College student about to be evicted with nowhere to go

Posted by jlm814 on 2012-05-15 21:58:11

I’m a 21 year old college senior double majoring in English and Mass Communication, and I need help.

I have been living on my own for two years and working very hard (and struggling) to make it. I pay my own car note, insurance, tuition, and every other bill associated with my living expenses. This month, my rent is late and my apartment manager has already filed a notice for eviction. However, she said if I can have it paid before I’m served the papers, I won’t be evicted.

I have nowhere to go if evicted (besides my car). My friends and family are unable to help because they do not have the financial means to do so. I have pawned everything that the pawn shops will accept and sold everything that I can.

I still need a little over $700 to pay my rent and the late fee.

Even the smallest bit helps.

Thank you so much for your time, consideration, and help.

I desperatly need gas money to start new job..please read and help

Hello. I lost my job when my daughter with spina bifida got severly burned at her fathers house and she had to go into the hospital. I had to call in less than 2 hours before my shift, and they said if I didnt show up for my shift I would be a no call no show. Im sorry but my daughter comes first. That was 2 months ago. I have been viligently looking for a job since, and finally found one. It is to start on may 21st. To answer eveyones first question, I have pawned my tv and wii to get gad money to look for jobs, and to get my daughter back and fourth to drs appointments, and to get myself back and fourth to drs appointments and surgery, as they are 95% sure I have breast cancer. I will know for sure this week. I tried to take out a title loan, but they wont let me due to no income. I am at the point where begging is my only option as I have no family or friends that can help. I have asked the labor workforce and community action, salvation army, ect, and they cant help. I am nit asking for it to be just given, just a loan til I get paid. If anyone can help, even 5 dollars, it would help. Thank you so much.

Family In Need of Help

I am caring for my 82-year-old mother. Even with her Medicare, we are overwhelmed with medical bills, plus all the things she needs that insurance won;t pay for. I have been out of work for over 8 months and have sold/pawned everything of value. We are awaiting approval for food stamps but it's a long process and we probably won't get much. Anything would help, 5 or ten dollars would be so appreciated.

Hello, my name is Tanya and I'm in a bit of a pickle. Due to working a minimum wage job that offers little to no hours (retail) and paying off all my bills, my bank balance is in the negatives at the moment. I pawned several electronics, and still did not have enough to bring me into the positive. Please donate if you can. I just need $100 to get back in the black...and thank you for reading this :)

Young and no money for food or rent

Hello,
Me and my boyfriend are both 21 years old. We just recently moved out to colorado together to pursue our lives. We arrived with a set amount of money and had a specific plan to buy a car and get into a house, but things turned upside down. We have been forced to spend what little money we have in a motel 6 with our whole life in suite cases. We have been here for almost a month now and we have no more money to give to them. We have been living day to day for the and struggling to eat. We are very scared and see no other outcome but to be forced out on the streets. We have looked for jobs but it could be weeks before either one of us can get paid. We have pawned most of the belongings we arrived with and have been left with only our clothes. We have searched and searched for someone with an available room but it's hard for a couple, a gay couple at that, to find an opportunity, much less a safe opportunity. We had a life and we are both living examples of how your life can be turned upside down in no time at all. We have no family to help out and we are in a new area that we are not familiar with at all. We don't know what to do and are beginning to think that our future, no matter how much of a drastic change and shock, lies in the streets starving for food. We only need enough to get us into a safe and steady home. We are both very kind people and have helped others as much as we can. Now we hope that we can receive the same kindness from others in our time of need. Please help us if you can and we will accept anything you can give, we can use every penny offered.
Thank you very much for your time, interest, and donations.

