Help an Infant with food

This is one donation you will give that you will know goes to the right place!
My husband and I are a 30 year old couple. We moved to NY State to start a life together - and did not plan to have children right away until we were financially secure.
My husband is a computer technician and he tries his best to support myself and our new addition.
Obviously our priorities have changed - and while it was easy to skimp during hard months when it was just the two of us, skimping on our babies health and education is simply something we can not live with.
Saving for college is something that we have tried to start doing immediately - since there is no way we would be able to afford it otherwise.
Having to choose between putting money into his NY 529 or buying healthier food is tearing us up.
Any donations to this listing will go directly into his 529 account. This will help ease our debt and allow us to get the proper food and clothing he needs.
In this hard economy, any donation is extremely appreciated - even 99 cents!
God Bless.
PS - as an after thought - any donations are tax write-offs.

I started life as a homeless child. Watching my mother struggle with me receiving no help. I'm a bit older now and her health is deteriating bad. I take care of her. It's hard trying to take care of her and work and go to school all the while taking a bus or walking.
I'm in a desperate time. I need help. I need a car. My mom needs to go to her doctor appointments and I need to go to school and work. Plus, I have to walk to the grocery store. It's difficult in this snow. Winter is the hardest months for us. Bills are piling up and the shut offs are happening. Do you what it like calling the utility company crying to turn the electricity back on so your moms medicine can stay refrigerated? Even still they won't turn it back on until I pay something.
It's a very difficult time right now.
I'm trying. I really am. Please, help.
I'm desperately trying to save for a car. Any donations is greatly appreciated!!!!
You'll change our world for the better.
Thank you!

Im a 47 year old woman who recently graduated with my Masters degree in clinical psychology. After graduation I completed my 3000 hours of internship. Unfortunatley I lost my job, due to mental health cuts in my county. My husband is disabled with scoliosis, but was denied disability, he is appealing. My oldest son his wife and their one year old daughter lost their home and had to move in with us. Then my oldest daughter and her husband and new baby (born 10/03/11)moved in due to lay offs. I also have two dependent sons. I apply to job postings every day, I have been on thirty interviews in the past two years. My oldest son is in college, but none of the other adults in the home have been able to find employment. We live in San Bernardino county with a very high unemployment rate. We hired a lawyer to help us with refinancing, but after paying them (and them discovering the loan was country wide and fraudulant) they only increased our monthly payments. We are doing everything we can to avoid becoming homeless, but we are being told we dont make enough to keep our home. I dont know what our family will do or where we will go. If only I could find someone who could help us until I can find work. We wont have a Thanksgiving or Christmas this year, We can barely keep the babies in diapers, we often go hungry, Our electricity has been disconnected, and we have shut off notices for the remaining utilities. We have one barely running car, no insurance, no cell phone, no anything left! Please help. I cant accept through pay pal because we are overdrawn in the bank.

