Community Building

Posted by baumanrdmbc on 2012-05-23 15:58:56

We are currently finishing construction on a 2.7 million dollar building that will be used as a community center here in Houston to assist with underpriveliged children, to assist in outreach to other homeless individuals,to function as a auxillary primary school, and to assist as we are able with other community needs. Through generous donations from our neighbors, we have built the entire external structure (approx 1.44 million) leaving only a little more than 1 million dollars left to complete the construction. This is a near and dear thing to my heart, as it's location in Northside houston in a impoverished community would mean so much to helping others in and around the houston area. This community building is sponsored by a local church, which has donated the first several hundred thousand dollars, and we are looking to complete it by November of this year, IF possible. All donors (if they ask) will be given a tax receipt for thier donation, as the organization is a 501(c)3 registered non-profit corporation. Please feel free to email if you have any further questions, and God bless you for your generous giving to this end, so we may better help people who are struggling in life.

Just $10-$20 from YOU, could help us make a dream come true, and possibly others on Begslist.com as well!!
As the housing bubble collapsed, my family and I could see the coming recession and its fall out coming. While my wife has a steady and secure job, and I ran a successful public relation business, we could not chance getting caught in the down pour of bad lending and foreclosure we saw coming. That was our last smart move.
As the recession, I might argue depression spread across the country and our town equally, like so many others, we found ourselves affected in ways we didn't see coming. My business began to fail, losing client after client to hard economic times, until those few clients who were left were asking for reduced costs, some even asking to keep services coming though they can not pay at this point. I have tried to oblige. I continue to serve many clients in trying to promote their products and services "pro-bono" so they can eek out a living in these times.
My wife has been great through all this. She works a steady "day job" to barely meet our monthly rent and bills.
We have tapped every credit card, and can't pay their monthly bills and fees. We have ruined our credit, believing if we could hold back the storm, and continue to help those we serve, we would be alright on the other end.
NOW, as home prices are finally in reach, we find that we can no longer qualify for the loan that would get us, and our five sons into a new home. With home costs once nearing and surpassing $200K, we can now buy the perfect home for $50K. That's what we're asking for now: $50K!! Banks, once far too anxious to give loans for over-priced homes to people who could not afford them, now turn us away for a much more reasonable loan that would actually lower our monthly expenses by almost 1/2. We now watch as wealthy investors snatch up the homes once financed by real families and foreclosed on. But in the time it takes to rebuild the credit we need to get financed, these moguls will have all of the properties and be renting them out to all of us who could not hope to own under these terms.
So we turn to YOU! A generous stranger, who can help make our dream come true. YOU can donate a small portion of this expense, and help us to make this dream come true. We are setting a goal of $50K, and hoping to beat the tide of greedy investors from owning what could be our new home. As we get closer to our goal we will use some of the thoughtful contributions we receive to repair the credit we have forfieted, so we might get the funding we need on our own through a bank. IF this happens, and we exceed donations needed, then we will donate the remaining funds to others on Begslist.com, including to the Begslist.com creator to continue to help neighbors help neighbors ... because we all need help sometimes!

Charity opportunity

Please help with this charity with their last-ditch effort to save a home from Foreclosure:

"We were able to convince the bank to give us 1 month before they do an auction and we end up on the street.
I believe that by asking you and other fellow neighbors and citizens for a small contribution will go a long way to helping us stay here so our kids can grow up and finish school.

Thank you so much for your consideration.

Money for MRI and hemiparesis recovery

Posted by donation on 2012-04-07 11:58:43

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is George Ivanoiu and I am the father of a child who had a dramatic birth which caused him a right foot and arm hemiparesis.

Adrian, my wife, had 2 more months to go before giving birth to a wonderful child Rares. However, on the 13th of May 1994 we had a quarrel with one of our neighbors from which contractions appeared and we had to go to hospital.

There, the doctor who had to assist Adrian said she can’t take one more
premature birth. In that time my child stopped from moving and had to
be artificially oxygenated when he was removed from his mother.

