How Can The Rich Help The Poor?

Posted by rwbovee on 2012-05-24 11:58:07

"How can the rich help the poor?" you may ask. Here's how. I'm a poor minister, currently working in a factory. I drive an old, rusty 1985 Chevy Citation. My mechanic tells me I need a newer car right away but I don't have any money for one. It's so rusty the frame has cracked. It's literally being held together with a wire and chain so the frame doesn't rub on a back tire and give me a flat. And I need this to drive 12 miles and back to work every day to keep my paychecks coming in and for my ministry activities. And now the transmission is starting to go too. I can get a newer one right now for $5,000 that would last me for years but have no money and bad credit. So if you're asking the question, "How can the rich help the poor?" here's how. Mail a check or money order for all or any part of the money I need, anything will help, to:
Brother Roger Bovee

Or if you prefer, you can donate immediately to my Paypal account by clicking on the Paypal "Donate" button in orange below. Please take action right now and I know that God will bless you now and for eternity for it. Thanks and God bless you!

BREAST CANCER PATIENT NEED FINANCIAL HELP!

Posted by pattya on 2011-10-11 13:58:02

I need help more than ever now. My landlord just gave me an eviction notice last night because I'm two months behind on the rent. I have a storage unit in Vista, CA with what little I own in there and I just got a call Sunday that everything in my unit is going to be auctioned off Oct. 15th if I don't get that rent up to date. I owe about $400 on that. Because of my breast cancer and other medical problems I applied for State Disability, which I've been turned down twice for. Last week I had a hearing in San Diego and lost. I guess I'm not disabled enough in their eyes. I'm looking for a job as a Bookkeeper or Administrative Asst. but the unemployment rate in CA if now over 12%. If there is anything you can do to help it would be greatly appreciated. God bless you.

I've been going through breast cancer for the last 15 months. Although I'm now cancer free, the aftermath, the pain, the numbness, humility of having only one breast is worse than when I was going through chemo. At least at that time I was getting some help from a cancer organization based out of Orange County, but they serve San Diego County also. I'm a 58 single woman with no husband, no kids and no one to take care of me but myself. Although I'm emotionally ready to work only part time right now, I was recently hired and working 15 hours a week…. Not much. It’s not enough to pay my rent, put gas in my old van, let alone go out to dinner or a movie with a friend. My resume is on craigslist and I have a great deal of administrative and bookkeeping experience. I have about $2 to my name, my rent is past due and I have no money for gas. My cell phone needs a "Straight Talk” phone card every 30 days I purchase at Wal-mart (which is $45). I'm not getting any help from any organization, I’ve been turned down three times for disability and I can’t apply anymore. I don't know where to turn. I drive a 16 year old van with a transmission that is failing and it cost $90 to fill the tank. I don't want to be homeless again. My rent is $700 a month and I have none of it. I’m now two months behind. The landlord has already given me an eviction notice and I like where I live. I was told God would take care of me. I pray a lot but I feel my prayers fall on deaf ears. I don't know who to turn to or how to ask for help so I’m just putting it out there. Can anyone help me please? I you know of any organizations or individual who are able to help without being strapped themselves, that would be greatly appreciated. Even if several churches helped me with $125 to $150 each (Paid to the landlord, not me, a gas card or Wal-Mart card) that would solve my immediate dilemma. Please feel free to call or email me. Thank you & GOD bless.

HELP ME CARE FOR YOU INTHE FUTURE!

Posted by Dennis on 2011-10-08 22:58:56

HELP ME CARE FOR YOU INTHE FUTURE!
Dearest Community Member, Business Owner, and Friend,
I am a United States citizen, born in California, and raised in beautiful Orange County. I have been a full time student at Santa Ana College for the past two years. At the same time I have maintained full time employment. I also volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital located in the city of Orange. In addition, I have had the pleasure of donatingmy time on the Labor Day weekends at the Orange Street Fair to help students of El Modena High School raise funds for their specific causes. Upon earning my Associates Degree, I have taken the leap toward accomplishing my goal and desire to work asa nurse in the healthcare industry. I am currently attending Pacific College located in Costa Mesa with the goal of becoming a nurse. Becoming a nurse takes an enormous amount of hard work and dedication. I have what it takes in my heart and soul to accomplish this task. What I lack are the funds to make the monthly payments for the next two years while attending school and working full time to keep a roof over my head. The tuition for this school is$28,500.00. My student loans max out at$20,500.00. I’m looking for a way to come upwith the $8000.00 needed to bridge the gap.For this reason I am reaching out to the community. A part time job or a donation in any amount would be very much appreciated. Please help me become the individual that has the privilege to help and comfort you and your family in the future.
Donations of any amount are most graciously appreciated.
From the core of my heart and soul, I thank you for your consideration in this matter

