help paying past due rent

Posted by plm-n-need on 2012-05-15 08:58:09

Hello. Im writing this with my pride put aside because i've let the love of my life down as far as im concerned and need help in order to pay the remaining past due rent for this month. This is not easy for me to do because of the overwhelming feeling of failure that just eats me up inside. We have been together for more than 12 yrs now and we have always managed somehow to make it through some extremely difficult times. This women is an Angel of Mercy for those who know her and to her family she is simply the rock. She is 1 of 5 sisters, all having 2 children a piece, and to which all 10 children she has taken in under our roof for extended periods through all the years i've known her. She is the most positive and giving person I have ever met! I LIVE FOR THIS WOMEN and have always reassured her that I could never at any cost, no matter how tough things got, give her reason for serious concern or not be able to get us past any finacial issues no matter how bad it looks. Yes im feeling very sorry for myself because I was a truck driver and lost my job because of an accident that was my fault and where knowone was injured, resulted in a dollar amount that was too high for my company to retain insurance in order for me to continue in thier employment. Week to week we got by and then back in December the freight slowed and my checks that the bulk of our bills and all the rent came out of, was now barely making the household bills. We fell behind Dec and Jan rent and was given such a break from an understanding landlord and we caught up in Feb with every dime of our tax refund given to a thankful landlord but one that stated, from that point on, we must be on time. After all the struggle we went through and the extreme patients and understanding of our landlord....now i've lost my job! We have spent the first half of this month calling and talking to and submitting applications to so many programs for assistance but getting turned away with no solutions. We have no more time and if forced to moved i will have let down the last person on earth that deserves it. Our rent is $675 a month and sent $300 yesterday and it was everything we had. we need $375 and nothing more. if anyone can help, you will find knowone more greatful beyond words can trully express and any additional info needed for your consideration can be provided if requested. Thanks to all that take the time to consider any possibility for help.

Dentures Needed

Posted by blewis46580 on 2012-02-25 20:58:30

I am a single father of 2 boys. I took custody of them when their mother was un-able to keep housing up. I am in desperate need of dentures. I do work a full time job, but with the everyday struggles of bills, gasoline prices, food, etc. I am un-able to put any funds back for my dental health. I have to wear temporary filling material between both of my front teeth, because they have fallen apart. I have eaten on one side of my mouth for 4 years now. I was also one of the many patients from an ALLCARE dental scam. I do hope ya'll can find it in your hearts to help out a dad that is doing everything he can for his kids. Thank you so much, and God Bless!

To be the best eye doctor but no money for education

Posted by eyedoctor on 2012-02-19 04:58:38

Dear everyone,

my name is Kate, recently I have been accepted to an optometry professional school to become an eye doctor - optometrist. The school starts in August 2012 and ends after 4 years. However the tuition fee alone costs $34000 per year and the living expense costs $20000 per year. In total, I will need to have about $55000 per year and hence $250000 over the 4 years of my study. Due to my parents' low income, the bank cannot borrow enough money for us, they can only borrow us $30000 in total. Yes, this amount is significantly less than what I would need. I have dreamed of becoming an optometrist since my high school years. During my entire undergraduate years, I worked part time at an eye clinic. I was able to gain a good understanding of the optometry field as well as what it takes to run a private clinic. I learned how to interact with staffs, patients and doctors most efficiently to ultimately provide the best patient care as possible. While most people have uncertain future, I am lucky to be sure that becoming an eye doctor is what I would like to do in the future. It is my passion, my goal, and my life. It is my ultimate goal to be an eye doctor who takes care of eyes of the poor and the underprivileged people, both in developed and developing countries. In order to achieve my goal, I must become the very best doctor by receiving the best education. If one has such strong aspiration to do a great thing for the underprivileged, how sad is it to see that person's dream being hindered due to his/her poverty? Please help me reach my dream so I can further help out others in my future. Please donate any amount you wish to help me raise $250000 for my optometry education. Thank you so much for reading my message and helping out. Thank you.

