes up he would not remember any of it.

October 8th 2011
The nurses were coming into see how Trevan was doing. He had his breakfast and pain medicine. After breakfast the therapist came in to take him to do some therapy stuff. He worked on the ramp with wheel chair going up and down with keeping control with his feet. The first round was 35 minutes. Then comes back and rests for a half-hour and goes again for 30 minutes. Then he came back and rested and had lunch. Then he went with another therapist and goes and has a shower, but after a while he came back. The nurses told me when they came back with Trevan that the cut on the inside of the right leg came open while they were helping him with his shower. He lost a little bit of blood but it hurt him quite a bit. So two nurses came back. One was pushing him and the other on putting pressure on the wound. When he was back in the room he looked like a ghost, and looked very tired. Then his nurse came in to put a different kind of bandage on his leg. By the end of the day he had color back in his face and was doing better. That day and evening he didn’t know that I was staying with him. I was with him at the hospital since Friday night, to Sunday evening. I will be going home on Sunday night.

October 9th 2011
The nurses and doctors decided not to have therapy because Trevan gave them a scare. So they just let him rest and let the wound heal some more before he did any more. I watched him sleep and he has the bad dreams again all day, and all night. I woke up every time he had the dreams. I counted how many times he would wake up and go to sleep again. It was hard to hear too. When he did wake up I would ask if he remembered any of it. He would say No. I did let the nurses know what was going on with Trevan and also asked him to keep an eye out and check on him. I also asked them to keep a record of it too. I left the evening so I could take care of my kids the next day. My mother in law had to work and had to keep Sarah with me. I said my good-byes. I asked the nurses to keep me in formed on how he did through the night.

October 10th 2011
Trevan told me that he had therapy and that he was in some pain. He was up in the wheel chair and bed. He was learning how to put socks and underwear, shorts and shirt on by him self with out help and doing it all by with one hand. He did OK is what he said. It is hard for him to remember which arm to do in first. The nurses said try to remember left first than over the head than right arm. Then put your glasses on so you can see. He said he would try to remember. Then I went home. He also saw the doctor and asked for Ibuprofen.

October 11th 2011
I got to the hospital to see Trevan about 7ish. He looked tire but also happy to see me. He said to me when I can in “I was wondering when you were going to be here” I said I had to take care of the kids first. In the morning he did therapy then he has lunch and after he had lunch he did some more activities he had u ride outside and played scrabble to get his mind working on thinking. That is what he did during the day when I was not there to see him during the day Trevan had therapy and looked somewhat tired when I got there, he was also in his wheel chair. He ate all the tacos that his mom got for him. After we got done eating he was in a lot of pain. He asked for more pain medicine and he could not get any more ibuprofen. So they gave him percocet for the pain. All we did while I was there with him we talked and watched TV together. Was late when I left to go home and care for my kids.

October 12th 2011
I went to see Trevan about 7ish again. He did a lot of thing in the morning it was all written down so I knew what he did. Which he was to do every day for his memory issues that he has. He had breakfast then he had PT. He did exercises with his legs. ST. tested him it scored 20 out of 25 on the cognitive tests. Then he did some transferring using one leg, 2-½ lbs. on the other leg (right leg all weight and partial weight on the left.) After lunch he did the walker, wheel chair, shower, teeth and hair. All of this info that I keep getting is what he writes down for his memory reminder. I took a look at him and asked him how he is doing, He said he is in a bit of pain. A lot of pain was mainly in the arm. He asked for some pain medicine and he started to fall to sleep. So I told him that I would head home and take care of the kids. He said to tell them that he loves them. I said ok.

