Refrigerator Tags

Hello! My name is Taya and I am going through the most trying times of my entire life! Property taxes are due and an ex-husband who just can't let it go still inflicts economic abuse to our household. Four children and myself! Legal fees are surpassing last year's annual income, the refrigerator is broken, the dishwasher is all apart trying to fix it, the bills keep piling on. I am a very optimistic person and I give every chance I get when asked at a register, or for food pantries, the animal refuge league. I really need to fix this situation for myself and the kids. I am on the lam for $450K to bring back some kind of financial health. Family Court in Portland Maine, Cumberland County and the Attorneys that soak us for thousands of dollars to battle in court with someone who simply wants to inflict more economic abuse has not worked out at all for so many reasons. I'm throwing this one out there to the universe. One of my most used sayings is, "Ask and you shall receive." I am now asking and I thank anyone who would donate to this situation. In fact, I thank you and appreciate anything that you can do, even if it's a buck, if this cyber beg (weird, yeah) is seen by many people how are looking simply to tithe. I knew the day would come. I would turn the key to the lock of my apartment and the lights wouldn't turn on. I would drop my purse on the counter and open the refrigerator to get a cold drink and it wouldn't be there. For months I stressed about it; feeling powerless to do anything about it. After five years at my job, I still couldn't afford to pay my bills.

A few of my family members know that I don't have electricity; and one trusted co-worker at my job. But it's the secret shame I'm only allowed to grieve about when I walk out the doors of my job every day. The extra daylight of Summer delays the depression that sets in inside a dark apartment. I sit in my recliner next the the window in my living room, in front of a television I can't turn on. My radio and my cell phone is my only connection to what's going on on the outside. As the heat index creeps into the 90's, it's harder and harder for me to get the rest I need to be ready for work the next day. It's hard to keep my motivation up to keep getting out of bed to go to a job that won't get this $6,000.00 monkey off my back.

In my lowest moments I think about how this all came to be. I was trying to do a good deed. PECO Energy turned off my cousin's electric. So I turned it on in my name. I was so naive... so trusting... I was paying rent. I thought she was paying the bill. I never once questioned it. Isn't that what people do? They pay bills right? I never once questioned it. I never imagined that I could be burned this way by the people I trusted the most; my family.

PECO Energy had every reason why they couldn't work with me. with a rent of $700.00 a month and an income of $21,000 a year, I was told by every public assistance program that I make too much money. It's expensive to eat out, so most of my income is absorbed with rent and food. I will be starting college in August and I have no electricity to do my homework.

To say that I need help is an understatement. This is a heartfelt plea to anyone out there who has ever wanted more for their life; and for anyone who was ever drowning and someone grabbed their hand to pull them up. I really need some help. My bill is $6,000.00. Whatever you can donate, no matter how small will be the miracle I need to turn this thing around. Opening up this dialog has been one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do. I want to thank all of you who read this and decide to be the difference.

I'm a 27 year old single mom of there kids (nine year old twins and a five year old). In December of '10, their father left and filed for divorce, giving no reason as to why. I've had to take on a second job as a server at a local restaurant and with all the bills I've been left with, we've been just scraping by. There's absolutely no extra money to buy the kids clothes or shoes or to take them to do anything fun. We do well to keep enough groceries in the house. Unfortunately, a couple weeks ago, the refrigerator stopped working. What I'm asking for is at least some help to replace it. I know that's alot, but there's no way I could ever afford it on my own and the kids really need to have cold milk and fresh veggies. I posted it so people would not think I was one of these people who are just trying to "hustle" some one. My family and myself have been living without gas the past few months, but that has been fine being that it is summer. As of recent our landlord has givin us a notice to leave being we are a a bit over 2 months behind.
Everything I receive from disability goes into keeping us afloat, and it just does not seem to be enough. I am trying to sell our washer, a stove, and an old refrigerator (if anyone needs one in eastern OH, western PA).
My children do not deserve this, they are far beyond to great, my son is a football great, and two daughters are beautiful cheer-leaders. All three are great in school, and everyday I do not have any idea how they cope with our situation.
