We will be going with a team of 20 people to El Salvador July 24-31. We are really excited about this opportunity.

We are writing to enlist your prayer and financial support. God has given us a special call to "go" and we are counting on Him to call those of you He has called to "send." We also know that He has a special team picked out for prayer support.

When my daughter was born in January of 2011 she had to be extracted via a fast emergency c-section. She had been engaged in the birth canal but she disengaged herself and the umbilical cord came out. The doctor was concerned that the cord was strangling her and took my wife to emergency surgery. My daughter survived and is now healthy. My wife developed an infection from the procedure and spent three months with a wound vac and endured two more procedures to try and remove the infection. In the time since I have changed jobs and moved my family back to where I grew up so we could get help with child care for both the baby and her 6 year old half sister from my parents because of the costs of day care. My wife can no longer work. I tried for several months to sell my home. When the opportunity presented itself I moved my family and ceased making the payments on the home I was trying to sell. It is now being foreclosed on. We are covered up with medical bills both from her past before we were married and also from the procedures to stop her infection and also credit card bills that are partially thanks to my ex-wife. After reading through this site I have decided that I guess I am not too proud to ask for help from compassionate people. Please contact me if you have any questions or thoughts on my situation.

Four months ago, my children and I came home to find alarms, smoke, and fear. The garage next to our apartment building was going up in flames. Knowing that our family car was parked inside, our hearts began to sink. You never realize how much clothing, food, beds, or a teddy bear, mean until you don’t have any of the above. With the blessing of a few local charities, we have been given some clothing and access to food pantries. With the loss of our vehicle, though, I was no longer able to work for my employer. I found another full time job, and am thankful for the opportunity, but I am making far less income now. We now live in a motel. It is close to public transit, and it’s a place to lay our heads.
Local housing agencies have long waiting lists, and cannot help us at this time. We want, so badly, to have a place to call home. My two wonderful little girls have taken this whole situation in such stride. They are thankful and excited for the most basic things, and it makes me so proud. They are what get me through these hard times. We are struggling to keep afloat, and dream of rebuilding our lives. To sleep in your own bed, have the ability to cook dinner on a stove, or write an address on a form, seem like such trivial things, but these are things our family can’t do. I want more than anything to make a new home for my girls.