What is more, the nurse responsible for keeping the temperature constant in
my baby’s incubator felt a sleep so he was pretty close to being fried.

We have tried everything from movement exercises to alternative medicine but
nothing worked.

We are trying an MRI this summer to find out what happened that night, although we are in a short budget. Any sum of money is a blessing.

Please help!

New Roof....No Money!

Posted by FinancialWoes on 2012-01-21 13:58:38

Today we found out that it is going to cost us $8500 to get a new roof. Unfortunately, we have not been so fortunate in the financial department over the past year and a half.

Last year and just under a year before that, our dog decided it would be fun to break her leg. First the left, then the right. Due to the fact that her legs are too small for casts we had to opt for surgery both times. Well come to find out her right leg decided not to heal right and she had to have 2 additional surgeries. I'm not sure if anyone has ever had a dog in the ER...IT'S EXPENSIVE.

Well, after that, our fence decided to fall over...so we had to get a new fence. Due to the condition of the fence all the way around, we had to replace the whole thing. The neighbors didn't want to help, so we did what we had to.

Now.....we have to replace the roof!

I don't know what to do besides come on here and ask for help. We are both low income individuals, and I have just finished school and now have a HUGE student loan.

I am hoping someone has it in their heart to donate anything to help us out. I promise to always pay if forward.....to the next person.

We are just regular people, trying to make it through life. Thinking we would do right by purchasing our first home.....had only caused us financial woes.

Thanks for reading...

Please help my Father....

My Dad is a very hardworking, loyal, honest, determined, respectful and loving guy. He has raised me and my 5 siblings the best that we could ever imagine. Maybe we didn't have a million bucks laying around or live in a huge house but he always made sure we had what we needed and gave us more then material items. He gave us education, life lessons, and courage. He has taught us everything thru example and continues to do so. 14 years ago he started a company that over the years has provided for our family and helped many other families as well. However with the downfall in the economy it has had a dramatic effect in his business and he is about to loose everything. My Dad is the kind of guy that if he can see you are in need he will be there to help in whatever way possible. For as long as I can remember after he works for 9-10 hours at his job he comes home to help the neighbors move or help the elderly with yard work, or visit the sick. (He once gave up a vaction he was suppose to take to help a family in the neighborhood who's house had just caught on fire. For the week of his "vacation" they cleaned out the house. Saved what they could. Got things the family needed etc. He spent over $5,000 on this family instead of his vacation and he enjoyed it just as much) He is a leader of well known church which on top of all the additional things going on takes every spare second of his time. Never in my 26 years of living have I heard him complain. He has donated time, money and love more then I will ever know. But now he is in need.... His business is struggling. Starting this month he has cut his pay dramatically in hopes to save his company. He would NEVER ask for help because he is always worried about everyone else but it is his turn. Please find it in your heart to help him! Every little bit helps. I know you will be blessed! Thank you!!

Las Vegas Female Small Business Owner Desperate NEEDS Small Loan Please

Posted by VegasBizWomn on 2012-01-18 14:58:56

I do know this isn't conventional a normal post, however I ask you please to give me chance.

The economy sucks, don't we all agree?

Well it's hurt me badly as of recent months. However, I have finally some decent income coming next week. Utility companies do not want to listen to me when I tell them oh I have money coming next week, please, don't shut off my service. Since I am a small business owner I cannot get a payday loan or any type of assistance, I have tried. I have asked friends, neighbors and family to borrow the $ but even begging them has not got me a thin dime.

I need only five hundred dollars, yes, that's a rounded number for simplicity sake; I would love to get a gallon of milk, eggs and some protein in my refrigerator since I tired of looking at my pathetically empty refrigerator and freezer.

I can repay these funds within a week and am completely willing to pay a substancial amount of interest / fees for your trouble and willingness to help me. I do have some collateral , we could discuss. I need the $ before 5pm today, which is cutting it close, I know. Also I would prefer if someone could just Paypal the funds to me (since my gas tank is empty and the rather small time window).

Please help if you can, you will not be disappointed.

