Disabled vet needs help with home

Posted by emr428 on 2012-05-23 10:58:48

My husband is a disabled, retired Army veteran. About 10 years ago he purchased a camp in Maine that he planned to fix up and move into for his retirement. Unfortunately he has suffered flood damage twice, once he had flood insurance, or thought he did, but the insurance company refused to pay saying they hadn't processed the payment on the day he opened the policy and the flooding occured over the weekend so he was not covered! The second flooding FEMA came in and didn't bother going under the house so they only gave him $800! Both times the flooding destroyed all the insulation and a great deal of work. He now has to jack up the house, have a foundation put in, then level everything in the house. He cannot live there. He applied for an equity loan from the bank as the property is valued at $139K and there is no mortgage. But we have moved to Nevada as I was offered a job here that paid better than back east. We want nothing more than to get this house fixed up in Maine so we can either sell it or possibly retire there. Right now if someone was willing to give an equity loan of $40,000, we would take that instead of begging. Please consider helping us before this Maine house gets flooded again and we lose everything there. If each person who reads this can only give $1, it wouldn't take long to reach our goal and then we could give back in the future!

Drained By Divorce and Bad Economy

Posted by downnout81 on 2012-05-19 00:58:23

A few years ago my wife and I divorced. I got stuck with her car payment, student loans, legal fees, and credit card bills. She was awarded our house, but because it was purchased under a VA loan, it remained in my name. She hasn't made a single payment on it in over two and a half years and it is now in foreclosure. My credit is shot. I am a union electrician and due to a bad economy I have been out of work for two out of the last three years. Things got so bad for me that I went over two years without seeing my children. A few months ago I was finally able to borrow enough money from friends to get an attorney and get visitation of my kids again. With all my ex wife's bills that I am responsible for, plus child support and my own cost of living, I am unable to stay afloat. I am drowning in debt and the stress is taking a toll on my body, as I have been gaining a great amount of weight. I know the economy is bad for many people, and I am ashamed and embarassed that it has come to this for me, but I am turning to the many good samaritans that I know are out there and asking you for your help. I am a good person and when times were good for me I always helped the less fortunate when and where I could. Now I, unfortunately, am the less fortunate and I need your help. Please show me that there are still generous and caring people out there and help me and my children out any way you can. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Deserving Musical Miracle

Posted by GuitarMom on 2012-05-08 23:58:23

I am seeking help to pay for my son's college tuition and associated fees. My son has been accepted to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. It is an honor for anyone to be accepted to this esteemed institution, however my son's story is quite exceptional. When he was 10 years old, he nearly lost his right arm due to a post-surgical bleed. He was diagnosed with a bleeding disorder known as von Willebrands. He has been left with a disabled arm and hand. He only has use of his thumb on his right hand. His childhood was comprised of surgeries and infusions. When he was 12 years old, he asked if he could buy a guitar. He was so happy because he had seen Tommy Emmanuel playing guitar with a thumb pick on television. He purchased the guitar and began working on a technique to play. He can only use his thumb to pick the guitar strings and must hold his fingers in a special position so that he does not mute the strings. His goal since age 12 has been to study at Berklee. It is an honor to be accepted to such a fine school. Despite a severe disability he has been able to achieve this remarkable goal. Financing his education is going to be extremely difficult. Berklee is an expensive college and scholarships seem scarce. If you know of any scholarships that would be available for him please let me know. If you feel like you want to donate, it is much appreciated. Thank you so much for your time.

please save my family

I recently adopted my wife's son, using the money i would usually use for bills, under the impression i could handle the financial problem via working overtime and help from family. On the way home, our family van broke, and the 'help from family' came as fixing the van. That was two months ago, and trying to fix it on my limited income has failed (the overtime disappeared). So now, we owe on all our bills, our bank account is $800 in the hole, gas has been shut off, power has given us an extension until mid may (at which point it is all due up front, $300 just in power for two months!), our phones are shut off (which my boss found out yesterday and said get a phone of some kind in two weeks or you're fired), and lastly, the bed we purchased back at christmas will be seized. I know that sounds stupid, but it's a special bed for my back condition. I don't feel I'm some lost cause that will be on this site begging for money week after week, I just had some financial plans backfire...a one time financial plan at that. I did the math and have found that a total of $1500 will get me through this horrible ordeal and set my family and I back on financial track. I've already sold my car to pay the mortgage for two more months(leaving us to struggle on just one van), please help me not loose any more! any and all donations are greatly appreciated!

