Hi, I am a single mother of a 7 year old and a 9 year old. I was laid off of work in February when the company I worked for closed its doors. I receive unemployment but it is not near enough to cover bills. I have gotten extremely behind on my bills because my landlords have been very patient with me but I fear that their patience is running out as they have told me that if I can not get caught up soon than I will have to find somewhere to go. I fear that my children and I will end up on the street because I have no where to go. Please anything that you can help me with would be greatly appreciated.

Every month since I moved in this house with my two boys and my husband I have been very late on my rent. I had two eviction notices so far and I have only been here three months. Greetings, Me and my family are farmers located in one of the most remote and rugged regions of Himalayas in India where there are no access to roads or transportations. Our home and fields are situated over the mountain approx. 3500 feet above sea level where the weather is unpredictable which makes farming very hard and life unbearable. All the farm work is done manually by hand by the members of my family. We normally grow garlic in small quantities which we sell to sustain the family for a whole year. As there are no access to roads we have to carry the loads on our backs at times 50 to 80 KG to access the nearest road which is couple of hours down the mountain and is a back breaking process. Even to get small food items we have to be going through this exercise everyday for our survival. Our everyday diet consist of five or six rotis (wheat flour and water mixed and roasted like a pancake) with mostly dal (gravy made out of pulse) with occasional rice two times a day. At times we collect wild vegetables from nearby forest to supplement our diet. Because of lack of nutrition our health conditions also suffer many times in a year. Here even today babies are born in the house. Birth is supervised by one of the older village woman as there are no doctors or any qualified medical people. In cases of emergency we have to carry the patient on our back to the road and any medical attention can be gotten 15 kms further down the road. This has resulted in many deaths in past years with young and old.
Since last two years due to changing weather conditions and untimely rainfall our fields could not yield crops properly. We are poor farmers just scrapping through life trying to stay alive. Added to these problems last year three of my family members one of whom is a six month old baby had deteriorating health conditions which needed hospitalisation and medicines which cost us major portion of the money we could earn by selling our crop. Normally we earn about 50,000 INR in a year by selling garlic and we grow small quantities of wheat and corn enough to keep the family through the year. Due to these sufferings and extra expenditure am now in great distress to be even able to buy seeds to grow crop in our field to sustain ourselves. To have one morsel of food has become a nightmare for all of us and we are nine members in the family with two small babies of 8 months and two years. The future of our survival looks very bleak given the conditions and lack of health and finance to tend the field.
I would be highly grateful if your goodselves would consider me and my family a worthy cause to extend your help to us with 5000 USD which I can use to buy necessary seeds for the crops, few essential medications, a mule for transportation, fix the leaking roof of our home, do little maintenance to our field for yielding more crop and get me, my family andour field back on track as our field is the only source of our survival. We have lived on the Shanandoah mountain for about two years. We found a house cheaper than our three bedroom condo we did have in manassas. Which was a little over a thousand a month. Our three bedroom house now on the mountain is exactly a thousand a mth. Our ultilities aren't rediculous. In febuary my husband lost his job. He made good money. I was just