I have never done anything like this before but I am desperate today. I lost my job due to the company went bankrupt. I lost my 401 k because the company went bankrupt it wasn't much but it was mine.I lost my medical for my family and have no job. I was diagnosed with a lung problem and have to be on oxygen and inhalers, now I can not work. The medicine I need is very expensive, plus my husband is on meds for his heart which he had a massive heart attack and 4 stents put in, he is working so hard to keep us afloat I am scared he is going to end up having another. We can't keep up with the mortgage. In our life time we have always helped the ones that needed it. We have taken in friends and there family, our family members, our kids friends when they had no place to go.We have never asked for anything from them either because that is what friends and family do for each other. We have been bringing up our grandson since he was born he is now 14, his father died 2 yrs ago. He and his mother live with us also. We have helped our neighbors and still do today. We take care of the lady next doors yard for her because her children are to busy with there own lives. We cut her lawn, rake the leaves, shovel the driveway and I love her she is my friend. The man across the street has cancer and can no longer do his yard so we help out there. Sometimes I make food for them and send it over. My mother said if you do good in this world and help others it will came back to you 10 times. So I ask of you to help us with anything you can so we can keep our home and stay and help my friends. We are so behind on everything I just don't see the light at the end of the tunnel please somebody get me a flashlight thank you for listening thank you for giving and god bless you and yours I don't have a paypal but here is my address if anyone wants to help 87 Main St Riverside RI 02915

Need help to make ends meet, debt accumulating

Posted by Photolove23 on 2011-10-19 18:58:49

My husband & I try everything to make sure our sine has a safe and happy life. We have moved 3 times in the last 4 years for better jobs. Each time though with the costs for moving debt has accumulated on the credit card. My husband got his bachelors degree last year which he did while working full time + his military time. He is a hard worker but it seems like the $ runs out. I got a job this past year but I was barely making any $ after paying for daycare for our son. I left my job because my son was deveolping behavior problems and I was gone from the house 40 hours a week without much to show for it. On top of that, my father-in-law moved in with us from a different state, due to the fact he has been unemployed for almost 3 years and had to sell his house because unemployment ran out.
Things are just tight financially. Come to find out also 2 of our neighbors' homes were broken into this week so now we've been figuring if we can somehow afford a security system, which we can't.

We just need something to give. I'm trying to start a business but it takes time and $. If anyone can help it would really be appreciated.

Please Help Me Relocate My Talented & Gifted Kids to a Safer Place

Posted by Momskids8577 on 2011-10-11 13:58:25

I am a single mother of two talented and gifted children and a student of
the ADN (Associate Degree Nursing) Program at my local community college. On
Febuary 16th, 2011, my childrens father wipped out our entire savings and
checking account and the contents of our home, then disappeared. There was
absolutely no warning of this. My children and I simply returned home from
school to an almost completely empty house.

My immediate thought was that we were victoms of a burglary. However,
shortly after the police arrived, neighbors reported something even more
disturbing. My childrens father , along with three other men in a huge
company moving truck, spent most of the early morning and mid-afternoon
moving things out of our home. Neighbors said they thought we were just
moving. They suspected no problems. Even though he had taken every household
appliance, all electronics and my childrens cellos, keyboards and computers,
there was nothing the police could do. He was indeed a resident and on the
lease.

I tried contacting him on his cell only to find it disconnected. When I
called his office, I was informed that he had been seperated from the firm
for over a month.

This was awfull and my children and I were in need of answers. To cheer us all up, I decided that we should go out to dinner and
fun. That's when I found out about the accounts.

Although there was no furniture, well, only the childrens bedroom furnitue,
we remained in our home for as long as we could. I started working part time
at a call center at night while continuing my classes in the day.

We soon had to move of course. We were evicted for non payment of rent. I
found a one bedroom appartment that I could afford. This meant moving the
children into another school district.