We seriously need some help, our electricity will be turned off May 2nd, our rent is due May first and the late fees are $25 per day after the first with no max. Our house is total electric so no heat, air, refrigeration, hot water, or ability to cook once the electric is off. Our credit isn't good enough for anything and the only option is payday loans. We keep having garage sales, however it only provides enough money to get staples (bread, milk, butter, a little gas to get back and forth to work). Like many others I have a job, but it keeps us just over broke. Not enough to deal with a crisis. In one week we learned my mother and father were trying to live off $35 a week. My mother eats a bowl of cereal in the morning and a $1 banquet meal for dinner. She takes care of my ailing father 24/7 who has Alzheimer's. So we decided to make a 10 hour ride one way to go see what we could do to help. We gave them what little extra money we had to fill a deep freezer and pay off a loan with crushing interest! While away we learned that my wife's stepmother is dying from cancer. She has stage 4 lung cancer and isn't expected to make it past the end of the year. We need extra funds for my wife to be able to make the 1800 mile trek to her hometown in NY so she can have the opportunity to say her last goodbyes. To top it all off we purchased a car last year through a company known as JD Byrider, a buy here pay here bad credit dealer with an extra perk, for all the extra money you spend on their vehicles they offer a warranty during the term of the loan. Our JDB car blew a head gasket, this should be covered under terms of the warranty. We had the car towed to the dealer for them to make the necessary repairs. The shop said there was nothing wrong with the car, it just needed an oil change, and it was running fine. I promise you a car that won't do over 60 mph floored on a straight stretch of highway ISN'T fine. So we were forced to trade it in, which cost us an extra $5000, making us negative in our bank. Along with all of this is the need to take care of our three children at home, and constantly having to buy diapers for our grand daughter because her parents can't find work and welfare doesn't give enough cash assistance to keep diapers all month long. We are selling everything we can afford to in order to get out of our current situation, but it won't be enough. Right now we need $725 to make rent and $206 for the electric bill. I can spread other bills out over the course of the month, but these two are critical. We have enough food and just enough money to cover gas for the next two weeks. I am willing to provide services for any donation made. I have very good editing skills, and have helped students go from a D paper to a B+/A- paper without changing the content, merely correcting spelling, punctuation and structure. Any help provided will be greatly appreciated.

PLEASE HELP. URGENT.

I recently purchased a house and I truely love it. After the bills started coming, I was ok for a while and now I am living paycheck to paycheck. I have to get 2 major projects done and I am begging for help. My roof is falling apart. Just started leaking. It is going to cost about $5000 to replace. I also need to get my driveway replaced. It is so bad, I can even drive on it anymore. That is going to cost about $7000. I do not have the money for either of these. any help you can provide will help. Thank you for reading.

New Roof Direly Needed Asap: Health & Safety Concerns

Posted by Rhiannon213 on 2012-04-20 08:58:45

When I purchased this home back in 2004 after finally getting away from an extremely abusive marriage, all I could see was that the price was right and that I would finally be safe - hundreds of miles away from my now ex-husband. As a single mother of 3 children on a limited income, I saw how I would be able to live completely mortgage and rent free. I didn't however see the major repairs that this house required - nor did I have the money to make such repairs. Over time, of course things got worse - and it brings me up to the point of where I am today.

