Need $4,400 or we will be homeless
Posted by Amykinsmdwest on 2012-05-12 17:58:38
This about sums it up. We did great for years and have been kicked in the face repeatedly by life. I'm about to get it back together with a new job and 50,000 shares of a new tech company about to be publicly traded on pink sheets.
Unfortunately, that's not soon enough for our landlords and we have received a notice to pay or leave in 3 days (Wednesday, May 17 would be the date).
The video sums it up, as I said. We put love and light into the world. We don't sit around and soak up resources. This is really bad. We could lose everything we have, which isn't very damn much. We'd still have each other, but just a world of heartbreak.
This wouldn't have to be gifts; it could be a loan. Let me know the terms. Anything you send on PayPal will be sent directly to our landlord, and at this point anything might help.
I've busted my bum looking for jobs. What used to get me the interview every time gets me nothing but a letter saying they had over 100 or 1,000 applications. I step up my game and they ask me if I am committed to their job, given my background is in something else.
Any suggestions welcome. *I could pay the money back. Again, just let me know your terms!*
Volo ut sis! Be well.

Trapped in a homeless shelter
Posted by Lost_in_KY on 2012-05-12 10:58:50
I am disabled from a car wreck with a semi, among other conditions. I was on disability for 15 years, but lost it almost 5 years ago because the guy I roomed with was always gone and was supposed to take me to my doctor and Social Security review appointments. Then he got us thrown out of the apartment because he had hoarded his paychecks, was living off my money, and wasn't paying the rent or bills. He left me with a $1600 light bill ! I didn't find out any of this until we were evicted.
I have been homeless ever since, for nearly 5 years, bounced around from place to place, unable to stay in one place long enough to get thru the Social Security application process - I had to start all over again. In 2010, I spent 8 month living in a closet in Columbus, OH and starved.
I had a Social Security hearing in Lexington, KY last August and was dropped off at a horrible homeless shelter in Lexington, to stay until my hearing, when I was assured by a 'free' lawyer I'd get my disability back. I didn't and now I've been trapped in this gulag for more than 10 months, among druggies, alcholics, and ex-cons dumped off here by the police and the Dept. of Corrections. The building is infested wih bedbugs and there is black mold everywhere, which caused me to have an inner ear infection that finally blew a hole in my eardrum since I couldn't get treated for it. Men sleep on the floors and the bathroom is a chamber of horrors. I've had food poisoning 4 times and a couple months ago, more than 40 men sought treatment for food poisoning. The nurse who reported the cases to the Health Dept suddenly left, while the cook remains at work. A Veteran's Admin rep said he wouldn't give the food served here to his dog.
I'm trapped here because Kentucky discriminates against men in that it will not give us Medicaid cards unless we're already on Social Security. This prevents me from having a family doctor and care for my disabilities, which I need in order to win back my benefits. Under these conditions, I will never be able to get out of this nightmare.
I have a friend in Florida who wants me to come down there. FL will give me a Medicaid card and I could at least have a fighting chance to win my disability back. As I've said; I was on it for 15 years and was repeatedly approved every 2 years during the case reviews. I need to get out of this awful state if this nightmare is ever to end. I've lost almost 11 months of my life being warehoused in a place that's one step above prison, and I've done nothing wrong to deserve this. Yet I'm subject to the same rules and restrictions as the ex-cons who live on the floors above me.
I have no family left to fall back on, so all I can do is ask for help. I need money to get to FL so I can get a doctor and my disabillity back, and have a life again. It will cost around $500 to get my things shipped to Orlando, and another $200 to get me there. Then I'd need somewhere to stay until I can get thru the Social Security process again. After that, I'd be OK.
Thank you for reading all this any any help offered would change my life. I would do everything I could to help other homeless men so as to give back help given me when I most needed it.

