Desperately Need Money to Avoid Family Feud

Posted by NRbeelin on 2012-05-23 04:58:16

My boyfriend and I both work but our wages have been cut massively in the past 6 months. We just scrape by on what we have.

My boyfriend's family has a large bill to pay ($3000) and have asked us to contribute. This seems fair however we have no money to give them. Our part would be $800 and we just don't have it spare. If we had it, we would give it without a second thought.

However, they won't accept that we just don't have the money - even after showing them our balance of $0 - and say that we are being selfish and that if we don't pay the money, they won't speak to us again and will stop us from seeing our adorable 6 month old nephew (born on Christmas Day).

We're desperate and don't know what else to do.

We really appreciate any help at all.

Thank you for reading and may God bless you.

A little over a year ago we left Montana in search of something better. My husband got a job as a safety officer for the BP oil spill we packed up our kids our dogs and all our stuff and headed for Pensacola FL. It was not at all what we expected every two weeks we got a check to "Tie Us Over" is what they would always say your full pay will come soon we are still getting everything sorted out. Like so many other people the rest of the money never came the job just ended. Now we are in a legal battle for around 10,000 in back pay. We left Pensacola with about 300.00 in our pocket and stopped at the first big city we could find Houston TX. Hoping this would all be resolved soon we waited. My husband took side jobs to pay for our hotel and food but a couple weeks ago our truck broke down 1800.00 worth of repairs there was no way we could afford that so we sold it for scrape and paid for our hotel. My husband is now working day labor 55.00 a day when he gets work our hotel is 40.00 a day and after that there is nothing we can't get into a position to save any money for a car or an apartment we just need some help to get out of the rut. We need to be able to pay a months rent somewhere so we are able to take on full time jobs and be able to wait the 2 weeks for a check. We don't drink or do drugs we are just an average family in a really messed up spot. I could not afford to pay the premium price to be able to post pictures. But we have three daughter 17 13 and 6. Whatever you can do to help would be such a blessing thank you for time and your help.

My illness is destroying my family

Posted by Apollo on 2012-04-15 19:58:51

I don't know if this will work but I really need help. I suffer from a mental disorder known as D.I.D. which has been slowly crushing the life of the woman I love and the lives of my parents who now care for me.

Not so long ago my fiancee and I were living together in our own place planning on getting married and starting a family - that is now a distant dream.

We are now up to our eyeballs in debt and living in my parents spare room together trying to scrape by since my sick pay from work stopped.

I know there is not a hell of a lot of detail here, and I may not sound as dire as some others, but I cannot bring myself to type it all out here.

Please help me, I don't want to hurt them any more.

Hello, I could really use some help.

I've never tried a site like this before, and I'm not one for long winded sob stories, but I'm just at the end of my rope, I'm behind almost $500 on my utility bill and it will be shut off in 3 days. I've sold a lot of what I have around, and I can't seem to scrape enough. Even if you can spare just one dollar, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much for even reading this.

No Time To Waste - Ailing Parents

Posted by AlgoHall on 2012-03-24 23:58:38

I'm going to get straight to the point and be %100 honest so that I don't waste your time.

My name is Micheal. I am a 23-year-old male living in the midwest. I currently have a job at a failing restaurant and am struggling to look for a job in a failing job market.

My old roommate left me to join the Navy and I have been in dire financial straits ever since (I have gone through dozens of potential roommates and NONE of them were responsible enough to pay their rent or they failed to move in). My rent is VERY high (a little over $700). I can only take serving jobs, because they are the only type of job which provides an average amount of money per hour for me to barely scrape by (I have to make at LEAST $15-$20 an hour to have a place to live and there are no non-specialized jobs that will pay that much per hour to someone with no advanced education).

To the point though, this post isn't really for me; it is for my parents. My parents are BOTH on disability and barely make enough COMBINED to pay for the house that they live in. I constantly have to assist them with living expenses among other things (food and medicine usually). Yes they do get quite a bit of government assistance, but with NO other source of income, things are impossible for them without my help (for example, I had to take on the full car payment for an Acura that my father owned that costs me nearly $400 a month NOT including the insurance).

Now, with myself in financial difficulties, they too are faced with the threat of losing much-needed medicine, vehicle transportation, and possibly their home.

I am making this post in hopes that there is someone who can help keep the worst from happening in my life and for my parents. I don't want to fail them as a son, so I have made this post in a last-ditch effort to plead for assistance. Anything that you can contribute would help me with bills for both myself and my parents. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I wish that you be blessed.

Please help keep my family from living on the street .