The roof on this house is so badly deteriorated that it is leaking very badly in the downstairs bathroom, dining room, kitchen and front door areas. It has leaked so badly that now mold has started to form in the bathroom ceiling and the drywall has slowly been falling away on the one wall. The slightest wind and you will find shingles blown off and laying on the ground. The roof is so bad that I am fearful that even the boards underneath the shingles may need to be replaced.

Realize that this is my last resort in trying to come up with the funds required to get this new roof. I have tried applying to government grants for home improvement but unfortunately I do not qualify because 1. my property taxes are not paid up to date (I owe approximately $2000 just in property taxes), and 2. the size of the house is larger than the specified guideline parameters. Nor do I qualify for a loan of any sort as 1. I make a mere $200 a month working and 2. have bad past credit (being a single mom has taken some serious tolls on me - including financially!).

So the goal here is to get a new roof installed - and as soon as possible so that any further damage to the house is avoided. I also worry about the mold forming in the bathroom especially and one day the roof caving in in there. While my children have grown to teenagers now, I still have to worry about their health.

I have uploaded pictures and this story at Chip-In to show you the extent of the damage done especially in the bathroom area - and a view of the shingles as they are right now on the roof. Admittedly I realize that my house also needs some repair on the stucco, windows and such but right now my main concern is the roof. I'm surprised it hasn't caved in on me by now.

I thank everyone in advance for helping me with this. I do not normally like asking for help from anyone but at this point I am finding that I have no other alternative.

Please view photos of the damage, etc at my Chip-In page at http://escapetofreedom.chipin.com/imperative-home-repairs

Single Mom needs help with bills

I'm in the process of a divorce due to my husband's habitual drunkenness. He left me, my baby girl, and three dogs in a financial mess. He's in jail now and of course hasn't paid any child support. I need help paying my monthly bills. I have a mortgage, car payment, and he also left me with $20,000 in credit card debt. I have a job, but my expenses are more than I bring in. If you do not wish to donate cash, you can donate gift cards to gas stations, grocery stores, and visa gift cards to pay my bills. I will send you the receipts of what I purchased or paid for. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Hi! To anyone who can help. My boyfriend a vietnam vet past away last month. I stopped work to take care of him. He purchased a mobile home and there are monies still owed on the home. I have two kids which weren't biologically his, so I am not entitled to va benefits. He was a great guy and tried his best to take care of our family. If anyone can donate anything to help me at least pay the mortgage for the next few months, I can get back to work and try to take over the mortgage. I am praying for a angel or somekind of miracle. Thanks

Still recovering from flood

Posted by 6ewApp on 2012-03-04 18:58:16

I got over a foot of water in my house on September 8, 2011 from the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee. I live alone and I had just bought the house (my first) the summer before. A foot of water doesn't sound like a lot, but when you have no basement and it's a ranch home, you lose pretty much everything you own. I have gotten the house to livable condition so I can move back in (I've been living with friends and I've been in their way long enough) but there is so much left to do, and I'm out of FEMA money. And, no, my home was not located in a flood zone at the time of the flood, but I have since purchased flood insurance because I am not putting myself in this position again!

On top of this, I have over $50k in student loan debt, which Sallie Mae only let me defer 2 payments due to the disaster. Also, bank of America (evil!) offered no help with my credit cards or mortgage. So, Now I'm back on my regular budget, and can hardly save any money for the repairs and replacement costs.

PLEASE HELP a girl realize her American dream - to own a beautiful home and to take some of the financial worry out of her mind after experiencing a tragic event!

We need help with taxes

Posted by nt1962 on 2012-02-17 15:58:59

We desperately need your help! We are a small church located in an economically disadvantaged community. We own a house that was deeded over to us by a former pastor and are at risk of losing that property because of our inability to pay some past due taxes on the property.

The house was deeded to the church over 30 years ago by a former pastor of the church who had become ill and subsequently passed away. The house is not located in the same community as the church. (In fact, it is some distance away from the church, and therefore could not be utilized for church-related purposes which would have taken it off of the tax roll). As a result of gentrification in that community, the property values have increased tremendously. The property tax assessment for the property owned by the church escalated to staggering heights during the housing bubble.