October 13th 2011
Just reading his report that he wrote. He did getting in to his wheel chair to go to the toilet, Independence Square and weight. That was his activities during the day and he also had another stitch pop and his leg started bleeding again. That is what he told me. It is covered with gaze. I was happy that they did put that on there to protect it better. He has been sleeping better. They aren’t using the walker with the plate form because of his bad left arm. He is balancing so much better on his right leg which I am very proud of him. I noticed while I was there he didn’t remember that he had his pain medicine which they did give it to him. But they could not give him any more until 9:15 PM. And it was about 8:20 PM when he asked for more pain medicine.

October 14th 2011
Trevan woke up around 5:45 am having pain in his arm and needed to be changed. Found out that Dr. Bess has not released him from putting more weight on his left leg. It will be 30% weight for a while. At a little bit after 9 this morning went for a wheel chair walk. He sat in the wheel chair and used his right foot to move him forward and his right hand also help him to move forward in the direction that he needs to go. He went around the hallway twice. Then after he did that he came back to his room, so after that another person came in and took him down to the shower. Both of us were in the shower room with the nurse getting him ready and helping him stand only on one leg. He could not put much weight on the left leg. After every thing was off the therapist helped him sit on the shower/ tub chair. We both helped him get cleaned up, but we made sure he did most of the cleaning up. He did well at listening to me and stayed seated until we needed him to stand to pull up his pants. He only used his right leg to stand on and his right arm to pull up. I told him if he comes home he is going to have to listen and wait until I can come and help him. I didn’t want him to fall again and end up in the hospital again. After the shower we went back to his room to rest for a few minutes. Then he went to do more moving therapy. He did hopping on the right leg and using the parallel bars with the right arm to and from the wheel chair. Then he did some bumping up and down on the stairs. They would not do any more of them for a while because it tired him out so much. We did not know when he would be able to come home yet. We were going to have someone come by to take a look at the house and see if he can come home. Right now it is set for wed. But it is not set in stone. I am planning to stay the night again and leave about 8:15 am to watch my daughter. Then I will be back to stay with him again that evening.

October 15th 2011
This is what Trevan did for the day, leg/ hip exercises, control wheelchair up and down ramp. ST- did memory strategies, put a picture with info, and writing down notes. OT- watched him do his brushing his teeth, getting dressed, independence square (cashier, shop, and sandwich) memory. That is what he did and also found out he has a urine infection. He slept a little bit, was up having to go to the potty all night, had to remind him mot to put any weight on his left leg. He said that he was not but I doubt it. I was watching him. After he was done he was always putting weight on the left leg every time he pushed his butt back in the bed. I am very worried about that. I did tell the nurses to keep an eye on him that he was having issues with him having to pee all the time. Since he had the infection. They said that they would keep watch and see how he does through the night.

October 16th 2011
Trevan had a bad day at remembering this day. I just don’t remember what he forgot because I was also very tired this day also.

October 17th 2011
We brought Trevan home to do the home inspection so we could find out what we all needed to do and what to get for the house, so Trevan can come home. We didn’t want him to get injured any more than what he is now. When we got to the house the two nurses had to lift him and the wheel chair up the stairs since we didn’t have the ramp up quite yet. We did tell them it would be up once we know what day we could get help. While Trevan was still sitting in the wheel chair he had to use the restroom. He did try to get in the restroom which he did do just fine, but when he was ready to get back out and into the wheel chair he almost fell in to the wheel. So they deiced not to have him use the small bathroom.

Nana saves two young grandchildren from foster care.

Proud Grandma asking for temporary help with getting caught up on unexpected bills. I was presented with the situation of my bipolar daughter and son in law who was using drugs losing custody of their children. This seems common but I never expected it to happen to me. I used to work in the corporate world and had settled to a quiet life now working for a non-profit (more rewarding work) working with special needs adults. I picked the children up from another state in November and then was faced with cutting back on my hours so I can be home with the kids. This has really put me in the hole. I would never have allowed my grandchildren to go into foster care and will do whatever it takes. This area is very poor where I now live and is a simple life which is a wonderful environment for the children. I have been sick a lot since picking them up which has added to more loss of work/pay and then I hit a deer the other night on my way home from work and this has now messed my vehicle up. Just need some help right now. Don't like asking....but! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Help Save my home while I am in Treatment for Bipolar

