Whatevers in your couch cushions will help.....

Posted by pennyjar on 2012-05-22 20:58:04

Where to begin? Well Im currently pregnant, close to 7 months and working part time. Ive stepped in some muck lately but it just gets deeper, trying to get out though. I have a roof for which Im thankful but have nothing to cook on, I have an ok job but no transportation, Im being blessed with a second child at my age but no bassinette or car seat, I barely make the bills and have a disabled mom to support, but I get up every day and try. Im only asking for a little relief from worry as I near maternity leave (unpaid of course). If anyone can just donate spare change thats a few cents off my mind, and believe me worry weighs more than an elephant! Anything would be a blessing, pennies from heaven or a quarter from the ashtray in the car :) Thank You

I don't like the word beg but I guess that is what it is. My pride is high and I hate asking for help but I don't know what else to do. I saw something on TV and decided to try this. Here goes!
I am a 39 year old with 3 children and a disabled husband. I have a lot of issues right now that I am trying to deal with and keep my family off the streets. I don't mind sharing my story if need be because honesty is the best policy. My husbands SSI is very low, as if he has not really worked and he is over 50. I have been trying to keep my head up and keep my bills paid. I work but my job is a PRN position because it was all I could get. I was making a fairly good pay until they decided our department needed cut backs and cut our hourly pay almost three dollars. I am trying so hard to finish school to be a LPN and then a RN. I have been trying to finish school since 1992. I know that if I can get my degree, I can provide for my family. So, I have bills up my butt and school is hard. Now, I am dealing with losing my financial aid because though I have a high enough GPA, my other cumulative average is below standard. I knew nothing about that. I was focusing on making sure my grades were good enough. My 14 year old daughter is pregnant and I can't even afford to begin buying baby things or think of how to save for it. My husband is so content with his little check until nothing else matters. My oldest daughter is in college with me trying to get her LPN but her hearts desire is to be an OB/GYN but they changed the required score level for the SAT and ACT and she registered one quarter to late to get in. Had she registered earlier, she could have gotten in the school she wants to attend but now she has to go to a local college and earn credits and then transfer, IF her grades are good enough. ON top of all that, my husband was just hit in the rear by another driver and our car was totaled and he was hurt. So, my only car, of which I was paying on still, is gone and I owe to much on it for the insurance to pay it off.
I feel overwhelmed, depressed and like I will never make it. I am working, attending school, and trying to write a book and do a gospel CD. Anything to try and bring in money to support my family. I really don't know what else to do.
I don't know if this works or not, but I am willing to try. I have felt so bad until at times I wanted to just end it all but I know that is not the example I want for my children. I want to see my grand daughter born and I want my children to finish school and do better than me, but also see me come out of my struggle. I keep telling them I am going to buy the house we live in, they keep laughing and even with that, the land lord is talking about putting it on the market because I can't come up with what I need to even start buying. I pray that God blesses my household and family. If someone does decide that my issues are worth helping, then I pray God bless you with an overflow for your blessing me. I don't know what else to say but thank you in advance. As embarrassed as I am, I can only pray this is real. If not, at least I got to vent and get it all of my chest. I had no one else to tell anyway.
Thank You!

If I could turn back time

Wow , Where do I start? Okay, first of all I was collecting unemployment after being laid off. Anyway apparently this quarter does not have enough in it because last year I was out of work for eight weeks following a major surgery. That's what lowered my quarter fro unemployment. I live in a rural area in Wisconsin and I have gone everywhere for help. All of the churches(which won't help), Human services which only helped with food stamps after making me wait over a month. I had to feed my kids from the food pantries which I am grateful for but they have limited items. My utilities and rent and car are all at risk right now. If I don't have a car I can't continue my job search as there is no public transportation.
To further make everything unbearable my youngest brother passed away on November 1st and we have no answers to his death. I just need someone willing to help me get back on my feet. I have taken the only job I could find for now. The pay is terrible and it's only part-time but I thought it would be easier to get a job if I were working. The pay won't cover my rent and utilities and car. I just need a break, Please help!! Please

Help needed for my univeristy studies

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my posting. I am a mature student, aged 46 and the oldest on my course and have managed to support myself and my children through three years of my undergraduate degree course. It hasn't been easy, but I am confident I will be able to gain a good position within a company and ensure financial security for my family. I am looking to complete a distance learning masters course to enhance my qualifications, and to allow me to seek work at the same time, but the cost of postgraduate fees is in the region of £7,500. I have saved a quarter of the money for these fees from my limited income but need help raising the balance. If you would like to donate any amount of money, no matter how small, I would be very grateful. Thank you again for reading my posting and wishing you a pleasant, peaceful day.

