Help me save my home!

Posted by camlie on 2012-05-10 07:58:24

Two years ago my husband lost his job. We live in Michigan so finding another job was difficult to say the least. In between loosing his job & finding another we spent every penny we had saved trying to keep up with our mortgage & other bills. Once we got behind, it became impossible to catch up so now we are facing foreclosure. We called our mortgage company & they said that if we can pay them $35,000 by June 15th we will be paid in full & own our home outright! We owe them $110,000 but they are willing to forgive that & accept $35,000!!! If we cant come up with that amount they will foreclose & we will be homeless. We have gone to family members but sadly no one will help us. This is everything to me, I have been so depressed & afraid. What will my children think of me? Please help us, any little bit will help. Thank you & God Bless you!

Please help keep my family from living on the street .

I have never asked anyone for anything in my life but now at 48 i am at a loss and need help . I will try to make a long
story shot . My wife my youngest daughter (10) and my youngest son (12) have been living in a family owned apartment
building for 8 years now as the caretakers so rent free before this we lived in another apartment building for 12 years
as caretakers again rent free it is important to note that my wife and i do work as well and we make ok money not great
but we scrape by. The issue(s) are the family member has decided out of the blue with no warning to sell the building out
from under us. This will literlally put us on the street with no where to go see my son has several medical issues and
since we had no rent to pay keeping up with the prescriptions and such was doable some months are tough but we always scrape
by. The fact is we simply cannot afford to move into a rental situation we would be looking at an extra $750 a month minimum
that we simply do not have my job pays well but its all graveyard shift and only 35 hours a week i keep this job so i can be
up with the kids while the wife goes to her job and to run the building do repairs etc its a rough system but it works well
in that we can both work and not have to worry about child care . I have this chance to buy a piece of land about 10 minutes
from the city with a 3 bedroom mobile home on it the property tax is only $1200 a year. I cannot afford to just buy it outright
i would rather not try to finance it as that would give us a monthly bill that we simply can't afford right now i do not expect
to get all the money needed from here but every little bit would help we do have a modest savings account not much but with that
and if some kind souls on here could see there way clear to helping us we may be able to raise enough so i can at least make a
down payment the property owner is very sympathetic to our plight and is willing to work with us if we can come up with a good
down payment he is willing to take lower monthly payments over a longer period of time until it is payed off. My family would
certainly appreciate any help anyone can give us . Thank you for reading .

In need of help

Posted by pixiedust on 2012-02-10 08:58:22

My husband and i have hit some hard times recently. We have been together for 7 years but only got married last august and we have 2 young children togetherFirst we got behind on rent which we have been trying so hard to pay back then my husband lost his car (which he needs to get to and from work) due not being able to make finace payments so we had to buy a cheaper car outright in cash which put us behind even further with household bills. We also have been wanting to move for a long while now because ideally we've been longing for a 3 bed house and so that my husband doesn't have to travel so far for work, therefore saving money on fuel. We started applying with local authority housing associations and hve now been offered a 3 bed house in an ideal location. The only problem is we have to move in two weeks and we have to give four weeks notice for leaving our current home and so rent will over lap for 2 weeks which is all we need with already owing rent we need to carpett it in most rooms (taking what carpet we can from current home) and now my husband has informed me that the MOT on his car is going to cast way more than expected. Any help at all would be greatly recieved

Pregnant dog rescuer needs your help

Posted by Laurisa77 on 2012-01-10 11:58:29

I recently discovered I am pregnant with my first child and am overwhelmed. I am excited about the idea of becoming a mother and know that I will be a good parent. I am educated, hard working and love children.

I have been a dog rescuer for over 10 years, working as a foster parent for my local humane society. This is 100% a volunteer position that I donate a lot of my time, energy and resources to. In the past 10 years I have rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed over 300 dogs and puppies.

I do have a full-time job to pay my bills. I am a hard worker and have been at my current job for 6 years. However, due to the economy in my area, my income recently took a sharp nosedive. I am looking for additional work to supplement my income and/or a different full-time job (that is not commission based).

Unfortunately, my bills are now behind and my home is in foreclosure. I own a small farm in the country and have a great set-up for the foster work that I do and a great place to raise a child. Rentals in our area tend to be higher than what my mortgage payment is now ($550), so moving wouldn't be a better move for me financially. I am currently 3 payments behind.

With cold weather here now, my electric bill has spiked and is now averaging about $195 a month (most months it is only about $85-$90).