Please, help us survive until the IRS Refund arrives?
Posted by BadTiming on 2011-12-15 02:58:24
I am a single mom of 2 sons; 1 grown & doing wonderfully in the world & the other just entering his teen years. I've raised both boys on my own, survived despite chronic poverty & worked very hard for the past 25 years to do so. I am an unusually-talented & tenaceous woman, having changed careers several times in order to assure that my boys were always properly taken care of. Since 1995, I've worked in positions where I was unsupervised & done well ethically in that type of independent environment. As a subcontracted cab driver for the past 5 years, I've worked 60+ hours a week consistently, without vacation or any other benefits. I've missed only 8 workdays in all that time: 3 days for illness & 5 days straight this past August to care for my mother while she died. I'll be happy to provide direct contact with the cab company owner, should you wish to verify this information.
Several things have changed for me in the past few weeks. I came across an opportunity to start my own business. I crave the day when my earnings are no longer confined to poverty levels & the majority of my waking hours dictated by the terms of a subcontracted position. At 49, I'm still young enough to start fresh again, during these last few years before my youngest son flies the coup. I'm already well-practiced at working on my own. It's finally time for me to do that & reap the rewards as well.
In the meantime, my demanding schedule caused me to be lax in filing tax papers for 2008 & 2009. So, the last week of October, I filed the 2008 returns through a local tax preparer. I've just completed the 2009 books & submitted those to the tax preparer 2 days ago. The importance of the tax filings is that I have a refund of $2000 coming to me from 2008. The tax preparer told me it would take 2 to 4 weeks to receive those funds. So I began preparations to become this region's very first fully-trained SmartPhone & Tablet Repair Tech. Being a frugal woman, I formulated a plan to use the tax refund to pay $395 for the 10 days training & startup business tools. My son & I can easily live off of the remaining money while I launch my business. And with the additional refund from 2009 pending in another 6 to 8 weeks, I will be well-set to get my business rolling.
With the business plan & pending refund in mind; & following a serious disagreement on matters of proper customer service; I gave the cab company 30 days written notice & finished my last day on November 6th. I left on good terms with an option to return. But the owner has since filled my position, so even if I returned immediately, the hours would be sparse. Plus, I could no longer be happy there, having to repeatedly apologize to my customers because the company owner habitually re-contracts drivers of poor character. Swearing at, name-calling & being generally rude to customers & co-workers is unacceptable behavior, in my code of ethics.
However, my tax refund has yet to materialize. I called the IRS just today & finally got some information on my refund status. I already phoned them just 2 weeks ago to correct a major error by the tax preparer. The kind young woman I spoke with today informed me of yet another major error by the tax preparer; & because of that error, it will now be another month before they send a refund to me!
So here I am, trying to keep the faith & maintain my patience, but stressing over unpaid bills. The first of the month has passed. I live in HUD subsidized housing, & my rent is only $110, but it was due by the 5th. I have never been late with my rent, but this month I had to practically beg for the apartment managers to be patient in getting the rent paid. There are also utility bills of nearly $200 due, & my prepaid phone was shut off for several days last week until a good friend paid that bill for me. I had faith in my tax preparer & was counting on having my refund by now to pay those bills. Needless to say, I am very unhappy with his service at this point.
I spent 2 weeks trying to get a 'payday' or personal loan. But because I was a subcontractor & now I'm unemployed, no one is willing to make such a loan. I even dedicated a full day last week to 14 fruitless hours straight online, just trying to click enough surveys to pay the $50 phone bill. I receive no child support or welfare benefits. Sadly for my son, Santa will not be arriving until well after Christmas. At this point, my income is 0.
So what I am asking for is just enough money to get us by until the tax refund arrives. I can reasonably make $750 stretch through to mid-January.
I am proud. It is hard for me to ask for this. But it is even harder to grovel to my landlords & the utility companies. And it was never my intent to risk us losing our home. I am deeply concerned that this may happen. The timing is simply bad for us not to have our refund yet. I wish my tax preparer had done a better job for me.
I have been blessed with great health & an optimistic outlook, despite all my life's trials. Others are not nearly so lucky & I am truly grateful for my blessings. I am also grateful to you for your consideration in this matter. Giving to others to help them improve their lives is indeed a noble endeavor. Bless you