Trying to Make it Through a Rough Patch

Posted by VeroG on 2012-03-18 15:58:49

Please help me out... I need almost $4000 before the end of the month.
Let me give you the short version of a very long story... after finally leaving my cheating husband I finally decided to go back to school. I moved to San Diego in order to attend UCSD. I was able to secure a partial scholarship which covers most of my tuition and was able to secure loans to help with most of the rest of the costs. I assumed I would quickly be able to find a job and help pay for my living costs and other expenses... and I had some money saved up. Things didn't go as planned... I went through my savings and I just barely found a job that pays a decent wage while working around my school schedule. But now that I have a job my car has been repossessed so I have no way to get to my job. I need to pay the amount owed to get my car back so I can work. My phone is about to be cut because I haven't paid my phone bill in two months. I owe my roommate one months rent and I owe the school for the books I bought for this quarter... so I won't be able to enroll until I pay for the books I owe.
Please help me get through this hard time, so I can continue to go to school I feel like if I can make it over this hump I can do the rest myself.
Thank you for any help and prayers... it's all very much appreciated.

To whom it may concern,

Stated Goal: $2,000.00 (by March 21st, 2012) for tuition, books and some new pants to get my academic career going... Breakdown of $1,288.33 for tuition/fees, approximately $400.00 in textbooks/supplies for the quarter, and the remainder for some pants and necessary travel expenditures for the first month of school.

I know you have many options with where your hard-earned money goes - some may make you feel GREAT about shedding a few pounds in the wallet, and others will leave you feeling downright dirty. I know this, because I was once in your shoes; money in my wallet, left only to my vices as to where to spend it. I never felt right about just handing it over to someone who, in my opinion, would merely go drink it away, drug it away, etc. It's funny how life throws these things all back into your face sometimes, and as such I find myself in need and hoping that the right person(s) will have the faith to invest in me - that's right, I said INVEST.

I don't believe in a handout, but I DO believe that sometimes we fall a bit harder than we are prepared to do and as such are put into situations that we neither expected nor are comfortable with. I opened a business that was going rather well for its first 7 months of operation. Then, through an anonymous post from someone online that "appeared" to be from my company, me and my business partner got black-balled from the industry (VERY political/bureaucratic in that particular industry). When this went under, though, it took me and everything I own with it - my vehicle, my home and much of my personal belongings. Prior to that, I spent 11 years on active duty military status in order to protect and serve this country. Yes, I've earned the G.I. Bill and fully intend to use it for its designed purpose. TheMy defining issue, however, is that the Bill pays for school on a month-to-month basis, at the END of each month of training. For example, my school begins this April 2nd so I cannot claim my benefits until the end of April, which will cause my first G.I. bill payment to get sent out in early May. The school, however, requires payment up-front and as explained above, I currently do not have the capital to get started. Once I've started, the Bill will sustain me, therefore I merely ask for assistance in getting the first quarter of classes paid, including books. I have a great academic history, and this is truly where I excel. My purpose is to some day acquire a PhD in pharmaceutics and do research to find new and improved medications for the benefit of the masses.

As for the pants, I have two pairs remaining and both have holes in the legs and crotch. While these DO technically work for all intents and purposes, it gets a bit breezy on these cold days and nights, and is probably unsightly (at best) to any of my would-be professors who may not appreciate an instructor's-eye-view of these things. As such, I figure I might like to buy a couple of pairs prior to matriculation.

Thank you, in advance, to any and all who assist me on this endeavor.

Hi.

Thanks for taking the time to read my request. I'm 30 years old, still in college and living with my parents. I've made a lot of great accomplishments in my life with far less support than most people who make it this far. Of course, with that said I've also made plenty of mistakes.

