Banks, once far too anxious to give loans for over-priced homes to people who could not afford them, now turn us away for a much more reasonable loan that would actually lower our monthly expenses by almost 1/2. We now watch as wealthy investors snatch up the homes once financed by real families and foreclosed on. But in the time it takes to rebuild the credit we need to get financed, these moguls will have all of the properties and be renting them out to all of us who could not hope to own under these terms.

I dont have a 2 page sob story to go with my 'beg'. My husband and I both work over 30 hours a week, pay our bills on time etc etc but have never been able to save for a house of our own. The house we are currently renting has a hot water system in the roof which leaks and floods my hall way, a massive crack in my baby girls wall which lets mosquitos and bees into her room so she cant sleep in there at all, an airconditioner which leaks water everywhere, no drinking water to the premises which we have to drive 15kms to get any, mice enjoying living here with us and crappy landlords who do nothing to help fix anything. We have tried to rent at least 10 other properties (the area we live in is not very large) all of which many other people have gotten in before us, so the only option left for us in order to get out of this house is to buy one, meaning we need a huge deposit that we just dont have and wont for a very long time. Our main priority every pay check is to pay our rent and bills and provide for our baby and saving for a house just isn't feasable after these are taken into consideration. We desperately need your help! We are a small church located in an economically disadvantaged community. We own a house that was deeded over to us by a former pastor and are at risk of losing that property because of our inability to pay some past due taxes on the property.

The house was deeded to the church over 30 years ago by a former pastor of the church who had become ill and subsequently passed away. The house is not located in the same community as the church. (In fact, it is some distance away from the church, and therefore could not be utilized for church-related purposes which would have taken it off of the tax roll). As a result of gentrification in that community, the property values have increased tremendously. The property tax assessment for the property owned by the church escalated to staggering heights during the housing bubble.

Because of this the church has had much difficulty keeping up with all of the taxes on the property (a general tax, a school tax, and a village tax). The rental income from the property is used to assist the church with operating expenses, maintenance of all of the church properties, as well as paying the taxes. Finally, reassessment in the last couple of years has brought down the amount of taxes to be paid and we are better able to handle some of the current taxes due, but some of the older taxes were sold and consolidated in tax lien sales. The consolidation of the prior taxes due has hurt us tremendously. Numerous times the unpaid taxes were consolidated prior to our completion of raising enough funds to pay off some of them in their unconsolidated state. Individually some were $1,000 to $3,000 respectively. They have been consolidated totaling almost $19,000. We are not permitted to pay the liens individually which was viable, we have to pay them in total.

There is a holding company based in the community where the house is located which purchased those liens. That company is now a few months away from being able to begin foreclosure proceedings and take a valuable piece of real estate out from under the church. This would be devastating to the church.

The church has been in the process of trying to sell the house and use the proceeds from the sale to build a much needed new church building in the community it is located as well as to pay off those outstanding liens at closing, and to unload a property that was once a blessing to the church, but has long since become a burden. We don’t want to lose the property. We want to be able to sell it. We had some offers on the house, but at the last minute a promising deal fell through. Previously interested buyers, for some reason now, are less interested. We feel it is possible that there may some collusion within the community where the house is located to wait for the lien process to move forward and that potential purchasers connected with the holding company will be able to take the property and flip it to tremendous financial advantage, while leaving the church with nothing for thirty years of struggling to take care of the property.

It is important that we are allowed to sell the house and build our new church. We are in the final stages of making the new building a reality. All we have to do is secure the construction financing. Receipt of a commitment letter for the sale of the house is all that stands in the way of a 40+ year dream for the congregation. It would give us the down-payment that we need to move forward.

With the construction of a new church, we would be able to operate before and after school programs, have handicap accessible restrooms, and provide better services to the community. We have a senior citizens housing complex across the street from our church, and many of the residents would attend our church but they are unable to climb up and down the stairs to the single-person restrooms in the basement. We also operate a summer day camp which would benefit greatly from having more space in which to operate. We would be able to accommodate many more youngsters, many of whose families are unable to afford the other summer camps operating in the area. We have had to turn down prospective campers because of space constraints.

