Our Home is slipping away... Please HELP now!

Just $10-$20 from YOU, could help us make a dream come true, and possibly others on Begslist.com as well!!
As the housing bubble collapsed, my family and I could see the coming recession and its fall out coming. While my wife has a steady and secure job, and I ran a successful public relation business, we could not chance getting caught in the down pour of bad lending and foreclosure we saw coming. That was our last smart move.
As the recession, I might argue depression spread across the country and our town equally, like so many others, we found ourselves affected in ways we didn't see coming. My business began to fail, losing client after client to hard economic times, until those few clients who were left were asking for reduced costs, some even asking to keep services coming though they can not pay at this point. I have tried to oblige. I continue to serve many clients in trying to promote their products and services "pro-bono" so they can eek out a living in these times.
My wife has been great through all this. She works a steady "day job" to barely meet our monthly rent and bills.
We have tapped every credit card, and can't pay their monthly bills and fees. We have ruined our credit, believing if we could hold back the storm, and continue to help those we serve, we would be alright on the other end.
NOW, as home prices are finally in reach, we find that we can no longer qualify for the loan that would get us, and our five sons into a new home. With home costs once nearing and surpassing $200K, we can now buy the perfect home for $50K. That's what we're asking for now: $50K!! Banks, once far too anxious to give loans for over-priced homes to people who could not afford them, now turn us away for a much more reasonable loan that would actually lower our monthly expenses by almost 1/2. We now watch as wealthy investors snatch up the homes once financed by real families and foreclosed on. But in the time it takes to rebuild the credit we need to get financed, these moguls will have all of the properties and be renting them out to all of us who could not hope to own under these terms.
So we turn to YOU! A generous stranger, who can help make our dream come true. YOU can donate a small portion of this expense, and help us to make this dream come true. We are setting a goal of $50K, and hoping to beat the tide of greedy investors from owning what could be our new home. As we get closer to our goal we will use some of the thoughtful contributions we receive to repair the credit we have forfieted, so we might get the funding we need on our own through a bank. IF this happens, and we exceed donations needed, then we will donate the remaining funds to others on Begslist.com, including to the Begslist.com creator to continue to help neighbors help neighbors ... because we all need help sometimes!

Startup money for a Restaurant

Posted by Startup on 2012-05-01 09:58:20

Dear friends,
As most of you donors need to know, I am a seeking funds to open up a restaurant. I have fast food management experience and I desire to own my own restaurant. Currently our family donate monies to charity helping people where most needed and I would like to empower myself financially to give even more generously by owning my own business. Our donations from the funds raised by our restaurant also assist in being used to help feed, clothe, and empower those less fortunate, who simply cannot afford the basic essentials of life. It's a great cause, and I'm proud to be a part of it.
This year 2012, I am asking for monetary donations to help reach this goal. With the current state of the economy, it's become even more important to raise money to reach a financial goal to assist in opening up a business that will help others less fortunate.
My goal is to raise $4,500 to help open up my restaurant, so I can continue to help those in need and better myself as well. Will you please consider a monetary donation to this project Your donation may be used as a tax deduction.

Please Donate whatever you can to help me get this

Suffering from $165,000 in student loan debt...

Posted by hockeyadc on 2012-04-23 09:58:31

I currently have $165,000 in student loan debt. I am out of school, and working as many jobs, side jobs, and gigs I can find to pay off this massive debt. It is very discouraging to have spent 5 hard years of my life becoming an educated individual, when I have nothing to show for it. I will be paying this debt off for over 25-30 years, by this time I will be 54 years old. I would love to be able to have a life before I turn 54... Owning a house someday would be a dream come true, but I'm not sure it will be since I already owe enough money for one.

Any help would be great. Thank you everyone for taking the time to read my plea.

P.S. These are private loans mainly, so I cannot go on income based repayments like I would be able to if they were federal. I did not receive any federal money or FAFSA money. I wish I could go on income based repayments, because life is very hard at the moment.

Thanks again everyone.

side all my life. I am 40 years old and it
is still there, but not nearly as bad, in
fact,all during school,my nickname was"tilt

embarrasement, friendless,and dateless. It
was like this for the first 20 years of my
life.I have lived my life one close to the
poverty level. I have not even started to
live life. I finally have a chance to own
a house and be among the normal person, but
I need the $15,000 for the down payment.I
will never have a normal life, but owning a

I Know This Is Crazy But.........

Posted by jodot on 2012-03-17 15:58:52

I have always been told to think big and big things will happen. Give up and there is no hope. So here is goes...My mother recently has had a stroke. I have always rented and she has always dreamed of me owning my own home. This is what Mom has dreamed for me for many years. I would like to fulfill her wish especially after her recent stroke. Seems like I have always been stuck with low paying jobs or I had money saved up for a downpayment and something would happen I would have to use the money for something else. So, I know it's a big dream but I gotta take the chance anyway to find out. I know it's a bit crazy but I can't give up on Mom and I's dream.

Student needs money to help pay for car

Posted by avince on 2012-02-10 23:58:16

The car I'm currently driving has 230,000 miles on it. It's on its last leg.

