Credit card and student Loan debt pileing up
Posted by Thatgraphicsgiy on 2012-05-17 22:58:21
As a practitioner of Buddhist meditation, I have a strong belief in the power of karma and losing kindness. I am not asking for a complete bail out but I have faith that there is someone out there that has te means and desire to help out. A large portion of my credit card debt was built up after offering up my car to help those in need, including my ex. If these bills were at the very least lessened, I would have the financials and to continue to help those in needs which is something hat I draw much happiness from.
If you Have the means and te desire to help me get back in my feet i promise you that I will return that generosity to others based in your example. Thank you

Our equipment is detecting magnetic anomalies from that place and we are ready and prepared to go there and explore. We have 2 boats, a submarine(which we lend from Russia with full crew) and a small plane for emergency situations . We are asking for donations because we really have insufficient funds for food. Once we solve that problem, we are setting up a site with live stream of exploration. Insufficient funds are our only problem right now. A soon as we solve that, we are ready to go. Thank you for your time and donations !

I need an Employment Discrimination Lawyer
Posted by gloriericardo on 2012-03-06 14:58:57
Last year I worked for a corporation where I experienced a series of gender discrimination, harassment because of my gender, intentionally subjected to a hostile work environment, improperly disiciplibed, ridiculed, humiliated within the presence of my colleagues, then terminated.
I filed with the SDHR/ EEOC, it appears that I will need to proceed to Federal Court. This is my last chance to seek justice. I am afraid of my case being dismissed off of a small legal tech.
I have spoken to many lawyers who are willing to take my case, but want 10,000 to start. I do not have that kind of money. I am only receiving unemployment at the moment.
I have called free legal sites, firms, and program, but I need an employment lawyer.
If you all can help me raise the money or if you are an employment lawyer or have a friend who practices employment law please help.
I've been wronged, my right's have been violated to the point where I feel so hopeless. However, I have not and won't give up. Please, who ever you are, where ever you, if you can help me, may my heart be forever grateful to you. Bless You Hearts
Just a little help please

All these are worthy of donations and if I were able to I would donate to them myself, however I am not and have instead found myself, after a very long series of misfortunate events (mainly starting with stupidly marrying an alcoholic, thank heavens for divorce), having to sign up to a web site basically begging for kind strangers to donate, even the smallest of change, to be able to turn my life back around.
I won't bore you with the details of my long struggles as im sure we have all been there at some point (long and drawn out 'woe-is-me' emails written on request) however, what i will say is that after throwing myself into the world of work at 16 I gained as much life experience and qualifications as I possibly could and worked my little toosh off all the way.
I come from a family of workers and it is in my blood, however, after educating myself as a Photographer and Lithographer throught the RAF (leaving to get married and have a child) I then went on to realise that living with an alcoholic was not so good 4 either my baby or I, so took the brave steps to leave.
Setting myself and my child up on our own, I then went and re trained putting myself through an apprentiship as a mechanic and loved it! However I found it very difficult to spend quality time with my child during the holidays so managed to get a job in a school, which was perfect, then when an abusive relationship led 2 my son and I becoming homeless I had to do what was best for my child (and most definately not best for me)I let him go to live with his reformed dad 200 miles away :(
I then went back to what I love, mechanics, as I tried to get my life back on track however work has dried up and just after xmas I was laid off so here I sit as a single 30 yr old with qualifications galore, unemployed!
Ok depressing prologue over and i will cut straight to it.
I am now trying to make a future that will make my life and my contact with my son (every third weekend and all holidays) easier, I am trying to re train as a mechanics teacher, however the hurdle I have come accross (I really should apply to the olympics with all this hurdle trainging I've had) is that the course is going to cost £6,000 and I will only get help towards half, now this is a little bit of an issue as I dont know anyone that could manage to find £3000 in change down the side of their sofa, so I am apllying to the masses, I am just asking for a whole lot of people to donate just a little bit so I could get sorted please.
