Family Help

Posted by mama1971 on 2012-05-21 10:58:17

Our problems began in 2010. My husband was injured on the job that he was doing although he has severe health issues. After getting injured he was later fired. At this time he is pursuing disability and we have workers comp suit in place. In the mean time we are currently living day by day. I work part time and have been trying so hard to get a full time position. My daughter in a freshman in college and my son a freshman in high school. My daughter made an adult decision and got pregnant. She is an awesome girl and abortion isn't an option for her. We are doing everything we can to add room to our home. We had an unfinished bonus room that we would like to complete for the baby since her room is only a 10 by 10. We are very simple people with a real need. We just want to get caught up or ahead somewhat on our bills. What makes this different is we would like to pay it back to anyone who is willing to give us a break. The disability takes time as does the workers comp suit. We are hard working people who only want what is best for our family. We are looking at around 3 to $5,000. As I said If the lender is someone local I can work for it also. I can clean or cook. We will take anything that is offered. We just need a little help. Thanks so much for reading.

Hardworking college student trying to get by

Posted by Danleverett on 2012-05-12 13:58:12

Hello everyone
My name is Daniel, and I recently decided it was time for me to go back to college and get a good job. I have worked construction my wole life, but now I am pursuing a career in communications. Ei started college with next to nothing saved up and a full time job to help with the bills. I realized it wasn't going to be enough so I started looking for online ways to make money. I sold almost everything I own on eBay and realized I was still short. So I discovered online surveys. For those of you that have never done online surveys for money, don't. Every site promised to make me money and the only outcome was my old email address had to be shut down because I was receiving thousands of emails per week. I hope someone out there understands that times get tough. I spend 400 dollars a month on rent, 150 roughly for gas and electricity, the rest goes to cover fuel, my insurance, phone payment, and sometimes when there is something left I eat. If I wasn't a cook at a restaurant I would not eat at all. I'm tired of struggling all the time and if I could just get a little help now I know I can turn the corner. When I finally start my career I will donate money to people in need just like me, because I know what it's like to struggle and want. I'm only asking for enough to get by. Anything at all helps and I really do appreciate it.

Medical Student Without Family Support

Posted by MD_to_be on 2012-05-06 01:58:24

As hard as it is, here I am. I'm currently a medical student in Philadelphia, and have been able to support myself ever since graduating high school until now.

My family has never had much money, but I have never been the type to accept that as an excuse to not excel in the areas I could. I'm thankful for the perspective that it has given me while watching my peers live stress free without them realizing how lucky they are. They're all great people, but they just live their lives on financial peaks, whereas I've always lived mine in the valleys.

The costs and time commitments that are required or pursuing my dream are astronomical. I have borrowed what I can in student loans, but unfortunately they don't cover all of the necessary fees. For instance, we are required to buy car in order to be able to get to all of my clinical rotations, not to mention pay for board exam fees and prep courses.

I'm here looking for what little help might be available, and I desperately look forward to the time when I am able to come back here and help as many people in unfortunate circumstances as I can. Thanks for your time and consideration.

I'm in trouble!!

Posted by emmajay08 on 2012-03-30 09:58:38

I am a subletter in a very small, very cheap apartment. I am a month behind on rent, and now, $575 is due on Sunday. There is a grace period of a few days. If I cannot come up with the money, I will have to move out, and I have been advised to try the local homeless shelters. I am terrified.

My church has helped me with food and some other basic needs. I am pursuing a medical degree (NMW/FNP).

I pray someone can help! Any amount! I am saving every penny I earn and find, and have been earnestly and diligently looking for a new job.

Need help paying Tuition!

Posted by FLstudent on 2012-03-28 23:58:35

Hi,
I've always been the type of person to work hard to pay for things myself, but I just can't manage on my own anymore, and hate that I have to ask for help. I am pursuing my Master's degree and with the economy being so bad, the financial aid that I get from the government has diminished. I have been getting about half the financial aid for tuition that I need. I am desperately trying to finish my Master's but if I can't pay my next tuition bill, I will have to drop out. I'm a good person and work hard and have been on the Dean's list every term, I just need help finishing my last year of school. Please help! :(

Hello,
My name is Sherron. I am a lesbian female who is currently a full-time student pursuing my B.A in Criminal Justice. Two months ago my partner proposed to me and what I thought was suppose to be the most beautiful day of my life is turning into a nightmare. I had to have surgery and didn't have the time off and ended up loosing my job. My partner is also a full time student and works full-time to support us. We are suppose to be getting married (AUGUST 4, 2012) and if I hadn't started the process and sent out invites I would just cancel until we can afford it. My parent were suppose to help but once they thought about me marrying a woman they quickly bagged out. My partners sister was going to help be then she was deployed to Afghanistan. Which left us stress and crying thinking maybe this is a sign. But I am a true believer that this is my soul mate and that we were brought together for greatness. I have cut back on my wedding sooooo much but still in the need of $5,000.00 I know that people can not give me all of it, but whatever anyone would help me with I will forever be thankful to you. Please help us, we are a young couple deeply in love trying to get our feet into the surface to be great advocates for this world.I thank you in advance for anything that you can give to help us.