Our congregational makeup has changed over the years. The financial impact of that changed has been coupled with the severe impact of the economic downturn on our community. We have more retirees now on fixed income, youth, and small children, many of whom have young mothers, and some people who are working age, mostly with working class wages. We need to build a church to better meet the needs of our congregation and community. We operate a food pantry and soup kitchen which would be able to open more days a week with bigger pantry space and a modern commercial kitchen.

As I stated, we are in the final stages of the building project. We have our permits, plans, and contractor selected. We are ready to obtain financing. The congregation, which has always striven to do much with little, has invested much in this projected over the years and the sale of this property owned by the church is the one thing that stands in the way of it happening. Please do not let us lose this property just so a few people can make a quick buck. Help us to pay off these tax liens so that our church will be able to help transform an entire community!

Looking for help to start a business donating (fruits and Vegatable) to the homeless. Several years ago I inheritated a nice piece of farm land. People being evicted from foreclosed properties and the economic crisis in general have contributed to the growing homeless population. Help me keep my Rottweiler. She was a gift from my husband who passed away in 2006. I've been disabled since 2005 due to a musculoskeletal illness, so when my husband passed we lost our home to foreclosure and had to move in with my parents, one of whom is disabled and both are in their 70's. Beg your help to save my life

I am 53 years old businessman from tiny island of Sri Lanka. I started my business in 2007 after retiring from a leading solid rubber manufacturing company (Trelleborg Lanka PVT LTD Swedish own company) where I worked as the manager procurement for good 13 years. I am B.Sc graduate and diploma holder of rubber and plastic product manufacturing.

At the beginning my business, natural rubber processing industry was a success. I even renovated whole plant which was more than 50 years old and purchased two trucks to transport raw materials and finished goods to and from my facility. My trouble started in latter part of 2008 due to global economic down turn. Prices of our finished product, processed natural rubber ( Brown crepe ) declined rapidly in a space of few days thereby incurring heavy losses. Somehow I did managed to dragged my business till 31st march 2009 despite heavy losses. I provided 55 direct employment for very poor peasants in rubber growing area in Sri Lanka.

Due to heavy debt and pressure from my creditors I had to close down the factory and sold it out at very low price to settle my workers dues and some debt. I even had to handed over my vehicles to leasing company due to my failure to settle due installments in time

Ultimately I ended up with Rs. 8.5 million loss ( Approximately US$. 85,000) . Now I lost whole my earning for past years. Some of my creditors filed court cases against me. Some are putting pressure on me to settle their dues. They even posing death threats . I have been mentally and physically abused by my creditors everyday since closer of my plant. Police at the complain of my creditors may arrest me for default. Now I am in dilemma. I need police protection for safety of my life from death threats. At the same time police want me to settle my creditors debt as some cheque issued to creditors were dishonored.

I do not have any saving except my provident fund. After toiling hard for last 30 years, I earned around 3.5 million rupees ( approximately US$. 35,000) . At maturity, when I turn 55 it will be Rs. 4 million. I will get around Rs. 1.5 million as inheritance after selling of my parent properties (House where I live now. My share is 1/6 of the total value). Those wealth can be accessible only after another two years.

As I do not have fixed income nowadays, I am unable to overcome my difficulties without help of charity or donation. Legal expenses and my medical expenses aggravate my misery. My life now totally depend on sympathy of my age old friends. One provide shelter and the others provide meals. Now I am like a beggar although do not beg on the roadside.

I wrote several letter to relevant government organizations for compensation or bailout package, but nobody looked at it as government in short of money for that kind of compensations. I wrote to parliamentary ombudsman as well. All were in vein. Local red cross society replied to my request saying that they do not have mandate to give financial help to individual although my case is worthwhile to be considered.