I may not be the most in need and I may not have a heart wrenching story but I am honest and I am a nice person who is sick of those that dont have any morals always coming out on top, just for once I'd like the good person to win (more specifically me really lol) so if you could spare anything I would truly be so very grateful :) Thank you if you made it this far :) xx

I am married and have three children. We live from one salary and have no possibility to change this. Due to a series of unhappy events for the last 29 months we have now problems with our mortgage. First it was an extreme gas/electricity bill for over 2000 euro, then a very serious sickness in the family, then the car reparation of 1000 euro, then my grandmother died leaving a not insured loan. But it was just the beginning. The health problems in the family persisted and I was the one to pay for an unisured family member. Two surgeries abroad, plane tickets. In a situation like this, when someone is sick you jst dont think about your bills, just pay for the hospital, medicines, doctors. This is what I did and what made me suffer a lot now. I have no savings, no car as it completely broke in October and we cannot afford to buy a new engine. The backlog in the mortgage pazments is really terrible and I dont see any solution to this. I cant even afford to pay for the school cantine for my children as the mortgage takes almost everything. I would be very grateful for each single euro, dollar or pound.

Posted by dfrustrated1 on 2011-12-18 19:58:57
I work my tail off as a domestic, I have no credit cards that I use irresponsibly, or at all for that matter. I care for an emotionally unstable, elderly parent whose home has reached a point of delapidation through her own unsound management of personal finances. The roof leaks whenever it rains, the foundation is cracked and only lastnight, the electrical stopped functioning in a portion of the house.
My ex husband ruined my credit, so no hope of securing a loan and there is no one within my family that posesses the means to assist with the situation.
I have medical bills due to a surgery that was intregal to my being able to maintain a source of income. I am only able to pay my ever increasing monthly premiums for insurance. Barely.
If my employer ever was apprised, to the full extent of my situation, she would be convinced that I would most assuredly be stealing from her, whenever she misplaced something within her 6,000ft. home and I would be terminated despite my devoted service to her family.
I think people don't tend to realize in circumstances such as mine, it makes me all the more dependant on securing an excellent reference to ensure that my options are not severly crippled from that point forward.
However, she isn't a bad person, she just hasn't ever had to struggle like this, so she just doesn't understand how the other half lives.
For years, I have desperately wanted to return to school and something has always been an obstacle: time, money, even a deficit of confidence in my own ability.
I can no longer endure the duress of only just treading water indefinately.
I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop and if it does, my mother and I both will be homeless.
Any assistance that in your kindness, you may provide, will not go unappreciated.
Thank you for reading this.

We are both on a very low income, myself on Social Security Disabilaty, she on School Employees Retirement Disabilaty benefits. We have a vehicle that is almost twenty years old and on its last legs.. I am certain you get many letters like this everyday but we really would like some kind of assistance. We would love to be able to move to Vermont where we can be near our children and Grandchildren as they grow and flourish into strong Americans ans be near our Parents as they live out thier golden years. I know we are asking a lot but if there is anything you can do to truly show your compassion , we will speak on every t.v. station, every radio station, make posters, whatever it takes. To show our thanks and support. We're begging you.
The state of Ohio in its infinite wisdom is considering stopping paying my Medicare part b and take away my medicaid because we, "make too much gross income" by the time we pay all our bills we have maybe 50.00 left to last an entire month.
My Wifes Information::::
I was Married to a very wonderful man for 31 years. He developed heart disease and diabetes. He fought valiently but finaly succomed to the medical problems. I became very sad and was almost at the brink of a mental breakdown. I did become involved with the local Greif Counseling service as this helped me to ease my burden a small amount. I began talking to this nice fellow on Pogo.com which is an online gaming site where one may play all sorts of games such as Solitare etc. We hit it off and began internet dating in August of 2008. We arranged to meet in November and upon viewing each other we knew the bond we had felt over the air was a real bond and Leo dropped to his knees and askeed me to Marry him. We married a week later in November of 2008 and have been together ever since. Since than we have both become quite medically burdened ourselves, Leo has a thing called Sudden Cardiac death Syndrome and has had to have had an Automatic Implantable Cardiac Defibrilator instaled recently. We both suffer from back woes and must seek care frequently. Now we do have a 1996 Chevy Blazer that runs when it feels like it, the airconditioner is broken and what with being in the Midwest is very hot to have to drive around with the windows down. A computer part that costs 1500.00 for the A.B.S. system is out and we just can not afford to fix it. We love the vehicle as it was my first ever fully owned vehicle from a bank loan in my life. If We appreciate everything we have and are greatful for both this site and for all the kindness of others. Please vote for us and we shall make certain to pay it forward with our own kindness and see to it that others are blessed as we are. Thank you for reading and for helping out anyway you can.