Posted by ernewt on 2011-12-24 02:58:04

I am a fighter. My story is a long one with many trials and tribulations; perhaps not much different or worse than others, I am not sure. My name is Elizabeth Newton and I live in Loveland, Colorado; the Sweetheart City and Gateway to the Rockies. I was raised by both parents in a middle class environment. I am the oldest of four, in which, three are brothers. I was a creative child who staged puppet shows and created clubs in our neighborhood. I am not sure if you remember the fuzzy sticky feet, but I made my own with left over pieces of carpet and sold them to my friends.
Moving on, I really struggled in school and got into a lot trouble. I was reckless, promiscuous, used drugs and alcohol and was dangerous. To keep it short, I dropped out in my junior year. When I reflect on those years, I remember some of what I did but mostly I forgot. I guess I felt as though I was being pulled by the strings of a puppet master whose name I now know is Bipolar.
When I turned 18 I shared an apartment with a friend. We both worked for the same nursing home and later for the Bureau of Reclamation. In was at the former job, I received my GED. I was still behaving recklessly resulting in a lot of missed work. But I was having fun being independent, partying all night but slowly losing control of my life.
I became pregnant by my boyfriend and we married several months later. My daughter is a grown woman. I then had another child four years later. Money was also a struggle. My husband wanted me to work but it did not make sense financially. I paid more for daycare then I was paid. When I found a position over the weekends, my husband refused to watch the children. That being said, I was still reckless – the mood would not go away – still a slave of the puppet master. Eventually the relationship became abusive and my husband left leaving $200 on the kitchen table. I did not have a car so I borrowed my father’s truck. I drove my father’s truck with my two small children in back to a safe house. However, it was not so safe. My husband who insulated homes, worked on the safe house. He found the truck and wrote things, I cannot mention here, on the outside of the truck. He coerced my grandmother to call me; and she did! Having to deal with these distractions kept me from focusing on me.
Good news! I was able to move into low income housing. It was a struggle to get my possessions; I took what I could. My father out of the blue wanted his truck back. My mother headed him off at the pass. I think I remember that my life settled down a bit. I enrolled in college. I loved college. In spite of this, I quit school to work from my mother at her computer store. Did I mention my parents were divorced? I am not sure it matters at this point. About six months later, the puppet master caught me and off I was again.
I had a boyfriend – I was 32 years old – and pregnant again…..This relationship was worse that the first. It included drinking, drugs, sexual and physical abuse – oh my, sigh. In the course of it all, I secured a position for one of the largest companies in Loveland. I was thrilled. I had actually come a long way. I divorced my second husband and found my own apartment.
Wow – raising three children on my own was not easy. We got by – I was able to provide what we needed. I forgot to mention I shared custody of my third child and had to pay child support. I never complained; I met my responsibility. I was performing very well at work and procured a position of a trainer. WeeHee – my new position allowed me to travel the globe. Can you imagine, me, the girl from Loveland, Colorado? During this time, I encountered a lot of problems with my ex-husband. Once, he called me at work and said he had a brain tumor. It was a joke; I did not find it funny.