Why i should like to be a medical doctor

Posted by Usman01 on 2012-01-25 01:58:36

I just finish my secondary education and i should like to study medicine in the university. I have nursed this ambition right from childhood. I can remember when i was ill and i was taken to a hospital when i was seven years old. I was fascinated by the activities and hospitality of the doctor who took care of me on my sick bed. He so much endeared himself to me that, there and then, i decided to study medicine when i grow up.
Medicine, as a profession, commands great respect anywhere in the world. Medical doctors are respected for being hospitable and kind. They are kind to their patients whom they tend like seedlings which must not be allowed to die. A medical doctor cannot afford to be unkind or cruel to his patients as to allow his patients to suffer. He must be genial, good-natured, hospitable and must have a good disposition towards his patients.
Furthermore, medicine is a business of saving lives. This make the profession to be regarded as the most noble profession in the whole world. If there were no doctors, many lives would be lost on daily basis. Doctors are professionals with adequate knowledge of all parts of human body and one cannot but be proud of belonging to such a profession. Doctors serve and contribute to humanity more than any other professional in the whole world.
In addition to this, the medical profession is one of the most lucrative professions in the world. It gives practitioners the opportunity to work for the government in the government hospital and at the same time engage in private practice. Therefore it gives the practitioners the privilege to establish their own private hospital and clinics thereby making it possible for them to make a lot of money.
Moreover, the medical profession gives one the opportunity to meet a lot of people. It makes one to be influential and popular because as a medical doctor, many people would want to be associated with you. A patient whom you have treated in the hospital would always remember how you help him and his family would forever be grateful to you. All these make a medical doctor or practitioner popular and influential in the society. Many people would want to respect him and his opinion on any matter in the society.
Lastly, a medical practitioner with a stethoscope hanging on his neck is always a good sight to behold. This has also endeared me greatly to the profession and i have a dream of hanging the identifying instrument of the profession on my neck in the nearest future. Medical doctors are always neat and they look resplendent in their white overall coat. This makes them respectable and the profession dignified.
Of course, i know what it takes to become a medical doctor and i am ready to do all it takes to belong to the medical profession. That is why i write to seek for your financial assistance to enable me actualize my childhood dream, a dream of becoming a medical doctor.
You're the last i can depend on because my parents are no more alive since when i was six years old. Your help will do a lot of good to my entire life.