My Information::::
My Wife and I will be Married for three years on November 28th.We met in late July or early August of 2008. She had just lost her husband of 31 years. I was myself looking for a somewhat different lifestyle than I was in currently. I was living at home at over 40, disabled with a moderate spinal disease and more or less going nowhere. Debbie and I hit it off right away and we were engaged in October and Married in November. We each have been each others rock and best friend and companion. I have since went into the Ministry and have undertaken many courses towards helping others to live as good a life as possible. Debbie is a great personal loss counselor in her own right. I recently became a heart patient and have had to have an Automatic Implantable cardiac defibrilator installed in my upper chest which has a built in pace maker. All this at only the age of 49.Debbie has had to have undergone major back surgery herself and have screws and cages ut into her lower back. This makes us totaly disabled yet we both have a teriffic outlook on life and are always willing to help others. Life is what you make it, not a series of bad events that bring you down. We both appreciate each day given unto us and are so greatful for all our friends, family, and fellow searchers of lifes Grace. If we were chosen to receive a New SUV as we live in snowy Ohio and may move to new England to be closer to some family we would make certain that it was put to good use and everyone would know the generosity of others. I can only hope as this as well as the other stories here on this site may touch you a small amount and you shall favor us with kindness. God Bless Everyone. Thank You All. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful friends and supporters here. We appreciate everything people are doing and sending all the wonderful messages. God Bless You all.

Although I grew up in a lower middle class family (disfunctional, and often abusive), I now live in abject poverty. I've made some mistakes. Who hasn't? Society can be quite unforgiving to those who've done a series of dumb things in the past!
Without going into a very long story here, I'll try to explain our situation. I'm an educated, intellegent, kind, and creative person. I'm not on drugs or alchohol, nor am I in any way a self-saboteur. My basic needs are pretty simple - a half way decent place to live and the knowlegde that I'm making progress in my life.
My most important goal is to help my family. I'd like also, to in some way contribute toward making the world a better place for everyone.
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for one day. Teach a man to fish and he can feed himself for a lifetime." (Unknown Author)
If you'd like to help me help myself and my family, your contribution won't just be a drop into a bottomless bucket! I'm working diligently to reunite my family, clean up my credit, get a real place to live, go back to school, get off of government benefits and get a job, eventually start my own business, and give back to others.
Those aren't unreasonable goals, yet due to a lack of basic resources, reaching any of them has been extremely difficult. We're hanging in there. Currently, we're trying to raise enough money to relocate and get out of homelessness.
Please help us if you can. Thank you; and may God bless you and yours always.

I have a special needs child in my care, and I am struggling to make ends meet, as I lost my job a month and a half ago. We are trying to stay out of a shelter, because he would likely spiral out of control in that environment. I have some promising leads for employment, but the likelihood is that I will run out of resources before any of them come to fruition. We are presently living in a motel, and landlords are understandably hesitant to rent to a tenant with shaky employment.
If you would like to read this book, it could help keep us out of a shelter. Here's the link:

Struggling Grandma of 3 young boys: Victims of multiple back-to-back tragedies
Posted by strugglinggrandmaof3boys on 2011-09-25 13:58:21
My greatest fear is that when (not if) I do become homeless, which isnât that far off, the state will take my grandsons because we have no place to live, split them up and put them in foster homes. That thought scares the hell out of me. I am all those sweet little boys have. And if they lose each other too, after losing everyone and everything else that they known and loved, I fear their lives will be ruined at the tender ages of 5, 7 and 8.
I suffer from PTSD, COPD and fibromyalgia and each day I struggle with mental distress and physical pain. We live near the New Orleans Metro Area in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. We were displaced for a year after Hurricane Katrina, came back, bought a mobile home in Lafitte, Louisiana and tried to rebuild our lives. In 2008, when Hurricanes Gustav and Ike hit us back to back, our home was flooded with more than 4 feet of water; unreachable, except by boat for over 2 weeks.