I was promoted again returned to school and bought a house!!! I cannot think of the words to describe these accomplishments. I transformed from the woman driving my father’s truck to a home owner; kind of like the Home Sweet Home book. I was still partying, drinking, but not like before. The puppet master must have been on holiday. I met the man of my dreams and we married in 1998 (I think). We are still together.
The puppet master had those strings a rolling. I could and did accomplish anything. I could see what others could not. I finished school with ease and received my BA in Organization Development in 2005. What year did my story start? We bought a new home in a nice neighborhood. It is a modest home but fits us very well. I was still partying but it was not disrupting my work and home responsibilities.
CRASH! He let go – how could he let go? A woman pulled in front of us and totaled our car. I realize this does not sound traumatic, does it? I really do not know anymore. What I do know is this rocked my world. More than any other event did – and there were many. I could not recover. My performance fell down the well. I could not sleep. I drank a lot. I would even get up at night to drink because I could not sleep. The unthinkable happened. My strings let me down. I swallowed a bottle of pills. I was so afraid. I spent three days in the psychiatric hospital and two months in intensive outpatient therapy. During this time I was on short term disability. I am a fighter; I have never let my circumstances stop me. I returned to work for about two months. Nevertheless, the strings dropped again, were they ever pulled, I am not sure; I spent eight days in hospital. I was out of work again. This time when I returned to work there was no position waiting for me. I was laid off the summer of 2009. I lost it all in one short year.
Remember I am a fighter. I returned to school in July 2009 to obtain a masters degree and I graduated in early 2011. The problem? I obtained a degree and I could not use without further education. I still do not say this out loud. During this time, I landed a part time job as an instructor for students seeking their AAS Human Resources degree. I make a third of the salary I previously did. I have performed this job since April 2010. It is hard. I forget – my memory is not that good. What you have reading are the highlights of my life.
Adult children and BABIES!! Not one baby; two and a one year old. My daughter was in a bad situation in Arizona. She was pregnant with twins, had a one year old daughter, had no car and was being evicted. The dad? Let’s say there is a lot to be desired. She packed as much as she could and moved in with us. Would anyone turn a loved one away in this situation? I could not. I was still drinking. As I write this, I now realize drinking was the one constant in my life. Sad. Her pregnancy had it challenges, but I think this is common. The first snowstorm of the year, December 30th, if you can believe that for Colorado, the babies had enough; my daughter was in labor. We called 911 since the roads were bad. Several hours later we welcomed two healthy baby girls! They will be one year old soon.
New Chapter. How many do we get? My daughter and 18 year old son live with us in our modest home. We clash, how we could not. I have been telling my doctor that I am depressed, damn strings. I can’t sleep and my body hurts so badly; especially when I lay down. Oh, I forgot to mention, no drinking! I quit over a year ago. Regrettably the depression and pain are driving my every moment. I think the puppet master is on vacation. There is no hope. I have been out of work too long. We are waiting for the repo man to get our car. We are barely holding on to the house. How can everything crash so fast and so hard? I am a fighter remember. My mind is full of hopelessness. I have a note that says “Please just let me go”. I am a fighter remember. I call the crisis line. They tell me to call 911. I don’t. I go to bed. Maybe it will be better tomorrow. Not a chance. The same message is repeating over and over in my head; “please let me go”. I tell my family I am driving to the hospital. I do not want anyone to come with me. I go alone.

