Hi, Im a married father of 4 great kids. We live in up state SC. I found this and thought I would give it a try. We live a simple life. We dont have a cable bill, or a car payment. We drive older cars with over 200K miles. (I do most all my own repairs) We only go out to eat on birthdays. We dont go to movies. So you can see we save where ever possible. Having 2 kids in college is a real stretch to our finances. When one of our kids fell asleep and ran off the road it did a lot of damage to our car (theyre ok) but it really put us behind in our finances.

Lost my job due to new boss being racial to blacks and now I am one month behind on rent. My name is Kelli, I am 27 years old and I am a teacher. Because I am a teacher in a very low income area, I spend about 1/4th of my money on my students so that they can have what they need to learn. I had trouble picking a category, because my plea falls into multiple ones. Help pay bills, save our home, family crisis, money for travel... My husband and I live and work in RV parks full time. Our home is a 1964 Airstream travel trailer. In December, in a fit of horrendous lack-of-judgement, I accepted a job in the north-east. We had weathered semi-cold winters before, and I thought that with a little preparation we would be ok. We weren't. It got so cold and the snow got so deep we finally had to leave for a warmer location. Unfortunately our trailer, our home, was so deep in snow we couldn't get it out, we had to leave it behind.

To make matters worse, we drained our accounts with the driving back and forth. We are currently living in a camper van in SC. We have food, and just started a part-time job, so we are mostly ok, but the grim reality is: we are facing over $1000 in fuel alone just to go retrieve our home, plus a nearly $300 electric bill we left behind that we need to pay before we can pick it up, plus whatever cold damage may have been done because everything froze before we could winterize properly. (frozen and cracked water lines, faucets, and maybe even the brand new hot water tank are all possibilities). If we don't pick it up soon, there will also be a $60 a month storage fee tacked on top of everything else. PLUS we borrowed around $1000 from family that needs to be repaid.

We could save up enough, but it would take most of the summer, spent living in the van, and then we would be completely tapped out again come fall/winter. It's been very depressing. Any little bit would really help.

I am 53 years old businessman from tiny island of Sri Lanka. I started my business in 2007 after retiring from a leading solid rubber manufacturing company (Trelleborg Lanka PVT LTD Swedish own company) where I worked as the manager procurement for good 13 years. I am B.Sc graduate and diploma holder of rubber and plastic product manufacturing.

At the beginning my business, natural rubber processing industry was a success. I even renovated whole plant which was more than 50 years old and purchased two trucks to transport raw materials and finished goods to and from my facility. My trouble started in latter part of 2008 due to global economic down turn. Prices of our finished product, processed natural rubber ( Brown crepe ) declined rapidly in a space of few days thereby incurring heavy losses. Somehow I did managed to dragged my business till 31st march 2009 despite heavy losses. I provided 55 direct employment for very poor peasants in rubber growing area in Sri Lanka.

Due to heavy debt and pressure from my creditors I had to close down the factory and sold it out at very low price to settle my workers dues and some debt. I even had to handed over my vehicles to leasing company due to my failure to settle due installments in time

Ultimately I ended up with Rs. 8.5 million loss ( Approximately US$. 85,000) . Now I lost whole my earning for past years. Some of my creditors filed court cases against me. Some are putting pressure on me to settle their dues. They even posing death threats . I have been mentally and physically abused by my creditors everyday since closer of my plant. Police at the complain of my creditors may arrest me for default. Now I am in dilemma. I need police protection for safety of my life from death threats. At the same time police want me to settle my creditors debt as some cheque issued to creditors were dishonored.

I do not have any saving except my provident fund. After toiling hard for last 30 years, I earned around 3.5 million rupees ( approximately US$. 35,000) . At maturity, when I turn 55 it will be Rs. 4 million. I will get around Rs. 1.5 million as inheritance after selling of my parent properties (House where I live now. My share is 1/6 of the total value). Those wealth can be accessible only after another two years.

As I do not have fixed income nowadays, I am unable to overcome my difficulties without help of charity or donation. Legal expenses and my medical expenses aggravate my misery. My life now totally depend on sympathy of my age old friends. One provide shelter and the others provide meals. Now I am like a beggar although do not beg on the roadside.

I wrote several letter to relevant government organizations for compensation or bailout package, but nobody looked at it as government in short of money for that kind of compensations. I wrote to parliamentary ombudsman as well. All were in vein. Local red cross society replied to my request saying that they do not have mandate to give financial help to individual although my case is worthwhile to be considered.

Although I have taken all the insurance covers needed for our industry, like workmen compensation, fire. Flood, storm and tempest , burglary, personal accident, consequence lost cover could not be obtained due to nature of our industry. I put forward claim for US$. 75,000 but was not entertained due to nature of our industry.

I am looking for a help to settle my debt and restart a business. I can offer my EPF and inheritance as security. But those would be matured only after 2 years. House can be sold out only after flood situation due to unplanned development is permanently arrested by local government in our area. Otherwise a buyer can not be found. Im a single mother ...i lost my job of over 2 yrs ..my kids have always lived with me up until this past year my oldest daughter wanted to stay with her daddy for a little while a honer student never been in trouble or give you any trouble child he let her within a few weeks he took her out of school put her in a home for kids going thru divorce death or anger which my child had no issues long story short the state of sc has no laws that stand for children its like our kids are not our kids we have no control ...her father wanted to find a way out of child support him and his wife could afford a lawyer and i couldnt he has temporary custody of my oldest and i have youngest and they dropped his child support the lawyer is best friends with the judge and neighbors he ordersed me to pay 500 for guard ad litum and i couldnt even pay for my own lawyer and no job they have nothing on any grounds of me with anything i dont do anything but be a mother ...so i up and get rid of my entire house to move here to nc with my father to get ahead and to find work ..and this court order i have to travel back to sc every wednesday for 3 hours for his visitation with my youngest girl and every other wkd cant get this dropped without a lawyer and now have been served more papers were he wants my youngest also ..all the trips have took a toll on my 96 car i had it already had a major oil leak that had to be replaced but all this was too much on the car and th emotor locked up ..even if i could afford a new motor the cars not worth it ...Now i cant even begin to find a job have to borrow my step mamas car for the trips to sc cause i will be in contempt of court if im not there this is all a major strain on my family ...and the county we live in the bustop is a mile down the road at main road they do not come down here even close to house ..my parents get her to school and in the afternoons i have to walk a mile to bustop which is ok for me but having to make my child walk that far home with me is terrible she doesnt deserve this and i dont no what to do anymore ..i have never asked anything of anyone im not looking for a handout like most just a handup ...my child worries everyday over this about the car and scared about them trying to take her away and keeps asking am i gonna do something so she dont have to ...i need a car my time is almost up to get a lawyer ..

I hope you are well. I'm Rayhan Mahmud. I've completed my B.Sc honors in Microbiology from Stamford University Bangladesh. Sorry to say, University authority didn't allow me to get the certificate because of the money dues. My current financial status is pathetically poor in amount. If you manage me 2000$ to paid my dues to the University authority it would be a great support for all time. It will support me to do post grad too.