We are two college students trying to make it on our own. We are negative in our bank account with no way to pay for gas, our bills and our tuition. I have lost faith in our world due to the fact that the unemployment rate is so high and there is no jobs to be found. I have applied everywhere I could to get a job and I'm not having any luck I even went to College for an in demand job and can't even get a job in that field... All We need is 200 dollars to get out of the negative... We have pawned everything we owned... We have no family helping us. If you do help thank you so much! we will pay it forward by donating money to shelters or St. Jude's Children Hospital here in Phoenix, Az. you can send the donations to 3320 E. Charter Oak Rd. We arrived with a set amount of money and had a specific plan to buy a car and get into a house. We have been waiting on our tax refunds to come in but they have been late for about 2 weeks now and the IRS has informed us that we will not see anything for at least 60 days. We have been forced to spend what little money we have in a motel 6 with our whole life in suite cases. We have been here for almost a month now and we have no more money to give to them. Well....this is a new low

Posted by ohpressure on 2012-01-05 15:58:50

honestly, I am just struggling to eat and pay my bills. I have only been able to find temporary work off and on in the last 5 months, noone seems to want to hire full time. Ive sold and pawned nearly anything i had that had somewhat value. I don't have a long story. Spent a long time in a womens shelter, moved out 5 months ago to rebuild my life and doing everything I can possibly think of to keep my head above water. I don't expect much, just thought I should give this a shot. I am also an artist who is having pretty much the worst luck. I try to sell as much as I can but yea, I'm sure you guessed things arent going so well at the moment.

It's a long road we all travel. Some of us turn the right way,and some of us turn the wrong way.And then there's those of us,who no matter which way we turn.It all ends up like Shit.I just need a little help TODAY, so i can keep myself together with dignity, and with a roof over my head.I'm a 54 year old male just looking to keep the Gas,Electric,
and Water going.Lost my vehicle to mechanical problems in October, any money I had at the time went toward survival.I am on food stamps so I'm not worried about that, but that is all the assistance my local Government will provide me.I don't drink,
I don't do drugs,I have know credit, and have pawned what little I had to get to this point.I do have some pride left which I have had to learn to swallow to ask for help. Please help with anything you can. Thank you and God bless.

Going to be out on the street shortly...

Posted by renee198238 on 2011-12-07 09:58:49

If I dont come up with $300 by Friday I will most likely be out on the street. My brand new roomate suddenly decides she needs to move back in with her needy mother and packed and moved her things while I was at work Saturday. After scouring the internet and calling literally every person I know, I have found a new roomate who can move in but she cant move in until January. In the meantime I still have to pay December's rent or I'm going to be out on the street. I needed to come up with $600 so I pawned my tv and took out a payday loan but I'm still $300 short. The only people I have here are my friends and they're financially in the same position I am so they dont have it to loan. I really need a miracle, I dont really know what else I can do. ANY and ALL help is more than appreciated.

Desperately trying to help a friend in need

Posted by kafin13 on 2011-11-20 14:58:51

My friend is trying to save his brother. He was arrested and needs bail money - I know many will be turned off by this but he believes his brother is innocent and I trust him and want to help him. We have raised $3,000 so far and need $2,000 more - I have given $1,000 but was laid off 5 weeks ago so I have no more to give. My friend is a veteran who was laid off on Friday and has sold everything he has to try and get his brother out. His brother's wife has pawned her wedding ring and they have nothing left to sell - she is frantic with worry as they have 5 week old baby and she doesn't have a job while she cares for the baby. His brother has been beaten up in prison and they are terrified that they will get a call saying he has been killed. Please help me, help my best friend - anything you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Single mother needing food for family

Posted by JMB5714 on 2011-07-17 04:58:48

I am a single mother and grandmother. Both my daughter and grandchild live in the home with me. I work night shift so I can take care of my grandchild while my daughter goes to school and works(and she barely makes enough for her gas and diapers for the baby). We can't afford childcare, and being the baby can't speak in sentences we don't want her in daycare anyware.

Because I care for my grandchild during the day I can't get another job to help with expenses. Currently all of my check goes to rent, my car expenses so I can get to and from work, and my lights. After that I have nothing left over for food, usually just enough for about a weeks worth of Ramen noodles and some snacks for the baby.

I've pawned everything I can pawn. I have 1 television left, and that is what my grandbaby watches PBS on....so I can't pawn that! I'm losing my furniture this week...but thats neither here nor there, my concern is what is my family going to eat tomorrow. I can stand to lose a few pounds, but how can I look at them, especially a 2yr old, knowing they're hungry!

I also have to take our dog to the shelter because she's hungry as well. She has only had scraps from what little bit of food we had....I can't feed her either.

It's so embarrassing to be in this kind of situation. I look at my coworkers and wonder if they realize I'm skipping meals, that I have hunger headaches.

