Too Close to Turn Back!
Posted by abrazelton on 2012-01-19 21:58:06
I am a full-time student, with only the Spring 2012& Summer 2012 semesters left of school to complete my degree. I am on the Dean's List and am a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society. I have worked relentlessly to be successful, but unfortunately cannot pay for these last semesters. I feel like I am in a race, with the finish line in sight, but I am running in place.
I just found out today that my financial aid was declined. Taking out a private loan is not an option, and I cannot pay tuition on my own. I need $2,500 for tuition and books for this semester and the summer semester. My time is running short, and I refuse to give up or drop out.
I am not sure what I will gain from posting here, but my hopes are that a kind soul will stumble across my post and give me a little push.

I NEED MONEY FOR SCHOOL
Posted by financestudent2011 on 2011-12-01 16:58:24
I am in desperate need for tuition money. I am in the process of graduating in 2 semesters and do not have the money to continue. I just received an excellent internship offer, but I will not be able to do it this summer unless I take the classes I need to take this coming January. And since I am originally from another country, that means I need to go to school this Spring, or I will be out of status, meaning Illegal. Please help me!! Even if you want I could pay you back slowly later when I start working.
Stressed out parents:lost our apartment and going hungry so our son can eat,no $ for last semester to transfer to university, health and life in shambles
Posted by GrecianMommy on 2011-11-28 21:58:42
I had to leave my job due to a pesky pulmonary nodule causing breathing problems and causing me to pass out at work. I started working in a MLM type of company as an independent contractor, but first our car broke down, then we fixed it; but then I lost car insurance and registration due to expiration (no money to pay for it). I have had to borrow and repay money for rent three months in a row and my car is starting to go AGAIN...it is a 1999 Cadillac Deville with 134,000 miles, so I guess I can't complain. In the past 4 weeks, I went from a healthy 137lbs to 119lbs of skin and bones; I refuse to eat unless my son has healthy food to eat, but I am starting to feel tired and confused due to malnutrition. I don't need hundreds of thousands of dollars; I just want to get ahead. I am fortunate that my son, his father and I are able to move with friends next month, but I still have $1290 to pay on December 5th for rent so as not to lose security deposit. I need the money to get caught up on general bills, totaling approximately $3300 as well as groceries for December $400-500. I am also in need of my bipolar medication that I have not been able to aquire in 6 months when my financial situation started to decline due to poor health, car troubles, loss of tuiton money and general misfortune. I can pay out of pocket for school; I lost financial aid because I had to withdrawal for health and family reasons-2 semesters in a row of withdrawals or poor grades cause the financial aid dept to drop you. I am not a bad student and I was even inducted into Phi Theta Kappa in October 2008 for academic excellence. To sum it up; I just want to be on my feet again. I hate that my son sees mommy and daddy cry every night, because we don't know from one day to the next...will the electric get shut off next? How will we get food? Thankfully our rent will be severely reduced starting January 1st, but I just want..NEED to get ahead for once. I have sold everything I own...including my $2500 engagement ring, which I sold for a whole $145 for groceries. I do have three designer bags I haven't sold yet; I was planning to sell for Christmas money for my son, but anyone who donates and is interested, can have them. I will be eternally grateful for anyone to be kind enough to donate! If I could just receive a total of at least $5000 for bills, rent and groceries, I will be the happiest woman alive. I am not too concerned with my medication, because it is $140 per month that CAN wait, if need be. My son's well-being and future means more to me than anything. I am sorry if this is a jumbled mess; I am extremely worn out and I cannot seem to muster the thoughts to put with the emotions I am feeling right now. Thank you for any generosity and I hope that without the premium Beglist account, my story is able to find anyone willing to help a family in need.
Help Stephenson get into Bible college
Posted by brmfam on 2011-08-28 11:58:49
Stephenson just graduated from H.S. and God has been leading him toward his first choice in colleges at the Word of Life Bible Institute up in Schroon Lake, NY. This choice in education (a very good choice, I might add), is well beyond the financial means of the family, even with financial aid and loans that have been approved.
I sent out a prayer a month or so ago for Stephenson, and indeed there have been some positive results with my churchs generous donation of funds to Stephenson for college. But time is of the essence, and we are now at a point where I am asking each and every person invited to chip in $3.00 to help pay for Stephensons dream to attend WOL to come true. School starts for most of this semesters students on September 15th, and money is due by that date. Stephenson cannot start without sufficient funds. He is on a month to month pay schedule which requires $650 per month over and above his already received grants and loans.
The key here, along with prayer, is to send this on to others by e-mail. The numbers invited will grow exponentially, and if everyone spends a little time (and a small amount of money, (if you are led to so do), Stephenson could easily reach his needed goal. Please be assured that any money received over and above his needs for attending WOL will be donated by the family to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Here is the link for this worthy cause.

Help with tuition payments
Posted by SWalton on 2011-08-17 11:58:13
I am a college senior who is two semesters away from graduation. Unfortunately, I am unable to return to school this Fall 2011 semester for the following reasons:
1) I don't enough money to cover my tuition payment and I didn't find out until the end of Summer 2011 semester that I have maxed out on financial aid.
2) I have two daughters in college as well who don't have enough money to cover their college expenses so I am going to used what I have saved to help them.
3) My credit is not the best so I am unable to take out a person loan.
I do understand that you are not obligated to help me but if you could, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for reading this post.