Please help me move to Florida and make my deadline!

Posted by cmpeterson87 on 2011-12-14 01:58:06

My name is Christopher and I live in Northern Michigan The economy is struggling, and thus far I’ve been pulled down with it.

Money is very tight, and prospects of employment are even more scarce. As we move into the winter months, it has yet to snow here, which is damaging an economy that depends on winter tourism. If there’s no snow, there are no tourists. If there are no tourists, there are no jobs.

In the wake of all this, I just turned 24 and have been given the opportunity to leave this area and try to better my situation. A couple of weeks ago, I was notified that I had received the role of “Pharoah” in the Manatee Players production of Elton John and Tim Rice’s “Aida” in Bradenton, Florida. I am so excited to have the chance to move to Florida and begin again. Unfortunately, it has been difficult to put any money away to be able to move. Without any regular work, I have barely been able to pay my bills, let alone save any money.

I have been doing everything I can think of to raise funds including trying (with little success) to pick up odd jobs and even selling personal possessions. So far, this has not gone as I had hoped, and I have not been able to save much of anything.

Rehearsals begin just after New Years Day. Ideally, I would like to be in Florida and settled by the first of the year.

I need help. I don’t like asking for it. But I need it.

I love to sing and I want to act more than anything. Where I live, the chances to do that are just so small. If there is anyone out there who is an enthusiast and patron of the arts and loves them, as I always have…. PLEASE help me get to Bradenton and get settled. I’m a jack of all trades and master of none, and should be able to find work relatively soon. That is, if I don’t find a job in the area before I leave Michigan.

Any donations received will be directed solely toward transportation to Florida, securing a place to live, rent and food while I’m in the process of relocating. The link below is connected to my paypal account for donations. For my security and yours, I’d like to do this via paypal only.

I’m hoping to leave Traverse City the day after Christmas, but right now, I don’t think it’s possible. This is the holiday season, and with your help, I want to make this one I’ll never forget.

Thank you for your help from the bottom of my heart.

Need money to pay off loans

Posted by devesh on 2011-12-02 05:58:16

Dear
I am an economic migrant in UK and settled in UK. I have got some loans which I need to pay off. I was doing very well with paying off however recent money squeeze and rising cost of living has ended up me being short of money every month and going to work appears to be a aimless thing.
I need £50,000 to pay off my loan or any amount you feel is affordable to donate. I understand that my story appears to be like many others struggling to live but because I spent lot of money in settling down in a new country and came to the country with no financial help. I do have other responsibility of my parents who are not very well and have to help them financially sometimes and also meet the medical expenses.
I would like to ask for this help and in return I can pay you some money if you wish.

Disabled mom of 3 being evicted

Posted by tribunalentry on 2011-11-08 17:58:50

I don't know where else to turn. Until this past May I had my own business and my own car. Now I'm disabled with rheumatoid arthritis, my hands are disfiguring and I've lost both my car and my driver's license.
If I can't come up with $1500 in the next 4 days, I'm going to be evicted. I'm only 48 years old and my body is that of a 68 year old woman now. I don't have money or a car, and my disability claim won't be settled for maybe 5 months or so.
Please, please someone help. I will pay you back every cent as soon as my disability payments start. I can't live in the street with my children. Please Please, I'm begging that someone helps us. I believe in GOd and I know that someone out there can hear me.

Thank you.

Help put a roof over my head.

Hello,
I would want to thank you for stopping by to read this. All I need is an ear that listens and a heart that understands.I know that any of these could easily be dismissed as a scam, but even if you think it is a scam the truth is that I need your help.

I am a very shy person, like many I hate to beg. This is why I choose this means to ask for your help.As I am writing this it is not yet settled where to put down my head this night.I know you would want to ask why I allowed it to get so bad.But you need to know that I have been out of job for a while.

Well good news I just got another job to be paid 15,000 Naira a month that is 93.82 dollars a month. Before YOU figure out how I SURVIVE with that,Just know we are use to such in Africa, especially when there are few jobs available.

But the problem is that I stand the chance of even loosing the job because I have no place to lay my head and my employer is not obliged to provide any accommodation for me.
I am prayerfully doing this hoping that God would touch your heart.I want to believe that there is still one good hearted fellow out there who will come to my rescue. It will take me at least seven months to save the kind of money I need to rent an apartment. It is quite a very long time for me,this is assuming I SAVE ALL MY SALARY which is not practically workable.
So I pray for your help I need at least 1000 dollars to rent a house close to my place of work, this will help me cut out transportation cost. You are probably not the only person going to read this so I don't expect you to pay all.But whatever you can afford to help put a roof over my head is welcome.