I grew up with a single parent, and another parent who visited annually just to stir up emotions and make my life miserable. When I was 18, I decided to work really hard to lose weight so that I could join the US Air Force. I had a strict plan that I was going to follow to succeed in life.

Unfortunately my superiors in the USAF would not accommodate that plan to independence as they forced me to find my own way from the barracks to work (a 40 mi drive), so I had to immediately struggle to get my drivers licence and I had to buy a car on an Airman's paygrade.

My income wasn't enough to afford the car and gas and other living needs that I was expected to pay, so eventually I had to leave the Air Force before my term was up (under honorable conditions). I tried to work as a civilian. The transfer was tough and I was vastly uninformed about what to do and what my options were. I'm the first first generation college student of my extended family.

After some petty jobs that would each take more than 10 years to be able to earn enough to live independently, I finally found a nice nighttime custodian job that was at least simple enough for that kind of pay. I was the night time custodian, but I was also a guy to have on call at this retirement home where I worked. If people's toilets flooded or a nearly deaf resident left their tv on past quiet hours (once I could hear one through 3 floors!) I was the guy to send up to fix it.

Having my first satisfying job as a civilian, I was able to investigate community college during the day, so eventually I enrolled and tried taking a few classes while working full-time. College was my saving grace. I never felt like I belonged anywhere until I first started to take college courses in math, science, and philosophy. I found the tutoring lounge on campus, made a lot of friends there, and I spent many hours cramming and helping those in need.

This soon led to me finding financial aid, making arrangements with my parents (my mom and my stepfather) to let me go to school full-time while I lived with them, and putting in my 2 weeks notice at work to focus exclusively on school.

My counselors advised that I pick where I want to transfer to and then figure out the details of how to get there after I got accepted. I think this was bad advice. While I ended up choosing to transfer to a university that had my desired major, Biophysics, it was 60 miles away from where my parents lived. My car that I had bought when I was in the Air Force also eventually broke down from not being able to afford maintenance while I worked, and was towed away for being in the public street for too long.

Finally, I got accepted to UC San Diego to work towards a degree in Physics with a specialty in Biophysics. When it came time to transfer, I got as involved as I could on how and when I was supposed to receive the financial aid so that I could go get an apartment and everything, and my school kept telling me, "you should get it tomorrow" until about 2 weeks into my first quarter when I finally got the support.

Despite this rocky start, I managed to get into a good shape for myself, making my way slowly but surely through school. Learning a great deal. Eventually when I felt the struggle was too difficult, I changed my major to Neuroscience before I began my upper division coursework.

So, as I settled into my schooling and struggled with maintaining financial independence on financial aid, I managed to get myself into maintaining a great aquarium hobby, owned two great little kittens from a street cat program, led as president of a student organization for one year, and eventually I got married. I also carefully learned about the stock market and managed to make some great gains with money that I had invested from financial aid savings.

In 2010, my gains were over 100%. That amounted to $2000 doubling itself, but still, that says a lot about me as a trader. However, 6 months into my marriage, she said she wanted out, grabbed the car that we both paid into (most of the money was mine from stocks; $5500 worth), and refused to pay her share of 2 months rent. That happened in December of the year of 2010.

2011 was a difficult year for me. I fought hard to maintain things, especially my head, but it was tough. I lost 45 lbs from exercising regularly, made lots of new friends, and I got some volunteer work experience in a Neuroscience lab. But I just couldn't focus well enough to maintain my finances and my grades, so I had to drop out and live back with my parents.

Despite how tough it's been, not finding work, struggling with the ins and outs of the VA, and just needing a professional therapist to talk to and help me keep my head straight but never being able to get one, I've managed to recuperate well enough and learn a lot more about this bottom floor of society that I've been so desperately trying to escape my whole life.

I've gone looking for opportunity in every direction. I've tried changing my career goals, collecting recyclables, writing online, trying any online scheme that didn't include me forking out money to get it, imagining what I could write as a novel, tried to make money through playing video games, making goal after goal after goal for myself, but still just not being able to get just the right amount of money to put me back on my feet.