At that time, my mother, age 75, had been experiencing the beginning stages of Alzheimerâs as well as a series of strokes which affected the memory and impulse control centers of her brain due to a vascular disease which severely decreased the flow of blood to those areas of her brain. During these TIAâs and small strokes/seizures, she behaved erratically and during larger ones she could become paranoid and psychotic. She had to be hospitalized for several of the more severe episodes, as she was becoming a danger to herself and others. The effects of these episodes lingered for days, sometimes weeks. Afterwards, she had no memory of anything that happened during that time period.
After the storms, we moved in with my mother to help her and because we did, FEMA stopped helping us. And since we could not afford to rebuild again without FEMAâs help, we lost our home. The recent BP oil spill was just another deep blow to our already struggling local economy.
Mom required 24/7/365 assistance and supervision, which she could not afford. She was eventually diagnosed with vascular disease of the brain and Alzheimerâs. Due to the region of her brain that was affected her disease went unnoticed for several years, until she had a large enough stroke to prompt her to seek medical attention. This diagnosis explained her erratic behavior of the past several years, I have since been homebound, unable to leave mom untended for any length of time and unable to work outside the home due to my motherâs need for the past 3 years.
My mother passed away this past April at the age of 79. She had suffered from Alzheimer's and vascular dementia, suffering several major and minor strokes and seizures over the past 6+ years. On April 9th she suffered a massive stroke, lingering for 9 days before passing on the 18th. God rest her soul, I miss her. I loved my mom very much and did everything I could to help her.
To add to the difficulties already faced by our loss, my youngest daughter, who had been living in Ohio with what turned out to be a conman/ junkie twice her age that saw a vulnerable young woman with 3 children and took advantage of that fact, had been physically, verbally and emotionally abusive to all of them for the past 1½ years. 2 weeks before Mom passed, she got in major legal trouble in Ohio and sent my 3 young grandsons to me to raise.
Now, things have turned for the worst... On August 17th we discovered that my eldest daughter took my mother to an attorney and had her write a will leaving everything my mother had to her and excluding me! This abominable act was done 1 month after Hurricane Katrina when ALL of us were distraught and displaced from the storm! My mom was not in her right mind at that time, even though a full diagnosis had not yet been made on her true condition.... Also, in Louisiana, the bar for mental competency is set so low that so long as you are not actively drooling and babbling in front of the judge/attorney/witnesses you are considered competent!! It doesnât matter if you wonât remember doing it five minutes later either. My mother, in her right mind, would NEVER have disinherited me.
Now, my greedy, self-serving, ungrateful eldest child decided that she will evict us so she can try to sell my mother's home, in which I and my grandsons, her nephews still live, so she can pay off mom's debt, which she exaggerates, and her student loans. She is fully aware of our circumstances, she just doesnât care. The only transportation I have for my grandsons is the truck my mom gave me before her death, but did not have the money to transfer title on. It is now part of momâs estate and she took that too.
I called the Clerk in division where probate/ succession on my mom were filed... Clerk said that I need an attorney to file contest to the will, herein lies the problem... there is not 1 single legal aid agency in the ENTIRE New Orleans Metro area that can handle a contested will!! There are also no private attorneys that will handle it either, unless there's big money in it for them, which in this case there is not.
Clerk also said she has no idea why I was never notified. Judge signed off regardless. There seems to be no justice for the poor in this country... since we can't afford to pay the exorbitant fees of a private attorney, which seems to be a necessity to get anything done in the courts. I have tried appealing to my daughterâs sense of decency, but she doesnât seem to have one. Her actions are despicable and deplorable. I am ashamed to be her mother. It breaks my heart and sickens me to know that I brought such a hateful, selfish, greedy, heartless person into this world. I did not raise her to be that way.
I've called every single legal aid agency in my area; including the Bar Assoc. Lawyer referral service... no one will help because there just isn't any money in it for them... sad state this country is in when the poor cannot get justice anywhere.
We were told by the eviction court judge on Sept 12th, that we have 24 hours to vacate our home... stating that our situation is a matter for probate court. Thankfully, we found a place, however, we still need about $800.00 more to pay the $420.00 we still owe our new landlord to avoid eviction from this new place by the 5th of October plus $365.00 to the light company which will be past due (cut off)on the 7th and includes a new deposit and transfer fee.