I am 30 yrs old young man from Nigeria.Real names withheld for confidentiality. But if you want to know more you can contact me on my yahoo account.tempozone@yahoo.com.I have a little challenge in here Paypal don't work in Nigeria. But there other means to get your donation.Western union is very helpful. Thanks for your understanding.

help me and my mentally ill child buy a car

A year ago I was made redundant, leaving me with debts and my son of 13 to cope alone. I was unable to get a full time job due to my commitment to my son and helping him with school,as he is autistic and has adhd, I get very little help for him and have always coped alone. But in order to pay some of my debts and keep food on the table, I had to sell my car 6 months ago. my son is now settled in a new placement but we still have large debts and I am unable to travel with him as his placement is on a farm, this means we have to pay for taxi's as no buses go there, the education dept are making it difficult for us to afford this and it would work our cheaper for me to buy a car and take him, I know this would be less stressful for him and we are not asking for a expensive car, a small second hand one would be so helpful and so appreciated by us both.

Need help paying legal fees to fend off IRS and state tax collectors.

Since I was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago, I just haven't been able to keep all the balls in the air. One of the things that, unfortunately, fell by the wayside was that I didn't file my state and federal tax returns in a timely manner.

The government has garnished my income to the extent that I cannot even pay my bills, much less pay the legal feels to get the help I need. I was able to get started with a legal team and have learned that I don't owe any actual taxes, now that all the returns have been filed. However, the legal team is working to get $35,000 in penalties settled.

In order to pay the balance of the legal services, I need $700 a month for the next six months. If I cannot keep up the payments, they will not be able to continue to help me, and I will not be able to get the garnishments stopped.

Because of my health, it just isn't possible for me to take on any extra employment at this time. In fact, it would be better for me health-wise to work less, but I just can't do that right now.

Any help you can offer would be much appreciated.

Please Help Us Out Of An Abusive Situation

My children and I are in a very abusive environment. The other person in the household forcibly controls my small paycheck, so saving money to leave is not possible without drawing suspicions and repercussions. Getting a second job is not possible considering our tightly controlled situation. I ask for your assistance because it will allow for my children and I to leave without suffering any consequences (one day we'll be here and the next day we'll be long gone). Your mercy and generosity will allow us to make a fresh start and give us a new lease on life. Once we are moved, safe and settled, I will pay it forward accordingly.
Thank you in advance and God bless!

Family in crisis due to serious medical issues

Posted by Sarags on 2011-07-20 06:58:25

My husband and I have been married for ten years. We have two little girls, aged 5 and 2. In the past three years I have been diagnosed with two potentially life-threatening illnesses. I have literally spent hundreds of days in the hospital away from my family. I have undergone 5 major surgeries and at least ten minor ones, and do not know what the future brings. I am college educated and until becoming ill had a full-time, well-paying career. I am now unable to work, and am fighting the long drawn-out disability fight. My husband is still employed, but misses a great deal of work to care for me and our children. Our finances have taken a terrible hit, and we are currently living one step above homeless. Our families have done what they could to help us keep our heads above water, and as a result we have been able to keep our one modest vehicle which is nearly paid off. We do not have any other debts (other than medical bills). No credit cards, etc. I even lost my wedding ring as it came down to either feeding my children or wearing gold and diamonds on my hand. Our friends have taken us in on a temporary basis, but they too are very financially hurting, and so our family of four has moved in on top of their family of four into a two bedroom, one bathroom trailer home that is quite literally falling apart. We are not here to beg for a million dollars. We are asking for the kindness of strangers to reach out to us to help us get enough money together to find a place of our own. We need a few months' rent and a security deposit, so that we can get our family into a stable environment. My oldest daughter starts kindergarten this fall and I do not even know where we will be living. My husband has a stable, decent paying job but it just isn't enough to get us moved and settled. Please consider doing whatever you are able to do to help us keep our family together while I fight these debilitating illnesses. We adore our babies and want so much to provide them with all that they deserve. I pray someday that my illnesses will finally find treatment(s) that will allow me to return to work. Until then we must rely on the kindness of strangers to help us get onto our feet. Thank you so kindly for taking the time to read our story, and for considering offering to help us.
first want to thank you for taking your time reading this. I am not going to fully paste a long sob story, but this is a story of a broken father trying to get his son home where he knows he is going to be loved, safe and to be raised happy.

