Car Broke Down, Need Transportation!
Posted by TuckerJ on 2012-05-23 22:58:14
I decided that the safest route to go would be to buy a scooter, as they're more convenient, there's less likely for something to go wrong, and they're cheaper and better on gas. However, I have absolutely no money to buy one, and since I have no vehicle or transportation what so ever, I won't be able to make it to work, and this will only make my situation worse.
I have found some very nice used scooters for $500 on craigslist nearby. I would so incredibly grateful if you could help me with this $500 and I will have NO problem paying you back $100 or more a month via. paypal until I have paid you off. I can't take out a loan because I'm only 20 and haven't developed enough credit to do so (trust me, I've been down that route).
If you do this for me, I will be able to get to work, by groceries, and keep on going until things get better for me. Also, I was recently accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and a scooter would be perfect for getting around a place like that.
That's all I need, just $500. I'll pay you back monthly, I'll also give you any information you need in order to prove to you that I'm good for it. I can even set up a contract (if need be) stating that I WILL pay off said vehicle by a certain date. Anything you give will help. I'll be extremely grateful for any amount you send and put it all towards a new mode of transportation so I can make it to work.
You can email me at tuckerjolmstead@gmail.com
Thank you very much for even taking the time to read this and consider.

Can't use FAFSA, Grants, or Federal Monies
Posted by Future-Engineer on 2012-04-24 23:58:19
I was born in Argentina, but have lived in Texas since I was 5. I had no say in it; my parents decided thatâs what was best for me since Buenos Aires was so crime-ridden. I graduated high school like normal kids, went to a community college right afterwards, and worked part time to cover its costs. I got an Associateâs in Science (Nursing) and then dropped out since I couldn't afford to attend a university nor decide on a major. My GPA was a 3.4 at the time.
I'm now 25, working full time (Geek Squad, canât do much with an associateâs), studying electrical engineering, married to my high school sweetheart, and have my goals set! I just have one thing holding me back...MONEY. Since I backtracked when I changed majors, I had a few sophomore classes to take. I'm finishing them at the same community college, and I'm registered for the Fall semester at the University of Texas at Dallas (Junior level courses). I have gotten nothing but As since I've been back!
Why I Need Your Help:
Now, you may be wondering, why can't I use FAFSA? Well, I recently obtained my permanent residence. That was a big roadblock growing up. One of the agreements I had with our nation was that I would not use federal funds (welfare, food stamps, grants, FAFSA, etc) for the next 10 years. I work full time and attend as many classes as I can per semester; I have no time for lollygagging.
Sallie Mae can only loan me so much, and banks nowadays make it very difficult to borrow from for school. All the scholarships Iâve looked for require either citizenship or full time enrollment, neither of which I am. (Canât enroll full time because I need to work full-time to make ends meet) My father is a construction worker and I donât know my mom, she left us when I was 7. I just sold my laptop on eBay and made myself a cheap one from recycled parts. I've tried getting internships, but I'm not deep enough into my career to be eligible yet. Nearby family members donât have any spare cash, and donât make enough to co-sign a loan for meâ¦.So Iâm here, hoping some kind strangers can help me out.
I am a hard working student, good Samaritan, bilingual, a jokester, drug-free, do calculus in my head, pay taxes, 740 credit score, and drive a broken down Pontiac. My only goal right now is to finish school with flying colors as soon as possible; just need this financial roadblock to meet a wrecking ball.
Will you help me smash it down?
REQUEST FOR LIFE
Posted by pally on 2012-04-14 21:58:03
Greetings, Me and my family are farmers located in one of the most remote and rugged regions of Himalayas in India where there are no access to roads or transportations. Our home and fields are situated over the mountain approx. 3500 feet above sea level where the weather is unpredictable which makes farming very hard and life unbearable. All the farm work is done manually by hand by the members of my family. We normally grow garlic in small quantities which we sell to sustain the family for a whole year. As there are no access to roads we have to carry the loads on our backs at times 50 to 80 KG to access the nearest road which is couple of hours down the mountain and is a back breaking process. Even to get small food items we have to be going through this exercise everyday for our survival. Our everyday diet consist of five or six rotis (wheat flour and water mixed and roasted like a pancake) with mostly dal (gravy made out of pulse) with occasional rice two times a day. At times we collect wild vegetables from nearby forest to supplement our diet. Because of lack of nutrition our health conditions also suffer many times in a year. Here even today babies are born in the house. Birth is supervised by one of the older village woman as there are no doctors or any qualified medical people. In cases of emergency we have to carry the patient on our back to the road and any medical attention can be gotten 15 kms further down the road. This has resulted in many deaths in past years with young and old.
Since last two years due to changing weather conditions and untimely rainfall our fields could not yield crops properly. We are poor farmers just scrapping through life trying to stay alive. Added to these problems last year three of my family members one of whom is a six month old baby had deteriorating health conditions which needed hospitalisation and medicines which cost us major portion of the money we could earn by selling our crop. Normally we earn about 50,000 INR in a year by selling garlic and we grow small quantities of wheat and corn enough to keep the family through the year. Due to these sufferings and extra expenditure am now in great distress to be even able to buy seeds to grow crop in our field to sustain ourselves. To have one morsel of food has become a nightmare for all of us and we are nine members in the family with two small babies of 8 months and two years. The future of our survival looks very bleak given the conditions and lack of health and finance to tend the field.
I would be highly grateful if your goodselves would consider me and my family a worthy cause to extend your help to us with 5000 USD which I can use to buy necessary seeds for the crops, few essential medications, a mule for transportation, fix the leaking roof of our home, do little maintenance to our field for yielding more crop and get me, my family andour field back on track as our field is the only source of our survival. My family consist of myself, my sick wife, two sons and two daughters, 2 small babies and a daughter in law. I can provide you with my family snap, address and bank account details upon your heart permitting to help me as whatever I have stated above is genuine and true. Me and my family are seeking this help not because we are lazy but because of protracted and extreme conditions beyond our control which we have been facing since two years continuously under the circumstances outlined above. We need a helping hand to get back on our feet again as your generosity would go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of my family and bring life back into our lives.
Awaiting your kindness and response.
Warm Regards
Negi

