Some moths ago, I came home from a normal day at work, happy to see my two little boys (Josh 3 and Liam 4 months) and what I used to consider my better half. I walked in to find the house empty - no note, no indication of what had happened. I toyed around with calling the police, but it was clear this wasn't a missing persons case, or a robbery or anything else other than what it was. Everything was gone. Phone disconnected, bank accounts cleared out, credit cards closed. Suddenly it was me, the house and the car and nothing else. After a few days of searching, talking to family, friends and yes even filing a police report - not they cared much - I discovered I had been dumped for a guy my wife had been seeing for months. We has only just signed the lease less than a month before, and I thought we were really happy together. There were no signs - nothing that I saw at least. This really isn't the part that hurts, I can live with all this; it's her life and her decision. What really hurts is not seeing my boys.

During the first few days I didn't work, too busy trying to piece together what had gone on and why and how it had come to this right under my nose. The rent still needed to be paid, even though the house was unfurnished and too big for me alone. I was (and still am) locked into the lease! Problem number one.

Problem number two is rather more complex. Last Friday I received two letters. The first from a solicitor (our version of what you would call a lawyer) informing me of divorce proceedings and the second was sent a letter from the Child Support Agency informing me my wife is seeking child support payments from me. Now, I'm no deadbeat dad! I think all parents should pay for their children's needs but here I am - rent on a house I don't need, no furniture (some friends have lent me a TV and cooking utensils and a couch), no money to contest the proceedings and on top of that she wants me to pay child support while she's shacked up and living a 'normal' life with my boys, whom I haven't seen since.

I've seen a solicitor who advised me he wouldn't bill me for the first meeting - we talked about the situation, and what he could do from here... It requires more than I have, to achieve what I want and what I think is fair! All I want to do is split our assets 60/40 her favour (she has the kids). Get out of this lease that I'm legally locked into, and get shared custody of my beautiful little boys. Problem is she has the assets and without a court order to either return a portion to me or divest herself of some of the assets so I can be compensated, I can't pay a solicitor and barrister to get the money to do all this. Once it's all settled I'll happily pay my child support requirements, see my boys and leave her out of my life, seeing that's what she wants.

My solicitor has told me I could be up for as much as $10,000, but $6000 should be a good starting point. His firm wont proceed without knowing they'll be paid - fair enough, but what's a man to do in this situation?

I am literally begging for $6000. I haven't wanted for anything in my life - I've always worked and worked hard for what I had, but when it's all taken away from you, you realise how vulnerable we all are. I'm pledging that whatever I receive from this site that's not used in the case, I will pay forward, to another needy soul from this site. Please help... My heart and thanks, and that of my boys will go out to you.

Update: 6th Jan 2012. I've managed to get the proceedings heard at a later date, due to my personal situation. But nothing has changed. I still don't have the funds to fight this and to date not one response to my plea for help. I'm begging - literally for some assistance. I haven't seen my boys since December and I can't fight this without your help.

I have nothing to fight her with. No funds, no will and no motivation. The house has been re-leased and the owner has started legal proceedings against me, I have nothing but what she left me. I am trying my hardest to provide some money for my two kids - that I haven't seen since December. I can't go on like this. No-one can!

i have experienced a major loss of income and an increased living expense and have fallen behind on my bills so bad that i can not even dream of a future. i know what i need to do, i am determined to do it but i am unable to afford the cuurrent bills and find it difficult to even dream of fulfilling my plans for a secure future for myself and my children. my plan is to catch up on the current bills, get out of the car loan that i currently have and purchase a vehicle that has less expensive payments, repair my credit,my taxes and enroll in courses for real estate and/or bookkeeping. i have 2 children who have suffered and lost out on so much due to the finances, the job requirements and insecurity. i really need help to follow through and i promise to pay it forward when i am able. i will appreciate any help i can get and will keep all donors posted on the progress if they are interested. i have worked hard my whole life and have never caught a lucky break. unfortunately i have chosen a career that requires skills that i either do not have or that i am getting too old for. i have been in this business since i left home at 17 and have worked in every facet of the business but the job i am best at is for younger people and i am quickly approaching the age where i will no longer be able to comprete or will find employment less likely. i am looking for a better life. an easier life and the opportunities that i deserve but i am unable to obtain in my current situation, job and finances. please help me. i need approximatly $15-20000 but anything will help , be very appreciated and well invested. thank you