I'll be going back to school in April at the risk of having to do it as a homeless person if the VA doesn't pull through for me. They recently approved my 10% service connected disability status and now I need to jump over a few more hurdles to get my more significant service connected disabilities recognized. I'm also seeing what the vocational rehab people can do for me despite the bureaucratic issues that are stopping them from helping me all the way.

BTW, this whole time that I've gone through life with common lower class difficulties, I've been disabled with a number of small conditions that all add up to a hard time. I have lower back issues that the military has yet to own up to. Community college found also that I have a learning disability which makes some intellectual tasks show up as lower than average ability for me while the rest of my intellect is high enough to expect that I could easily get a Masters Degree or a PhD. My biggest difficulty in school is that they don't give me enough time to show them what I know or what I'm capable of.

From working with special needs students as a tutor, I have proven to myself that there is a major problem in the education system. Most teachers never simplify the material into a clear picture of what they want to teach. If you want someone to learn something, the last thing you should be fuzzy on is what it is exactly that you want them to learn. We can't all work like intuitive Jedi or sophisticated parrots.

If you help me out, here is a list of the priorities of what your money will go towards, in order of their priority If you would like to request that I spend your donation on a specific cause, please let me know:

1. A working cheap economic vehicle.
I need something that I can sleep in and that will take me wherever I need to go. Preferably something that can stow quite a few recyclables as well to pay for gas, but not an SUV or truck or van (Unless that's all that is cheap of course. Not likely but you never know.).
I'll aim for great gas mileage, but I'm thinking that I should attend some police car auctions to see what the cheapest deal I can find is. This car would make a great shelter for me while I return to my far away school.

2. Investing on the stock market.
Trust me, I know how to fish. If you want to send me a request for proof I'd be glad to compose some evidence of my finest moments as well as my worst to show you that I can do well for myself on the stock market, even during the recession. What I could really use right now, is a little bait. Trading is good money for me, but to make enough to make gains worth more than the commission cost (about $10), you need about $300-1000 per investment. $300 is more for the high risk lottery plays on the market. I even made a blog about it if you would like to see:
http://www.squidoo.com/TheYoungidealistEconomyBlog
If you are willing, we can arrange something personal so that you wont need to worry about me putting the money you offer at high risk and blow it all. Might even be able to arrange something where I could make money for you to prove myself before accepting your donation. Whatever the case, I know we'd have to make it a personal arrangement to satisfy the current laws.

3. Working towards paying my debts to my friends.
My friends have been really supportive through these hard times, though they are starving students themselves. To keep up my morale they've bought me food, given me a place to crash when they could, and even paid to have me join them at fun local events. I have some money that I've promised them back, and I plan on making due on those promises as soon as possible.

4. Paying off my debts with companies.
I've had times where I couldn't afford to pay for rent and had to leave, like when my wife left me to live with her parents. These issues follow me on my credit score and I would like to work towards removing them so that I can turn my life around.

5. Getting a good start towards paying off my student loans.
I know I won't be able to pay them off before I find a good career with my degree. I would just like to have something to start making some automatic payments with and put that part of my bad credit score behind me as well.

6. Buying a home.
My mom never owned a home. No offense meant to land lords out there, but I really think the rental system is way out of line. My mom was always a hard worker. Way better than me, yet she could never own a home because she didn't have the money. Meanwhile, people with money could live in great big houses for less than she even had to pay.
I want a house to own. Probably start with a condo and seek ways to improve it and flip a profit out of it. Then I want to keep building up money from housing until I can manage to build an apartment building.
If I could, I'd like to make an apartment building near a university that offers cheap housing using the Japanese capsule model or something even more economic and more comfortable.

7. Making an online tutoring site meant to offer free tutoring and tutoring for tips. Imagine a site (I have yet to know of one) where people can collect their resources on a class, much like they collect info on ratemyprofessor.com, but also seek help from others who are taking the class or who have taken the class. Donors like you can offer money to tutors who post their notes and stories on the site, alongside ratings from other students that they helped.
Some tutors can offer their rates for help, sell their notes online for cheap, or just offer their help whenever they can and ask to be tipped through paypal if someone likes their work. My hope is that such a site could help to put an end to sophistry in the college system once and for all, making education easy and affordable for everyone.