Need help affording gas to get to work!

Posted by songbird on 2012-03-07 08:58:20

Beglist, after much pursuing and determination I have finally found a good job. It is with a government company, and as such, I do not get paid until the 15th of the month. I have maxed out my cards to pay for gas to get to work, I just need maybe $10-$20 to help me until payday. I have NO money, if I spend anything at the pump I'll start getting charged fees for not maintaining a minimum balance. I just need a LITTLE bit to help me get by!

Need Help To Stay In School

Posted by studenthopeful on 2012-03-05 11:58:02

I guess I'm one of those people that keeps on trying to get ahead but I can't seem to roll with life's punches. I live in a very economically depressed area of the country, and I haven't been able to find work for almost two years now. I've been living off of student grants and loans while I attend a local community college pursuing a degree in Paralegal Studies, but the money is about to run out. Please send anything you can to help a guy stay in school and make a better life for himself. Many thanks.

bring my baby home!

Posted by bringbabyhome20 on 2012-02-27 15:58:33

Hello, usually I'd be much too proud to beg and if it was only me, I'd only eat 3 meals a week in order to just save any dollar I make doing odd jobs, but I have a 4 month old daughter to support and because I couldn't scrounge up the money to pay the electric bill, I have no heat. So for almost a week now, she's had to stay with my mom and I don't see any other way to bring her home other than on the kindness of strangers like yourself. I'm not just some bum who wants to get rich without working, I've been actively pursuing jobs for the past 2 months and just need a little to hold my family over. Every bit helps! Thanks in advance.

Not getting by

Posted by stressed_mom on 2011-12-22 21:58:05

Currently our debts exceed our income and we are living paycheck to paycheck. My husband works two jobs and I have one. We have two fantastic daughters. We cannot get by and the creditors are aggressively pursuing the debts we owe. This month has been most difficult because we are still behind in rent and face possible eviction. Any amount you could donate would be extremely appreciated.

982.07 to go back to school

Posted by mama_meya on 2011-12-20 09:58:21

My name is Meya Acuna and I am writing you in hopes that you can (or lead me to someone who can help) help bring a Christmas miracle to pass! I am really putting my faith out here because this is something that I've never done before, but am in desperate need. I am a 30 yr old stay-at-home mother to a 4 yr old and 22 month old and am 5 months pregnant. Having turned 30 I have had a revelation that I am in need of continuing my education to not only help my family financially but to be an inspiration to my children who will one day wonder why I did not live my dreams and get a degree in education.

Over 10 yrs ago I began on the right track attending TCU for a semester but with no funds saved up for college it was soon apparent that I would not be able to finish. Much to my despair, I left Ft. Worth and began living out of my hurt by getting into drugs, lascivious living and just keeping bad company. It wasn't until I met my husband, a PK (or preacher's kid), that I realized what I was missing and that I did have hope and didn't have to carry around the shame and anger at not being able to finish school. I stayed home and worked while he got to go out and travel the world in a Christian band, living his dream while I helped to support us and when he got off the road we decided to begin a family. Well no one told us how hard that would be especially financially and I soon left work to take care of my children because the cost of daycare was too much for us (almost 1200 for the two of them!). My husband lost his job earlier this year due to a bad truck accident that left him needing two surgeries and us on public assistance. But we moved to Seguin and he was able to start work at TPS thank God. It doesnt pay all our bills but we are so thankful! We also moved back here to begin work on a ministry with a focus on our youth. We are big volunteers at our church, always making ourselves available to what needs to be done for not only our families but our community. Most recently we've assisted with our youth at the Daddy/Daughter Dance sponsered by the SPD and the Blue Santa wrapping days. It has been hard on just one income and in the past 2 years we have moved 5 times with our children finally settling in Seguin. I am from Austin and had never lived in a real community of people before. I love it here! Everyone speaks to everyone and it is not so rushed. I'm in awe of how a community is supposed to be! Parades, Holiday Strolls, wow!

This past two weeks we have done things we have never had to do before like seek help from Community Council and Salvation Army for utility assistance and visit the EATS food pantry. I'm thankful they were there but I just never thought in a million years I'd be needing those types of services. This is also what pushed me to go back to school. I need to do something bigger than me to feel that I've accomplished a legacy for my children. I won't let them suffer worry and fear the way we have recently. But I need help.

I'm pleading with you to please help me pay $982.07 to Texas Christian University before January 1st for a Loan that I owe. If I pay this loan off by then I will be free to attend a university with Federal funds to attend classes and began pursuing my Associates Degree in Early Childhood and ultimately a Bachelors in Education. I plan on getting a teaching certification and giving back to the community that helped me by working in a low-income school here and sharing my story through hard work that people helping people can make a difference in someone's life. Again, I'm not asking you for money for me or my family or Christmas presents or any "thing". I am looking to pay directly to TCU in Ft. Worth. None of the funds would go to me. I trust that what we need as a family my God will supply, because He has kept us this long and it's only going to get better. Please be a part of this transition out of a dry place into abundance. I'm humbling myself today by doing this and I trust that if you can or know someone who can, you will help me. Thank you for your time and consideration and I look forward to sharing a good report!