finishing up suceeding CDL endorsment classes. Etc. To become a school bus driver. Which has been the only job for me that's come my way in a year. We absolutely love the schools here. Which my three children are in each this year. Thankfully my husband has qualified for unemployment. The state is helping us with food and medical insurance. We allready surrendered our economical car. Then our only vehicle motor blew up two weeks ago. My husband is great at fixing vehicles. We just don't have the money to do so. He wants to go to an auction because he's not for sure about putting a lot of money into our vehicle. Allthough at the same time. We are behind on our rent. Thankfully we are truely blessed with a patient and very understanding landlord. My husband has been fixing up things that have been going wrong with the house since he's been out of work. He and I both have a good chance at jobs. We just don't have a way to them now. Its mind boggling for the both of us. We only have our cell phones for internet. Fortunately our close friend is letting us use his truck that my husband fixed for him recently to use to get our kids to and from busstop morning and afternoon. This truck though isn't legal. Im a recently Divorced mother of three small boys. In DESPERATE need of help paying my rent. Im three months behind and now about to be evicted. My landlord has been patient but at this point he has grown tired. I fell victim to a lay off 6 months ago. I just finish my secondary education and i should like to study medicine in the university. I have nursed this ambition right from childhood. I can remember when i was ill and i was taken to a hospital when i was seven years old. I was fascinated by the activities and hospitality of the doctor who took care of me on my sick bed. He so much endeared himself to me that, there and then, i decided to study medicine when i grow up.
Medicine, as a profession, commands great respect anywhere in the world. Medical doctors are respected for being hospitable and kind. They are kind to their patients whom they tend like seedlings which must not be allowed to die. A medical doctor cannot afford to be unkind or cruel to his patients as to allow his patients to suffer. He must be genial, good-natured, hospitable and must have a good disposition towards his patients.
Furthermore, medicine is a business of saving lives. This make the profession to be regarded as the most noble profession in the whole world. If there were no doctors, many lives would be lost on daily basis. Doctors are professionals with adequate knowledge of all parts of human body and one cannot but be proud of belonging to such a profession. Doctors serve and contribute to humanity more than any other professional in the whole world.
In addition to this, the medical profession is one of the most lucrative professions in the world. It gives practitioners the opportunity to work for the government in the government hospital and at the same time engage in private practice. Therefore it gives the practitioners the privilege to establish their own private hospital and clinics thereby making it possible for them to make a lot of money.
Moreover, the medical profession gives one the opportunity to meet a lot of people. It makes one to be influential and popular because as a medical doctor, many people would want to be associated with you. A patient whom you have treated in the hospital would always remember how you help him and his family would forever be grateful to you. All these make a medical doctor or practitioner popular and influential in the society. Many people would want to respect him and his opinion on any matter in the society.
Lastly, a medical practitioner with a stethoscope hanging on his neck is always a good sight to behold. This has also endeared me greatly to the profession and i have a dream of hanging the identifying instrument of the profession on my neck in the nearest future. Medical doctors are always neat and they look resplendent in their white overall coat. This makes them respectable and the profession dignified.