Because of this the church has had much difficulty keeping up with all of the taxes on the property (a general tax, a school tax, and a village tax). The rental income from the property is used to assist the church with operating expenses, maintenance of all of the church properties, as well as paying the taxes. Finally, reassessment in the last couple of years has brought down the amount of taxes to be paid and we are better able to handle some of the current taxes due, but some of the older taxes were sold and consolidated in tax lien sales. The consolidation of the prior taxes due has hurt us tremendously. Numerous times the unpaid taxes were consolidated prior to our completion of raising enough funds to pay off some of them in their unconsolidated state. Individually some were $1,000 to $3,000 respectively. They have been consolidated totaling almost $19,000. We are not permitted to pay the liens individually which was viable, we have to pay them in total.

There is a holding company based in the community where the house is located which purchased those liens. That company is now a few months away from being able to begin foreclosure proceedings and take a valuable piece of real estate out from under the church. This would be devastating to the church.

The church has been in the process of trying to sell the house and use the proceeds from the sale to build a much needed new church building in the community it is located as well as to pay off those outstanding liens at closing, and to unload a property that was once a blessing to the church, but has long since become a burden. We don’t want to lose the property. We want to be able to sell it. We had some offers on the house, but at the last minute a promising deal fell through. Previously interested buyers, for some reason now, are less interested. We feel it is possible that there may some collusion within the community where the house is located to wait for the lien process to move forward and that potential purchasers connected with the holding company will be able to take the property and flip it to tremendous financial advantage, while leaving the church with nothing for thirty years of struggling to take care of the property.

It is important that we are allowed to sell the house and build our new church. We are in the final stages of making the new building a reality. All we have to do is secure the construction financing. Receipt of a commitment letter for the sale of the house is all that stands in the way of a 40+ year dream for the congregation. It would give us the down-payment that we need to move forward.

With the construction of a new church, we would be able to operate before and after school programs, have handicap accessible restrooms, and provide better services to the community. We have a senior citizens housing complex across the street from our church, and many of the residents would attend our church but they are unable to climb up and down the stairs to the single-person restrooms in the basement. We also operate a summer day camp which would benefit greatly from having more space in which to operate. We would be able to accommodate many more youngsters, many of whose families are unable to afford the other summer camps operating in the area. We have had to turn down prospective campers because of space constraints.

Our congregational makeup has changed over the years. The financial impact of that changed has been coupled with the severe impact of the economic downturn on our community. We have more retirees now on fixed income, youth, and small children, many of whom have young mothers, and some people who are working age, mostly with working class wages. We need to build a church to better meet the needs of our congregation and community. We operate a food pantry and soup kitchen which would be able to open more days a week with bigger pantry space and a modern commercial kitchen.

As I stated, we are in the final stages of the building project. We have our permits, plans, and contractor selected. We are ready to obtain financing. The congregation, which has always striven to do much with little, has invested much in this projected over the years and the sale of this property owned by the church is the one thing that stands in the way of it happening. Please do not let us lose this property just so a few people can make a quick buck. Help us to pay off these tax liens so that our church will be able to help transform an entire community!

Trapped Overseas

Does any body out there read these posts for other than entertainment purposes? If so, please Please read this entire post...it spans 3 months. We truly do need your help. This is one final update to my earlier post from 1/17/2010. My fiance has been unable to collect her needed travel papers from her hotel because she has been unable to pay her total bill. The expense has remained at $1500. She needs the money to pay her hotel bill, so she can retrieve her sale contracts. If anyone out there will help us pay the total bill, they will be reimbursed the total plus 50% more as a means of reimbursing you for your trouble.
Her payout for the property she has a contract on selling has been finalized, but she is unable to collect the needed paperwork her stupid lawyer gave to the hotel as a "payment guarantee". It sounds stupid, because it is stupid. I think this lawyer must have purchased his law degree from a "five and dime" establishment. Any of you out there who've had to deal with lawyers in foreign countries know exactly what I'm talking about here. They are sometimes not the sharpest knives in the drawers!!! And that's being polite!!!! Please help...contact me for more details on how you may do so, or just submit your paypal details here on the website, I guess. Not sure how this site works, unfortunately. Thanks for reading my plea.