At the time my daughter was in seventh grade, taking highschool algebra 1,
and highschool english1. Her other classes were all AP 8th grade courses.
She was also in orchestra with her cello. The new district does not allow
7th graders to take highschool class, so she was not able to continue on her
path. Not only did we have to face the challenge of academics, we also had a
severe problem with bullies. Because I had to be at school myself, the
children had to ride the school bus daily. In a horrible neighborhood, they
were beaten often and picked on daily because of how they talked and
dresssed. Telling the school principles and the police only made matters
worse for us and our apartment. The parents live in our aparments and they
are not happy with me calling the authorities on them. I have had widows
borken out in my car, tires cut and the front door of my appartment painted
with ugly words.

I sat out of school this semester in order to escort my children safely to
and from school each day.For now, I work at a call center
m-th 8am-3pm and sat 7am-4pm.

I am trying to move my children to a neighborhood they can be safe in and a
school that is able to meet them at their academic level and they can also
be safe in. If this could happen then I could return to my nursing studies
and the children could return to a safe environment and school.

I pay 400 per month for our one bedroom we are in now. I found some
apartments in a a safer neighborhood with schools that offer orchestra and
college prep courses. ( I have not been able to pay for any private lessons
scince their father left. And their new schools do not offer orchestra. )
The one bedrooms in this particular area are 750/monthly .

I am begging for help to raise enough money to move my children into a
better neighborhood before January so that I may continue in my studies and
they can safely do the same.
I have a 7 year old boy and 13 year old daughter.
I have completed all of my support courses for my nursing. I completed my
first year last year and this summer. So, there is only one more year
nursing school that I have before I graduate. I am pleading with anyone and
everyone to please help me. Any amount will help me reach my goal.
I am asking for help to maintain a 750 per month one bedroom apartment for
12 months. January2012 to January 2013.

Any amount that you can donate will be very helpful.
Thank you for taking the time out to read about my children and I.
Thank you

It is almost Christmas time. My funds are very low. I know I will not have money for Christmas. I have so many bills this year. I have used all my retirement and savings to caught up with my bills. I am on a debt plan and for me to stay on top of that I will not be able to buy Christmas. I would like to get my girls a laptop a piece to do their homework with a printer. As of now I either go to the library which is on the other side of town or I use my neighbors laptop. If anyway please help my girls.

Help a young man better himself

Hi, I'm a 21 year old man who just moved to a new city and am looking for a job.

When I was 17, I dropped out of high school. I made bad choices and was borderline homeless for three years.

Long story short, I smartened up and moved to a new city and state to live with my older brother. I got my GED and am enrolled at a local community college. Money is tight and the best career opportunities require I have a drivers licenses, why I do not.
All I simply need is $240 for driving lessons. I work part time at a restaurant and occasionally run errands for my elderly neighbors, but other expenses won't allow for extras.

Any amount will help.
Thank you in advanced

Logan's Heros

Posted by cori00125 on 2011-09-17 17:58:47

I am a 32 year old working mom of three beautiful children and I have the most wonderful husband anyone could ask for. We have the perfect mid-west life. We both work full time (and enjoy what we do), have a nice home, we're able to afford some luxuries in life although in moderation, that is enough for me. I enjoy cooking, and entertaining in my time off from work, and spending family time with my kids, parents, and neighbors. My children are Jordon (age 13), Logan (age 10), and Brianna (age 9). The kids are active in sports, and in our small community we are well known, and frequently can be seen volunteering at community events, church, and our local high school, of which we are both alumni. I live less than two miles from the home I grew up in. Sounds perfect if you ask me.

On February 18th, 2011 our son Logan (age 10) was diagnosed with a large brain tumor. He was not having many symptoms only occasional headaches. I was concerned that he may have been developing migraines and so I took him to see our family physician. His physical exam was normal including a rather thorough neurological exam. Dr. Arntz agreed with my initial thought and prescribed him some migraine medication. What a relief! He asked us to get a CT scan of Logan's head only as a precaution and he even stated that he didn't think there was any real concern, just a precaution. 5 days later, we were heading to the University of Michigan; Mott's childrens hospital because his precautionary CT scan had confirmed the worst for us. A 6 cm brain tumor in the posterior fossa of Logan's brain. Causing the cerebral spinal fluid to back up and create pressure in his head (hence the headaches).