I had posted first time ever a few weeks ago about my situation, my being ill and unable to work. A wonderful woman actually responded and donated 5$, which I was amazed, as I've never seen anything like this before. My main concern was feeding my son. Unfortunately, I got a letter from landlord saying if I can't pay rent on time (11 days past due now) he will have to sell the house. I thought food money was asking for a lot. My rent is $1050, 1180 with late fees. My son, daughter and grandaughter all live here with myself, so all relying on me.

I have finally filed for food stamps, and medical and SSDI and awaiting approval, to get back on feet, in the meantime, if we lose our home, there is no place to go. No family, definitely no money for first last and security to move.

Please, please, I beg of you, of anyone out there. Any and every bit helps and adds up. Even if I give him something, its better than nothing and he is a kind patient man who has worked with me through my illness.

I know now that I got the ball rolling with benefits, I will be able to sustain the family, just can't lose the home. I have been searching high and low for work to sustain us while awaiting approval. I always used to work 60-70 hours a week and hate not working. I have the pain under enough control to work here and there and willing to do anything at all legal. I'd scrub a toilet with a smile on my face just because I'd know I'd be working and sustaining us until everything is approved.

Thank you for reading this post. I am a breast cancer patient. I never thought I would have to resort to begging for money, but my cancer treatment used up my savings. I recently took out loans to pay up some medical bills related to cancer treatment. I couldn't take the calls from the hospital bill collectors anymore. I was only sixteen when my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. She was 52. As if Alzheimer's was not unfortunate enough, early onset occurs at a much faster rate than Alzheimer's in an elderly patient. My mother's condition has progressed to the point that she requires a full time chaperone. I am currently 21 and a full time college student seeking a degree in biology and while I would love to assist my family more, my studies often take up the majority of my time. My dad, a nurse, recognizes the importance of a college education and refuses to let me drop out and find a job and help out my mom. Due to the cost of my education and my mom's medical bills, we are having a tough time finding enough money to hire someone to assist my mom while my dad is at work. I am an only child and it seems much of my extended family has turned their back on us.
My dad would kill me if he knew I was doing this and I hate to beg, but I am not sure what else to do. We need help. I can't stand to see my dad so stressed out. He is a champ and, outwardly, he shoulders life's burdens with such grace. I am a stage 4 cancer patient (lymph nodes, liver, and lung) I have been receiving treatment for the last 14 months, and I am now completely out of money. I am divorced, I have 2 kids which my exwife has custody of. A few months ago I decided to go back to work, and that just is not working to the fullest. I cant make it a full day without getting so run down that i have to leave. I am a single mom of 2 sons; 1 grown & doing wonderfully in the world & the other just entering his teen years. I've raised both boys on my own, survived despite chronic poverty & worked very hard for the past 25 years to do so. I am an unusually-talented & tenaceous woman, having changed careers several times in order to assure that my boys were always properly taken care of. Since 1995, I've worked in positions where I was unsupervised & done well ethically in that type of independent environment. As a subcontracted cab driver for the past 5 years, I've worked 60+ hours a week consistently, without vacation or any other benefits. I've missed only 8 workdays in all that time: 3 days for illness & 5 days straight this past August to care for my mother while she died. Several things have changed for me in the past few weeks. I came across an opportunity to start my own business. I crave the day when my earnings are no longer confined to poverty levels & the majority of my waking hours dictated by the terms of a subcontracted position. At 49, I'm still young enough to start fresh again, during these last few years before my youngest son flies the coup. I'm already well-practiced at working on my own. It's finally time for me to do that & reap the rewards as well.

In the meantime, my demanding schedule caused me to be lax in filing tax papers for 2008 & 2009. So, the last week of October, I filed the 2008 returns through a local tax preparer. I've just completed the 2009 books & submitted those to the tax preparer 2 days ago. The importance of the tax filings is that I have a refund of $2000 coming to me from 2008. The tax preparer told me it would take 2 to 4 weeks to receive those funds. So I began preparations to become this region's very first fully-trained SmartPhone & Tablet Repair Tech. Being a frugal woman, I formulated a plan to use the tax refund to pay $395 for the 10 days training & startup business tools. My son & I can easily live off of the remaining money while I launch my business. And with the additional refund from 2009 pending in another 6 to 8 weeks, I will be well-set to get my business rolling.

With the business plan & pending refund in mind; & following a serious disagreement on matters of proper customer service; I gave the cab company 30 days written notice & finished my last day on November 6th. I left on good terms with an option to return. But the owner has since filled my position, so even if I returned immediately, the hours would be sparse. Plus, I could no longer be happy there, having to repeatedly apologize to my customers because the company owner habitually re-contracts drivers of poor character. Swearing at, name-calling & being generally rude to customers & co-workers is unacceptable behavior, in my code of ethics.

However, my tax refund has yet to materialize. I called the IRS just today & finally got some information on my refund status. I already phoned them just 2 weeks ago to correct a major error by the tax preparer. The kind young woman I spoke with today informed me of yet another major error by the tax preparer; & because of that error, it will now be another month before they send a refund to me!

So here I am, trying to keep the faith & maintain my patience, but stressing over unpaid bills. The first of the month has passed. I live in HUD subsidized housing, & my rent is only $110, but it was due by the 5th. I have never been late with my rent, but this month I had to practically beg for the apartment managers to be patient in getting the rent paid. There are also utility bills of nearly $200 due, & my prepaid phone was shut off for several days last week until a good friend paid that bill for me. I had faith in my tax preparer & was counting on having my refund by now to pay those bills. Needless to say, I am very unhappy with his service at this point.