I've been saving money for a while to buy a car, and so far have saved $1000.

I happened to find a person in my town who is selling a car that is very special to me. It might not be special to anyone else because it's over twenty years old and hardly fashionable or seductive, but I have wanted an old BMW E30 style car for as long as I can remember. Most people want a brand new car, but I would take one of these old BMWs over any new car any day of the week. I am in love with them and have dreamed of owning one forever.

These cars are very hard to come by where I live, and there just happens to be a person in my town who is selling one in excellent condition. The odds of this are mindboggling.

The problem is that he wants $1000 more than I can give him. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me, and I just can't quite make it by myself.

I have exhausted all of my options to come up with the other $1000 and have now shamefully resorted to online begging. If I were to get this car, it truly would make me the happiest person on the entire planet. It might seem silly, but this has been a dream of mine for a long time. I just wish I had the other $1000. It will probably be sold very soon and I know it's materialistic and petty, but it breaks my heart to think I will miss out on it.

we are sinking fast..

Posted by riversofsound on 2012-02-04 21:58:00

My husband and I finally realized our dream of owning our own home in august of last year. We were budgeting and doing good, living within our means. Then I found out I was pregnant again after suffering from 3 losses. It was unexpected as we were finally at terms with only having two kids, it took us a long time to feel ok with it. Now this pregnancy has been rough, and our medical bills are already in the thousands. Our insurance isn't helping much. Also working 40 hours a week has become a memory since Xmas ended, we both work in retail and they've been cutting us left and right. So now here we are we made our house payment and the other essentials that our kids can't live without(heat and water) and we are done until payday two weeks away. We don't have enough to pay our medical bills that are due this month, or the overdue ones from January. We feel like we are sinking fast and to top it all off I have to take blood thinners for this pregnancy and that's $150-200 a month extra. We just want this little guy to make it, and we are pretty desperate right now. Please help?

Want to buy my daughter a reliable car for Christmas

Posted by ChristiesMom on 2011-12-07 11:58:34

I know it may not seem important but, my daughter is 17, works 2 jobs, helps me with her younger siblings (My son is autistic), is about to graduate with a 3.8 and is amazing. I clean houses and don't make a lot, we have enough, but no extra. We saved up and bought her a car which ended up blowing a head gasket shortly after we bought it. With no other option, sadly, she cashed in her savings bonds that my Dad had been buying her since she was born and got $600. She had $200 saved. She bought an 88 pontiac 6000. Yesterday, after owning it less than a month, it left her stranded on the highway. No clue what is wrong now.
I know a car isn't really important and there are so many people that need rent or food or clothes. Please give money to them first. If there is a little left, I would really like to be able to get her a car for Christmas. We are saving every extra dollar we have but at this rate, it will take us years to save enough up again. I think I can get her a great car for about $4000. One that looks good that her friends won't make fun of and most importantly won't leave her stuck anywhere.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, she really is a fantastic kid and I can't even imagine how happy she would be to have car that runs! :-)

Student Loans

Posted by StrugglingStudent on 2011-10-28 16:58:43

Please help a struggling student trying to take control of student loans and be in control of life once again. We all want the American dream of owning a home with a white picket fence in the suburbs, while raising a family comfortably. We are told throughout high school and in almost every aspect of society (i.e. television commercials and bill boards) that the only way to achieve this dream is to go to school and earn a degree. Well long story short, while trying to grab my piece of apple pie I acquired an enormous mountain of debt (to the tune of 34K). I was also forced to leave the college that I was attending after just one year because tuition became just too expensive! This debt has followed me like a dark cloud and has become a burden to my young life. Even though the thought of having such a large amount of debt at such a young age is stressful I have continued to keep trying. I have not let it stop me, but it has tremendously slowed my pace to achieve my dream. I’m currently enrolled in junior college but due to the fact I am solely dependent on financial aid my journey is a rough one. I have tried to pay on these loans but with little to no experience my job pool is more like a puddle. The money that I made was just not enough and I feel that I’m in deep trouble. So if you’re reading this please find it in your heart to help a student in need of a fighting chance against my battle with student loans. I’m not asking for much anything will help me win this fight.
Thank you-
Struggling Student

in between homes

Posted by prayforme on 2011-09-28 10:58:54

I am a 44-year-old mother of three and very proud grandmother. Unfortunately my daughter and grandson depend on me to keep a roof over their head since the dad is a "deadbeat". I recently lost my apartment and we are now living with an a friend temporarily. Most of my immediate relatives have passed away in the passed 4 years so I have no one to turn to.

I have always wanted to own a home but I have bad credit due to some poor decision making in my younger days. I am struggling to keep my "head above water". It's a never ending battle. If I could just get enough money for a down payment on a home that I could afford I would never be homeless again. I would like to buy a home and leave it to my children one day so that they always have a roof over their heads and do not have to experience the fear of being on the streets or dependent on someone else. After all, isn't owning a home the "American Dream". For me that's all it will ever be is a dream...please help make my dream come true.