My name is Dennis. In early December 2011, my fiance' traveled abroad to settle her late father's estate and to sell a large piece of property. When she went (at the insistence of her uncle), she was assured she would only gone for about 2 weeks because the property was supposedly a hot commodity. According to the family lawyer, who was acting as counsel for my fiance', the land would easily sell in 2 weeks. That was in early December. My fiance was sent overseas with very little clothing, very little money (the minimum to get by on for 2 short weeks) and she had no place to stay. She was not welcome to remain in the lawyer's home past a few days, since he had other relatives coming in for the Christmas holidays. She was basically forced into staying in a hotel which she did not have sufficient funding for. I have since tried to help but have completely hit the bottom of the barrel. I've sold anything and everything of value to try to keep up with the mounting hotel bills and her survival needs. Now the money has run out, I am unable to borrow any more. I have no family or friends I can count on to help and neither does my fiance'. The hotel manager has decidely made things much more difficult by seizing her passport and some important documentation and is holding her papers as hostage until she pays the bill. Until she gets paid for the property she is selling, which will be in the next 10 days, she cannot do anything but cry for help. (She is caught in a "catch-22) situation. She cannot sell the property without having her travel papers and the important documentation for the sale of her property. She can't get her papers back until she provides for payment to the hotel. She desperately needs a minimum of $1500.00 to settle the hotel bill and satisfy mounting living expenses. Please donate what you can. If you need to be repaid, she is willing to repay what she is loaned with some nominal interest applied. We will need to work that detail out later if required. Please, please, help. Thank you for whatever you can do.

Dissabled couple, married 49 years, and need some help.

Posted by willway on 2012-01-27 19:58:49

My wife and I have been married 49 years in May. We have always worked and are now living totally on Social Security. I will soon be 70 years old and my wife is 68.

We own our home(free and clear)and are not destitute, but we do need help.

We are both dissembled, My wife is on oxygen 24/7 and, due to nerve damage to both legs, I cannot walk or stand for more than a few minutes at a time. I manage to get around by hanging on to things.
As we get older there are some things that need to be taken care inside the house.

We have asked for help from our County to install new windows and doors that I have already purchased, and have had on hand for the last few years. I have checked with Habitat in our closest city and there is no help available in this part of rural America. The siding on the house is decaying badly and needs to be replaced. We also have siding and roof damage from a large storm here last spring.

We managed to get a kitchen remodel completed last year, by a handy man who owed me some money. This makes it much more accessible for my wife and I.

I have the tools and the know how, but my body wont cooperate.

I have never asked for help before, and have always been there for anyone that has needed help, but I am no longer able.

Thanks for reading this old mans long winded beg.

Sailing around the world.

In 2007 I purchased an old 1982 O'day 25 sailboat on Ebay. It needed a lot of work and I went about fixing it up and outfitting it to sail. I'll post some pictures in the future or email you some to show you. I re-launched her in June 2009 under her origional name; Shadubie. The plan was to sail around Buzzards Bay out of New Bedford, Ma until I was confident enough to sail or cruise longer distances until one day I would venture away for ever. It's sounds foolish, but it's my dream and slowly it has been coming true. As of 2009 I've sailed Buzzards bay and Narragansitt Bay and out to Green Port, Long Island. I'll be sailing all the Islands in the area for another year or two, But money has become an issue. So much so, that I may be forced to sell the boat, or even abandon it to rising marina costs. I am looking for funds to keep her sailing. This is a real great boat and it is strange to say that I've developed a love for her akin to having a girl friend. Anyone who has ever had a boat, and put in a lot of sweat equity into it, should understand. Any way, Please Donate what you can to keep Shadubie and me sailing. A buck for luck?
With your help,Some day we'll be sailing away, and around the world.