Hello BegsList. My name is Chris. I'm 19 years of age, and I live in Philadelphia. At the age of 18, I escaped an abusive household to enter the adult world. I am afflicted with autism and severe ADHD. I don't let those setbacks get to me though- I'm enterprising and constantly looking for employment. I finally had a good place- I found a well-paying position at Walgreens, and they transferred me into the Philadelphia market. Not three months after arriving, I was unexpectedly laid off. Due to some funky requirements in the rules, I was not able to draw unemployment. I have been diligently hunting for jobs ever since that fateful day, but unfortunately my efforts have proven fruitless. I have volunteered most of my time to a small non-profit when I'm not job searching. We're a small interfaith group that hits the streets with a message of love and peace for all, along with participating in several community service projects and education programs. We are currently experiencing a whole host of financial hardships as a whole. My beg is two pronged: On one hand, I am three months behind on my rent and on the verge of eviction. On the other hand, I am devoted to making my community better and making people a little happier through the non-profit. This is a last resort for me, as I've exhausted all other channels. I have worked all my life and never asked for any help. I raised three children and never got food stamps, medicaid, etc. I am now physically unable to continue to work due to health issues. I know I am near the point of being terminated as I have to take medications that cause me to "nod" off or keep me in a fog. If I don't take the meds then the pain is unbearable. I owe $38,000 on a little house I bought. I was homeless for 2 1/2 years due to a layoff and I lost everything including my home. I don't have family or friends to help me. I am 60 years old and started working when I was 10. Lazy is not a part of my makeup. I don't know how long it will take to get SSD approval and I am scared to be homeless again. I don't have any savings or other resources to fall back on. I live on only the necessary requirements (no phone, no cable, no expensive foods, etc). I am missing too much work but the lawyer says I have to be totally off work before applying for SSD. I don't know how I can pay bills, not lose the home, etc if I am not working at all. I just need some help not to lose the house (it is not much but it is a home). The house will get me through as long as I will need it. I am just terrified of being homeless again. I have COPD, excessive narrowing of the spine, degenerative disk that are rapidly becoming worse (more than normal for my age), lose my balance, can't stand up straight, can't sit for long period of time, can't stand more than three minutes, neurological disorder that is causing me to "lose time" (can't find the answer to that one), need to stop driving as I don't know what happens during the losing time periods, episodes of slurred speach, numbness in my arms, hands, legs and feet. This is humiliating as I have always paid my own way and now I am facing this at my age. I need help and have nobody to turn to. I don't know if I wrote this correctly, begging is not an easy task. If there are people out there that really do help others in need then please read this with the understanding of what it is like to be alone in the world, facing being homeless again at my age. I need help with the house, utilities and just survival needs until I can get the SSD going. Thank you for your time.

The college I want to go to is pretty much my dream college! It’s so
awesome! It has the best Vet program in my state if not the only
program in my state. It’s most likely the only college that offers
actual vet Med and not just the per-requirements in my state. Their vet
program is what first got me interested in my sophomore year of college.
I got to looking at it and it became the school I most wanted to go to.
It just seems like a really good fit for me. I would really really love
to go here! It has everything I would need. i cannot for the life of me
find another college I would rather go to, but even if I did I would
still need to do this to raise money for my college fund because as you
all know tuition prices are rising every year and it’s getting more and
more expensive to go. I’m 22 now and would really like to get started on
my college career. I’ve been to community college with the help of a
pell grant, but that just isn’t going to cut it. I really have to go to a
university to further my career. I don’t want to be waiting around too terribly long to be
graduating college or even really getting started good. It would mean
the world to me to get to go to college sometime in the near future. My
mental health also rides on going. I’m depressed because I’m not going
and I see what others in my high school graduating class have
accomplished and well it depresses me too because I’m no where near
getting close to getting a job in my field of study. Where as they have
finished school and working in their field or is in the internship
phase. Either way I’m ready to get started on truly accomplishing my
dreams and getting a career. I do not want to end up like my parents and
grandparents and have no college degree even though I want one. I want
to do something they didn’t and what they told me to do if I could and

Well anyway the cost of the college is $25,000 a year, but this doesn’t
include professional costs which will be closer to $40,000 for Vet Med.
Though I’m only looking to get $25,000 for right now. I’ll just want to at least get to go for one year.

Tuition and fees for year are $8,698, Books and Supplies
would be around $1,100, Room and Board will be around $9,992, Other that
they charge will be around $5,166. I should get a pell grant, but I’m
not sure I may not but that will most likely only pay $2,000 if I’m lucky $3,000. I’ve applied to scholarships, but I don’t stand out so I’ll be lucky to even get one if that. With my luck I won’t get one. So I’ll still need a good bit.