Posted by bebuh7 on 2012-03-18 13:58:02

I have never asked anyone for anything in my life but now at 48 i am at a loss and need help . I will try to make a long
story shot . My wife my youngest daughter (10) and my youngest son (12) have been living in a family owned apartment
building for 8 years now as the caretakers so rent free before this we lived in another apartment building for 12 years
as caretakers again rent free it is important to note that my wife and i do work as well and we make ok money not great
but we scrape by. The issue(s) are the family member has decided out of the blue with no warning to sell the building out
from under us. This will literlally put us on the street with no where to go see my son has several medical issues and
since we had no rent to pay keeping up with the prescriptions and such was doable some months are tough but we always scrape
by. The fact is we simply cannot afford to move into a rental situation we would be looking at an extra $750 a month minimum
that we simply do not have my job pays well but its all graveyard shift and only 35 hours a week i keep this job so i can be
up with the kids while the wife goes to her job and to run the building do repairs etc its a rough system but it works well
in that we can both work and not have to worry about child care . I have this chance to buy a piece of land about 10 minutes
from the city with a 3 bedroom mobile home on it the property tax is only $1200 a year. I cannot afford to just buy it outright
i would rather not try to finance it as that would give us a monthly bill that we simply can't afford right now i do not expect
to get all the money needed from here but every little bit would help we do have a modest savings account not much but with that
and if some kind souls on here could see there way clear to helping us we may be able to raise enough so i can at least make a
down payment the property owner is very sympathetic to our plight and is willing to work with us if we can come up with a good
down payment he is willing to take lower monthly payments over a longer period of time until it is payed off. My family would
certainly appreciate any help anyone can give us . Thank you for reading .

I need help for my kids

Posted by needhelp123654 on 2012-03-04 08:58:51

I work so hard, I'm a single mother and the money just keeps going. It's not a matter of budgeting it's a matter of the money is not there. I can barely scrape enough for living/food/heat etc. I can NOT afford clothes, toys, diapers and am slowly falling into a hole. I need help, I've got a 2 year old son and 4 year old daughter and I just need help. Thank you
I'll try to keep this short and sweet.
I'm 20 years old, working as an operator at a machine shop just a few miles from my current apartment.
About a month ago, the president of our company announced that they were going to be moving the shop in a few months. He did not, however, mention that this would cause a lot of us to lose hours due to a lack of received work orders for our CURRENT location.
I already had a couple of outstanding loans from before things went south at work. Just a couple of hundred dollars for electricity or rent that I figured I could pay back quickly taking the shops pay rate into account. However, now that I've been going without more than 10 hours of work a week for almost three weeks paying my loans back is becoming more of a game of trying to scrape together my minimum payment amount while also somehow managing rent, bills, and food money. I've gotten to the point where I'm eating about a meal a day and spending as little time in my apartment as possible to cut back on water and electricity expenses.
The real kicker of this whole situation is that my lease will be expiring 3/19/2012, and I need to manage to get a new apartment before then. With the two outstanding loans, moving expenses, leasing deposits and application fees...well, it's starting to look like I might be living under a bridge next month...
Most people my age would turn to there parents for help, but I don't really have any such luck. Both of my parents just kind of jumped ship as soon as I graduated High School. Last I heard from mom she was using meth, and Dad isn't faring much better...
Please, help me avoid homelessness and give what you can so I can manage a standard, stable adult life.

Please help me better my life

If you have a collage degree, house, bank account, good car, and a job: you have more than me. I have none of these things. I have no diploma. I had to get help to pay for a GED just recently, wish me luck on the test. I rent a single wide trailer that had mold problems and made my family sick. We are better now. The landlord ripped the shower and floors out and replaced everything. I fear the mold coming back and making us sick again. I’m 26 and have no bank account, I tried to have one when I was younger but couldn’t keep any money in it because of how little I made in construction. My car doesn’t go into reverse and slips in first gear sometimes. I have no job because I was laid off three months ago when the job ended. I’ve been looking for jobs and filling out applications around my small town but no one will call me back.
Let me tell you more about myself. I was two years old when my father was shot and killed in the big city. I grew up on welfare with my mother and grandmother. When I was seven we lost grandma’s house and began to move around all over. When I was twelve, my grandmother died from being in a moldy house that we were renting. My mother moved to the country with her boyfriend and I followed shortly after. In school I was smart, but moving around everywhere was costly. I lost credit for a lot of hard work simply because the schools were on two different schedules. After living with my mom’s drunken boyfriend and having her cry to me when he hit her, I dropped out of school to get a job in construction. I was able to make enough for us to scrape by and barely pay bills.
I married my high school sweetheart about a year ago. I had hoped that we would make a wonderful life together, but it’s proven to be very difficult. She did graduate and attend college; however, she did not finish her Bachelors degree. She has a little more than half a semester left, but we ran into some tax problems and she has not been able to go back and finish. Now she owes 6,000 in college dept and I owe thousands in back taxes. She has eyesight problems (coloboma) and can’t drive herself. She works with her mom cleaning houses and babysitting. I dream about being rich and successful, and making all our financial problems go away. I don’t see how that’s going to happen with all of our problems. I want to go to college and get a degree, but I need help getting on my feet. Please help me and my family realize our dreams of financial freedom.
America is one of the most charitable nations on earth, with lots of people that have been financially blessed. I read that there are 7.5 million millionaires in America, and I hope someone reading this is one of them. Please change my life forever with a big donation. I dream of being successful and using my money to help others who need it. I want to make a difference for good in this troubled world, but it’s hard to do when you can’t even help yourself. I will use any money I get from online to pay taxes and get into college.