Devastating Accident almost done us in anything would help

Posted by Livingonfaith on 2012-01-24 04:58:45

In July 2007 my husband was a passenger in a co-workers car; the co-worker turned left in front of a pickup and the car was T-boned directly on his side. The co-workers car was an older model with no airbags; the doctor said that if he hadn’t put his arm & hand up to shield his face than it would have been fatal. The subsequent and enduring “care” he has received via workers compensation (WC), for the grave injuries he sustained, has been appalling at best. This is just my personal opinion, based solely on our experiences since the accident, but I have concluded that workers compensation (that was put in place to protect the workers), is nothing less than an unethical, disingenuous corrupt system. They end up sending you to a doctor of there choosing and these doctors (who have "gone over to the dark side")cater to the insurance companies by writing lengthy reports downplaying any injuries (goal of saving insurance company money with zero regard for the patients well being) in exchange for more patients sent to them and guaranteed, probably higher than usual, reimbursements. All too often it seems like WC caters to those who abuse the system and discriminate against those who really are in need. The “timely” medical care my husband has actually been able to procure through this government supported system is a travesty leaving him with irreparable spinal damage and a life of pain to look forward to. The malevolent truth is, had this system acted in a timely fashion, equivalent to the expedient care that ANYONE else not on WC would receive, then something could have been done to improve his quality of life. Unfortunately, as it stands, due to the guileful delay tactics used by WC, it is too late to do much of anything to repair the injuries causing him pain. Clearly supported medically necessary needs have either gone unapproved or purposely neglected for months all the while he continues to suffer with intractable pain. It is just beyond my comprehension as to how these people can feel no remorse for leaving another human being in such agony. Due to WC neglecting to approve certain items we have had to outlay a significant amount of our funds for medically necessary items\services to help him do tasks that he could previously do unassisted.
Today he suffers unrelenting pain as a result of permanent whiplash, 8 herniated discs, and unacknowledged(despite films clearly showing injuries) unaddressed broken tailbone, ribs and pelvis. Nerve damage from the spinal injury has resulted in numbness in his extremities, frequent weakening of his legs and embarrassing incontinence among numerous other concerns - had these been addressed in a timely manner (much like they would have been if not WC injury) his suffering could have been decreased significantly thereby improving his quality of life. The most serious injury he suffered was the hip break (acetabuler break) the worse break possible - it was broken in four places. As alluded to previously, an injury this severe should have been stabilized by surgery - allowing it to heal properly and not leave him suffering in chronic pain. WC puts such demands on providers to cut corners in order to save money that, in my husbands case, his doctor decided to do absolutely nothing but send him home instructing him to stay in a wheelchair 100 % of the time for several months. This doctor did not follow up with an exam or x-rays to make sure everything had healed properly. When my husband tried to explain to him the degree of pain he was still in the Dr said hmmm that shouldn’t be and then said “I can’t do anything else for you…”. This Dr. was so engrossed with saving WC some money that he disregarded his patients plea for help- how dispassionate and cold. The way this physician treated my husband goes against almost every part of the hippocratic oath which he swore to uphold upon graduation.
After being in pain for years, with no help from WC when it came to pinpointing its primary source, we paid out of pocket for a film that revealed his pelvis had been broken in the accident. This was never discovered previously by the orthopedist, again, due to cutting corners to save WC money they didn't take the necessary films to do a thorough job. We have a hearing with WC before a judge in March to request approval of a doctor who can address his broken tailbone - regardless of the fact that he can hardly sit without being in excruciating pain WC has denied him access to a doctor to treat it.
Immediately after the accident WC paid for home care for my husband and I was his caretaker when they were not here. Once they stopped providing this in home care I had to take over caring for him in addition to taking care of our then one year old daughter. I soon realized that I could not work and take care of both of them so I had to leave my job to stay home. As a result of my loss of income we have used up every penny of savings and 401 K, that we worked so hard to earn. We had to purchase anything medically necessary for Randall that WC was denying or losing track of. In addition to all this bad news, he has had to go out on disability (10/10) due to the deterioration of his condition and as a result our income has been cut substantially. This leaves us struggling to survive with no savings and significant decrease in income. I am the primary caregiver of both my husband and 5 year old daughter and all I able to contribute financially is what I can find the time to sell on eBay and needless to say we are coming up short.
All of our credit cards have been turned over to collections and our house note is in default and I am terrified. My heart breaks for my only child my daughter who is just 5 years old - I want her to remember more than this devastating situation about her dad and what undeserved hard times we are facing. You can ask anyone who knows my husband and they will all say the same that he is one of the kindest, caring, and conscientious people they know. I know that he doesn’t deserve the heartache he is having to endure. He has worked hard his entire life, since the age of 15, up until he could no longer because of his injuries; and I know that prior to this accident he had saved and saved and was looking so forward to retiring and having fun times as a family. He hasn’t lost sight of those dreams but the money he had saved to fund them is all gone. Despite everything somehow he still maintains a positive outlook on life which makes him a much stronger person than I.
We all have faith that God will see us through this one way or the other but some days it is just so hard to maintain a positive outlook. We would be truly grateful for any help - do only as your heart leads you to do!
God Bless