My oldest son Keegan who was born to me on Christmas has been out of my home for over 3 years. My son is 10 years old and right now is living at a Residential Treatment Center; this facility was provided to him by the State of Texas Department of Family Services. The Department of Family Services was sought by my ex-wife over 3 years ago for help assistance while I was working to support my family living. This is not going to be a story where I am going to bash my ex-wife, at that point of life she was not a good mother, she could not handle the responsibilities and our son Keegan was on medications or medical conditions given to us ADHD, Hyper-Aggressive Disorder, and possible Bi-Polar.

Keegan was not acceptance to large change. We had to move from a city and a house where my son felt settled, back to our home city of Amarillo. This condition did not set well with my son, but as long as Daddy was with him he felt safe. Then Daddy had to be gone from Monday through Friday (except Friday Night) for work, and then when I was home I would spend time with my kids. Keegan was settled with this, but on the second week gone his medications ran out and the MHMR would not see him for three weeks, his past Pedi-physiologist would not refill medications unless they saw him which started him on a process where his mother felt she could not attend to his needs. Situations always arose and my ex-wife sought help from the Pavilion while I was away. After one month of this my ex-wife who was listening to “her” friends kept telling her to seek help with Family Services. Then an incident happened at home, my ex-wife and her friends left the house to look at business property (for what reason I still do not know), but left a thirteen year old who was not mental capable himself to watch Keegan, his sister Shaylah, and her friends youngest son. The situation happened when my son Keegan and Shaylah got into an egg fight with the thirteen year old and his youngest brother. The youngest brother got upset because he was losing and picked up a stick and STABBED Keegan in the back and punctured him. Keegan got upset and picked up his Fatboy skateboard and knocked him across the forehead knocking him out in one hit. This information was provided to me by my ex-wife and her friends. That is when my ex-wife called the Sherriff f department on Keegan because of the situation; she allowed her friends threaten to beat him to death and scared him so bad he defecated himself. He did not feel safe and the only person who would make him feel safe was over 3 hours away.

Since Keegan was under the age of 10 years old they could not take him, so again my ex-wife called Family services and with the discussion of everything and the fact he had been in the pavilion prior the accepted to take him for help and placed him in a temporary children’s facility.

I did not even to get to see my son before they took him, I had to go to the Randall County Courthouse where I was explained by the legal team and Family Services if I did not accept this treatment for my son I would be held liable for the charges and I could charged for his actions. I knew my son needed help, but not this help. I was assured he would get proper treatment and care for, and he should be home soon. A year later I was told the state now has permeate custody of my son, but I still have a stature of rights as a parent and I am not banned to see my son.

There is more to that story, but again I am not dragging other events, but after three years he is in a facility that tends to switch out employees weekly, they are not participating in family counseling, at this point of my letter I have not talked to my son in over 2 months, and have not received any of his letters he writes. Visitation has been promised to me once every other month to bring him home for a day visit, but that has not happened 9 months. The State of Texas has made a statement they are not responsible to bring my son home for visitation because they do not have the money for this, and it is my responsibility to make the visitation visits 3 hours from me. I was promised weekly phone calls, but again that is not happening, and when I call the facility nobody seems to be there to assist with the issue. Texas Department of Family Services is over stocked on cases and I tend to get a voicemail over a real phone conversation, and when I email I may get a response. I was explained I am supposed to have family counseling sessions with Keegan because the facility is breaking that bond with my son and his family and for the past 3 months that has not happened. I have been told by the State because of my financial conditions even if he was ready to come home they would not let him.

This is my plea for help, my son needs help, I need help and I need to do something about my situation. I am a hard worker, I take care of my two other kids and do not receive any support from my children mother. I make enough to stay afloat, I have a best friend (as close as a brother) help me trade my old Chevy Pickup for an automobile that will get me around in the city but do not go hard on it. Overall I am just an average hard working low class worker trying to get back what is his.