I'm So Worried for My Sister

Posted by yedda_2000 on 2012-01-11 16:58:15

My sister is pregnant. This was not medically supposed to be possible. The last child she had was born 3 months premature, and is a little miracle.
She was told she would not have any more children. Against the odds, she has discovered that is pregnant once again, much to her fear and delight.
Being pregnant is a danger to her health, but it is too late to turn back now. She is ordered to bed-rest, and her health and even her life are at risk. Her husband works full-time, and she has two young children already. They cannot afford full-time care, and so she is unable to follow the doctors orders for bed-rest. Her pregnancy has landed her in the hospital twice already. I'm so worried about her.
I'm on the other side of the continent from her, but I want to move to her location so that I can care for her children and for her. She has no one else.
I can't afford a move, or even a plane ticket right now. All I need is to scrape the cost of travel together so I can go be with her. Any help would be appreciated.

Every month we scramble and scrape to pay rent and utilities. Our small community has no jobs so I am not working. I have two grandbabies that are the joy of my life. Our daily existance is broke and thank God for food stamps. Need extra money for necessities such as toiletries and appreciate every single donation that you can spare. Thank you for what you give and God Bless.

Need Help

Posted by Jza1973 on 2011-10-21 16:58:41

Hi everyone,

My family and I are going through a challenging time. In October 2010 our car was repossessed and I began to walk to & from work 6 miles each day. I didn't much mind because whatever you have to do to make a legitimate living you do hands down. Unfortunately I developed high blood pressure. That coupled by a chronic pain condition caused me to resign from my job. I did not qualify for unemployment because i quit even though I explained I had no transportation and the job required field visits which I couldn't make without a car. My husband had been trying to find work for two years after his job literally closed overnight with no notice. In May of this year we figured things were looking up. We've borrowed from family members, sold our dryer, jewelry, handbags , etc to our local pawnsmart. My husband got a job in May only to be laid off in August because a coworker made a costly mistake that cost the company their contract with delta airlines. He went to apply for unemployment and was told he wouldn't qualify until october when dept labor begins to look at the april/may/june quarter. Then we received a notice that since he didn't have that many wages for that quarter he'll have to wait until november and reapply. We don't have a car or any, so each time we need to go to dol we walk the 8 mile trek there and back. We have no family in GA where we live and friends seem to exist when you are not in dire straits. We spoke to our leasing company and said we would be late with our October rent. we've contacted one social service agency at the beginning of the month. My husband was interviewed and approved by the worker who said her boss had to sign off on the paperwork. when my husband checked back week later, he was told do not come back to the office we'll receive an approval or denial in the mail. now we have nothing. We've had to ask our local library for toilet tissue, scrape change for soap which is used for both body, dishes and clothing. we are both college educated, no criminal history, hard working adults. To ask for help is really difficult. Our rent is 550 a month. Iam really scared that at any moment we are going to be evicted. A donation of any amount would be appreciated. Thank you and may God bless you.

help for medical bills

Posted by needy225 on 2011-10-14 07:58:35

My family has multiple medical bills that we cannot pay down. I lost my job last month and my wife has a low paying job. We cannot pay our medical bills, $18,000, because of our low paying jobs, we can barely afford food. About $7,000 is for our daughter's birth. My wife is native American, and she was promised by the Indian health service that her pre natal care and birth were paid for, but they ended up not paying. We tried to get her on Medicaid, but they said it was too late and we were stuck with the bill we couldn't pay. Last year my gallbladder shut down. I had to have surgery, and with the insurance I had they paid about half, leaving me with $11,000 in hospital bills. I've been trying to find a new job, but have been unsuccessful. Things are hard out there for me, but I try every day. Please someone help us with our burden, $18,000 may not seem like much to some, but to us who scrape by little, it sure is alot.

Donations for our miracle at an unfortunate time

I have been an electronics engineer until two years ago when our company's continued down sizeing left me without a chair. While I actually am working its mostly min wage jobs and mostly under 40 hours. I have one daughter and my wife is now 5 months pregnant. We do manage to scrape some funds together to bring wife to her monthly check ups. However it is the cost of the delivery. Our debt is getting larger while our living expenses seem to grow. We have downsized our lives as best we could.