I worked in a youth Mental Hospital. Many of our kids were getting hurt due to the way they intermix the type of problems and disorders these kids have. MRDD kids on the same unit with high IQ Behavior disorder kids with violent criminal charges from rape to murder. These MRDD kids are very low IQ and are unable to understand the manipulation that the BD jail kids are capable of.
This led to MRDD kids getting sexually abused, manipulated, and viciously attacked many times leading to hospitalization and even surgery to repair the damage. I started out sending emails to the director of the hospital and then on to the CEO. I was wrote off and dismissed despite the number of kids that were getting hurt. I was told that we had to take all kids of patients depending on who the market was paying for and we would just have to find a way to make it safe, then to make things worse they started to lower our staffing. When they saw that I was not going to let it go they fired me saying that I had broken some BS policy. They have been fighting my unemployment and now I am fighting to keep my home. I am also still fighting them in the local press and court but since I am seen as a whistle blower I seem to be unemployable at this time. I have no regret for this fight but I do not want my own kids to suffer for my decisions. We have no money for Christmas and my son smiled and hugged me when I told him I had no money for his birthday last month. I don’t like to ask for help but it’s all I have left. Thank you.
Hi. I cant believe I;m begging online. I expect no response to this, but view it as a place to vent. Good things just haven't happened to me for a long time. Here I go anyway... I am writing because I am in desperate need for help. I am a 35 year old single dad with a 9 year old daughter. Let me begin by explaining my situation. My former employer, in the building supply industry, went out of business a few years ago. The economy has not rebounded making building industry jobs scarce. I have since then put myself through schooling to become an emergency medical technician as I stand a chance at getting hired by my local fire department if the economy improves. I am aiming for a career change to get back into the work force. I had to change careers for economic as well as health reasons. Shortly after my company went out of business, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, a debilitating disease affecting the digestive tract. The disease caused me to lose 75 lbs (30% of my body mass) in 8 months. I have been proactive in drastically changing my diet and getting the proper medical care and medicine (Thank God for Medicaid).
Even with medical care, I am still sick every day but I am making the disease more manageable. I applied for disability and received a response back that my condition is indeed disabling, preventing me from working, but would resolve in a year. Hopefully it does, but it is classified as an incurable disease that leads to repeated surgeries in 75% of the patients diagnosed with the disease. On the flip side of that statistic is a growing hope that alternative therapies may work… but take time to custom tailor to the individual. They are also expensive and not covered by Medicaid or private sector insurance. I have spoken to a disability attorney who is ready to represent me if necessary. I am only seeking disability as my “Plan B” if all else fails. I want to become a productive member of society again. I do have a “Plan A”, but I have a LOT of obstacles ahead of me.
This has all had a devastating effect on my finances. Last summer my gas was turned off the day after my daughter’s heart surgery. The gas was turned back on based on medical necessity. As of this week, my gas is turned off again and LIHEAP cannot assist me. I can’t seem to ever have the “Timing” right to get assistance. My electric is also on the verge of being shut off. My home is in foreclosure but the bank has agreed to work with me if I can find employment fast. I have just received a job offer that I graciously accepted. I start in a week. Just before receiving the job offer, while biking with my daughter, I had a mini stroke which caused me to go unconscious while riding. I crashed, broke my ribs, clavicle, hurt my spine, bruised my brain and lung, received several stitches, etc.. I pray that my health stabilizes to allow me to work. My daughter lives with me in this house. I would like to save it from foreclosure mainly for her sake. It’s where she has grown up. It’s a few blocks from her school where I want to keep her. My adopted 9 year old daughter, who I love a lot, has a very difficult speech impediment and learning disability. She already has special education and speech therapy in place with professionals that have worked with her for many years and know her needs. It would be very difficult to have to move away and have to make her start over in another school. I love my daughter a lot and will do anything to provide for her a life that she deserves… with my own limited resources. I say all that to illustrate “in short” that I need help. I have asked relatives and friends for help throughout the year and they are “Tapped”. My church is also in the same situation. I have sold most of my possessions to afford my phone bill, auto insurance, and auto fuel. My daughter and I currently have Medicaid and SNAP food assistance.
My goals are to:
1) I need to rebuild my professional wardrobe. I have lost a lot of weight and consequently have been working on buying dress clothes for my new job. I am to wear solid black suits. I am a 44L with a 38” Waist and 34” Inseam. Size 14 Black oxford shoes. I will graciously accept presentable used items. I can buy 3 inexpensive nice black suits for $80 each. $50 for shoes.
2) I have to keep going to my doctors and maintain and improve my health. I have just been referred off for advanced level care. The travel expenses are going to be very high. I will have to stay overnight in a hotel somehow for some procedures.
3) I will have to afford to drive to work. I will have to keep myself insured and afford the initial cash outset for my first 2-3 weeks of work. I am traveling far to work and it will cost me about $125 a week in fuel. $60/ month in insurance.
4) I have to get my gas turned back on. I am looking at having to come up with an impossible $5000 to get it turned back on.
5) I just bought and installed an used electric water heater and dryer. I have no way as of yet to heat my house this winter.
6) I have to catch up on my $1500 electric bill. Hopefully I can do so or I will have to abandon my house and give up hope. I may have to move to a different state with different utility companies.
7) If I can accomplish the above goals in a short amount of time, I stand a very strong chance at getting my mortgage modified and staying in my home. I can then only have to worry about the basics of life in addition to my health and my daughter’s heart and special needs.
I am facing some tough challenges. I cannot do it on my own. I have nowhere to turn. I would appreciate any assistance or advice on where to go for assistance.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I appreciate your help.