"Force people to feel your pain, put it on them. Show them how this world can create someone like you. Remind them that the state of the world we are in will continue to bring about people like us, the unloved, un-noticed, under-appreciated."
And it made me think, wow thats a fucking GREAT idea!!, what a wonderful way to make yourself feel better, why did i never think of that before? Well it seems like everybody else is doing it so why not? the worlds already fucked up so lets just add to all the bullshit and drama of life and see just how bad we can make it for others, after all wont we then realize just how good we've got it? even when you think you have nothing at all, if you think about children that are kidnapped, taken to a place their not familiar with, repeatedly raped by ass holes who would rather pay somebody to fuck a kid than find a real woman, beaten, held down and forced to develop an awful drug addiction that will keep them in a lifestyle of tragedy for the rest of their lives. Do we really have it bad? I want to kick myself in the ass sometimes for pitying myself and wishing i had it better. but then again is it really so bad to want the finer things in life? i mean it seems hope is what drives most people in life, without it where would we be? if we didnt have any hope at all why get out of bed in the morning? we do it for various reasons but mainly because we hope to achieve some kind of goal whether it be to see whats going on in the world around us, complain about it, to suppress that feeling of hunger, to use the bathroom instead of shitting or pissing on yourself, go to work or whatever. im tired of hearing about people being depressed because there is no hope in their life. the only people that really have no hope at all are already dead. Show yourself no mercy, make life what you want it to be, after all life really is whatever you make it. You can have nothing at all and not have eaten in days and still be a happy fucking go lucky numb skull without a care in the world if you pity not yourself but everyone else. I served a few months in jail this past year and found that i was really fucking HAPPY! I know what your thinking, what kind of brain dead fucking idiot could be happy to be in jail? i was not happy to be in jail but happy that i had a roof over my head, a mat to sleep on, a blanket to stay warm, 2 meals a day i mean what else could you ask for? all of your basic needs are met. Do you really deserve to have anything more than anybody else? when there are people out there that die all the time because they CANT get those basic needs fulfilled why in the hell are we driving brand new cars or even cars at all, living in homes made of enough aluminum, brick, wood and other materials to feed someone enough to keep them alive for a good part of their life. Doesnt it seem to you that if people really gave a shit about themselves or anybody else they would be more than grateful to be able to give up material possessions to give someone else a chance to live a life at all? The truth is we are all stuck up pricks that dont give a shit about anything but satisfying our own lust of pleasure. I will say there are a "few" good people out there but if your sitting there reading this on a computer and you think youve got it bad, your a stuck up peice of shit too. After all you can afford to spend money on electricity but you cant afford to feed someone, even if you do donate to charities are you really doing enough? No because your still on the computer wasting money that you could be using to feed a kid somewhere out there that otherwise will starve to death. Thats just the way it is and we've been doing it our whole lives. If you dont like the thought of being a selfish peice of shit, youve got 2 choices. Either get over it and accept the fact that your just as bad as the shit heads that flew their planes into the twin towers and killed all those people, or give up everything you have and help somebody out, stop wanting, start giving. Which will you do? If you want to change your ways you can start by donating a few dollars to help keep food in my stomach and a warm place to sleep. We'll see just how many "good" people are out there, i doubt many of you are. - Gabriel Turner You can email me at damaster406@gmail.com or send money to that email address using paypal at http://www.paypal.com