The Grasshopper and the Ant
A Classic retold by Joseph the Beggar King
Part One
Once upon a time, not so very long ago, there were two friends, the Grasshopper and the Ant. Why these two became friends is a bit of a mystery. The Grasshopper was a dreamer and a drifter. The Ant was a believer and an achiever.
In school the Grasshopper would look out the window without thought and only learned the subjects he found interesting. Sometimes he would fall asleep in Math class, other times when a angry teacher would jump him with a pop question he would give the correct answer in way that would confound them.
The Ant was a teachers dream, he soaked up every subject the system taught him, gave the correct answers in the correct way and got straight A s. He would delight his Math teacher by doing compound interest in his head. The Ant believed that what they taught him would help him succeed and was very completive. After graduating High School the Ant got an Academic Scholarship and the Grasshopper got a Pell Grant.
Within four years the Ant got two BS degrees in Business Management and Engineering. The Grasshopper dropped out after the first year. He went to live with the Rainbow Tribe for a few years. On the way to the bus station he found an old fiddle in a trash pile along the road and when he got station he was able to panhandle his bus fare. That was the Grasshoppers first beg.
The Ant took the College like a fish to water. During open Rush some Greeks invite him to be a brother in their Fraternity. He earned his dues by being the Frat Houses Accountant and made beer money by writing term papers. One day while visiting the Tri Deltas he watches the girls play volleyball and is amazed that even though they are playing a vigorous game not one of them breaks a sweat. It is there he meets the girl of his dreams, Polly Fishbane.
While the Grasshopper was living with the Rainbow Tribe he never meets the girl of his dreams, but it does not really matter too much because they believe in Free Love. So free, in fact, that after what you might call the Honeymoon he found himself getting a little bored with it. From the Rainbow Tribe he learns to live off the fat of country and from his new friend, Buffalo with Runs, he learns to live off the land. Buffalo with Runs was an very old Indian that was adopted by the tribe. He taught the Grasshopper what wild plants were safe to eat or use for medicines. He showed him how to set traps and hunt small game. Then, during one winter Gathering four people froze to dead because they were too stoned to come in out of the cold. The Grasshopper became very sad and hopped away.
The Ant is recruited by a Aerospace firm even before he graduated college and goes to work on the Apollo Program. He and his new wife Polly loved the Florida sunshine and settle down to start the American Dream. They decide to have two and half children. Even though the third kid looked a bit odd the Ant loved him as only a father can. With easy money down and mortgage tax deductions compliments of Uncle Sam, they get a house with a two car garage. Next they get two cars and the Rat Race is on. The Ant loves it! Working on the Apollo Program is more than a job, it is being part of history. Polly loves it! Raising their kids and Keeping up of with the Jones. She starts selling Avon products on the side. The Ant buys the best bass boat in the neighborhood, but only uses it once a year because he too busy working. He sets up his retirement funds and a small stock portfolio. Life is Good!
After leaving the Rainbow Tribe the Grasshopper panhandles his way across the country. He sets up in parks and subways where he pretends to play his fiddle while selling jewelry made of deer anthers and beads. The noise he makes with his fiddle sounds like a cat being killed and people give him money just to make him stop. Before the Cops run him off, the Grasshopper usually made enough in one day of begging to cover his needs for the week. When he is hungry he goes to a Soup Kitchen and when he needs clothing there are the Sharing Centers. Every now and then he lets some good hearted woman try to save him. Life is Good and he hops away.
The Apollo Program ends and the new Shuttle program does not start for a couple of years. The Aerospace company were the Ant works at does not win any of the new bids. They offer him a job in California at 20% less of his salary. Polly and the kids are in a rage. Nobody wants to move and leave their friends. The Ant sells his house at a loss because the real estate market in flooded by the laid offs. The one car and the boat are reprocessed. He sells off his stock portfolio for the down payment on the new house in California and even though money is tight the Ant decides to take the family on a short vacation to Key West to uplift their spirits. He finds the Grasshopper selling deer antler jewelry at the Front Street Market. While Polly and the kids go shopping, he and Grasshopper catch up and have a couple of beers. The Ant tells his friend about the laid offs and the move. The Grasshopper asks him - Are you Happy - ? The Ant says - Yes -. His friend says, - Good - . They watch the sunset and see a green flash on the horizon.
To be continue.

Single Dad looking for some help to continue to take care of their little girl
Posted by lilhoneysdad on 2010-10-26 20:58:58
Let me start by saying thank you for even visiting a site like this and taking the time to read my post. I wish things were different in my life and I did not have to resort to asking strangers for help But I dont know what else to do. Im not asking for a total resolution to all my financial problems we all have them Im just asking for what might be a little to someone but would make a HUGE difference in mine and my daughters life. I am a single Father of a beautiful 7 year old little girl who means that absolute world to me. Unfortunately things did not work out between me and her mother. I am a very responsible Father and I have been a VERY big part of her life since day 1. My daughter is with me EVERY SINGLE weekend and I LOVE spending as much time as possible with her. She is my little sidekick, my mini-me, we are 2 peas in a pod, frick & frack. If I knew being Daddy was going to be this much fun, I would have started when I was 18 and had several children. I still one day would like to have more, but it does not look like life is going to allow that to happen. I also have NEVER been called a dead-beat dad, never missed a child-support payment, and I provide my daughters medical insurance. This is where my problem starts. I have been working fulltime since I was 11 years old and now I am 37. I worked at what I thought was going to be the job I retire from. I had medical coverage for myself and my daughter that, although it was still costing me and arm and a leg, it was still affordable. For the first 5 years of my daughters life, I was able to provide decent-to-good medical insurance through the company. My daughters pediatrician was the same pediatrician her mom, aunt and 2 uncles all went to so she has been very familiar with the entire family history. This is something that I find to be very important for my daughters health. My daughter has asthma and several allergies. She takes 2 different inhalers daily (Flovent & Xopenex). Her condition has always been under very good control due to her pediatrician recognizing things early on and issuing the proper treatments. Everything has been fine up until the economy went south about 2 years ago. The company I worked for started doing lay-offs. I took that as a sign that I better do whatever I can to make sure I am not one of the people being laid off because I had my daughter to take care of and provide for. I worked nearly 10-12 hours a day Monday through Friday for a little over a year. With 2 of the bosses that were above me being laid off right away, I went into work every single day doing whatever I could to help the company survive and become stronger all around to help prevent as many lay-offs as possible. It got to the point that the company did have to file for bankruptcy protection- chapter 11. Even then, I worked even harder. Eventually things began to turn around and my hard work and dedication I believed was going to pay off. I was happy until the new owner who purchased the company out of bankruptcy came into town. Even with my hard work and dedication and me being a HUGE part of the companys survival, I was told I was going to be laid off. I was being replaced because the new owner already had someone for my position without even meeting me. I was not the only one, there were several of us that were replaced with the owners new staff. The only decent thing the new owner did do was give us all a 3 week notice. Fortunately enough, I went immediately to a competing company and they hired me. It was for roughly $7,000/year less and they offered medical insurance, but a much lower plan with a different insurance company. Again, my only concern was providing for my daughter, not myself. I took the job because it still pays much more than unemployment would have and if I were to collect unemployment, I couldnt take care of my daughter with medical insurance like she needs. During this same time, my daughters mom was able to get employment. Due to the waiting period at my new employer before I could get medical insurance, I agreed to have my daughter put on her mothers insurance plan and I would simply reimburse her. It started out being $350/month to have my daughter added to her plan which would keep her at her pediatrician and there would be no lapse in coverage for her but within 3 months, it went up to $404/month. That is the rate it has been at for the last year. It has gotten to the point where between child support and medical insurance, and not to mention a student loan I think Ill be paying off for the rest of my life, Im left with roughly $300 every 2 weeks. Out of this $300, I need to provide food for myself, gas for the car to get to work every day and to pick up my daughter every weekend, who lives 1 hour away now because I no longer could afford my apartment and moved back home with my 72 year old step-father and my 68 year-old disable mother who has muscular dystrophy. I have attempted to talk with my daughters mother about putting my daughter now on my insurance plan which is $130/month less and MUCH less coverage, but, if we were to do that, my daughter would have to change pediatrician because the doctor does not participate in the insurance my employer offers, plus it is a much lower plan and my daughters 2 inhalers are not covered under my very low prescription plan. Over a course of a year, I would wind up paying even more. This is where your GREATLY APPRECIATED donation would come in and be put to use. Again, Im not looking to be bailed out of all my financial woes, I want to be able to continue to take care of my beautiful daughter the way I have been her whole life and the way she deserves. Every day Im still trying to figure out a way to get through this, in fact, this is how I even found this website. I hope that something will turn out in my favor. This is also not my only attempt to get through this. I try to stay positive and I have been applying to many different jobs in hope that I can find a job that would pay more than my current rate or pay for medical insurance + child that participates with my daughters pediatrician at an affordable cost. If you can find it in your heart to help a good, genuine, honest, very loving Father with a little temporary relief until something works out whether it be a new job, or hopefully a raise in a few month please make a donation. Anything is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance. Please help.

