We are currently finishing construction on a 2.7 million dollar building that will be used as a community center here in Houston to assist with underpriveliged children, to assist in outreach to other homeless individuals,to function as a auxillary primary school, and to assist as we are able with other community needs. Through generous donations from our neighbors, we have built the entire external structure (approx 1.44 million) leaving only a little more than 1 million dollars left to complete the construction. This is a near and dear thing to my heart, as it's location in Northside houston in a impoverished community would mean so much to helping others in and around the houston area. This community building is sponsored by a local church, which has donated the first several hundred thousand dollars, and we are looking to complete it by November of this year, IF possible. All donors (if they ask) will be given a tax receipt for thier donation, as the organization is a 501(c)3 registered non-profit corporation. In 2005 I got retrenched from the platinum mine were I worked and with the state that sa's economy is in I've struggled to get a job ever since and my savings are running out. I saved up enough money for school but now it turns out I don't have money for living expenses. I get a work permit in November 2012, but by then I won't have any money for next year. The expenses for each of the two years is $17,000, and I saved up just for one year. I need help in making ends meet. I have been looking for work on campus and it's not working out since I was told to wait until August and September for cleaning jobs and restaurant jobs at the school. All the tutoring jobs I have applied for on campus have not materialized so far.

If I do not finish this school, it is over for me. I spent many years in the US in school since 2001, and it resulted in nothing because they didn't give me a work permit, and they did not allow me to stay.I got two bachelors degrees from there but since I did not have citizenship or a green card, I had to leave.

I have other on going problems such as loss of sight in one eye but then that is something to be dealt with when I finally finish school, it is not as urgent as getting the money to pay for school. No matter how badly everything else is going, even with my mom being sick and my being unable to send her money for treatment, school comes first even though ideally it should not be that way.

I have been involved in community service for many years. I worked with DC Habitat for Humanity on a house construction project. I also worked with refugees from 2010 to 2011 before I had to leave the US, I was tutoring English through International Rescue Committee. I am currently working with the Food Bank where I am, and over summer since I will have no on campus jobs, I plan on getting more volunteer jobs so I can give back to the community. It enlarged it and over time I developed heart failure in 2004. Then I became diabetic in 2005. The staph also destroyed bone in my chest. I had to have my sternum removed. I also developed irregular heart beats leaving me dizzy most of the time. This left me disabled on Social Security and medicare (which I appreciate but dont like being on "the system .. its wrong). Before this I always work 60 to 100 hours a week. Which also contributed my poor health. In 2008 I had my second heart attack (a minor one). It was actually lucky for me. Doctors installed a defibrillator with pacing technology. My dizzy spells were finally under control. Since then I have been working hard to build strength so I can go back to work and have a normal productive life. My car ..is no longer road worthy. Needs about $2300 in repairs. Now I have trouble making appointments to my Cardiologist, primary care Physician and physical therapy. This year i have missed 6 doctors appointments and had to stop all therapy. I also have trouble picking up medication on time so i go with out them sometimes up to a week. I get $1500/mo from Social Security. $96 of that goes toward medicare insurance premium. My rent is $500/mo. My medications are $400/mo and that is with prescription help. With out that help my meds are $1476. My utilities run $400/on average. The rest I spend on food, car insurance and medical bills ($3000 which i pay $25 to $100/mo when i can). I am asking for any help. If I don't get help my health will continue to decline. I will die within a year or two. I just starting gaining muscles back in my legs and arms I still have a long way to go. I need to get cardiac therapy to make my heart stronger. It isn't something I can do at home because I need to be monitored the whole time. Please help. Time is important I have already lost 5 months of therapy and i am getting weaker. I beg you. Please.

My car .. 1996 Chevy Corsica is no longer road worthy. Now I have trouble making appointments to my Cardiologist, primary care Physician and physical therapy. This year i have missed 6 doctors appointments and had to stop all therapy. I also have trouble picking up medication on time so i got with out them sometimes up to a week. I didn't realize how important my car was until i couldn't use it. I get $1500/mo from Social Security. $96 of that goes toward medicare insurance premium. My rent is $500/mo. My medications are $400/mo and that is with prescription help. With out that help my meds are $1476. My utilities run $400/on average. The rest I spend on food, car insurance and medical bills. Other than socks and underwear I have not bought any clothes in 15 years ... nothing. I am asking for any help. Most important i need to get a car or fix my car which needs $2300 in repairs. Exhaust, brakes, bodywork and a windshield. If I have wheels I can finish getting back into shape and work to take care of everything else. If I get the help I need from here I PROMISE when I go back to work I will come back here and help people DOUBLE the amount of help I got. Unfortunately if I don't get help my health will go backwards. I will die within a year or two. I just starting gaining muscles back in my legs and arms I still have a long way to go. I need to get cardiac therapy to make my heart stronger. It isn't something I can do at home because I need to be monitored the whole time. Please help. Time is important I have already lost 5 months of therapy and my legs are getting weaker and i am getting weaker. I beg you. Please. But if prayers are all you can give I will appreciate that also. I am a 48yo male. I have had a heart condition since i was 21. About 15 years ago I went for heart surgery and got a staph infection in my chest. I was in the hospital for months fighting this and was told I would not live. I am lucky to be alive 15 years later. However the staph damaged my heart. It enlarged it and over time I developed heart failure in 2004. Then I became diabetic in 2005. The staph also destroyed bone in my chest. I had to have my sternum removed. I also developed irregular heart beats leaving me dizzy most of the time. This left me disabled on Social Security and medicare. Before this I always work 60 to 100 hours a week. Which also contributed my poor health. In 2008 I had my second heart attack (a minor one). It was actually lucky for me. Doctor installed a defibrillator with pacing technology. My dizzy spells were finally under control. Since then I have been working hard to build strength so I can go back to work and have a normal productive life. Hello every one, sadly like many I have hit a hard spot financially, due to being on disability. I do not get enough to both pay bills and buy food on, So I pay bills to keep my roof, but I have not enough to buy food for a month, also I have collage debt that has swelled to ruffly $25,000 due to not having enough income to pay it off, I am looking to go back to School, but I need to pay the debt off, also I need help with paying for food for the month of March 2012, I only need $100 for food. The food is as of right now my primary focus. If anyone could help me with the food, and if at all help me with the debt, it would earn my eternal thanks. I am a single mom trying to take care of a son who has a mental disability, and trying to keep another son in college..thier father refuses to be a part of thier lives..In June of 2010, the man I loved and planned on spending the rest of my life with passed away with bone cancer. I was his primary care giver. We thought we had more time to put things in order, but time ran out quicker than we thought.He was my support, mentally and financially. When he was in the hospital, dying, his family made me leave his house, which he had told me I could stay in,,but since the wedding had not taken place yet(wedding date was in July and he passed in June) I had no say so..ever since I have been struggling to keep afloat, taking care of endless hospital stays with my oldest son,and trying to pay for his medicine and trying to keep my youngest in school so he can have
a future.I've barley made the bills,but am finally to the point of my utilities being cut off, and haven't been to the grocery store in over a month. Please someone find it in thier heart to help me get on level ground..I work for the American Red Cross, 60 hrs a week, but just isn't enough lately.I found an in home business that could bring me more income,doing marketing, but to make it work, I need about 2000 to gain traffic..All I want to do is keep us going, my boys depend on me, I'm all they have..