Anyhelp that anyone can give me would be so appreciated. $1 can buy almost 6 packs of Ramen noodles at Walmart! That would seem like a Thanksgiving feast right now.

Thanks for anything that you can do!

Please Help! I'm desperate!

I have reached a point where I have no choice but to ask for help or file bankruptcy. I am a very hard worker and have had a few unexpected expenses over the past few months. I had to change jobs last year because I moved to go back to school. My new job pays less than my old job and this has started to take its toll on my finances. I am working 1 full-time job and 1 part-time job and still unable to make my payments. I have been looking for a roommate for 4 months and have not been successful. I am behind on my car payment 4 months and they are going to repossess it next week if I don’t come up with $3,500.00 to catch my payments up and pay the late fees and penalties. If my car gets repossessed then I won’t be able to work and my other payments will not get paid. I don’t know what else to do. I have sold and pawned everything of value that I have but was only able to come up with $300.00. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me. I have always been the one to help others and put their needs before mine, expecting nothing in return. I just hope that someone out there will be generous enough to help me the way I have helped others in the past. Please if you can only give $1.00 that will add up.

Can't get a break.

I am married with 2 children. We have been struggling financially now for 2 years. My husband was made redundant twice last year with no redundancy payments. He was then unemployed for 3months. He has now started work again, but has had to take a large drop in wages-but at least he has a job. All through this we have continued to try and make ends meet. I have worked overtime when offered and we have sold or pawned everything of value we have. We have not had a holiday in 2 years and we rely on family to buy the childrens school clothes, but we are still struggling to keep on top of everything. We just need a break. We need money to pay off some debt so we can live.Anything from £2500 upwards would take a massive amount of pressure off. I am so ashamed that I have had to do this, but I now suffer from depression because of the stress we are under. If anyone can help we would be eternally grateful.

pride aside- we need help

I am a stay at home mom of 3 kids and a new baby, my husband works out of town in a different state for 4-5 days a week and it is costing us a fortune in gas right now for him to drive back and forth, he has to stay in hotels during the week because we cant afford to pay a security deposit on another apartment. We already lost our house due to the so-called "Government mortgage recovery plan", which is really a giant scam. Don't fall for it, they wont help you!
Usually my husband has to use most of the money leftover every month to pay to go to work, and the kids and I are barely scraping by. I just had a baby, I can't go to work we are always on the verge of getting the utilities shut off,we have pawned and sold everything you can think of. we are not irresponsible and we live very frugally, no cable tv, no credit cards, no fancy vacations etc. We just need some way to get ahead. I believe in "pay it forward", and I would be willing to do just that as soon as I can. every dollar. Im not asking for a million bucks here, just whatever you can spare.

Military Family in Need of Help

Posted by benjibabies3 on 2011-06-02 20:58:22

I want to start off with letting you know that this is very embarrassing to ask for help from strangers but I don't know what else to do. So here it goes.
My husband is in the Army and we have 3 amazing kids ages 9, 7 and 2. We have been married for almost 13 years and have what I like to call "The Picture Perfect Family".
We have recently gotten deep into debt and can't find a way out. This is a last resort to help dig us out.
I have not been able to find work since being stationed in El Paso, everywhere that I have tried requires you to know Spanish, which I do not. I have done babysitting to bring in money but the families that I worked for all moved with the military. Our money is gone as soon as it hits the bank going out to bills and not all of the bills get paid, they just keep adding up. When we think that we are finally getting caught up we get knocked back down again.
My Dad just passed away in January and we had to take out a military loan so that we could fly home. They automatically take out $200 a paycheck and that sets us back even further. Our mortgage check bounced along with two other bills so we have fee upon fee for those. That was just this month and doesn't count the others. The list just goes on and on.
I finally swallowed my pride and went to a food bank last week so that our kids had a warm meal only to be humiliated by the staff that worked there. I was told that since my husband is in the military that we should be financially able to pay our bills and not need a handout. Yes, we do get medical insurance and a steady paycheck but it isn't much. I have sold every unused item in our house and more. I have pawned every piece of gold that I owned and anything else of value. I have taken most of our kids toys to the consignment shop along with most of my clothes.
I am overwhelmed and don't know what to do. If you could help in any way our family would greatly appreciate it. Your help would go towards food for our family and hopefully some catch up on at least our utility bills.
We do not smoke, drink or do drugs. We are a kind and honest family.
Thank you for your time.