Need Help with Business

Posted by david3542 on 2011-12-27 03:58:52

I have been trying to get my locksmith business started for 1 year now. I do some work but there are lots of things i still can't do because of lack of equiptment that i can't afford now. Things have been tough with my wife having to have surgery and many other stumbling blocks this year i try to put as much as i can back it to the business. My wife thinks that i'm not charging enough sometimes for my services but in most cases i'm trying to help other though these troubling times. I'm not like some locksmiths that will rip people off but instead i want to help people out. I understand that sometimes you can lock your keys out of your car and you just can't afford to pay someone money you not really have to unlock your car. I know that when my grandmother was living that she had to use locksmiths to unlock her house door after she was locked out. I know that people on fixed incomes are getting rip off by some locksmiths. I want to help all the grandma's and grandpa's out there that need locksmith services with affordable services and work with them so that they don't have to worry about taking money from their food budget but they can still have security they need. I have got some equiptment but i need a code machine and other equiptment to do the job right and make my services more affordable. I am in need of around $12,000 dollars for new equiptment and also for concrete work to put up a building that i have had purchased for a few years now and have not had money for concrete work.So that i can use it for locksmith store. I would also like to add employees later if i can get enough work for them to do. God has been good in keeping our needs supplied during these hard time. sailor begs for the last inch...

Posted by sailorbob on 2011-12-12 15:58:55

I've dreamed all my life of crossing the oceans on my own sailboat. Something I could live on in each place I saw anew. I finally have saved for and purchased, a sailboat. She is one worthy of crossing oceans. Sturdy, strong, big enough to live on. But now it's been two years of laborious struggle trying to make her passage worthy, and now she is 90% ready to take me away. I've run out of gainful employment related possibilities, and money. I'm begging for donations to make the last inches of preparation happen while they still can. Please contact RRivit21@yahoo.com for details of my remaining needs and completed preparatory successes thusfar. I have no paypal account, so I would need to make other arrangements for any help recieved. Thank you.

Christmas Help.

Posted by AlhambraSafe on 2011-12-08 16:58:32

I honestly need help this holiday. My apartment was broken into this week and my children's Christmas presents were stolen. I have two children, ages 4 and 6. Among the other things stolen were misc. electronics, camera, flat screen television. The sad part is that they destroyed our tree. I don't understand who would do such a thing around this time of the year. I don't have much cash to replace the gifts that I already purchased. If anyone out there can help and maybe spare some extra change to help I would be very grateful. If you wish to donate please send this to paypal: alhambrasafe@gmail.com
God Bless for reading my plea for help.
It is too much to bear. I sold my home under contract to a black woman who turned out to be lying crack head. She refuses to pay me the 6,700 she owes me. I am so poor I cannot afford to file in court the 147.00 needed to go to small claims. Also the mobile home I purchased has 2 rooms gutted and unfinished. I need the bedrooms to have floors and walls. I have a 21 year old son with autism and get no help at all from county or social work, etc. I'm also trying to make my home suitable and finished so my granddaughter can come live with me. Her parents are neglecting her and I need a suitable room for her to live in. The home I sold was fixed by me and husband. We invested money so we could get a few thousand but we got nothing! We moved into the mobile home we reside in now but since the "buyers" have not paid, we are unable to finance any fixing the house desperately needs. Also, my husbands car dealership mechani's job got axed and he is looking for ful-time work. I was just given a job after neing out of work with uterine/ovarian cancer and heart surgeries for 5 years. We could really use a donated automobile, and the $6,700 that our "buyers" owe us. We can pay back if and when the judge awards it. We have real estate contract proving that they bought and they are clearly in default. We have always been hard-working people. I need a car to get to work now so I can earn custody of my granddaughter from her unfit father. Please call Kim Freeman at 610-703-1452 if you can donate a vehicle that runs well and any money at all.