I own my vehicle outright, but it's older and seems to be in need of more and more repairs. Right now I am in debt to my mechanic $165 for brake work he did 2 weeks ago. It's an older SUV and a gas guzzler.

I do not live a fancy lifestyle, by any means. I do not have cable tv, high-speed internet, new clothes or shoes, expensive purses or designer sunglasses. I live a very modest and healthy life and do not believe in waste. I'm not a drinker, not a smoker and do not use drugs of any kind.

The humane society foots in the bill on all of the foster-dog related expenses (vet care, food, toys, etc.), so I have no money going out towards that. I have cut back on the number of dogs that I foster, from 2-3 at a time to just 1. I am a responsible foster parent and in no way a hoarder.

I intend to continue fostering up until I have the baby (due date is August 15th). I get so much personal fulfillment out of rescue work and I know will miss it when the baby comes. However, I know that I will want to focus 100% on my child and being the best mom I can be.

I have always been a big believer in paying it forward to the greater good. I'm hoping that this plea will reach someone out there who is currently in a comfortable financial position and willing to assist someone who is not.

I can, and will, provide proof of any of the facts I stated above, including a letter from my employer, a letter from the humane society director, copies of my utility bills, mortgage bill, etc., upon request.

A Place to Lay My Head at Night

Posted by LovingAuntie on 2011-07-21 22:58:41

I am writing on behalf of my 38 year old niece, who was recently diagnosed with Huntington’s disease (HD) and cannot submit this request without assistance. For those of you who are unfamiliar with HD, briefly, it is a fatal, autosomal-dominant neurological illness causing involuntary movements, debilitating emotional disturbance and cognitive decline.
In most instances, when you hear of someone being diagnosed with HD, it’s more like being handed a death sentence. This is due to the fact that there is no known cure and for many, the course of their illness for the rest of their lives is outright terrifying. Care and treatment for HD is extremely costly, and can be arduous, rigorous and intense, and therefore persons with this illness are usually placed in residential care and treatment facilities to live out their days.

My niece has chosen to live a full and meaningful life with HD and through the Grace of God, and all who step up to support her in this effort. She is currently residing on her own, and has shown amazing courage, strength and unique humor each and every step of the way. Most recently she mentioned to me in a telephone conversation that she saw a televised showing of a young girls wish being granted by the Make a Wish Foundation, and how she could use them to get a midsized sofa bed for herself, which she currently needs for her studio apartment.

After an exhaustive internet search for sites that grant adult wishes, I came upon this site and am formally submitting this request to you for your consideration. There is a Big Lots in the area where my niece resides which has a sofa bed for $400. If you are in a position to donate some or all of the funds towards this purchase please feel free to do so. If you find yourself in a position to purchase the sofa sleeper and have it delivered to her, this too is welcomed. Either way, contact us so we can make arrangements.

And if you’re feeling despondent because you have no money to contribute, you can assist us in this way. We’ve had tremendous success so far this year in garnering support for the Huntington’s Disease Parity Act, which would make it easier for people with HD to receive Social Security Disability and Medicare benefits. Prior to the onset of HD, my niece and most other adults affected with this disease were tax paying citizens like you and I. We are up to 83 cosponsors of H.R. 718 in the House and 6 cosponsors of S. 648 in the Senate, and we need YOUR help to get Rep. Grace F. Napolitano on board. You can do so by writing to her as well as your own congresspersons to support these bills.

Thank you for your consideration and effort.

Renew my teeth so I can get a job

Posted by normsdental on 2011-07-01 19:58:43

I need to renew my teeth so I can get a job. No - not the reason you are thinking!!!..... I was always a candy-and-soft-drink kind of guy from my earliest childhood in the 40's. The sugar ruined my teeth over a period of many decades. For all those years I kept ahead of the damage because I paid out extraordinary amounts on dental care, year after year, and everything seemed "normal".... I don't drink or smoke or use drugs of any kind. Now I am "sorta retired", trying to live on Social Security at age 68. I tried to "live thrifty", but gradually almost all of the old dental work failed and I lost almost a majority of my teeth, especially all of the uppers in the front - the "interview teeth" ! ! ! ! . I can barely live on the tiny amount I get from "SS" plus pay sky-high regulated-monopoly prices for dental work, so I am living in my car in pain. I am just about to go out panhandling in San Francisco to do SOMETHING! and today I saw this site. Can anybody help me? I can't get a job with my teeth ruined like they are now. I still have maybe half of my teeth and half of the rest are broken rotting stubs, some actively lapsing into toothaches every few days. The remainder are outright missing. All my fault from childhood onwards, I am sure you are saying.....All too true, but I am asking anyway. Please help with anything you can. I have lots of dormant "mainframe" computer skills and internet abilities. I also lots of more-customary regular-job skills, but I am destitute in S.F. with routine monthly expenses - especially with storing the last of my possessions. I can't upgrade my situation unless I have some good-enough teeth that I can go out on a job interview. Also I need to pull the recurring toothache teeth. Thank you in advance for helping me renew my diminishing life-prospects...... Once I get a good job I can definitely pay the rest myself, but I do need some help to get started!