I spent 2 weeks trying to get a 'payday' or personal loan. But because I was a subcontractor & now I'm unemployed, no one is willing to make such a loan. I even dedicated a full day last week to 14 fruitless hours straight online, just trying to click enough surveys to pay the $50 phone bill. I receive no child support or welfare benefits. Sadly for my son, Santa will not be arriving until well after Christmas. At this point, my income is 0.

So what I am asking for is just enough money to get us by until the tax refund arrives. I can reasonably make $750 stretch through to mid-January.

I am proud. It is hard for me to ask for this. But it is even harder to grovel to my landlords & the utility companies. And it was never my intent to risk us losing our home. I am deeply concerned that this may happen. The timing is simply bad for us not to have our refund yet. I wish my tax preparer had done a better job for me.

I have been blessed with great health & an optimistic outlook, despite all my life's trials. Others are not nearly so lucky & I am truly grateful for my blessings. Our crisis started a year ago when my little sister went missing the day after Thanksgiving 2010. No one knew anything about where she was, well my mother and I didn't know. My mother broke down she didn't know if her youngest child was cold or hungry or safe or worse dead.She was on a downward spiral. She started contacting places to help look for my sister, months went by with no news moms birthday came and went and nothing from my sister. In March of this year all the stress of my little sister took its toll on my mother and she was let go from her job of 7 years. Then just two weeks after loosing her job my grandfather passed away. The same week my grandfather passed away my mother and I found out that my grandmother, aunt, older sister and dad and his whole family were hiding my little sister. We found out that my little sister ran away because she wanted to drop out of school and my mother would not let her. So my moms whole family and ex-husband helped her to stay on run for almost a year. She was picked up in October of this year. We have gone to some family therapy and after my sister went through some in patient treatment for her depression she will get to come home on the 23rd of December. The only problem is we are being evicted on December 19th if we do not have the $1475 we owe in rent by then. See I am in school working on my nursing degree I work part time but it is not enough. Mom has been unable to find another job she gets unemployment but it did not start for 13 weeks after she lost her job and we were so far behind at that point that our gas had been shut off so no hot water or heat. Any way by June we were $2050 behind and rent was coming due again. We both worked very hard to catch things up over the next few months, but the landlord knowing our situation has decided that 6 days before Christmas our $250 a week payments (All my moms unemployment checks) was no longer good enough and on Dec 19th will be going to court to evict us. If we could just get enough help to get caught up we will have enough to maintain. All my mother wished for all year was for my sister to be found and come home safe and now she is loosing our home and my sister will not be able to be with us for Christmas. I really need a miracle to save my mom she is so depressed and sad all the time. Hello and God Bless You for taking the time to read my story. I am an Industrial Electrician awaiting a new job assignment, as I have been for a while now. I work for a Temp. Staffing agency based out of Ohio. With the holidays coming up the jobs are few and far between right now. I have been looking into other employment options every day, but with our economy its horrible. This really kills me to ask for help but my children have not grew up like I did, poor and without. They have always been very blessed, although this year is looking terrible. I sat and cried for hours the other night because my son asked "Why isn't the tree up yet Daddy" My Christmas Tree is always up at Halloween and filled with presents by then as well. This has been an extremely tough year for us we have had to move twice this year already and that is not us. Its breaking my heart, I call my company daily and harrass them to get me out on a job, just nothings available right now. Im getting unemployment right now but in Tn thats a whole 270 a week, once we get grocerys and pay bills im going backwards. I could really use some help right now to obtain a descent Christmas for my children like they deserve. Thank you for taking the time to read this posting, It's strange I'm usually the one getting names off the tree's at walmart to help other kids, because when im working full time I make really good money and I too love to help people, Its just weird being on the other side of this, and now I feel like Im all alone in this battle. I pray to God every day to send some work my way to help me out of this bind I am in right now, And I know he will I just have to be patient and keep my faith strong. Hello, I am a newly diagnosed cancer patient who until few months ago believe in the health system but unfortunately due to our country financial situation most of the benefits businesses used to provided were cut off, including my health insurance. Now I am left with a need for chemotherapy and no insurance to cover the expenses. I need the treatments to survive, but I do not have the means to pay for it. please help me.