I realise some peoplemay consider it irresponsible; having another kid with our economic situation. This pregnacy comes a compleate surprise to everyone, wife, me and Dr. During the delivery of our first child my wife had some complications. There had been an emergency C-section perfromed. Emergency Financial Help!

PLEASE EXCUSE MY INTERUPTION!!

My name is Ronald Alano. My wife Kathi and I are in A very bad way.

Please let me explain. My wife's unemployment ran out just as she needed a dead kidney removed. I was terminated from my 10 year professional job due to down sizing at the same time. I was her nurse up the time of her operation. She had to have her bag cleaned and changed daily. Her operation was put on hold till we could scrape up enough money to pay a month of Cobra to cover her surgery. This took 2 months. She has recovered wonderfully.

We have both been unable to obtain employment. We were evicted from our rental because we were unable to make rent for 8 months. We owe taxes, hospital bills, vehicle payments, utility payments. We have one vehicle that is on a title loan without even minimum insurance coverage. We are receiving food stamps. We have spent many hours in the pantry lines. We are currently staying with Kathi's son till we can get employment.

My wages are being garnished due to unpaid medical bills. I cannot even work a McDonald's because I would only make enough to cover gas. I am a hard working and dedicated person. I have spent many days and hours applying and sending resumes to a multitude of job prospects. I have only had 2 interviews that have not panned out. We are trying to get Kathi's drivers license, but can't even afford the 20.00 to pay for that.

It really hurts to have to tell our life's story to try and get any help. We have gone through all the channels for help. We have given to United Way all the time we were employed. They would only help with 250.00 towards rent, but we owe over 7,000.00 in rent. They only offered 150.00 towards utilities and we owe a couple of thousand on them. To chapter 8 housing is a waiting period of over a year and a half. We have no relatives who can help.

We just can't find a way to start digging out. We have recently found salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ. We attend a small Christian church where we attend Sunday services, Wednesday night services, and Tuesday night Bible study. We are just asking someone who is more fortunate than us for any help.

If you read this, God Bless You in His Son's Name Jesus Christ!

Keep me from getting Cancer!

Posted by poorteacher on 2011-09-17 21:58:24

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this. I am a 32 year old teacher who just discovered that I have the BRCA1 mutation. This means that I have roughly an 85% chance of getting early onset breast cancer. I watched my mother succumb to cancer 5 years ago and don't ever want to be in, or put my family in, that position. My option is to get constant screening (so they can find the cancer quickly when it comes) or to have a preventative mastectomy with reconstruction (which reduces my risk to that of a 'normal' woman).

I have good health insurance, however the problem is that the location I can go to do the procedure/surgery isn't covered by my insurance and I can't afford the medical bills. With the education cut backs cutting my salary and a lot of student loans, I can't scrape up the money to get my life-saving surgery.

Any little bit will add up and help...and a lot would be a wonderful, unexpected gift. Thanks in advance for helping to give me a full life.

My Brother's Wedding

Posted by mybrotherswedding on 2011-09-04 00:58:12

My brother is getting married 8,500 miles away this December. My husband, my son and I would love to attend, but we can't save fast enough.

Four years ago, my husband married me even though I was in crushing debt. He's never been in debt -- ever. He took on my liabilities, made them ours. He is helping me dig myself out of that hole. Then he lost his job teaching art in the public school system -- in this economy, these are the jobs that are being cut, and no one's hiring. For someone who's always worked, being un/underemployed just sucks. So we moved in with his mother, just so we had a fighting chance. I do have a job, and he was able to find a part-time job, but we can't support ourselves fully, pay off our debt, and still save fast enough in time for the wedding. We do our best, we have never been extravagant. We were this close to finally climbing out of this hole ... but then, last month, we got hit with this ruthless dental bill.

To make matters worse, my husband and his mother are making each other crazy, and she has given us an ultimatum to get out of her house -- March 2012.

In the meantime, my brother's wedding is fast approaching. We can't afford to attend AND move out if we are still in debt when we get on that plane. Not without your help.

We've tried to do things right -- take personal responsibility, pay off our debt, not take on more, raise our kid ourselves ... but there seems to be some conspiracy against allowing us to get our heads above water. I have never been debt-free in all of my adult life, and I have never begged either.

But it is time. For both.

Help us, pleeeeez!!!

The airfare is about $1,500 apiece. That's $4500 for the three of us. On Coach. It's not much, but it's more than we can scrape together by December. The balance on my credit cards is down from thirty grand to $4,000. Only with God's grace, my husband's big heart and my commitment to my husband and son have I managed to bring it down that much! But we still need to get rid of it before we can move out.

Anything we receive over $8500 will go towards getting out of my MIL's house. My husband needs a break, and she deserves her house back.

Please, whatever you can ...