Family of 4 looking for a hand up, not a hand out.

Posted by forever8288 on 2011-04-20 04:58:08

My husband and I have been together for 3 years now. Since we first got together we have had to move 6 times in 4 different cities. We have went through one rental contract after another, moving once each contract was up. Each time, having to find new jobs in a new area. This has taken a major toll on our family in the sense of having no stability. We moved into a new home back in November, a home that the owner's agreed to sell to us for CFD. Finally feeling as though we have some security and structure, we became comfortable, only to find out at the end of last month that the owners now want to sell it outright. We do not have the credit or job history to get a loan through any bank or lender. This is once again leaving us with no place to call home. And with it being such short notice, we had little time to try to make new arrangements. Now we have to move ourselves and our 2 young children in with my parents until we can get our feet on solid ground again. This is going to mean the four of us living in a single room that used to be a 2 car garage. This disappointing news was made worse by me losing my job 2 weeks ago once it was discovered that we would be relocating far away. My husband was let go from his place of work back in January after missing too many days after his brother was killed in a car accident. 4 months into the new year has only brought us sadness and disappointment, and I am to the point of putting any small bit of pride I had aside and asking for help. We are a younger couple who want nothing more than to provide a nice, safe, secure home for our children. We don't drink, do drugs or party. We have always earned our living the honest hardworking way, and we continue to wait to see that come through for us. We are both actively looking for work, filling out applications, sending in resumes and contacting work placement places constantly. We just need that jump start to get us settled into a permanent home. Because, it is extremely hard to keep a job when you have to constantly move. If you are able to help in any way, be it by donation or job placement, we would greatly appreciate it and would like for you to send a message with an email address so we can thank you personally. As far as our experience, I have 5 years' clerical experience including medical and have completed my generals in college with top grades, and my husband has done work restoring car exteriors and graphics/paint along with some mechanical work and random clerk positions, as well as labor/factory work. Please help us make a stable home for our two wonderful kids, who deserve that and so much more! Thank you!

PLEASE....I'll eat a pepper on camera if you will help me!

My electricity's getting shut off in five days, so I have that much time to come up with 122 dollars. I refuse to beg without offering something in return, so you have three options. Option 1. I'll eat a serrano pepper on camera (that's all that's in the refrigerator) and upload it to youtube in return for donations of 10 dollars or more. You'll have to email me and let me know that's what you want. My addy's under option two. Option 2. You can contact me at my email address, oavani at yahoo dot com and I'll give you the address of my website where you can buy something cheap instead of outright donating to me here. I will get a percentage of your purchase, but not all of it because I use a dropshipper. Option 3. You can just go ahead and donate to me here without getting anything in return. I know, that one's boring. I don't know what else to do.. five days is not long to come up with 122 dollars out of thin air. I have about 40 bucks on me right now, so please help!!!

Laws of Attraction

I'm oh so tired of barely being able to pay the mortgage and get by paycheque to paycheque.
So here I am asking the universe for a favour to help me get ahead in the game.

If I can get a bunch of nice people to donate to my cause then I can pay off my mortgage and finally start enjoying life.

You see I actuallly have a game plan and I'm just having trouble getting it off the ground at the moment.

If I can raise 200k then it will allow me to pay off my current mortgage outright and then think about buying a second property to start earning passive income.

My dream in life is to eventually get to the place where I can only have to work 1 job and can actually think about going back to school. Right now due to two jobs and a mortgage I'm barely getting by with, this is not an option.

So here's me putting my idea and desires out to the universe and seeing if the laws of attraction actually work.

All I'm asking for is a wee bit of a jump start in life so that I can help myself and put my dreams and aspirations into effect.

Thanks for reading my post and for helping us fulfill our dreams of finally getting out of this debt.

Help me get my Goats.