My Wife and I are both disabled Americans. She has had a major back fusion and two knee replacements as well as some heart woes. I myself have just had my second major back surgery, I have an implantable Cardiac Defibrilator and one total knee replacement.
We are both on a very low income, myself on Social Security Disabilaty, she on School Employees Retirement Disabilaty benefits. We have a vehicle that is almost twenty years old and on its last legs.. I am certain you get many letters like this everyday but we really would like some kind of assistance. We would love to be able to move to Vermont where we can be near our children and Grandchildren as they grow and flourish into strong Americans ans be near our Parents as they live out thier golden years. I know we are asking a lot but if there is anything you can do to truly show your compassion , we will speak on every t.v. station, every radio station, make posters, whatever it takes. To show our thanks and support. We're begging you.
The state of Ohio in its infinite wisdom is considering stopping paying my Medicare part b and take away my medicaid because we, "make too much gross income" by the time we pay all our bills we have maybe 50.00 left to last an entire month.
My Wifes Information::::
I was Married to a very wonderful man for 31 years. He developed heart disease and diabetes. He fought valiently but finaly succomed to the medical problems. I became very sad and was almost at the brink of a mental breakdown. I did become involved with the local Greif Counseling service as this helped me to ease my burden a small amount. I began talking to this nice fellow on Pogo.com which is an online gaming site where one may play all sorts of games such as Solitare etc. We hit it off and began internet dating in August of 2008. We arranged to meet in November and upon viewing each other we knew the bond we had felt over the air was a real bond and Leo dropped to his knees and askeed me to Marry him. We married a week later in November of 2008 and have been together ever since. Since than we have both become quite medically burdened ourselves, Leo has a thing called Sudden Cardiac death Syndrome and has had to have had an Automatic Implantable Cardiac Defibrilator instaled recently. We both suffer from back woes and must seek care frequently. Now we do have a 1996 Chevy Blazer that runs when it feels like it, the airconditioner is broken and what with being in the Midwest is very hot to have to drive around with the windows down. A computer part that costs 1500.00 for the A.B.S. system is out and we just can not afford to fix it. We love the vehicle as it was my first ever fully owned vehicle from a bank loan in my life. If We appreciate everything we have and are greatful for both this site and for all the kindness of others. My Information::::
My Wife and I will be Married for three years on November 28th.We met in late July or early August of 2008. She had just lost her husband of 31 years. I was myself looking for a somewhat different lifestyle than I was in currently. I was living at home at over 40, disabled with a moderate spinal disease and more or less going nowhere. Debbie and I hit it off right away and we were engaged in October and Married in November. We each have been each others rock and best friend and companion. I have since went into the Ministry and have undertaken many courses towards helping others to live as good a life as possible. Debbie is a great personal loss counselor in her own right. I recently became a heart patient and have had to have an Automatic Implantable cardiac defibrilator installed in my upper chest which has a built in pace maker. All this at only the age of 49.Debbie has had to have undergone major back surgery herself and have screws and cages ut into her lower back. This makes us totaly disabled yet we both have a teriffic outlook on life and are always willing to help others. Life is what you make it, not a series of bad events that bring you down. We both appreciate each day given unto us and are so greatful for all our friends, family, and fellow searchers of lifes Grace. If we were chosen to receive a New SUV as we live in snowy Ohio and may move to new England to be closer to some family we would make certain that it was put to good use and everyone would know the generosity of others. I can only hope as this as well as the other stories here on this site may touch you a small amount and you shall favor us with kindness. God Bless Everyone. Thank You All.