Some background:
I am a mother of three wonderful children. I was married to their father for ten years, unfortunately. as with too many these days, it did not work out. I do not regret our marriage, for it gave me three wonderful children who are all almost grown now. 21, 19, 16. When we were married, we both decided it best for me to stay home with the children and raise them within our family, although this is pretty rare these days. Once we divoced though, I could only find manual type (cashier, inventory, stock, etc) work as I was married straight out of high school and did not try to go back to work until they were all in school. I did not mind working sometimes three different jobs in order to have full time hours yet work around the kids school schedule, son's physical therapy and the usual "Mom" stuff. People kept saying go back to school, but I could not figure out how to work three jobs, be the full time mom and dad and add school. Unfortunately five years ago I started feeling ill, like the flu that never went away. I kept working through it, with my kids being older as much as I knew I needed to be there, I knew I needed to pay the rent/bills too, so I started working split shifts at the grocery store. I'd go in at 6 am until 2pm, come home, be here for after school and dinner, then rush back at six and work until 11 pm. All the while I was getting sicker. I was hospitalized three times during this period. Unfortunately no one seems to want to agree with whats wrong with me, I have heard several diagnosis over the years, but RA is the one and only proven ailment, although they feel I have an overlapping autoimmune disease. I have no insurance right now, and hoping to get the state insurance soon, but I have a feeling treatment is a long ways away.
I did not want to go the ssdi route until I had no other choice. Too bad that's not how the system works. I, for the last three years have been dealing with such pain and illness, a "real job" became out of the question, so I'd work here and there, whenever I could get work and be able to do it, as some days are a little better than others. Believe me, nothing is below me, I'm happy to scrub toilets, clean dog poo, I will do anything legal to make it, most days now though I feel so bad I can't do much .Well, I have finally reached that "I can't do stage", just yesterday my daughter had to get me out of bed as I could not move. Problem is, SSDI takes up to two years to get, which I didn't realize, so now due to my inane pride, I am absolutely stuck. I just know if I can get on top of the important bills, I will be able to continue as I have (fingers crossed) until the SSDI is accepted, which I did finally file for.
More important than anything else, I need to get some food in the house for my son. I truly don't care if I eat, as long as its enough to survive, which believe it or not is very little. However, I want my growing son to be able to eat when he's hungry and have good healthy choices along with the occasional treat. My 19 year old is very self sufficient and has moved into her own apartment and after taking college courses all through high school is on the right track. My 21 year old moved out when she graduated high school and she too finished college and is self sufficient. (she has now moved back in with her daughter) That's why I only mentioned my son. I have plenty of clothes I can donate as he grew so fast, many very nice, and also more than willing to repay any amount, just can't promise when.
Please, any help at all, anything, is greatly appreciated. Food is first and there is a very cheap store nearby where I can grocery shop. Bills are secondary right now, so believe me, every bit helps. Thanks for reading my story and giving your time and any help you may be able to handle.
Please help. Stranded in Oregon.