Tuition to keep couple close
Posted by Dylanj on 2011-04-05 05:58:04
My plan is to move to Australia and attend Bond University where I will get a bachelors degree in International Business. Bond runs three semesters a year as opposed to the generic two semesters per year of most other colleges. This will allow me to finish my degree in two years. The cost of tuition will be $86,520 total equaling $14,420 per semester, which is the same as it would be at the University of Queensland, which is a public college as opposed to private. The cost of on campus living ranges from $640-$10,040 a month depending on what would be available. I have a road bike that I am going to use for local transportation and I plan to sell my car which KBB value is $13,000 and buy a motorcycle that I can ride for longer trips so I can save on gas. The remainder of the Car money will obviously go towards tuition. I am currently in school in California and trying to get a job while in school. As soon as this semester ends I am going to try for a job on the offshore oil platforms as they can make $1,500-$2,000 a week from what I have read. I plan to work that until September semester would start in Australia. That would give me between $13,500-$24,000 depending on what they pay and whether they use a one week off two week on or one week on one week off schedule. I plan to work while in school full time there. My family cannot afford to assist me as both of my parents are sales people and this economy has greatly reduced their incomes to barely paying the bills.
I appreciate your taking the time to read my post and wish you well.

Hello,
My name is Christina and I am a 25 year old United States Air Force veteran who is desperately in need of financial assistance for bill pay. I am currently attending college Monday through Friday to become a Radiologist, therefore I can only work part-time to allow myself ample time to study as well. I have maintained a 3.7 GPA for the past two semesters, which has landed me on the school's President's List for Academic Excellence. However, with recent struggles, the stress has taken a huge toll on my mind and is reflecting upon my grades.
I have been trying to regain my composure and get back on my feet for a few months now. With my recent termination from my previous employer on account of turmoil between myself and my ex relationship (a manager), I have not seemed to find suitable employment. I went from making $9.42 and averaging 33-40 hours per week to a disappointing and meager $7.25 with 4-15 hours per week.
I have been blessed enough to be able to attend college tuition-free with my military background, so that alleviates some of the worry. There are still bills to pay and I cannot ever seem to make enough money through minimum wage in order to cover the cost. My mom has been fortunate enough to cover the loan on the car I first owned (which needed to be replaced due to transmission issues and being a gas guzzler), which is a monthly payment of $133. She has also been carrying the cost of my replacement car statement, which is a monthly payment of $252.96 as well as the rate for 6 months worth of car insurance which totals to around $600 for my car alone, on top of the bills SHE has. Recently, she has also taken on assisting my younger brother with his educational needs, on top of paying for my younger sister's education as well. So, she can no longer afford to assist all 3 of us because it is causing her to stress and struggle as well. Though she tries, gives 200%, and she is the hardest working woman out there in my eyes.
Last month, I was able to accumulate enough hours to finally pay the latter of the two. But with reduction in hours with my current company, I have only been scheduled a grand total of 11 hours for the past two weeks. I have unfortunately only been able to pay $126.48 of the now past due (10/02) $252.96 car payment. I feel as if I'm working to put gas in my car just to drive to a workplace 13 miles away from home and not even make close to enough of what I need in order to pay bills. It also doesn't help that my mom informed me she was going to be over budget this month with all the added expenses for my siblings.
Please, please help me. All I need is $126.48 to make this month's car payment while I continue to attend classes and seek new employment on my days off. I have been so desperate as to resort to selling my entertainment items on Craigslist, selling my clothing to thrift shops for gas money, and skipping a class or two to donate plasma for $20. I am mentally exhausted...my next pay day is on 10/8 but that will only have 4 hours on it. I truly believe in the generosity and kindness of strangers. There are good people out there who are willing to help out those in need and ease their worries.
Thank you SO much for reading. You have no idea how much this means to me.
Sincerely,
-Christina G.

Help with graduate school
Posted by iomedicine on 2010-09-13 15:58:58
I do not know what else to do, or who else to turn to. As a last resort, I am trying this website in an effort that may help me graduate this semester and matriculate in to medical school.
I am a graduate student at a medical school who is pursuing a masters degree. I completed (well almost completed) my studies in 1 year instead of 2 years, mostly due to very hard-work and dedication to finish. My goal is to get in to medical school and become a physician.
This summer, as a graduate student, I took a 7 credit, 6-week long, advanced course in human anatomy they offer to medical school students. Not many students are offered this opportunity to take medical school classes as a graduate student, but I was, so I embraced this opportunity.
This summer class costs $6000. I am not able to pay for it because I maxed out all of my financial aid (all loans) to pay for tuition during the fall and spring semesters.
I have been put in to debt collection, and unless I get this paid, I cannot graduate from my program and receive my masters degree. Worse, I can't matriculate in to the medical school.
If anyone is out there who is willing to help an ambitious, dedicated student go further with her studies and make a difference in the lives of others by becoming a physician, please, PLEASE, send me your help.
I will forever be in debt of your kindness. I only hope for the ability to pay this kindness forward when I become a doctor.
I sincerely thank anyone who takes the time to read this from the bottom of my heart.