In today's "progressive" world, the mantra is that everyone should get a fair shot. However, the reality is that this only applies to certain groups of people. I am not one of them.

I am a single, heterosexual, caucasian, male.

The hard truth is that this means there is little to no financial aid for me.

Despite these apparent drawbacks to my character, I am still making the effort to get through medical school in hopes that one day I will be able to truly give back to the community and make a measurable difference the lives of my future patients.

This being said, I would really appreciate any help I could get from generous donors.

Thank you.

Please help this PhD Student with her bills :(

I never thought I would ever have to beg for money. But at this point, I have done everything I can think of to try to make enough money to pay all of my bills while still going to graduate school, but now I'm worried I will have to drop out and go live back at home with my mom.

I have dreamed of graduate school my entire life and working on drug treatments to help those in need. I recently worked on a project related to helping patients that suffer from Graft vs Host Disease (a debilitating disease when the body rejects a bone marrow transplant). I want to spend my life indirectly helping people, which is why it is so important to me to get my PhD.

Please, right now I have mounting bills (I am $14,000 in credit card debt) and will only get a small stipend to live on for the next 3+ years (I just started my second year of graduate school). The school does not allow students to get outside work since we get a stipend, but I have been being paid under the table to tutor when work is available.

If you would like to talk, please email me at Bailey0505@gmail.com.

Thank you SO MUCH for reading my story.
Hello; I am a 44 year old woman with a recent spinal injury. I have a son with Autism who I care for. My goal is to obtain another vehicle in place of the one I lost, and tuition money for class at Northampton County College. I need to become independant again and feel like a person who contributes to society, not a victim of circumstance. I worked 12 hours daily for months with no off days. Now I am trying desperatly to find help with education tuition and obtaining a vehicle. My email is cardamomtea66@yahoo.com . I'm not a lazy person, just in a rough spot. Never thought I would be and thought I was too good to be in a pickle like this. Maybe it happened for a reason.I need to be in a better place to advocate for my son.I cared for my three children without child support from my ex and now I cannot lift patients. Also, my 2 year old granddaughter needs me to get a larger place to give her a room of her own. So, I need to get that degree and start working as a medical surgical technician.I want to help my family and I cannot unless I am better off first.

Hi. My name is Tiffinei and I was told by my daughter's oncologist that this site has helped many of the patients. Even with small things. My daughter was diagnosed with Wilms' Tumor June 2010. We treated it fast but my daughter Georgia, who is 6 is still fighting it. We go to chemo sessions once a week at a hospital that is almost 1 1/2hrs away (Duke Medical Center). I have two other children a girl who is 5 and a son who is 2. We are in dire need of financial assistance for our car (Our minivan is about to die. Since last june we have put almost 50,000 miles on it), things for my daughter when she does get to go home (sanitation companies that come in and spray the house) and other things that may come up that her disability can not cover. I had to quit my job. There father has no contact with them so it is just me and my kids. When I come up here with Georgia, the kids must stay with a friend of mine due to them bringing germs into Georgia's room. I am just in need of whatever you can send. We need home repairs and we are behind on bills. I get food stamps but Georgia only wants to eat certain foods and she is on a special drink that helps her with energy. They are five dollars a peice so it gets expensive. I have tried all avenues to get help and its been a turn down after turn down. I pray that someone can help us out because I dont know where else to go. I can provide documentation and you can call the hospital so you can see that she is a patient here once a week. We just need some help to take the stress off of this situation. Thank you for looking. If you email me at ameanclean@aol.com I can talk to you on there as well as send you pictures of Georgia and I that were taken a few weeks ago at the hospital.