Before leaving the house for the hospital we gave Logan a brief description of the problem, and explained to him that we didn't know what was going to happen next but we were going to the hospital to find out. You could see the worry on him but he was tough, shrugged his shoulders and said, "Well, I guess I better call it something, I think I'll name it Steve." So off we went, notifying family on the way to the hospital, and completely sick to my stomach.

Three days later we would embark on the scariest days of my life. Logan was promptly scheduled for surgery the following Monday and we were told there was a high probability that the tumor was cancerous. Dr. Cormac Maher performed 14 hours of brain surgery on Logan on Monday February 21st, and confirmed our fears that Logan indeed had a cancerous brain tumor called medulloblastoma. Then more bad news the post operative MRI showed that they had been able to remove all of the tumor and Logan would need more surgery. The next day he underwent another 6 hours of brain surgery. We caught it early but based on where the tumor sat he may not be able to talk or walk normally for 3-6 months. Lucky for us he talks and walks very well all things considered. But there has been radiation therapy and chemo therapy will continue until February or March of next year. There is a 75-80% chance of survivability, I feel blessed with those odds.

Logan is doing very well but this situation has put an incredible financial burden on us. I am falling behind on bills and need help. Andy is working constantly and I even started a second job on the weekends to try to help supplement the lost income from prescriptions, gas to and from the hospital, and just having to take time off work for appointments and Logan's sick days... I don't know what else to do. The banks have tried thankfully to work with us but our circumstance is not going to change for quite awhile longer. Our family's do not have a lot of money, and have already tried to help so much that I think it may be putting a strain on them as well. The church sends gas cards occasionally but there is just not enough to keep us going for the next year.

Here' s the kicker, Logan started his own Relay for Life team. I had taken him to a local expo about 3 weeks after he had been discharged from the hospital because I thought it would be good exercise for him to walk around and there would be lot's to look at, and there was a booth for the American Cancer Society. He walked up to the lady at the booth and he said " How old do you have to be to have a team?" She signed him up on the spot. Logan Bailey's Super Survivors have raised $8300.00 for the American Cancer Society! He's only a little more than $1600.00 away from his goal of raising $10000.00 for the Relay for Life. We've held auctions, bake sales, and concerts. It's been a wonderful distraction for him and he is super excited about reaching that fund-raising goal. We have asked our friends to contribute to his goals in lieu of giving us personal financial assistance. It's more important to me that his endeavors to do more for others, are successful.

We cannot change Logan's circumstance. He will always be a brain cancer survivor, and I will forever be a medullo-mom. But, if we can make this even minutely easier for others having to face it after us then we will do it. Logan donated "Steve the brain tumor" to medical research and he volunteered to participate in a medical research trial for his treatments. We hope that the money raised for the American Cancer Society will make a difference in research and support for anyone suffering with a cancer diagnosis. We hope that the research will make the work of wonderful, selfless, people like Dr. Maher and his team easier and more successful. If I had been diagnosed with this same type of cancer at the age of ten it would have been a terminal diagnosis... the research is working!!

I need help, I need financial help for my family so that we can stop the worrying over finances and concentrate on bringing our entire family through this successfully looking at it in a positive light and remembering that we did it with hearts full of love and with others in mind. Logan is a truly remarkable child and I am so proud of him. I anxiously await your response Thank you for your consideration.