Save My Life

Posted by sarah4602 on 2011-09-23 12:58:07

Hello, my name is Sarah O'Brien. Four years ago my mother was diagnosed with cancer. The doctors told us there was nothing they could do. She came home and suffered. Myself and my daughter lived with her and my father. She was my daughters best friend. We watched her suffer and die. It tore my family apart. We used to be so close but she was our glue. My father moved to Kentucky and remarried. My sisters and I barely speak and my little brother who also lived with them lives in a motel room now. I couldn't bare to see the house be sold so I purchased it. My daughter is so proud to tell people that she was born in this house. I worked for TD Bank for 11 years. I was a hard working and dedicated employee. Six years later a new manager arrived named Liz. She was an abusive maniac. Harassed and belittled everyone any chance she got. I couldn't take it anymore after 5 years of this. I was suffering severe anxiety and it was affecting my health. I went out on sick leave and have been struggling ever since. She is still there after several complaints and I am now losing my mothers house which I wanted so much to save. This house is all that we have left of her and all my childhood memories are in this house. Please if anyone has it in their heart to help I would forever be grateful. Thank you so much in advance! If you can help please email me at sarahobrien4602@comcast.net Thank you, Sarah

My family is being sued by an insurance company, Mom has cancer

Posted by asrobins on 2011-09-16 00:58:40

This is complicated, and I sincerely appreciate anyone who takes the time to learn about my situation.

In the spring of 2010 I sold my car to a coworker. He payed in installments, so I didn't want to transfer the title to his name until I had received full payment for the vehicle. I let him take the car before he finished paying because he told me he had purchased insurance for it. Well, he rear-ended someone and it turns out he lied about having insurance. Pretty soon after the accident he left town, and I never heard from him again. Now, the insurance company of the driver he hit is suing my family for $8,000.

The reason this is such a problem is because my mother is starting chemotherapy for breast cancer. She's already had surgery and the bills are starting to pile up already. We just can't afford to pay for this lawsuit, and if we go bankrupt I will not be able to finish my degree. I am one year away from graduating with a bachelor's degree in biology.

Please help me keep my life together. I'm so desperate.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, it really means a lot to me.

Hello, my name is Megan, my husband and I have two daughters, aged 3 yrs and 10 months. We were married and purchased our first home 4 years ago and since then have seemed to been hit with every curve life can throw! We were both laid off from our jobs within the same year while I was pregnant with our first child. And since have been struggling to find jobs earring enough to sustain our family, home and expenses. Through mulltiple car repairs on both of our vehicles, my husband suffering an accidental gun shot wound that prevented him from working for several months, and welcoming our second child to our family, we have fallen behind on our mortgage payments. My husband is now back at his job and I am starting my new job withing the next few weeks, the end is in sight! But we need a little help getting caught up on our house payments before we loose it! Please consider any amount to help catch us up and then we will have it from there! We will not be able to catch up with only our paychecks quickly enough! Please help us save our home!

Recently scammed Soldier looking to get out of debt...

Posted by Leci on 2011-09-08 22:58:30

Hello everyone. I am an active duty Army Soldier. Recently, I was looking for a loan to pay off all debt, go back to school to get my teaching certification and put a little aside into savings. Unfortunately, I have credit problems from college that still haunt me and hinder me from getting a regular bank loan. Long story short, I researched bad credit loans online, found a company which looked great, got approved, and got scammed out of a large amount of money I did not have. I took out many small local, finance loans to secure this one bogus loan and now I am paying on these six high interest finance company loans. I'm not making excuses. I was gullible, made a bad decision and am now learning a very expensive lesson.

I have a one year old and it breaks my heart when on the first of the month I only have $90 left before gas and groceries are purchased. On the 15th I only have $70 before gas and groceries. It kills me that I can't provide for my son the way I would like. I want him to have the world, and I can barely keep him diapered and fed.

I would appreciate any and all assistance that anyone can offer. Thank you for your time and God bless.