Thank you

Luxury Commune

Posted by JustJane on 2011-09-14 21:58:56

The idea has been brewing for decades. I am not alone. My generation does not have the retirement expected and enjoyed by our parents, despite having been educated and hardworking since our teens. Tried to save, careful with earnings, and at 50, little to show for it. The rat race has run it's course. The urban mayhem is tiresome, and we deserve to retire, relax, and enjoy life before we are too old to do so.
As it stands, I like many others are looking at working our whole lives, and I mean our WHOLE lives. It is wrong.
At my current age, both my parents took early retirement , and have been enjoying theor lives comfortably already for decades. This dream is completely out of reach for myself, and most amongst my generation.
Working our whole lives, full time is wrong on many levels. One being that we are only making others rich, as we toil, grow ill, and spend our days in traffic and cubicles, struggling, for what? As long as we are chasing the paycheck, there is no freedom, and no hope for living before we croak.
A commune does not have to be dozens of dirty hippies. I see small communities. Even half a dozen people, or couples in one large home. This home can consist of a shared building with kitchen and living space, and other out buildings containing bedrooms, bathrooms private entrances and porch space. So you have a place with community and privacy as you choose.
Once I had a roomate situation that was much like this. A large house, S shaped. bedrooms were at opposite ends, and I went weeks sometimes without even running into roommates. In the center was the main kitchen and a living room space where we occasionally got together in. Roommates each had their own entrance, bedroom, bathroom, and living room space. There was a common courtyard area, as well as a private outdoor area for every bedroom. We comfortably had 8 people,, sharing rent and utilities. This made the cost of living extremely low , and we each survived happily only working part time.
There was a community garden, those who participated in its upkeep could just help themselves to its bounty, but there was plenty to share and even those without the time to work in it would benefit.
Everyone was responsible for their own food needs, transportation, and their portion of rent and utilities. It was no problem, and we lived this way for a full decade, and could have indefinitely if the house was not sold. I did try unsuccessfully to buy it.

So, I am asking for assistance making such a thing possible again, but this time by owning, not renting, so as not to lose it!

The place does not have to be glamourous, just roomy, on the outskirts of town, and hoping this time for a pool. And I wish to share it with others in the same manner so to afford others like myself to retire, or at least semi-retire, comfortably. The beauty in this is also that you are not alone, not isolated, and yet not crammed in where you have no privacy. There is someone there if the car breaks down, or if your heart gives out!

I think this is a great model for my generation who has worked hard and deserves the retirement that has been stolen from them. We do not want to burden our children.

I see this model serving first in this respect for those of us contemplating the impossibility of retirement, but also I believe it can serve as a model for a new way to live for all. Share. Pool resources. Grow food. We can enjoy all the modern conveniences, and get off the grid too, gradually.

When like minded people come together and cooperate with the same goals in mind, it can happen.

Need the home, need the land. The rest is easy.

Please consider the simplicity, and common sense in my plea, and help me make this possible for myself, and others. It will serve as an example to our children and future generations. Please.

And thank you for reading this far, I know this was long!

Every cent I receive from this post and others I will put toward this plan which I hope to get off the ground ASAP.

I was laid off in March 2011 due to company downsizing, could not qualify for unemployment because the previous employers "claimed" I'd quit. Job hunted on foot in Chicago from March to August filling out 4-9 applications a day, 5 days a week without a single call from anyone. Exhausted all of my bank accounts, can not get a load due to not owning a car or home, had to sell my car just to pay off debts, lost my apartment because ex-roommate thought it was better to steal from me and lie about having a job than telling the truth. My parents are in the hospital, so they are in no shape to help me.

The only way I have been able to contact people is by relying on my girlfriend's Internet, electricity, helping her cook and clean while "guest staying" at her apartment but know this won't last. I ask too much of her help to watch my cat while I continue to look online.

All I ask is for someone, anyone who can help. My goal is simple: I need to raise enough money to start a art design, publishing studio which would bring in clients who need visionaries to help make their designs, commercials, products, books, ebooks, animation using the next wave of 3D technology, FX special effects for student filmmakers in Chicago colleges, to help bring in interns and show them the pros and cons to hone their skills, and finally bring together Chicago artists who wish to have their talents and skills to create extraordinary work for any and all who wish to see it.

Bottom line, I need help. Financial help. I don't know what else to do. I can't get a job, for whatever reason, I'm flat broke, exhausted from sleeplessness and stress. All I own is a laptop, some clothes, my wonderful artistic skills, (my undying determination, good sense of right and wrong, knowledge of computer programs, business sense, sharp humor and a kind heart to make my dream a reality. I really don't want to live under a expressway but if things don't change, it looks like my next post just might be my last.

For those of you who have read this and given some thought, please help by donating. Who knows, you might be lending out to the future "Industrial light and Magic" of the 21st century?

This is for more that just myself, this is for a cause that needs help. Help from people like you who know the value of the human heart. This is to help create a studio designed to welcome those who wish to create, strive, teach, animate, and pioneer. Imagination is the last, boundless frontier, let's be a part of that journey by helping one another dream it to fruition.

No dream ever truly dies, we just let them fade away.

Help me change that. Any help will do.

Thank you for reading.