Helping Angels Needed

Posted by believeinangels on 2011-07-11 00:58:17

I sit here with tears in my eyes and my heart. I am 50 years old and the mother of an amazing 14 year old daughter that until until 2008 lived with a mentally abusive and cruel husband and dad. At that time we left to move in with my 88 year old father. I had hopes of a new beginning for us,a chance to be able to be happy and feel comfortable and safe in our home, something I had dreamed of for my child. Then on April 1,2009, no April Fool's joke, everything went bad. After dropping my daughter off at school, I completely blacked out while driving in morning rush hour traffic. Some how I drove through traffic lights and turns and ended up parked in a grocery store lot where I walked around, all without seeing or hearing a thing. I came to for a moment as EMS was putting me in the ambulance. I woke up 36 hours later to the fight of my life. I was in the hospital for 30 days, battling organ failure and trying to regain my memory and abilities. While all this happened to me, my father passed away at the house. My daughter came home from school to find him passed away at the side of his bed and me no where to be found. My child saw this and had no idea where I was or if something had happened to me. It took hours before the neighbors found out I had been taken to the hospital.

Since that day it has been one battle after another, but we never give up. I had to learn to walk and write again and I am still waiting for disability. We have gone through every dime I had trying to pay the utilities and the second mortgage on my father's house. The house has holes in the floor in the kitchen, bathroom and my daughter's room and electric to only one half, but we never complain because we are thankful to have somewhere to call home. I am writing this because I have $49 to my name and bills to pay so we have a home and utilities. I have tried to sell everything we do not need, but that has not gone as well as I hoped. I have tried to find ways to work from home and that has not worked out as of yet. I have worked since I was 15 and I have never been unable to do so. I can not stand not being able to provide for my child. I am hoping that the same guardian angels that guided me to safety that April day will touch your hearts and allow you to help me keep my daughter from loosing the only thing we have left. When I get back on my feet I plan to help as many people on this site and in my community as I possibly can, because I know the stress and heartache that comes with times like this. I also know that more people than one may think are only a paycheck or two from loosing everything. Please help us and do me a favor, what ever amount you find in your heart you are able to give to us, take half of it and find someone else on this site that touches your heart and give that half to them as well. I thank you for any help you can offer and know that God will bless you here on Earth and in Eternity.
Hi

I have never had to beg before in m life. I can't believe I have to resort to this tactic at the age of 55 years old. Exhausting all my savings.

Here is my story.. In April 2008 I was laid off my Shop Manager job for a construction company after 5 years employment.

Shortly after I was only able to secure a Desk Clerk job at a old run down former Holiday Inn, here in Salina, KS.with a room as part of the compensation. After 2 years of employment there they had a infestation of bed bugs and the owner wouldn't do anything about it and I was really ate up by them, didn't know why I had bites all over me until I visited the emergency room. Upon returning to work I asked the owner to pay the hospital emergency room bill of $380. He said he would but still hasn't done so after presenting the bill to him.

I was able to get $106. a week unemployment though which put me living out of my 1989 Jeep pickup that I had. I built a box on the back that I cared my positions and slept in a Wal-Mart parking lot. I put ads on craigslist for house painting and got very few jobs but once in a while I could get a room so I could clean up and get some relief from the heat that summer sometimes hitting 106 degrees.

Finally August 5,2010 I found a job at a Car Detail shop and was able to get a cheap motel room. This is hard work now for a 55 year old man, but I persisted even though finding out the owner was a drunk. I came in on pay day one day in September only to be fired because he didn't have the money to pay the help. Even after filing a complaint with the Kansas Labor board he has managed to avoid payment.

Then I meet a man that had an old house for sale that was willing to help me out and I was able to make a deal to buy the small home for $2500. , $500. and $100. a month till paid for. No gas , No electric, No Water, it was a wreck none the less a shelter for the winter coming up. I put a ad on craigslist to sell my truck so I could make the deal and within a week a couple had purchased my truck and I was able to make the down payment and moved the few things I had left in and make a bed. The neighbors were nice people and insisted on running a electric cord through the window so I would have lights and I had a little electric heater to stay warm.

I was still running the ad on craigslist for painting and through the grace of god got a pretty good painting job that netted me $1300. After waiting 4 weeks to get paid for that job ( the company said the check was buried under paperwork on his desk when I called the day before Thanksgiving wondering why I hadn't received the check) right..