Vet Bills, Lost my Job

Posted by lifestudent on 2011-09-01 15:58:26

Hello

Thank you for taking some time to read my story. Today I found out that I had lost my job of eight years. Trying to stay positive in this economy. The last six months have been rough for our cats. In March we had to have Nick our black cat put to sleep because of kidney failure. his bills added up to $500. Then our cat Betty had to be put to sleep for a failing thyroid and her last bill was over $250. In June and July our Orange Tabby Rusty had to have blood work done and we found out he has FIP. That stands for Feline Immune Peritonitis. His bills added up to $500. My wife rescued a Silver Tabby. Her name is Bella and she is about three months old.Although she is a young healthy cat her bills have been shots and boosters adding up to $200. All of our cats have been strays that we adopted. We keep them in the house and buy the best food we can afford. Rusty really needs AD which is a prescription only diet and the cans are $2.50 a piece. compared to .50 cents a can for the other stuff that has meat by products which is euthanized cats and dogs. I can't bring myself to feed that to our cats.We love our cats, but the bills have been a bit much. Not to mention my car needs about $1000 in repairs for tires, brakes and struts. My last bill looming over me is $20,000 in student loans. Give what you can and our family appreciates your generosity very much.
I would like to tell you a story that relates to why I am asking for help.
My father was a Vietnam vet who proudly enlisted into the army to serve his country. After willingly serving two tours of duty, he came home and married my mother (his high school sweetheart) and started a family consisting of me and my two older sisters.
When I was four, my father began experiencing difficulties with his legs and feet. After many unsuccessful operations, it was determined that he was losing the bone density in his legs and he was put in a wheelchair.
My father was an amazing man; he never let his being in a wheelchair keep him down. He climbed Pike's Peak twice and Mount Evans once in his wheelchair, one of his climbs was filmed by a local TV show in Colorado called P.M. Magazine. We have the video footage on beta and are trying to find a way to convert it to DVD. I would love to share his story with anyone wanting to watch it. It shows what a courageous man he was. It was a heartbreaking climb over rough terrain and sometimes he had to strap his wheelchair to his ankles and drag it while he scooted up steep inclines on his backside. It never deterred him. He had more strength and determination than any man I have ever met in my life. He also ran marathons in his wheelchair and spoke to other handicapped and disabled individuals to help them realize that although someone may be hindered, it just means that they learn to function differently. "I may be in a wheelchair, but the wheelchair isn't in me," he used to say.
In 1987, when I was 12, the harsh weather conditions of Colorado became unbearable for my father and we moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico.
My father was never granted disability in Colorado or New Mexico and while he fought for 30 years for his pension from the Army, he never received that either (the common story of we can't seem to find your files even though my father repeatedly submitted his paperwork to show his contribution to our country). As a result, my mother found herself working 2 full time jobs just to support us and we still barely made ends meet.
We grew up poor our entire lives, but we understood what it was like to be rich in other ways. Our family was close and we knew that, no matter how rough things could be at times, that we really did have each other. My sisters and I grew very close over the time when we had no electricity and only had each other to listen to because we didn't have the power for television and radio. We are still very close to this day. I will never regret how we grew up, even with the struggles, because it was the foundation of who we are today. We all learned how to be kind and unselfish and value each other. Both my sisters and I all have our own children and work hard to instill the same values in them.
In 2000, my father was diagnosed with lung cancer as a result of being subjected to Agent Orange while in Vietnam. The tumors were visible in both lungs and nothing could be done. He passed away one week after the diagnosis. We had no time to prepare and certainly no time to say goodbye.

My mother now lives in PA in a cute little Amish town. She has since remarried a wonderful man named Jack. He is also a Vietnam veteran.

My sisters and I still live in New Mexico with our families, although my heart is definitely on the east coast with my mother.
A short time after my mother moved to PA, she got a
job as a nurse. She loved helping other people as she had done all her life. Unfortunately, she suffered a fall that left her with permanent neck and spinal injuries. After going through her own numerous surgeries, she was unable to continue the work that she loved so much. The tables have turned from when we were growing up where she was the only source of income and Jack has been the sole provider for the last several years.
Recently, Jack began to feel very ill and it looks like the effects of Agent Orange have done their damage once again. He is suffering from skin cancer and stage 4 prostate cancer and after going through a series of tests, the probability of also having lymphoma is very high. My mother is going through the same horror once again and while my sisters and I are grown, losing a father to Agent Orange for the second time isn't easy on the heart.
A few years ago, my mother lost both parents and her only sibling, a brother, in the span of four months. She has nobody and I can't bear to leave her alone while she suffers physically and emotionally.
Unfortunately, I lost my job a couple months ago due to layoffs and have had extreme difficulty finding another source of income. Las Cruces is a small city with very limited opportunity. While I worked in the same profession for the past 11 years, I have applied for any and every type of job I could find.
We are struggling to find a way to move close to my mother so that I can take care of her and so she won't be alone if she loses Jack. My sisters and I are the only family she has left and I want nothing more than to be there for her.