I've also called churches and other charitable organizations for help... there are so many families in need in the New Orleans metro area that any help is minimal. ALL homeless shelters are full up with waiting lists so long they are no longer taking applications for assistance.
I have applied for Section 8 housing, but there is a HUGE waiting list. The HUD Section 8 waiting list in Louisiana is backlogged 5+ years and has more than 20,000 applicants still waiting for vouchers, many of whom are currently homeless. They are not accepting any new applicants.
I have contacted EVERY charitable and public/community service agency that I can think of for help... none has been forthcoming as of yet..... Is there ANYONE out there with a heart who can and will help us? I have nowhere else to turn.
Iâve spent days seeking legal help... bottom line... none available... so since if my defense is denied and I can't fight the eviction then we are out on the streets with nowhere to go.
My nerves are shot; the house hunt is not going well.
I am hurt by my daughterâs actions and so sickened over all of this mess that I can barely think straight. I cry myself to sleep every night and awake with tears in my eyes and a rock in the pit of my stomach. Yet I dry them and try to be strong and act as if everything is normal for my grandsons who need me now more than ever. I still havenât had time to grieve my motherâs death.
We are now faced with trying to find alternate housing that we can afford on the $840.00 a month income that I receive in Kinship Care for my grandsons. Fat chance in this over-priced rental market. Even a 1 bedroom apartment in Crack Alley goes for more than my income in this post-Katrina/Gustav/Ike market.
And it's starting to look like me and my grandsons will be homeless very soon... by the end of the 1st week in October.
Their mother is in prison and their deadbeat, psycho father hasn't been seen in almost 2 years, ever since he beat the hell out of his girlfriend, killed their little dog in front of my boys, stole and trashed her car and ended up in a mental hospital wanting to kill himself... my babies have had enough grief and loss in their lives... they need love, help and compassion.... and a decent place to live... soon!
Weâre trying to stay in this area because my boyfriend of 11 years, and my only help, has an elderly, widowed mother who needs his help too. And we are all she has. She cannot take us in because her trailer is very small and there is no room for 5 more people in it.
Work is also scarce and hard to find in the New Orleans metro area due to the huge influx of big out of state companies with their out of state workers getting all of the bigger jobs and contracts and the even larger influx of foreign laborers so severely underbidding the smaller construction jobs, cutting local workers and sub-contractors, like my boyfriend, right out of the job market. Every day he goes out hunting for work taking any job offered.
I have prayed on this so hard and so often since this mess all began. I have put my burden in Jesus' Hands. For He is the only one that can save us. I can only hope that he sends us Angels to deliver us soon, for without help from someone, somewhere here on earth we are lost. I feel so lost and utterly alone... this truly is my darkest hour.
If there is ANYONE out there who can offer assistance, legal, residential, financial, whatever help you can give... please contact me ASAP. I have exhausted all available resources.
Right now, I can barely afford toilet paper to wipe our butts with.
We are thankful and grateful for the help we have received from 5 of my 267 facebook friends, our local churches and the 2nd Harvest Food Bank, as well as some assistance on our utility bill from our local community action organization. That meager help has helped us survive thus far, but our resources are nearly spent. Please have mercy on us and donate whatever you can to help me save my family. If enough people with a heart and some compassion give up just 1 cup of Latte from Starbucks and donate to help save us, we will be able to make it⦠small donations add up and every little bit helps.
Thank you for listening to my problems and for your consideration of my plight.
May God Bless you tenfold for any help you send us.
Proverbs 3: 3-7
Let not mercy and truth forsakes you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart,
And so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Clerk also said she has no idea why I was never notified⦠Judge signed off regardless. There seems to be no justice for the poor in this country... since we can't afford to pay the exorbitant fees of a private attorney, which seems to be a necessity to get anything done in the courts.