LOOKING FOR A 2ND CHANCE HELP!!!
Posted by jojomontroy on 2010-08-02 14:58:58
Unlike most people Im sure I am here not because of natural disaster or even a job loss. I am here because I am in a situation that calls for help and I have to swallow my pride and ask. I would much rather help be in the form of a loan to consolidate everything so we can pay one payment. My husband and I are hard workers but due to poor financial decisions in our past we have debt and really want to pay back what we owe. The problem we are being swallowed whole and can not seem to get anywhere. (No there is no credit card debt) We need about 250,000 dollars to buy our home (we are currently renting to own) and pay off all our debt so we can have one payment. If we consolidate we can pay a monthly payment of no more than a 800.00 a month and interest can not be more than 24% for a term of up to 40 years. Our debt consist of medical bills, past utility bills (you know the ones you will pay later and later never comes),school loans, loan on harley davidson etc... Because of our PAST decisions and poor financial planning, lay offs etc... we are in a mess and our credit scores are to low for a bank to loan us the money so instead of paying 20.00 here and 20.00 there we can pay off everything and make one payment. Please help or at least point us in the right direction to get help. Please Email jojomontroy@yahoo.com

Claremont Optimist ClubDo any of you have children...
Posted by 0 on 2009-04-05 22:58:58
Do any of you have children that play Rec Sports or Optimist Sports? Well, at first I was just a parent that did not understand all of the ins and outs of our Optimist Club, however, two years later I am now the President of our local area Optimist Club and have learned that we have no money, and now do not have enough money to even pay for some of our field equipment that is financed much less new jerseys. I have tried some of the local merchants in our area for donations, but times are tough for everyone. We have 100+ kids at Claremont Optimist Club and are now into full swing of baseball season. We have t-ball, coach pitch baseball, machine pitch baseball, and kid pitch baseball.....We also have softball in all of the above categories. We need money, equipment, baseballs, softballs, jerseys, field equipment, basically anything to do with sports. We also have a football program that is very good for our community, and we are possibly at risk of not being able to run it because of our lack of funds. On top of that, it costs money to do many fundraisers, and we don't have it to get one started. Any money is some money for us so please help us out. We are in the heart of North Carolina and in a hard sruck county in need of whatever we can get. Please send any money, baseballs, softballs, equipment of any kind to 2032 Keisler RD SE, Conover, NC 28613. If it is checks, please make out to Claremont Optimist Club. We will send you donation forms for tax write-offs as well as thank you cards from our teams. Thanks for anything and everything you can do to get us on a path to being something good for our community.....You can also call me if you need more information about us...My name is Rick Sadler and my phone number is 828-312-5118....Thank you so much!!!!