TRYING TO TAKE CARE OF MY FAMILY

I feel horrible doing this
Posted by Blackbirde01 on 2011-07-07 04:58:37
Since then I have been black listed by them when it comes to applying for other jobs. My room mate and only friend who lives around here, also worked with me and quit at the same time as me for the same reason. We both ended up having to terminate our lease in april after selling everything we owned other than our clothes, cars, my grill and a few necessities. I have no family to move back to, my parents are non-existant. I have lived out of my car and at a rest stop nearby for a good 4 months. I'm down to my last $5 due to last night my brake cables and brake fluid lines rotted out in my car from the terrible salting from the harsh winters. I finally have a job starting but I cant afford to get my car repaired now and that is going to compromise everything. I'm so worried about what I will do, the job pays bi-weekly and my first pay check wont be for 3 weeks after starting. Getting my car fixed means everything to me right now. Without it I am stranded. I bought the parts already but the service and labor fees are what is killing me the most. It will run about $200-300's.
Again I hate to beg, I feel so horrible even considering it, it feels so beneath me. I've always been the kind of person to donate and stick up for the people who are hard up, but now that I am in this position I dont know who to turn to. I'd be eternally grateful and will try to find some way to make it up if I can. God bless you all and may you never be put in this horrible situation. I would never wish it upon anyone :(
Love and hope to everyone

## Please Help Me End This Crippling Circle of Debt !! ##
Posted by Jh6Fg45TdF34 on 2010-08-25 17:58:58
Im Brian. My wife and I had been struggling financially for around 10yrs which inevitably put a lot of strain on our relationship.
Three years ago when our beautiful daughter was only 7yrs old my wife had an affair which resulted in a baby. I took the difficult decision to have her back and bring up the baby together to try to keep the family together and not ruin our daughters future. It wasnt easy but unbelievably my wife did the same thing again only a year later and eventually left home not something for any child to have to suffer
Since seperating and leaving me with all our debts Ive been struggling even more than before whilst bringing up our (now 10yr old) daughter on my own.
We almost lost our home twice in the last 2 years, the second time I stopped an eviction only an hour-and-a-half before being repossessed by paying around £600 to the mortgage company that was really scary, wondering where we were going to live if it all went wrong.
Within weeks a debt collection company tried to make me bankrupt for a £1500 debt. I paid the full £1500 on time but then the courts added £1800 for solicitors costs! It took me many months to find and pay the £1800 by which time they clamped on another £1500 in costs for chasing up the first set of costs which is still part of the bankruptcy order!! I really need some help in finding this money to stop being made bankrupt and our house taken from us.
At the same time I hadnt missed any payments of £100/mth to a bailiff for an old Council Tax bill until my daughter accidentally put a car window through whilst playing out with friends. Although her friends ran away she knocked on peoples doors nearby to own up to it (gives you an idea of how shes been brought up). So proud of her for owning up but didnt help financially - I ended up paying a full weeks wage of around £300 to pay for the damage.
A knock-on effect was to miss the bailiff payment by 1 week which I caught up with straight after. Even so, they threatened to take my car, tv, etc if the balance wasnt paid within 48hrs!! So there went £400 plus an extra £90 in fees!! Another thing I could have done without. Two big bills in 2 weeks. Unbelievable!!..
Life just isnt fair sometimes. Ive tried long and hard to hold onto what Ive achieved so far on my own only to be taken away by companies who dont really care about the real suffering and mental torture that it causes people.
I work full time but the money is never enough to get out of this circle of debt. My credit report has been in tatters for years with CCJs, defaults, missed payments, etc. Its slowly turning around, but not quick enough. I just cant bear the thought of another 10yrs of struggling ahead of me and not being able to really live and be able to spend more quality time with my daughter before she gets too old and leaves home herself with not much to look back at. I dont want to be seen as being a failure to her after all that shes been through.
If anyone can help then please donate what you can. To be honest, I dont want to just take peoples money ...I want to be able to give it back once were comfortable again. Seriously, if theres any way that you can give a donation and provide your e-mail address (unless it shows up after a donation has been paid through PayPal) so that I can PayPal it all back to you plus a little extra as a big THANKYOU for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
Thankyou,
Brian