Posted by wormladi on 2010-11-30 17:58:58

Hi. I am a low income earner. I am trying to live on about $17,000 a year. I am grateful for my job as so many do not have one at all. I want to get a couple of milking goats and a few laying chickens to help with my grocery bill. Since I am an older person I would like to get 2 or 3 (because they are a heard animal and need the company to be happy), and I will get enough milk for butter and cheese as well. I already have pasture for them, but need to provide suitable shelter and fencing to keep them safe-from wild life and wild neighbors.

The shelter for both will cost about $4000, (I will build it myself), the milk pasteurizer: $400.00, fencing (electric)-$2500.00, and hay/straw/feed for 1 year about $2500.00 (according to a farmer friend of mine). All together I need about $9400.00 total to do right by them. I plan to give away any access eggs, as well as milk to anybody in my community that may need it, and once started only ask for donations toward their upkeep. So many people need help too, and if I can help for example by providing eggs for a donation of a penny a piece and milk for 10 cents a gallon people can still pay and retain some dignity in these times.

I grew up on a dairy farm and have the expertise to do this, and own outright 10 acres of pasture with another 10 acres offered to me for pasture for free. I have an artesian well for a water supply, and support offered from farmers and friends. I have a lady up the road that wants me to get a couple of fiber goats too as she offered to clean and spin the fiber in trade for eggs and milk, as I also crochet and quilt, and have make several for people who have needed them for whatever reason.

Would you please help me? I don't want a mansion ( I live in a 14 x 70 mobile home, and it is plenty to worry about cleaning and upkeep, and my old Chevy pick-up gets me where I need to go, engine light on and all. I don't want to be a millionaire, I want to be involved in something I enjoy and can pay that enjoyment forward by helping others that do not have it as good as myself...because no matter how bad it is there is always SOMEBODY worse off than you.

Thank you for whatever project or person you support. It is a great feeling to be able to give, no matter what it is, isn't it?? :0)

i feel hopeless

Hello all,

My name is Elizabeth, but I go by my middle name Kelly. I am a 38 year old disabled woman (degenerative disc disease, two back surgeries, one abdominal surgery). I current live in El Cajon, California and due to painful reasons I cannot voice, I must move NOW. I am trying to move up to the Bay Area as I have family and friends there.

I have saved $10,000 of my own money, but I need another $10,000 ASAP. I have found land on which to build a home. The land is $9700 for a .27 acre lot. No, that's not a joke. There are about 26 lots available within a sixty mile radius of San Francisco that are listed at/or below $25,000. While I am building, I intend to live in an RV. It's the most cost effective way to move right NOW and have a home of my own for the first time in my life. I have found a suitable and well priced RV for sale. The dealership has agreed to knock another $2000 off, so after fees and taxes, it would be $11,000.

First problem: My credit has been destroyed over the last three years due to medical bills that I put on credit cards (those financial issues are resolved, but still took their toll on my credit). All of my efforts to obtain any kind of financing have now been exhausted. My credit report is actually the lesser of the issues. It's the fact that I'm disabled, on a fixed income, and have no idea when or if I can return to work (I have requested clearance to return to work and have been denied repeatedly by three different doctors). This presents the biggest concern for lenders despite the fact that how little I need to borrow would constitute a monthly payment of only 17% of my income. It makes no difference if the loan is for the land or the RV. I am considered too much of an "unknown risk." And to answer an obvious question, yes my family has already pitched in as much as they can.

Second problem: With the $10,000 I have, I can either buy the land outright, or buy the RV outright, but not both. If I buy the land, I have no way to live on it. If I buy the RV, I have no place to park it to live in it. So, I am throwing my pride out the window and I'm asking for help. If you can and are willing to help, I would be extremely grateful. Every single dollar counts... So, if a dollar is all you can spare, I would still be just as grateful. At the point at which I own the land and the RV (and my car, which is paid off) this will be just enough collateral for a bank to loan me the $45,000 I will need for the cabin kit (it's a small cabin that comes to you in pieces and you put it together yourself.... think Ikea on a much larger scale, and much better quality; it is about $18,000), and the rest of the bank loan would be to connect to utilities and lay a foundation.

I want to make it clear that I am only asking for enough help to get me up to the Bay Area... 10K total. Once I have the minimum I need, this post will come down. I'm not asking for any more than I need to get the land and the RV at the same time. I'm not asking for ANY of the money I will need to build my home and connect to utilities. I can and want to take responsibility for that myself. I'm only asking for the kick-start I need... I've saved half my start up on my own. I need help for the last push to get me to my personal "Promised Land."

Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my situation... I hope that one day, when I am financially established again, I will have the means to come back here and help others the way I was helped in my time of need.