In Need of Dental Work

Posted by AnnieM on 2010-12-03 15:58:58

I am a married mom of 4 young kids, and have always put my kids' health before my own. Unfortunately, after my youngest child was born, my husband's trucking company hit a rough patch and he unfortunately lost his business altogether. Even with my husband and I both working, he driving a truck for another company and me taking care of children from home, we have been barely scraping by. When it comes to whether my children or I would go to the dentist or doctor, I always put my own dental care on the back burner...and with four kids needing to see a dentist at full cost (we make too much for Medicaid but can't afford insurance) every six months, I haven't seen a dentist in years. My teeth's enamel was badly damaged by nebulizer treatments I received as a child. I fortunately have not suffered any infections from badly rotting and broken teeth, but I fear that very much. The pain is not yet as bad I thought it would be; I see broken teeth when I look in the mirror and think that it looks very painful, but fortunately I am only in pain when I drink/eat something that is hot or cold and occassionally at other times.

I am currently on the waiting list for new patients at the dental clinic of University of Texas at San Antonio. The major problem with the dental clinic, however, is that they require patients to commit to at least two daytime appointments a month, and often require that patients be available on short notice for appointments that are about 40 minutes from my home I cannot keep my job as a childcare provider while taking off twice each month for the extended period this would require, and especially cannot leave at short notice. But, Dr. Ngo, a dentist near me has office hours on Saturdays and in the very early mornings before I am needed as a childcare provider. If anyone is so kind as to offer me some money to put toward dental work with Dr. Ngo, he or she is offering me something quite priceless---the ability to restore my smile without depriving the families I work for of childcare. I would be so grateful for any donation, no matter how small, toward this endeavor. I plan to put small donations in an interest-bearing savings account separate from other household money to ensure that your donations go only to this much needed dental work.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and please have a great day.

Help to continue my education

I have gone into phlobotemy, and other blood related field (pick lines for cancer patients like my mom) in order to continue any further I must get vaccinations.

I was totally not expecting this (silly me), I can not find anything that I need free locally in San Francisco ( I have looked with documents of requirement from school I still have to pay for what I need). I have comnpleted my TB testing did not excpet for vaccinations to be so high. This is directly from the Colleges Site.

Immunizations
SF State requires that all students provide proof of immunization against Measles, Rubella and Hepatitis B.
Students who were enrolled in a California public schools for the seventh grade or higher on or after July 1, 1999 will not have to provide proof of immunization.
For complete information concerning immunization requirements and to print a copy of the proof of immunization form, please go to the Student Health Service.

The cost is Hepatitis B 75 dollars over 3 shots and Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) is 83.
They highly reccomend the Tetanus: Tdap ("Adacel"/"Boostrix") with whooping cough booster which is on special for 35 dollars.

I know this is a lot of money to ask for, but I would hate to lose all the money I have put into going back to school, and not be able to finish it because of shots.

I plan to so as much volunteer work as I can, for underfunded and needy faculities especially for women.

The total cost is around 300 dollars, I have my paperwork all filled out and stare like it is just going to magiaclly happen.

I want to go into the medical field to help people. I hope someone can help me help others, I see the hope in the future, just got to stick together till then

I have 12 credit hours completed. I just plan NEED help. Thanks for taking the time to read my wish and god bless.

Hello,

We are a non profit charity (Ovarian Cancer Patient Charity Project L.L.C.)donating to uninsured gynecological and breast cancer patients in need of financial assistance. All contributions go to the cause, and are tax deductible. We are in need of extra assistance to assist all the 19 women whom have requested financial assistance, and the others coming in every day. Can you help us, by donating or sponsoring a patient? We are not too specific, because any help will help us tremendously. If you can give us a hand in any way, the patients, their families, and our charity would be forever grateful! Please contact me as soon as possible, as this is something that cannot be put off. Some of the women whom have requested assistance, are homeless, some are terminal, or invasive as well as desperately in need of treatment to have a chance of beating this potentially deadly disease. Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to do great things. We hope you decide to help us with our cause. Thanks a lot. And were looking forward to hearing from you.