I am hoping to find a job there very quickly and I would also love to attend schooling and get my degree in forensics. It has been a dream of mine to be able to assist in solving crime related cases. I firmly believe that I can accomplish my career goals and help my mother if I were in a state with far more job opportunities.
We have never been comfortable financially and my 2 teenage boys understand what it is like to do without the things they want in exchange for just the things they need, much like my sisters and I when we were growing up. I have always wanted more for my kids than to see them grow up here in a high poverty state. I believe the job opportunities and schooling for them will be equally beneficial. They both already have career minded goals that will take them farther in a bigger state.

It has been 4 years since I've seen my mother as neither of us can afford the expense of a trip.

All I am requesting is enough assistance to be able to move my family closer to my mother and locate a house to rent while I search for a job. I am only asking for short term support as I know that I am capable of supporting my own family and I am certain that I will be able to find gainful employment in a short time.

Veteran Senior Citizens Facing Foreclosure

God bless you for taking the time to read my plea. My husband and I are in our 60's and worked all of our lives, but I lost my full time job 3 years ago when the company closed it's doors and cannot find full time work. We have always been honest and hardworking people. It is harder to find a job when you are older and I have applied for everything I could possibly qualify for, often being told I am overqualified. The truth is that businesses are run by and prefer to hire younger people. I would even work for minimum wage just to have a job. My husband can only find part-time work. He is a Vietnam Veteran currently being screened for Agent Orange illnesses and cannot work full time anymore. He has Gout, Chrohn's Disease, High Blood Pressure, skin cancer and bad knees. I am diabetic and have epilepsy.

We have exhausted our savings trying to hang on and keep our home, but need help to pay off our mortgage and debts. We need about $200,000 to keep our home and another $30,000 to get out of debt.

We would be so grateful for your help and will happily pay it forward when I have the chance. I used to enjoy helping others and almost always would stop and buy a meal for a needy person when I was out shopping and miss the joy of being able to do that. I have been in touch with every agency and person I can think of and tried every other option without luck.

I am so scared. The stress we have been under is not helping our health. We never thought we would be in a position like this, but no one does. If you can help us, we would be so grateful.

The wolf is at the door, will you help us please!

PLEASE, PLEASE! I have NEVER done this before.. but the few people I know told me to try.. "ask and ye shall receive".. so here's my story:

I am a single female and I became disabled @ 26, it's now 10 years later and I have managed to too keep my head above water for all this time, but the person I live with is suddenly leaving to go back East for a job and I have to vacate our apartment. I have 2 days to get into a new place!! I already have volenteers to move me, and I will get my monthly disability check of $696. on the 1st, I just need assistance with the deposit! I saw on 20/20 (or some other news show) that there are many people who are more than willing to help people in need, you just have to reach out to get connected. I have never begged or "cyber begged" for a thing, but I don't know what else to do! I am a good person.. and promise to do what I can to pay back, or pay-it-forward any help I may receive. My disability is a result of my father having been showered with Agent Orange in Vietnam 3 years before I was born.. 2 of my 3 siblings also have neurological problems and the 3rd has a heart condition. (my father passed when I was 16 due to military related issues). I am working on getting veterans assistance, but having to move literally fell in my lap 2 days ago and I don't know what I will do. So, I ask PLEASE, help me someone. We live in a state where Gov programs are being cut Every single day and the $$ problems are endless, but at the same time have some of the wealthiest people with available extra resources. I can varify any of my info and am willing to do anything I can for help, so PLEASE contact me. I wish things were different and know I will be OK once I get relocated, but that will only happen if someone - or maybe several generous people HELP.

I have a PayPal account so I can receive donations thru it, or you can contact me thru email for further options. PayPal address is helpmoquick@gmail.com Please keep in mind if you send as a "gift" neither of us will be charged a fee. THANK YOU in advance, I look forward to connecting with you.

Hello my name is Amber Cox, I am a average seventeen year old high school student and I would like to go on a mission trip.
However due to my family being finacially unstable, I cannot afford to go.
So I want to share with you what mission trip I so desperatly would like to go on. God has presented to me a challening mission, called Power Plant Chicago. From July 10 through July 17 God has offered me the chance to go to Chicago with my youth group at Pursuit Student Ministry with The Journey at First Baptist Orange City. This mission trip will be reaching out and spreading gospel to over 200 students in urban downtown Chicago people, while also teaching the students my group and I will be reaching, along with ourselves, about the importance of the church and church planting.
At this time I need to raise $499 to attend this trip.
Would you consider supporting me with a small donation? I will need to raise all my funds by March 1 in order to pay for airline tickets and other items. Whether you feel led to contribute financially, through prayer, or both, all of your support is appreciated
God Bless, Amber Cox