My father was a Vietnam vet who proudly enlisted into the army to serve his country. After willingly serving two tours of duty, he came home and married my mother (his high school sweetheart) and started a family consisting of me and my two older sisters.
When I was four, my father began experiencing difficulties with his legs and feet. After many unsuccessful operations, it was determined that he was losing the bone density in his legs and he was put in a wheelchair.
My father was an amazing man; he never let his being in a wheelchair keep him down. He climbed Pike's Peak twice and Mount Evans once in his wheelchair, one of his climbs was filmed by a local TV show in Colorado called P.M. Magazine. We have the video footage on beta and are trying to find a way to convert it to DVD. I would love to share his story with anyone wanting to watch it. It shows what a courageous man he was. It was a heartbreaking climb over rough terrain and sometimes he had to strap his wheelchair to his ankles and drag it while he scooted up steep inclines on his backside. It never deterred him. He had more strength and determination than any man I have ever met in my life. He also ran marathons in his wheelchair and spoke to other handicapped and disabled individuals to help them realize that although someone may be hindered, it just means that they learn to function differently. "I may be in a wheelchair, but the wheelchair isn't in me," he used to say.
In 1987, when I was 12, the harsh weather conditions of Colorado became unbearable for my father and we moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico.
My father was never granted disability in Colorado or New Mexico and while he fought for 30 years for his pension from the Army, he never received that either (the common story of we can't seem to find your files even though my father repeatedly submitted his paperwork to show his contribution to our country). As a result, my mother found herself working 2 full time jobs just to support us and we still barely made ends meet.
We grew up poor our entire lives, but we understood what it was like to be rich in other ways. Our family was close and we knew that, no matter how rough things could be at times, that we really did have each other. My sisters and I grew very close over the time when we had no electricity and only had each other to listen to because we didn't have the power for television and radio. We are still very close to this day. I will never regret how we grew up, even with the struggles, because it was the foundation of who we are today. We all learned how to be kind and unselfish and value each other. Both my sisters and I all have our own children and work hard to instill the same values in them.
In 2000, my father was diagnosed with lung cancer as a result of being subjected to Agent Orange while in Vietnam. The tumors were visible in both lungs and nothing could be done. He passed away one week after the diagnosis. We had no time to prepare and certainly no time to say goodbye.
My mother now lives in PA in a cute little Amish town. She has since remarried a wonderful man named Jack. He is also a Vietnam veteran.
My sisters and I still live in New Mexico with our families, although my heart is definitely on the east coast with my mother.
A short time after my mother moved to PA, she got a
job as a nurse. She loved helping other people as she had done all her life. Unfortunately, she suffered a fall that left her with permanent neck and spinal injuries. After going through her own numerous surgeries, she was unable to continue the work that she loved so much. The tables have turned from when we were growing up where she was the only source of income and Jack has been the sole provider for the last several years.
Recently, Jack began to feel very ill and it looks like the effects of Agent Orange have done their damage once again. He is suffering from skin cancer and stage 4 prostate cancer and after going through a series of tests, the probability of also having lymphoma is very high. My mother is going through the same horror once again and while my sisters and I are grown, losing a father to Agent Orange for the second time isn't easy on the heart.
A few years ago, my mother lost both parents and her only sibling, a brother, in the span of four months. She has nobody and I can't bear to leave her alone while she suffers physically and emotionally.
Unfortunately, I lost my job a couple months ago due to layoffs and have had extreme difficulty finding another source of income. Las Cruces is a small city with very limited opportunity. While I worked in the same profession for the past 11 years, I have applied for any and every type of job I could find.
We are struggling to find a way to move close to my mother so that I can take care of her and so she won't be alone if she loses Jack. My sisters and I are the only family she has left and I want nothing more than to be there for her.
I am hoping to find a job there very quickly and I would also love to attend schooling and get my degree in forensics. It has been a dream of mine to be able to assist in solving crime related cases. I firmly believe that I can accomplish my career goals and help my mother if I were in a state with far more job opportunities.
We have never been comfortable financially and my 2 teenage boys understand what it is like to do without the things they want in exchange for just the things they need, much like my sisters and I when we were growing up. I have always wanted more for my kids than to see them grow up here in a high poverty state. I believe the job opportunities and schooling for them will be equally beneficial. They both already have career minded goals that will take them farther in a bigger state.
It has been 4 years since I've seen my mother as neither of us can afford the expense of a trip.
All I am requesting is enough assistance to be able to move my family closer to my mother and locate a house to rent while I search for a job. I am only asking for short term support as I know that I am capable of supporting my own family and I am certain that I will be able to find gainful employment in a short time.

How did life become so hard?

I suffer with bouts of hemorrhage which impede my ability to maintain a steady job because when it happens I'm absent from work almost two weeks. When it happens I lie in bed and wonder/pray Lord will I live or die? Do I need a transfusion? I'm about two points from a transfusion now. I need to purchase medical insurance so I can see a doctor and take care of this one way or another. Hospital bills are about 20,000 now. I need money for medical insurance and also to have dental work done. My teeth hurt. I need about several thousand dollars of dental work done. One dentist's attorney is threatening to seize my car. I owe him $6000.00. I had paid him $3000.00 already, but he raised it back up as if I had paid nothing. I couldn't make it to court because of hemorrhage and the judge put the judgment through.
Even worse, I have a son whom I love very much, living with his dad. David is 18 now with prior developmental challenges. His father made repeated threats on my life if I didn't transfer custody. How I mourn that I gave in. I owe back child support because I haven't been able to work steadily. I do whatever I can with dignity. I do private caregiving, clean houses, some occasional paralegal contract work, sew-make native coats and sew clothes in general--all when I'm able, feeling strong. When I'm not well with the hemorrhage I'm on bed rest. My earnings are not even enough to pay my bills...not to mention child support. I presented proof of hemorrhage to a semijudge(mediator etc.)in court and she rejected it and computed a monthly amount of $400.00 based on my ability to earn money because of my educational background. She didn't compute it based on facts. Anyway, I have to appear in court on May 2 for another violation of nonpayment not because I don't want to pay, but because I can't afford it. They're saying that in total I owe $26,000.00. There is a chance that they'll incarcerate me on 5/2/11 for nonpayment of child support. God says do not be afraid, but this is alot, more than I can bear alone.
Please, I am begging, pleading for help, for compassion with tears in my eyes and my heart just wants to burst. I feel so alone with these problems. No one really knows how badly I feel. I love life and I love people, and I do whatever I can to love my neighbor as myself and to love God with all my heart mind and soul, but this just seems to much to bear.
All I can offer is my love and friendship, appreciation if you will be so kind and compassionate as to donate to my cause. I will be forever grateful and I will pray that you have stored up treasures in heaven with Almighty God. I will pray for you and your loved ones. If you are ill or suffering with illness or addiction of some sort I will pray with you. I could meet with you in NYC or you could join me in the mid hudson valley, brunch, walk and talk when I'm able. I just mean to say that this is the truth. I need desperate help before May 2 and ongoing. I need an attorney as well as money. Please help me to turn this around. I'd have a hysterectomy if I could afford it. Leave your number or mailing address and I'll be glad to personally thank you. Money is a tool and I need the help now more than ever. Please help me. Thank you and God bless you.
Cristi
I almost forgot that I can introduce you to a health/weight loss or gain program which has helped me alot because I was
worse than what I am now. Anyway please go to my site:
drop40.isagenix.com and check it out. Thanks.