Any way I paid the payments up till February 2011

In November the city heard I was living in the house with out electric, gas and water and sent me a notice and posted a notice to vacate the premises with in 30 days or be fined $500. I called them and said I was working on it and they gave me till December to have it up to code and inspected for $150 city fee. I didn't know what to do but kept applying for jobs and praying for someone to call and have some painting done. A friend of mine was a electrician and came over and told me what I need to pass the electric inspection. I called around and there was one company that would do all the inspection so I scheduled the inspections and passed the electric December 24 2011 and I called to have it turned on and they couldn't do it till the 26th, all gone for holiday. The gas line was a different story, the plumbing company spent two day correcting the problem and left me with a bill of $1400. that I have only been able to pay $40. on.

A 50 year old man I had made friends with Russ, while working the motel told me he had to quit work because he
was dying from hepatitis and didn't know what he was going to do, he had been homeless while I was for a while, so I told him he could move in 2nd week of February 2011, he was waiting on unemployment and should be coming in any time now, But the motel wouldn't let him stay with out paying.

He did get a good size unemployment back payment and 2 days before the utilities were to be disconnected we got the utilities and the house payment caught up.

Because of the unemployment he was getting SRS has cut off his and my food assistance and he has been denied disability and has to get a lawyer to handle it. I have been applying to every job and submitting my resume to every job online and in the local paper with not 1 interview. I do have a company that said they will call me as soon as they get some work themselves.

Russ my roommate will get to were they have to extract the water that builds up around his organs. The Dr said he has anywhere from 1-2 years to live and I would like to make him as comfortable as possible. I cook all the meals and take him to Dr appointments and to pick up his medication.

The gas is all ready going to be shut off this next week because we missed a payment on the cold weather agreement and now owe $689.35

I do have a PayPal account where you can send assistance it is edwardahopkinsjr@gmail.com Mail to: Ed Hopkins Jr 331 N 11th St. Salina, Kansas 67401 We still have a cell phone 785-201-2347 if you would like to call.

Thank you in advance for your generosity,

Ed & Russ

P.S. I belive in the Pay It Forward System and will help at least 3 other people if you help me. I did donate $1. to BegsList I had $2. in my PayPal account. But I can't afford the $9.95 for the spotlight ad.

Trying to avoid being homeless

Hello,
I hope you can help, in Nov. of '07 I got injured in an accident and had to quit working for a while, and then in May of '09 my wife was diagnosed with melanoma/lymphoma cancer and had to have three surgeries. she then became disabled and we were able to get a little relief from SSI.
Even with that it was not enough but we were just barely getting by paying the electric and water bills, but not the rent, so I found a part time job (I am still looking for full time work)that helped a little, but still not enough.
Then in Oct of '10 we were told that she had about six months to live and things became really dismal for us as the bills kept piling up and her health was declining rapidly. We stopped trying to pay the medical bills and concentrated on just paying for her drugs for pain and suffering.
Then on Feb. 13th this year she passed away at the age of 49, a week and a day short of her birthday. That makes my situation even worse, by her passing, the cost of the cremation was close to $1200.00 and the SSI that we were getting stopped, leaving me with a mountain of unpaid bills and no full time work available in the area.
I have sold just about everything of any value to try and keep the water turned on, but I haven't had electricity since the first week of March. With my part time job and the odd jobs I do for my neighbors, when I can get them, I am able to keep some food in the house and some gas in the car, but with gas prices at almost $4.00 a gallon, I can't even get enough ahead to pay the deposit that the electric co. wants to turn the lights on.
So here I am, this is my situation, I am seriously in debt to the tune of about $85,000.00 in medical bills and back rent, my car is a P.O.S. but at least I can keep it running with a little bailing wire and bubblegum, the landlord is chomping at my heels for money that I don't have, cold showers really suck because the water heater is electric, and I am just about to my wits end, and I think I am too chicken to commit suicide to end my short term troubles with a long term solution. I really hope that there is someone out there that can help me out. May God bless you and keep you.
Thank You,
Steve
P.S. I would like to donate the $9.95 to showcase my story, but I can't afford that because my checking account is overdrawn by $425.75 for the last two months.
Thanks anyway,
Steve