I received a 10 day "Notice to Vacate" posted on the door August 24, 2011. My daughter wants immediate possession of the property she manipulated/unduly influenced my mentally ill mother into willing to her barely 1 month after Hurricane Katrina. I don't know where we will go. I will have enough money on September 3rd to pay either 1 month's rent or the deposit, but can't raise both in time I have left. I also have the added expenses of my regular utility bills and new expenses for the transfer of utility services and/or deposits, and transportation. So I need to raise about $2000.00 within the coming 2 week period.
Even a 1 bedroom apartment in âCrack Alleyâ goes for more than my income in this post-Katrina/Gustav/Ike market.
And it's starting to look like me and my grandsons will be homeless very soon... by the end of the 1st week in September.
I can only hope that he sends us an Angel to deliver us soon, for without help from someone, somewhere here on earth we are lost. I feel so lost and utterly alone... this truly is my darkest hour.
If there is ANYONE out there who can offer assistance, legal, residential, financial, whatever help you can give... please contact me ASAP. I have exhausted all available resources.
I need at least 2 bedrooms in a safe neighborhood... my total income is $840.00 per month... Right now, I can barely afford toilet paper to wipe our butts with.
We are thankful and grateful for the help we have received from our local churches and the 2nd Harvest Food Bank, as well as some assistance on our utility bill from our local community action organization. That meager help has helped us survive thus far, but our resources are nearly spent. Please have mercy on us and donate whatever you can to help me save my family⦠every little bit helps.
In Need of an Angel of Mercy

Although I was able to make it back to my home state several states away and back to "safety" and to my family--to live with an elderly aunt, and have found work here, I have essentially become an unintended financial burden on her. I would really like to be able to find a way to stand on my own two feet again and to somehow find a way to repay my aunt for her kindness and generosity. However, my financial means are completely wiped out after everything that has happened.
What would it take to put me back on track so that I could start again fresh? To catch up on my currently delinquent bills would be a great start. But, to be honest, that would only help temporarily. Whereas, if I was able to gain enough cash to use as leverage toward building a sustainable income, I might be able to gain enough momentum to end my predicament permanently. In order to do this, my financial goal is $15,000. To many, this isn't a great deal of money, but to me it will make the difference of a lifetime.
Please consider helping me in reaching this goal. If you are not able to help me financially, I do understand and your prayers for me would be greatly appreciated too. However, if you can give even $1 to help me, you are a true angel of mercy. God bless you for taking the time to read my petition.

My father was a Vietnam vet who proudly enlisted into the army to serve his country. After willingly serving two tours of duty, he came home and married my mother (his high school sweetheart) and started a family consisting of me and my two older sisters.
When I was four, my father began experiencing difficulties with his legs and feet. After many unsuccessful operations, it was determined that he was losing the bone density in his legs and he was put in a wheelchair.
My father was an amazing man; he never let his being in a wheelchair keep him down. He climbed Pike's Peak twice and Mount Evans once in his wheelchair, one of his climbs was filmed by a local TV show in Colorado called P.M. Magazine. We have the video footage on beta and are trying to find a way to convert it to DVD. I would love to share his story with anyone wanting to watch it. It shows what a courageous man he was. It was a heartbreaking climb over rough terrain and sometimes he had to strap his wheelchair to his ankles and drag it while he scooted up steep inclines on his backside. It never deterred him. He had more strength and determination than any man I have ever met in my life. He also ran marathons in his wheelchair and spoke to other handicapped and disabled individuals to help them realize that although someone may be hindered, it just means that they learn to function differently. "I may be in a wheelchair, but the wheelchair isn't in me," he used to say.
In 1987, when I was 12, the harsh weather conditions of Colorado became unbearable for my father and we moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico.
My father was never granted disability in Colorado or New Mexico and while he fought for 30 years for his pension from the Army, he never received that either (the common story of we can't seem to find your files even though my father repeatedly submitted his paperwork to show his contribution to our country). As a result, my mother found herself working 2 full time jobs just to support us and we still barely made ends meet.
We grew up poor our entire lives, but we understood what it was like to be rich in other ways. Our family was close and we knew that, no matter how rough things could be at times, that we really did have each other. My sisters and I grew very close over the time when we had no electricity and only had each other to listen to because we didn't have the power for television and radio. We are still very close to this day. I will never regret how we grew up, even with the struggles, because it was the foundation of who we are today. We all learned how to be kind and unselfish and value each other. Both my sisters and I all have our own children and work hard to instill the same values in them.