Injuried at work, trying to finish school...

Hello, I am a 49 year old married, father of 5 beautiful children, ages 5-11 years old. Back in 2009 I had a great job as a route sales representative and everything was going along smoothly in our lives. Until one day while at work I bent down and tore my left medial meniscus in my knee. I suffered for 8 months before my surgery, till workers compensation settled everything.
I returned to work after 12 weeks and was able to perform my duties for around 13 weeks till my knee finally had enough. The doctor put some permanent restrictions on me of which my company could not accommodate.
I needed a profession that would supply for my family, plus one in which I was able to execute without any problems from my knee. So I looked towards the medical field. In September 2010, I embarked in a course of Diagnostic Sonography. I am getting ready to go into the meat of the program this fall, but now my workers compensation case has took a turn for the worse. It looks like the benefits will soon be subsiding and with the program I am in it will take about 60 hours or more per week . I am at my wits end trying to figure out what I can do to supply for my family and still accomplish schooling that will help us in the future. I have about 2 years of school left.
Some may say, “Why does not your wife go get a job”? My reply is always what are we to do with the children? The only family we have in the area is my mother who is 80 and in bad health. To pay a sitter would be quite expensive. So we are at a lost for what to do.
We student loans, but that isn’t enough to pay the bills. Also we don’t have any bills other than living expenses like rent and utilities; we don’t have credit cards or auto loans.
Any gift would be greatly appreciated, and the only thing I can give in return is a thank you and a prayer.
Thanks for all your concern,
James presley

Need help so I can finish schooling.

MAKE MY FAMILY WHOLE AGAIN!!!!!

I have been in the need for money for a long time now. I have looked and looked for ways to get help, various odds and end jobs, the works, but now I have to resort to the pity and kindness of others to hopefully gain some of the ground that I have had swept out from under me. I am a father with a toddler and a fiancé, and all the medical bills that followed her because she suffers from Crohn’s Disease. (The Story of my wreck…) My fiancé and I lived in North Carolina for two years, life was decent and there was nothing wrong but we just couldn’t get enough money saved up to get married like we wanted. We were OK with that until God blessed us with our first child, we knew life would take more scarifies, and I began looking for better work. Then my prayers were answered with a fantastic job out west, but we had to come to terms with the fact that I would not be able to take my family with me…
I would have to take the job out west, go there, save enough money to move them after I found a house and gotten settled in… Well, all was well for the first month, I just about had enough to finally bring my family with me and live comfortably for the amount of time it would take for my fiancé to find work herself. Then the worst trial I have ever faced hit me… My wonderful management level job outsourced to India, leaving me with a meager severance (enough to cover my bills and help my Fiancé) So now I’m stuck in Washington paying for two rents, a car (I take the public transportations), and all the overflow finances my fiancé cannot cover on her smaller salary. I began to wonder how it could not get any worse, and I was shown how much worse it really could get. My Fiancé was stricken with a terrible Crohn’s flare that put her out of work and in the hospital for two months… They had to give up the house, move in with my parents, and all the while, I am 3000 miles away picking up lousy manual and clerical work to make ends meet as best I can.
I’ve run over my finances over and over again. Now I’m not homeless, nor are my fiancé and son, but I cannot get them here without some extra help. After looking over all I owe and all that I would need to make life livable for them is just around $10,000. Roughly $2000 to ship the rest of our belongings out here to the home I’m currently renting, more or less $4000 to keep the medical bills from going to collections, $1245 to cover the cost of breaking our lease(The house my fiancé was living in) $1200 to make the car payment current(Insurance included), and $1500 to give us some safety room for her recovery until she is able to work again. I am not looking for large amounts of money from people; I just would like to get the sympathy of as many people as I can so that I can see them again… With your help to get me to my goal I can finally pick up the pieces and make my family whole again…