8. After I have everything I'm hoping for above, the sky is the limit. But I would prefer to put the extra money that I don't need to good uses. I would spread a little philanthropy around, give to others in need on this site and through other resources.
I'd also look to teach others how to fish. I think a great way for the economy to be fixed would be if philanthropists made some really good employee owned companies. Make the place pay for itself, skim a little off the top, and walk away knowing that you really were a job creator.
I think that everyone who is capable of work and who chooses to work deserves to have their own independent living situation. I know that we are a long way from that, but I tend to be an optimist. I would like to try and make the world a better place, if nothing else.

Aside form financial help, I'm interested in anything else that I could get that's useful. Advice, Neuroscience Career connections, work, hobby or volunteer work that can easily become lucrative, I'm really all ears. Thanks again for taking the time to read my request. I hope you find it in you to help me out, even get to know me if you'd like. Bet you $5000 I can make you laugh. Did I win? >;) it was worth a try anyway.

Money for gas

Posted by Midway7c on 2012-02-24 10:58:18

I need money for gas. Any is appreciated. :) I have a small car so 20 dollars will fill the tank but just 5 dollars will give me a quarter of a tank. I have all my books and stuff paid for but gas is going up so any extra help would be so wonderful. I have just been recently let go from my previous employer so I am job hunting while attending school. I am going to a community college called Tri-County community college and its 20 minutes away. I am a full time student so I do a lot of driving back and forth. So any gas money donated will be used with the utmost optimism. Thank you for your time in reading this, I hope you have a great day.

Down @ College

I have tried unsuccessfully for six years to obtain employment, housing, and health insurance. I study all of the time and attend college full time (I'm five classes away from earning a science degree). I've borrowed all of the money that I can at my level at school. I've been able to live by staying on the couches of fellow students. I have five weeks of classes left in this quarter and only pocket change left to do it with. I spend $5.00 every day just to travel back and forth to school. I need money to rent an apartment where I can study and buy food so I can regain my healthy lifestyle. Please help me. I thank you for what ever size donation that you can afford to give.

woman needs ur help to finish school & get two jobs

Posted by aprettywoman1 on 2012-02-09 10:58:13

I am a single 50 year old woman. I have raised two natural born boys and three adopted boys. I have raised these children as a single woman and at times worked two jobs. I have received a scholarship for school but due to illness, I currently need seven classes to complete my education. I am currently on disability but would like to earn my own way of income. I am asking for help to complete my goal of graduating from college. In my family I would be the first to graduate from college. In fact, my son has graduated from college (while serving our country, this was the only way we could afford his education) before I have finished school. The degree I am trying to obtain is a BS in Biology, BS in Forensic Science and a minor in Chemistry. I am willing to work a salary earning job (which I am also trying to obtain while I continue my education. In order to do this, I plan to enroll in the Organic Chemistry course of three quarters and the Physic course of three quarters and one DNA processing course of one quarter. The cost to complete this goal totals $15,000.00 (should the amount either increase or decrease, I shall update this information). I intend to obtain a salary earning job in order to support myself during this time. As you can see, we are a family that is willing to work hard to succeed and give back once again. I am not asking you for a hand out but a hand up. I am a woman who has had to sacrifice in my past in order to give my children the best I could. I am a diabetic with Fibromyalgia. I have gastro paresis and have been in and out of the hospital at least every three weeks. I have nerve damage to the nerve in my stomach. I have had to leave school for the last year and a half. I started the year of 2011 taking twenty different medications and ended 2011 only taking seven medications now. I have worked hard this last year and intend to be more aggressive in 2012. I believe that each day gives a person a chance to take one step forward and one step is still a forward motion. I realize there are days that one step seems impossible, but I think it is up to me to take that step. I appreciate the advice along the way, but it is my path to walk. I have come to the conclusion that sometimes we need to reach out to others. I am a giver and I feel uncomfortable about asking for help then it occurred to me that maybe some of those people I gave to have been waiting for an opportunity to give back. I believe that we may not be able to give back to that person because of death. You can still give back to the universe and I know I am part of that universe. Please take a minute to give. In order to assist me to achieve my goals, you can donate to a secure pay pal account under the name of: womanneedsurhelp. Contact me at: womanneedsurhelp@hotmail.com. I am interested in communicating with you if you have any questions. I believe it all starts with a conversation whether in person, electronically, or anonymously. I fully understand you are interested but would like more information, which I am happy to give.