Although I have taken all the insurance covers needed for our industry, like workmen compensation, fire. Flood, storm and tempest , burglary, personal accident, consequence lost cover could not be obtained due to nature of our industry. I put forward claim for US$. 75,000 but was not entertained due to nature of our industry.

I am looking for a help to settle my debt and restart a business. I can offer my EPF and inheritance as security. But those would be matured only after 2 years. House can be sold out only after flood situation due to unplanned development is permanently arrested by local government in our area. Otherwise a buyer can not be found. I'm a 37 yr. old man with a family that includes me,my wife and 4yr. old daughter.I also have 2 daughters from my previous marriage that I pay support for and take every weekend.2010 was a year long downhill spiral for us.First I lost my job of 6 years due to a company shutdown.I was told of the closing the day it happened.We were already struggling to make ends meet and my wife had just started back to school at night for nursing.After going on unemployment my wife had to stop school to pick up more hours at work.We had to take our daughter out of daycare which meant she had to stay home with me which put me at a big disadvantage for looking for work.However,I can't tell you how many times I've taken her to put in applications and even on some interviews.Believe me,it does'nt help your chances of getting a job showing up with your 4yr. old to do an interview.I finally did get another job only to be laid off 3 weeks after I started.This meant I was'nt there long enough to apply for unemployment.This was over about a 7 month span in 2010 and over that time we fell further and further behind.Luckily I was able to work off a good bit of rent by doing work for our landlord at night after my wife was home.He had alot of properties and I'm a professional painter/handyman by trade.Then in August my landlord came to us and said he was selling the house and we had about 45 days to move.He also refused to help us financially in anyway to make the move and even kept our deposit stating,"I filed bankruptcy,sue me".We found a program that helped us secure another apt. and we moved within 30 days.After we moved in we found out the apt. was infested with mice,ants and other insects.The new place was a nightmare.We found out the young man living under us was physically abusing his girlfriend almost every night as we had to listen to this every night and my daughter witnessed several acts of abuse in the hall and driveway.Continuous phone calls to the property manager and police resulted in nothing being done.These two would break and smash things,yell,swear and slam doors that shook my whole house and broke things on my walls.After about our 5th call to police and the manager we woke up to 4 flats and all our windows broke on our car.Then another couple moved in across the hall from these 2 and this man was physically beating his girlfriend and doing drug deals in front of our house.3 days after they moved in our apt. was broken into and we had several things stolen,including every new toys and clothes we had been buying little by little for my daughters Christmas.It was'nt much,but it was all we had for her.Alot more went on there everyday and I knew we had to move but we had no money.I ended up posting an ad on craigslist and asking people for help and we found someone to let us move in with no deposit or anything.We were forced to move a week before Christmas.Christmas morning we had 3 presents for our daughter,all from toys for tots.Now we're in a new apt. with no way to pay the next months rent or much of anything else.My wife's hours were cut almost in half due to downsizing and cutbacks,I am unable to find work and I don't know what else to do.we don't even have a phone for potential employers to call.I use a free voice mailbox and then have to go to a payphone to return calls if I can find change.We've had to sell anything we had of value over the past 4 or 5 months to semi-survive.We have a car that someone donated to us and I was just told it needs about $2,000 worth of work.Neither my wife nor I have any family still living.We do receive foodstamps and are told that's all we're eligible for here in Mass.We also go to foodbanks every week.I actually tried panhandling 3 times and once I was arrested,another time I was beaten up and the last time I made $12.00 in 10 hours.I don't know what to do.It's gotten so bad the last two months me and my wife have discussed possible temporary(hopefully temporary),foster care for my daughter.I can't imagine losing my daughter for any period because we don't have any money for a place to live.It's tearing my heart out to have to write this.We are very good people.We've always worked hard,have never drank or used drugs and done our best to be good,honest people.We just need a little help.Anything anyone can give will help.Be it a dollar or two or even 50 cents.PLEASE HELP my family in anyway you can.May GOD bless and keep you all.

iam sinked in debts due to losses in business. I have to clear the debts and start a new life again. i sold my properties and cleared some of the debts.