In 2000, my father was diagnosed with lung cancer as a result of being subjected to Agent Orange while in Vietnam. The tumors were visible in both lungs and nothing could be done. He passed away one week after the diagnosis. We had no time to prepare and certainly no time to say goodbye.
My mother now lives in PA in a cute little Amish town. She has since remarried a wonderful man named Jack. He is also a Vietnam veteran.
My sisters and I still live in New Mexico with our families, although my heart is definitely on the east coast with my mother.
A short time after my mother moved to PA, she got a
job as a nurse. She loved helping other people as she had done all her life. Unfortunately, she suffered a fall that left her with permanent neck and spinal injuries. After going through her own numerous surgeries, she was unable to continue the work that she loved so much. The tables have turned from when we were growing up where she was the only source of income and Jack has been the sole provider for the last several years.
Recently, Jack began to feel very ill and it looks like the effects of Agent Orange have done their damage once again. He is suffering from skin cancer and stage 4 prostate cancer and after going through a series of tests, the probability of also having lymphoma is very high. My mother is going through the same horror once again and while my sisters and I are grown, losing a father to Agent Orange for the second time isn't easy on the heart.
A few years ago, my mother lost both parents and her only sibling, a brother, in the span of four months. She has nobody and I can't bear to leave her alone while she suffers physically and emotionally.
Unfortunately, I lost my job a couple months ago due to layoffs and have had extreme difficulty finding another source of income. Las Cruces is a small city with very limited opportunity. While I worked in the same profession for the past 11 years, I have applied for any and every type of job I could find.
We are struggling to find a way to move close to my mother so that I can take care of her and so she won't be alone if she loses Jack. My sisters and I are the only family she has left and I want nothing more than to be there for her.
I am hoping to find a job there very quickly and I would also love to attend schooling and get my degree in forensics. It has been a dream of mine to be able to assist in solving crime related cases. I firmly believe that I can accomplish my career goals and help my mother if I were in a state with far more job opportunities.
We have never been comfortable financially and my 2 teenage boys understand what it is like to do without the things they want in exchange for just the things they need, much like my sisters and I when we were growing up. I have always wanted more for my kids than to see them grow up here in a high poverty state. I believe the job opportunities and schooling for them will be equally beneficial. They both already have career minded goals that will take them farther in a bigger state.
It has been 4 years since I've seen my mother as neither of us can afford the expense of a trip.
All I am requesting is enough assistance to be able to move my family closer to my mother and locate a house to rent while I search for a job. I am only asking for short term support as I know that I am capable of supporting my own family and I am certain that I will be able to find gainful employment in a short time.

Help if you can~Friend in need of Heart Operation in England
Posted by poweoflove on 2011-04-30 20:58:59
is in need is a very good friend of mine from England. So I am asking
for your help to raise some money to go towards a heart operation.
This person is currently in the hospital so time is of the essence.
Over there, their healthcare system is pretty much good for those that
live in the right postcode of the Country. Unfortunately, my friend does
not. Therefore, this operation that he needs to have done, has to be
paid for up front.
While the amount there in England is 75,000 pounds, here in the USA,
that equals $123,000.
As you can see it's no small deal, but I think the important thing is
that people feel good when they something to someone whose life depends
on their generosity. The PayPal address below is a special address set up
for donations for him.
No one should be told they have to die because they live in the wrong
postcode, especially at the age of 47. He's really a great guy and would
give you the shirt off his back. But he is a very private person. His
Brother in England has been keeping me informed and he is the original
person that has started this attempt to raise enough to get the
operation. So while he is asking friends in his country, I am asking
friends in the USA and from other countries that I know.
I know things are tough all over and we have our obligations to meet,
but if any of you can spare anything to help out, it would be deeply
appreciated. This isn't a come-on. This is a true situation and a sad
one. Wouldn't matter if it was $1.00, it would still help raise the
funds needed.
I would ask that the donation be put into my PayPal account under
mystereedonors@gmail.com and I will forward it over to England. I
certainly understand if you are not able to help but appreciate you
taking the time to read this. Thank you in advance.