Desperate! No job, yet a mountain of bills to pay

Posted by Baileyrabbit3 on 2012-01-24 15:58:27

Hello, I moved out of my family home 18 months ago to pursue a better life and career in a large city in England. Everything was going well until last December when I was unfortunately made redundant out of the blue. I have used the small amount of money I had to pay for December and January. I have had to start claiming JSA, but this doesn't even cover a quarter of my bills. I am now really struggling, falling behind on rent already and not being able to pay off the credit cards that I took out when I had a job. I know this is my own fault and that I should of been more careful with money. But I really have fallen in to financial hardship at this time. My phone has been cut off and I have had my ebay account closed due to not being able to pay ebay seller fees as I had to use the money for food. Thus meaning I can't even sell the very little amount of possessions I own.

I haven't got any dependents and I don't have any life threatening illnesses. I understand if you bypass me for someone more needy, but I would be grateful for anything you could spare me as I really am desperate. I have over £800 due to come out of my account next week and my overdraft maxed. I have no one to turn too. Please if you could, consider me.

Kind Regards, a desperate and worried young lady.

Please in Need Farm Equipment

Posted by achoco51 on 2011-11-11 13:58:08

Looking for help to start a business donating (fruits and Vegatable) to the homeless. Several years ago I inheritated a nice piece of farm land. I noticed all the people off work and the homelessness in our country and came up with an ideal to plant and give away the majoritey crop to families in need. About a quarter of 2-5 year olds and one-third of school-age children (including adolescents) are overweight or obese in the U.S. I'm hoping and praying for a miracle. I need farm equipment to get me started. The housing and homelessness crisis in the United States has worsened over the past two years, particularly due to the current economic and foreclosure crises. By some estimates, more than 311,000 tenants nationwide have been evicted from homes this year after lenders took over the properties. People being evicted from foreclosed properties and the economic crisis in general have contributed to the growing homeless population. As more people fall into homelessness, local service providers are seeing an increase in the demand for services. My goal is to donate my growing vegatables to homeless shelter and schools. (Please help me help the starving people)

Camaro? :)

Posted by wishfulthinking on 2011-10-25 01:58:35

So My dream car is a 2011 Chevy Camaro. The green one. Well, I would really love a customized green and purple hulk themed Camaro but i would 'settle' for just a green one. Or the 2012 Transformers Limited Edition Camaro. :D YIKES!!!!!! but yeah anyways..... So, I calculated it out to be around 50,000 dollars. Thats a lot right? Well, I definitely don't expect a fifty thousand dollar car obviously. (Hey I can still dream cant I) but the truth is I do need a car. Even though a Camaro would be nice. It is a bit out of the question. I am looking around and saving up for something small, good gas mileage and sturdy. Every little bit helps. Half or even a quarter of the price of a camaro would be nice. :) Have a nice day!

First PhD in the family in loan debt up to my eyeballs

Posted by hanna80 on 2011-10-23 18:58:05

I was told about the value of an education, but the joy of earning a PhD has been overshadowed by the over a quarter million debt incurred from credit cards, student loans, and a divorce. At 30, I am extremely overwhelmed and sometimes not sure how I haven't had a mental breakdown yet. I've calculated that if I could get 1 dollar from 325,000 people then I could actually have peace of mind again and think about the future more positively.