Falling so far behind that I am drowning...

I have tried for months now to find a job and after about 3 dozen resumes and several interviews I still have not even been able to obtain a minimum waged paying job! My husband and I live paycheck to paycheck on his income alone and still can not manage to make ends meet... We can not get assistance of any kind because they say his income is too high ... We have 3 kids living at home and its expensive to feed a full house hold. We have pawned everything we owned of value just to be able to eat... We are about 2 thousand dollars behind in bills and rent, cut off notices in the mail and a month behind in rent. Cann someone please find it in their hearts to help us? If we could just get caught up it would be so much easier to atleast maintane living costs.... Any help at all would be greatly appriciated... Thanks and Godbless!

HI My name is Cassandra,I am a stay at home mum of 2 at the moment we are really in trouble with the bills.
I got a job in December to help us, I was 6 weeks pregnant at the time I thought just until the bills are up to date and then i will enjoy the baby coming because i had a miscarrige the year before and i really wanted this baby due in july 2011,
my first day at my job the car broke down and it cost $140 to fix some cam sensor issue with the motor.
the second day of my job,I got pulled over for speeding I was going up hill and was going a little fast well the policeman gave me a $340 fine when i tried to start the car after receving my fine it wouldnt start I had to get it towed back to my car mechanic and that cost $70.00 and then the cost to fix the car was $400.00.
A week later we were told we would have to move out of our rental home that we had lived in for 5 years I found a house for rent pretty quickly a cheap house in a cheap area, the day after we moved in I lost the baby I was 8 weeks and had a ultrasound the day before and the baby was okay 173 beats a minute
the move to our new rental we had to find $1000 for the bond well we pawned every thing we had of value to make the money we needed and since then I have been only able to pay the interest payments, I just wish we could have in better than this,I am sick of the phone calls telling your electricity will be cut off if you don't pay?
But the worst thing is My mum is not at all helpful she actually laughs at how bad it has been and even says whats going to happen to you this week. She calls me not to see how I am but to see what has happen and then make a point of making me feel like shit...So I am asking maybe begging if there is anyone out here that can help me I would be so grateful we all would be if someone gave us a hand.

thank you for reading this Cassandra

I am so far behind on my bills I will not be able to come up with this amount of money in the time I have, and pay my rent and buy food. I made a horrible decision by pawning my title. If I lose my transportation I will not be able to get to work and will lose my job. As a result I may be homeless before Febuary. PLEASE ANYBODY THAT CAN HELP CALL ME 2563376596. Hi...I have always prided myself in being able to take care of my family...Some recent unfortunate circumstances have led me here...

My father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the end of March and passed away early June...He left a huge amount of debt and a house in forclosure...I live in another state and when he passed I spent my savings on trips to NY to help my mother with the funersl arrangements and take care of her...During that time, my brother and I found out that our mother had been cheating on our father for over a year and using his money to help fund her boyfriends cab company...When we confronted her she basically told us she wanted nothing more to do with us and that she only acted like our mother to please our father to get his pension money..She told us we were dead to her now and she never really loved us anyway...Since then my brother has been sent to Afghanistan again and I'm left trying to recover my losses...I'm trying hard to get back to where I was financially but it's not happening fast enough...I have sold and pawned almost all of my valuables to keep gas in my car so that I'm able to work and keep food on the table for the kids...I even pawned my wedding ring which really hurts me and I'm having trouble getting it back...I have $38 in my back account until next paycheck after paying all of my utilities...

I honestly am not asking for a handout...Just a little help to get my wedding ring back and continue to keep food on the table for the kids and continue being able to get to work...I am an honest dependable hardworking mother who just needs a little help to get through the next few months...

$1 donations to help me get ahead of the bills.

Hello, I recently got laid off from my only seasonal job. I am training for a new job right now, but I have $4,000 in unpaid student loans, $2,000 in credit card debt and no savings left. I recently pawned my deceased mother's gold charm bracelet... its killing me inside, but I had to do it. I don't know how long it will take me to get this job, I have to get a separate license, and even then, no guarantees. I would ask you for $1, I will, of course accept anything you can spare, your generosity means the world to me. Thank you.
