We are a family of 3, me, my wife, and our 14 year old daughter. I am self-employed and run a publishing company, my wife is a pharmacy tech, and our daughter is a freshman in high school. My wife and I were arrested and incarcerated for contraband that was placed in our vehicle at the US border and we are currently fighting our case while maintaing our innocence. During this time we have suffered financial hardships trying to recover from lost income and paying legal fees. This month we are short on our rent by $600 and are humbly asking for any help we can get. Thank you and God bless.

In 2009, I was made homeless by Hurricane Ida in Virginia. That same year, I became disabled with COPD, sciatica and fibromyalgia. It has been a long, slow process of recovery,pain, poverty,and the accompanying humiliation. I have had to give up my car, my cottage, and my job.

However, thanks to the efforts of very dear friends and some self-made luck I finally have a stable living situation, and the strength to embark on a new career as a writer and self-publisher of Spiritual and New Age materials.
Writing is where I find my greatest joy, (followed closely by my painting) and my experiences have given me rewards of perspective that makes the challenges I still contend with somehow worth it. I'm looking to help others find the inner strength and hope that I found through my own crisis.

My computer, however, is almost 8 years old and between the "pages not responsive" and "Chrome has crashed", system crashes and stalls, etc it routinely takes me up to 3 hours to upload anything to the site. I have very limited energy, and this can take up an entire day.
The the age of the machine means that it is limited in terms of upgrades and networking.
I've learned and done all I can to keep it running this long, but now I need a new one if I am going to be able to do the kind of heavy-duty publishing and posting to make it in this field and become self-sufficient.
I am looking for $5,000+ to cover the following costs:
*computer
*printer/scanner/fax
*paper
*toner and ink
*website hosting for a year
*Domain Registration
*Non-profit status registration
*Dedicated phone line
*Art supplies for graphic design
*Photoshop software
*Print-on-demand membership for 1 year

Anything is greatly appreciated!

My own personal computer has died, and that is a problem as I run a small business (publishing/production company) and I'm a writer. These are about the only things I get any income from. I have a part time job but it is not cutting it at all.
If someone could donate $298 so I could get a replacement computer (using a friend's now), I would be forever grateful and be sure to pay it forward.

Hello, my name is Scott and I am here asking for help because I... have run out of every alternative to get my life and my project studio business off the ground. It's at a dead stop. I was laid off in March 2011 due to company downsizing, could not qualify for unemployment because the previous employers "claimed" I'd quit. Job hunted on foot in Chicago from March to August filling out 4-9 applications a day, 5 days a week without a single call from anyone. Exhausted all of my bank accounts, can not get a load due to not owning a car or home, had to sell my car just to pay off debts, lost my apartment because ex-roommate thought it was better to steal from me and lie about having a job than telling the truth. My parents are in the hospital, so they are in no shape to help me.

The only way I have been able to contact people is by relying on my girlfriend's Internet, electricity, helping her cook and clean while "guest staying" at her apartment but know this won't last. I ask too much of her help to watch my cat while I continue to look online.




All I ask is for someone, anyone who can help. My goal is simple: I need to raise enough money to start a art design, publishing studio which would bring in clients who need visionaries to help make their designs, commercials, products, books, ebooks, animation using the next wave of 3D technology, FX special effects for student filmmakers in Chicago colleges, to help bring in interns and show them the pros and cons to hone their skills, and finally bring together Chicago artists who wish to have their talents and skills to create extraordinary work for any and all who wish to see it.

Bottom line, I need help. Financial help. I don't know what else to do. I can't get a job, for whatever reason, I'm flat broke, exhausted from sleeplessness and stress. All I own is a laptop, some clothes, my wonderful artistic skills, (my undying determination, good sense of right and wrong, knowledge of computer programs, business sense, sharp humor and a kind heart to make my dream a reality. I really don't want to live under a expressway but if things don't change, it looks like my next post just might be my last.

For those of you who have read this and given some thought, please help by donating. Who knows, you might be lending out to the future "Industrial light and Magic" of the 21st century?

I am looking for some backing to help in a business venture. I am a songwriter in TN. that has had great feedback from publishing companies. The only problem is they want full production demos, and I am only equipped to do acoustic. I need someone who can help me purchase the equipment to give them just that. I can also use the studio to record other acts. I am not an amature, but with a family (wife and 4 children) I have to use what I have to support them. I will pay back any money lent with future royalties and money earned by recording the other acts. The payback amount can be discussed in full. Reciepts for all equipment purchased will be shown as proof. I have looked into different places to purchase what I need and the amount I am looking for is $5000. This will also help with small equipment that I may need as well as copyrights. This isn't just about me making money, we have plans in place to help others ( foodbanks, families in need, ASPCA, etc. ) once this gets off the ground. I have been fortunate enough to have been offered a two song songplugging contract with a major independent publisher/plugger on music row (which I will give the name of to anyone who can help). I am very lucky to recive this as I only have acoustic demos and they want full production, but they heard something they like. I stand a great chance of getting more songs plugged or signing a publishing deal if I can give them what they want. So I am asking (well begging really) for the help to set up my studio. It will cost roughly $4500 to get all the equipment I need (24 track recorder, guitars, drums, keys, mics, etc) which I will use to record my songs as well as demos for other bands for extra cash.Once again I will repay anyone who helps with monies made recording others and with future royalties. I will also provide proof of any equipment purchased and anything else you would like proof of.
