It's hard to have to do this but here goes. I desperately need money to pay just my basic bills. My husband, who is a Vietnam vet, passed away recently (October 8th, 2011) from Bone and Lung Cancer at home. First of all, he wanted to spend the rest of his life home with me and our pets (three Mini Dachshunds and two kitties). Also, the VA wouldn't be able to control his pain enough so that he could enjoy the remainder of his life so he went under Hospice care. They strive for quality of life and they were amazing.

The problem with that was that when you die at home, the VA covers nothing at all. Had he died in the VA they would've covered his funeral expenses. We didn't have life insurance. He had started a policy, but the bill for the first payment came in on Monday, the 10th. He died Saturday the 8th.

He died here at home and then was placed in the funeral home morgue until we could come up with enough of a down payment for his funeral (I believe it was $2000.00) I still owe something around $5,000. He stayed in that morgue for around three weeks before we could gather up that money. Not a good way to treat a vet at all.

I had left my job to take care of and be with him until he died, this is what he wanted. We didn't have insurance or any kind of state medical help. We lived on his disability check that he received monthly. There are no survivor benefits, VA or Social Security I've been told either. We had only been married a year. We have been together since 2002, but got married Sept. 21, 2010. We had our first anniversary a couple weeks before he died. As far as I know, SS people have told me we must have been married for ten years in order to get any kind of survivor benefits.

We had sold our boat, truck, and spent any money that we had toward our living expenses and to help with down-payment on funeral.

Now, I'm back to work but it is part time, I make $7.50 per hour (sometimes as little as 20 hours every two weeks). Telephone survey taker. I don't qualify for state help other than food stamps.

I've been looking for work since he died and not getting any responses at all. I am on the Michworks website numerous times a day, every day besides checking the local papers, and any other things I can think of.

Right now as I write this, I am due to lose our home (we rented this for the last nine years). My rent was due on the first. I have borrowed money, sold household items, and gotten help from the area charity places that I could. Every month has been a struggle and every month I think "okay, I've gotten the rent paid this month and I SHOULD have a new job by the next time the rent is due", but sadly it is not working that way. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm beginning to lose faith. I absolutely cannot get rid of our pets either. I promised I would never let anything happen to them and I wont. Besides, they are our little ones, our family that we had together. They are also what is keeping me going. I cannot imagine life without them and him too.

I am at the end of my rope now. I didn't want to resort to this and it really is a blow but I don't know what else to do anymore.

I hope that there is someone out there that will read this and be able to help me somehow.

Hi, I am a talented Irish writer who is looking for some financial aid. I lost my job a year ago and have spent that time concentrating on my writing. Having received several positive responses from agents and publishers it has encouraged me to continue and follow this as a career.

6 months ago we responded to an ad on Craigslist. It was for property managers in Fl. We accepted the position sight unseen and in good faith. With my wifes health getting worse and having a hard time working. This seemed like a good thing. We took our savings and left for Florida. Well when we got there it turned out to be a scam. Lesson very well learned! We ended up in south Ga with her sister. I recently started a job that requires travel. our car is up for repossession due to our payments falling behind. I have tried to make payments when I started working and they said it was to late so I am using the car till they come and take it. We have financed 2 other cars with them and always on time. I wonder if the people that work in those places ever fell on hard times. I am not sure if that is the right thing but I honestly did try to catch up. When they take my car I will not be able to travel. This job is not very steady but it is work till I find another. I am looking for work in the Albany Ga area. I am looking for some type of help so that my children don't have to go without a Christmas. I am a divorced mother of three who is not recieving child support anymore from their dead beat father. I worked 60 hours a week until I got sick and have to go in for surery the end of Nov (30th) with a 2-4 week recovery. I have been told I will have a job but that is still to be determinded when I am able to return. I have had to get my parents to pay basic bills in the house but they don't have much either. If anyone could help it would be a great blessing for my children. I do have a truck that is on it's last leg and expired inspection since sept because I can't afford to pay for that either. I have weighed all my options and done all that I can do, including: taking out a payday advance loan (which I now can not pay), rolling loose change ($6.32), earning small amounts of money online doing surveys (please contact me if you need help doing this), browsing craigslist for any job opportunity (no legitimate responses), and happened to stumble upon this site.

I am a single college student, living alone and paying all of my own bills. I have been supporting myself (and sometimes others) since I was 18. Although I don't have money to give, I always allow any friends or family members to stay with me when times get tough and do not ask for anything in return. I have found ways to save, spend, and earn using coupons, working extra hours, and stretching every last penny I have for bills, food, or gas. I have simply reached the breaking point. I have found myself months behind on my utilities, an empty pantry, and barely enough money to get back and forth to work and school. My tuition bill is increasing and I can only defer the payment for so long before I am unenrolled from the school and gain an even bigger debt. I don't have parents to rely on when I am in a bind, and I am falling further and further behind.

In addition to running out of money, food, and hope... I have not been able to purchase any new pants, belt, or shoes for work and without these items I will not be able to continue. My current items are falling apart. I typically buy these things for $5-$6 a piece at my local goodwill, but even that has become a hardship. As far as buying clothes for myself for everyday wear, that has been out of the question for close to 2 years. I can't enjoy my life because I am so stressed and I am working to not even completely pay my bills.

Urgent help requested for basic living expenses. I am caught in a living situation that is abusive, meantime it is difficult for me to obtain work (I am actively seeking, but for one year now with no responses)I I have depleted my resources with no where else to go, and no one else to ask. I need help trying to get a fresh start. I realize I sould be grateful for what I have but I have lived in the same tiny house for the past 27 years. Through it I have lost my mom who raised me while living here, my biological mother, my mother-in-law, my da and my grandfather. I went through two divorces and a handful of boyfriends. One divorce was the end result of a nasty 7 year marriage to someone who would not help me with anything including our daughter.