Need Help

Posted by Jza1973 on 2011-10-21 16:58:41

Hi everyone,

My family and I are going through a challenging time. In October 2010 our car was repossessed and I began to walk to & from work 6 miles each day. I didn't much mind because whatever you have to do to make a legitimate living you do hands down. Unfortunately I developed high blood pressure. That coupled by a chronic pain condition caused me to resign from my job. I did not qualify for unemployment because i quit even though I explained I had no transportation and the job required field visits which I couldn't make without a car. My husband had been trying to find work for two years after his job literally closed overnight with no notice. In May of this year we figured things were looking up. We've borrowed from family members, sold our dryer, jewelry, handbags , etc to our local pawnsmart. My husband got a job in May only to be laid off in August because a coworker made a costly mistake that cost the company their contract with delta airlines. He went to apply for unemployment and was told he wouldn't qualify until october when dept labor begins to look at the april/may/june quarter. Then we received a notice that since he didn't have that many wages for that quarter he'll have to wait until november and reapply. We don't have a car or any, so each time we need to go to dol we walk the 8 mile trek there and back. We have no family in GA where we live and friends seem to exist when you are not in dire straits. We spoke to our leasing company and said we would be late with our October rent. we've contacted one social service agency at the beginning of the month. My husband was interviewed and approved by the worker who said her boss had to sign off on the paperwork. when my husband checked back week later, he was told do not come back to the office we'll receive an approval or denial in the mail. now we have nothing. We've had to ask our local library for toilet tissue, scrape change for soap which is used for both body, dishes and clothing. we are both college educated, no criminal history, hard working adults. To ask for help is really difficult. Our rent is 550 a month. Iam really scared that at any moment we are going to be evicted. A donation of any amount would be appreciated. Thank you and may God bless you.

Sinking Fast...

I live alone in a apartment building for the elderly & disabled. So, that does make me the youngest person here. I have a rare form of Multiple Sclerosis. Can't walk to long or even see things.
I just got in the mail a bill for a hospital stay, that I could not avoid, for over $1,000. I don't have enough money to pay for any part of that. My car is falling apart. Without my car, my friend, can not get me to my appointments. Rent, food, & my medicine bite into my empty wallet.
Please help me. I am not asking for you to break your own bank. Just enough to help me. Every little bit helps. Even a quarter would help, if that's all you have to give.
Thank you, I believe that good things come to those who help others.

Full time working College Student

Posted by fullofhope11 on 2011-10-19 19:58:50

Hello all! Thank you for reading this. I am a college student and very close to graduating. I've been working full time since I entered college and have accumulated so much debt in the process. I've been able to pay about half of my tuition expenses thus far, but times have become tougher. I'm living in an extremely old and dirty bug infested apartment to save as much money as possible to put toward my bills, but it just isn't enough. Once I'm done with school, I will get a part time job in addition to my full time job so that money is not an issue. Right now, classes and my full time job require my full attention and time. I hope you find it in your heart to help me out, even if it is only a quarter or two. Every cent is greatly appreciated! If you are not able to help me out, I completely understand since times are tough for many. If I receive what I need to pay all my bills any additional money received will be donated to others on this site in need. Thank you so very much!

I have been working 36 hour work weeks and 24 hour school weeks but this new quarter only allows me to work one day a week. The bills are starting to pile up. Please help me, even if it's 10 cents. Adult Student Needs Honest Help

Posted by HardWorkingAdultStudent on 2011-09-16 21:58:13

I am a 30 year old nursing student trying to get my Associate of Applied Science in Nursing to become a Registered Nurse. I am making minimum wage working as a nurse aide, and it was difficult to even land this job. I have been on my own since 18, have always had low paying jobs, and simply cannot afford my monthly bills along with school bills, so have to keep dropping out of school every other quarter. I just need some financial help. I am honest and hardworking, and plan on becoming gainfully employed. I have no family to help me, I have no one.

I have no children and bad credit, so I get very limited financial aid. I feel like I will never graduate and it is frustrating because I am here, able, ready and willing to complete the classes, I just can't afford them.

I have medical bills from an unexpected surgery that led to an extended period of non-paid time off from work and that really hurt me financially. I pay all my bills and will never file bankruptcy, but due to my limited income and medical debt I have zero extra money for anything other than basic living expenses. I've been responsible enough to not have any children as I couldn't afford to take care of any, and it is very frustrating seeing single moms getting their entire nursing school paid for along with extra money back. I am honest and hard working and need some honest help getting through my RN degree. I feel ashamed asking for money but I am desperate. I would be grateful for anything and promise to pay it forward many times over once I graduate!