Honda Element
Posted by Jennifer on 2011-03-27 18:58:04
I broke down and replaced all four tires on the van before winter came, but drive very limited amounts because of the overall condition of the car. My credit took a tumble when I was laid off in the middle of 2007, but I have told my children that we will continue to drive the van until I can buy a Honda Element.
Although it may seem excessive, it is the car I want and am willing to sacrifice for. Right now, we are dependant on other people to make longer trips because the van won't start after 2-3 stops and starts.
I would really like to be able to purchase a used Element by summer so we are not trapped into not going anywhere. Every penny counts, and i would appreciate any donations that I receive. I am truly just trying to get our life back on track, and the car is a major focal point in being able to do that.
Need donations to get a new passport!

Without a passport, French police can detain me for 48 hours with no cause, repeatedly. And it's happened already; I've spent the night in a jail cell twice!
So please, if you can help out, I would really appreciate not having to spend the night in a jail cell again. Help me get a new passport, so I can come home!
Anything helps, really! I have about $20 so far, but I really need to get the rest as soon as possible so the embassy will issue me a passport.
In desperate need of surgery

My shame knows no bounds, but I have to try something.

My name is Elizabeth, but I go by my middle name Kelly. I am a 38 year old disabled woman (degenerative disc disease, two back surgeries, one abdominal surgery). I current live in El Cajon, California and due to painful reasons I cannot voice, I must move NOW. I am trying to move up to the Bay Area as I have family and friends there.
I have saved $10,000 of my own money, but I need another $10,000 ASAP. I have found land on which to build a home. The land is $9700 for a .27 acre lot. No, that's not a joke. There are about 26 lots available within a sixty mile radius of San Francisco that are listed at/or below $25,000. While I am building, I intend to live in an RV. It's the most cost effective way to move right NOW and have a home of my own for the first time in my life. I have found a suitable and well priced RV for sale. The dealership has agreed to knock another $2000 off, so after fees and taxes, it would be $11,000.
First problem: My credit has been destroyed over the last three years due to medical bills that I put on credit cards (those financial issues are resolved, but still took their toll on my credit). All of my efforts to obtain any kind of financing have now been exhausted. My credit report is actually the lesser of the issues. It's the fact that I'm disabled, on a fixed income, and have no idea when or if I can return to work (I have requested clearance to return to work and have been denied repeatedly by three different doctors). This presents the biggest concern for lenders despite the fact that how little I need to borrow would constitute a monthly payment of only 17% of my income. It makes no difference if the loan is for the land or the RV. I am considered too much of an "unknown risk." And to answer an obvious question, yes my family has already pitched in as much as they can.
Second problem: With the $10,000 I have, I can either buy the land outright, or buy the RV outright, but not both. If I buy the land, I have no way to live on it. If I buy the RV, I have no place to park it to live in it. So, I am throwing my pride out the window and I'm asking for help. If you can and are willing to help, I would be extremely grateful. Every single dollar counts... So, if a dollar is all you can spare, I would still be just as grateful. At the point at which I own the land and the RV (and my car, which is paid off) this will be just enough collateral for a bank to loan me the $45,000 I will need for the cabin kit (it's a small cabin that comes to you in pieces and you put it together yourself.... think Ikea on a much larger scale, and much better quality; it is about $18,000), and the rest of the bank loan would be to connect to utilities and lay a foundation.
I want to make it clear that I am only asking for enough help to get me up to the Bay Area... 10K total. Once I have the minimum I need, this post will come down. I'm not asking for any more than I need to get the land and the RV at the same time. I'm not asking for ANY of the money I will need to build my home and connect to utilities. I can and want to take responsibility for that myself. I'm only asking for the kick-start I need... I've saved half my start up on my own. I need help for the last push to get me to my personal "Promised Land."
Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my situation... I hope that one day, when I am financially established again, I will have the means to come back here and help others the way I was helped in my time of need.
Kelly