Diane (termie)
P.S. The following is information that I received from the Brother and
from the patient himself. I felt it necessary to include in this.
*From the Brother
Yes, the medical situation is strange, it was, and should still be an
amazing health care system. Everyone pays into it through their taxes,
and then you get free health care, operation, medicines etc.
Trouble is, they are now realizing that the NHS as we call it, national
health service, is a bottomless pit, the more money the government throw
in, the more they can. It will always use whatever funds it has, and
they don't like it.
So now they are limiting some of the more expensive treatment and
medicines. Hence the postcode lottery. If you live in the wrong
postcode, you don't get the surgery.
The heart problem, is a basically a defect that he had from birth, a lot
of people don't know they have a problem, until one day they drop down
dead, and by then obviously its too late. In fact, usually people
don't even get to his age of 47. (I know he's not really old or
anything, that is just what the experts say!).
The problem is, in his case is that instead of just being a birth
defect, there is also a family history of heart problems and added to
this, the fact that the defect has been very slowly getting worse.
Already having one heart surgery done about 4 years ago, it didn't last.
*From the Patient
To do the full op privately would cost over £75000, including the
follow-up care. Where as I'd be happy with just the injections, and
possibly a new, better, icd being fitted. That would be a lot cheaper,
and while wouldn't be a proper fix, it would remove the risk of sudden
death. I guess all will be revealed eventually as to what they are
planning
*From the Brother. Keep in mind that this is just part of what needs to
be done. The cheaper version.
As for what has to be done, and the exact name of the condition, I am
not sure of the medical terms. The injections you were talking about,
are not stem cells nor are they clinical trials. They are to help
restructure part of the heart, some parts are over grown, and need to be
reduced in size, this can be done through through a series of controlled
injections, that will kill off specific parts of the tissue, thus
reducing its size, enabling the chambers to hold more blood, and for the
heart to be less restricted in its movement.
Another part of the procedure, is a kind of re-wiring of the heart. The
electric pulse, runs around the heart in a particular way, causing it to
beat. But in his case, the pulses are not traveling on the routes they
should be, and this needs to be corrected.
By performing these two sets of procedures, he would not be totally
cured, BUT, he would be stable, not have constant chest pains, and the
risk of sudden death syndrome, would be drastically reduced!
Software project for legacy consoles
Posted by cheerfuldinosaur on 2011-04-25 22:58:55
since 2009 I've developed a big interest in developing stuff for legacy platforms like the Sony PlayStation and the Sega Saturn.
In December 2008, I started developing small applications for the Sega Genesis/Sega Mega Drive. Eventually, I quit for a while and in April/May 2009 I got a Sony PlayStation Development Kit and started reading some documentation and playing with the tools it bundled.
I expected to have something I called 'NAOMI Operating System for Sony PlayStation" complete on Fall 2009, but I lost interest in everything again.
Meanwhile Summer 2009, I started to develop a mini game based on the Clock Tower series by Human Entertainment called 'Barrows Castle', with DarkBASIC Professional. I got to do some of the game play, until I got a new workstation and left all data in the old one and did not bother to transfer the 'Barrows Castle' data into my new workstation.
Later in that year, I got development tools for the Sega Saturn-- a console I always fancied. After my failures with the Sony PlayStation, I actually got to compile some test programs for the Sega Saturn.
In December 2009, I did my first working program. It was a program called "it's Britney!", inspired in the iPhone/iPod touch app, available in the Apple App Store called "it's Britney!". It displayed a Britney Spears background that I created myself using Paint.NET image editing, and it had three Britney Spears audio tracks. The 'A' button would play a track, the 'B' button another track, etc...
(I lost this piece of software though)
Also since December 2009, I've been wanting to develop a project called 'BIOGENESIS'. It's a game still in concept phase... after all this talk, I'll just get to the point.
I want to develop a game for the Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn (not sure yet which) called 'BIOGENESIS'. But in concept phase I found myself in trouble...
I'll need a lot of material. I'd like to host a website about the game, buy some software (graphics editor...) and pay a few people I know to make some audio tracks.
Donate as much as you like. Any little helps. If you want to know about further developments of the game, please contact me at neptunebluebottle@gmail.com
Please make 'BIOGENESIS' possible.
my plea