Urgent Help is Needed!!!

Posted by acarter on 2011-11-03 21:58:59

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my story. I was released from the company I was employed with for 2 years. I have been looking and going to various career fairs in hopes of securing employment but with the current Job Market I haven’t had much success. In pursuing a degree I have been plagued with financial difficulties in paying for school. I have a significant amount of student loans from my time as an Undergraduate and Graduate Student. Know I find myself in a financial strain now that I am out of work in a tough economy. I have been doing odd jobs and Temp work to pay bills and eat but still need help especially with the student loan debt that runs over a hundred thousand dollars. I am unable to receive unemployment anymore and don’t know for how long I will have with my temporary job. I don’t know what else to do but ask for help. I have always held a job and worked hard in life so this is very difficult for me to ask for help in this manner as I never thought I would find myself in this situation. Please know that any contribution you make will be a blessing even if it is only a $1.00. Thank you for whatever assistance that you can provide.

I am a single working mother of 3 currently pursuing my bachelors degree. I am working fulltime and attending college all the while being a fulltime mother. I am receiving no help from their father, but I do have a pending child support case that was postponed until late December due to his lack of cooperation.

In the meantime, it has been financially challenging for me to maintain my household. Besides the necessity of rent and utility bills I am solely responsible for childcare, food expenses, medical bills, transportations, clothing, etc. Despite the difficulties, my children are not aware of the hardships that our family facing.

Help Pay for Graduate School

Posted by BusGradStud on 2011-08-26 22:58:41

I'm a 25 year old woman who is just finishing up her Masters in Professional Studies. Right now I have about 48,000 dollars in student loans and am about to incur another 10,000 this year alone.

My husband is just now going back to school and I am pursuing my PhD in Management and Organization. It's all about passion but the problem I have is paying back my student loans. I would love some help and assistance in getting my loans down a good amount so a few dollars here and there would be great!

Thanks.

Working on going to school in London.

Posted by LondonGal17 on 2011-08-06 17:58:51

Hello,
Thank you for taking some time out of your life to read this. I am currently a High School Senior in the US, and will be graduating around June. I am pursuing a career in fashion design, and will love* to achieve that in London. With constant mocks and jeers from family/friends about becoming a fashion designer, it is hard to get any support from them. I am currently working a part-time job, and is constantly helping out family issues at home. Since my mother sacrificed to focus on her children instead of going to college, I feel that I need to make something of myself. Yes, making it in the fashion industry is difficult, but with the motivation and devotion to make it big, I believe I will be successful. People always look at me and laugh, because they think that I won't be the next big iconic fashion designer. But take a moment to think about it though, did people know from the beginning that Coco Chanel, Gianna Versace, Chistian Dior, or other fashion icons would become so successful? With that said, being able to study abroad in London will definitely give me a fresh new start of a whole different world and lifestyle. And with all the negativity I've been living in throughout my life, I feel it's time for a change of environment and to further my knowledge in fashion. I am currently working on my application for London College of Fashion. I really feel that I can make it in the industry and will love to show others who doubted me that you can make dreams come true. So please, any amount of donation will gladly be appreciated and used for the real intention for furthering my education in London. Again, thank you for your time.
If you are willing to donate, please contact me at

I Need Help For My Business.

Posted by Hopeful1 on 2010-12-15 04:58:58

I am a woman who's seeking financing for a small online beauty supply store. I need $5800. to be used for inventory, supplies, fixtures and operating expenses.

I have worked in retail sales and management for over 24 years, and I take this business very seriously. I have managed other people's stores from top to bottom, and I am fully capable of running my own.

Having this business, will allow me to create an opportunity to employ myself, employ others, and become self-sufficient again. That's important to me, because I have been out of work for over a year.

Lack of adequate transportation is what has caused me to be unemployed so long. That experience alone has ignited an awareness within me, of the importance in pursuing a more sustainable career path, where I am more in control of my income--rather than having my income be controlled dependant upon others.

Professionally, I have been struggling for two years, as retail management jobs have been very few in my area. Having this business will allow me to get back on my feet again, and provide a way for me to generate an income, so that I can be self-sufficient again.

I would TRULY appreciate serious inquiries

My name is Stephen Gitau and am currently a student at a Nairobi College(Nairobi Institute of Technology) in Kenya, pursuing a Diploma in Animation and Multimedia design. Am currently studying on a sponsorship program by an NGO known as Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation. The foundation caters for my Tuition fee for the school only. Other necessities e.g food, transport and accommodation are not catered for by the organization mainly since they do not have the capability. Am not able to provide for myself since am at school full time. I am also an orphan and come from an impoverished background. I depend on the remaining relative although there capabilities are also constrained due to their situations. I need about Kshs 10,000 every month to see me cater for accommodation plus food(in a hostel) and transportation to the school.
I need your help to raise this kind of money for the next month since what I had has already run out and I do not have anywhere else to get the money and am already having difficulties.