So as you can see it will be very
expensive. I will greatly appreciate anything you donate to help me
afford to go to college. I know I most likely won’t get the amount I’m
going for, but I hope to
get most and try to keep from having to take out huge loans.

Marine Veteran and disabled needs help. My life could be a bestselling country song. I was an executive working very hard but suffered a divesting heart attack. Two, in fact. Tried to keep working but had no strength left. I was forced to retire. Also found out I had diabetes and didn’t even know it. To make matters worse I have foot neurophy and clogged arteries in both of my legs. Want to make it worse? I have two large kidney stones blocking my urine so I am forced to wear a bag on my hip until the stones can be removed. The VA will take them out but not until my blood sugar meets their stringent requirements.
To make a long story short I lost my job due to the heart attack, lost my beautiful home because I had no job (sold all my home contents first to try and raise money to keep it – failed), lost my great F150 truck, and even lost my dog. The only apartment we could get didn’t accept pets.
Thank God I am a Marine and learned to adapt and overcome. It has been three years but now I really need to ask for help. My wife and I have no insurance except what the VA offers (can't afford Medicare part B) and I already owe them $755 for co-pay on many medications. I have had to wait for a kidney stone operation for over a year now as they are booked solid for this type of operation. This operation, outside of the VA, cost approximately $1800. In addition I have numerous medical bills from my heart attack after care, diabetes and having numerous operations to remove two toes on my left foot. I'm struggling to find a job in London for 7 months and I tried everything from applying for a care work to cash in hand such as cleaning jobs but it was unsuccessful because I failed because I didn't met the employers requirements.

Before, I applied in one health care agency and they promised that they can offer shifts anywhere in London. I really did my best to meet their requirements like undergo a lot of trainings, health and CRB checks and of course all of those things needs a payment. After I met those requirements and already registered in this agency, I asked them if they can already give me a shift and then they told me that they don't have any vacancies for care workers in London at the moment. NHS and Nursing homes cut their employees because of crisis. I know that this is happening but they must do something about for their staff's work placement. I trusted them because they are affiliated different agencies so they can cater all the applicants everywhere but it all went wrong.

After hearing the agency's explanation,it was like oh my God! I should have spend my money in applying in other care homes or home care agencies that requires no or less application fees and I felt almost crying and I felt that I don't have anywhere to go because I can't afford to pay for my expenses like rent, food, phone credits and expenses to support my studies. All of my savings just went in job searching and I cannot ask for public funds and support in UK because I'm not a UK citizen and I'm only a student.

I'm really eager to finish what I have started in UK and I don't want to return to my home country yet and bring shame to my family. I was hoping that the qualification and experiences that I have gain in the UK will give a lot of opportunities when I return to my country. I don't want to leave it undone.

I have already a lot of debts and I ask for financial help to some of friends and I'm really embarrassed when I'm asking for money from them. I know that they prioritize their families and themselves first and they are not always there to help me.

$15,000 could change my families life. We need to move from my home as it needs way to much work to be done on it,it is a money pit. It is a mobile home and just not worth fixing. I have a good steady job w/decent pay,but not good enough credit to get financed for a house. There are several very cheap homes in my area that I could buy for $15000 or less,I know they won't be perfect but I'm not afraid of some DIY repairs.

I'm trying to build my credit,as I have always relied on nobody but myself. I have talked with lenders who have told me that the lending requirements right now are rigid and even with a high credit score most lenders will not finance anything under $40000.

I am a 40+ year old lady who lost my job like so many others during this economic crises. I have not been able to obtain employment and have been trying for 3 years to do so. Almost very contact after my submission of a resume, I know was due to a lack of a college degree. I decided to try to finish my last few classes, even by studying and taking tests where no attendance to school is required, you do all self teaching, by studying the text books they recommend...I needed 2 classes for graduation and had to attend the school in order to participate. After some time, I applied for the Stimulus grant in order to take the courses, applied for financial aid, and even supplied more forms in order to get th full amount in order to cover the tuition in order to graduate. During the semester, it was determined thart the amount allowed was based on the number of credits. I experienced an accident where I broke my ribs, clavicle, lacerated my spleen, bruised my lung, had 10 stitches on my forehead and had a concussion. I was still able to finish the last assignments from the hospital and home in order to complete the requirements and I now cannot graduate next month due to the outstanding balance. I have been trying to speak with the school, have offered to work off the balance and have had no success. I would appreciate any help in my attempt to raise the money in order to graduate.
