Car Broke Down, Need Transportation!

Posted by TuckerJ on 2012-05-23 22:58:14

My 1997 Chevrolet has stopped running. I overpaid $2700.00 for it, and now to fix it, it will cost more than it's value. I live far away from my job where I just started working this week after looking for work for more than four months. So in a nutshell, I'm completely broke.

I decided that the safest route to go would be to buy a scooter, as they're more convenient, there's less likely for something to go wrong, and they're cheaper and better on gas. However, I have absolutely no money to buy one, and since I have no vehicle or transportation what so ever, I won't be able to make it to work, and this will only make my situation worse.

I have found some very nice used scooters for $500 on craigslist nearby. I would so incredibly grateful if you could help me with this $500 and I will have NO problem paying you back $100 or more a month via. paypal until I have paid you off. I can't take out a loan because I'm only 20 and haven't developed enough credit to do so (trust me, I've been down that route).

If you do this for me, I will be able to get to work, by groceries, and keep on going until things get better for me. Also, I was recently accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and a scooter would be perfect for getting around a place like that.

That's all I need, just $500. I'll pay you back monthly, I'll also give you any information you need in order to prove to you that I'm good for it. I can even set up a contract (if need be) stating that I WILL pay off said vehicle by a certain date. Anything you give will help. I'll be extremely grateful for any amount you send and put it all towards a new mode of transportation so I can make it to work.

You can email me at tuckerjolmstead@gmail.com

Thank you very much for even taking the time to read this and consider.

Im Looking For Donations For My Disabled Homeless Brother

Posted by tazbo68 on 2012-05-12 22:58:51

Im searching for anyone who can help my disabled brother Doug Ramos who has been homeless for a year now. He's sold about everything he owned except for his van that he lives in, so he has nothing else to work with to get money to help himself. Im very saddened & stressed out over his situation & I can only do so much because I dont have any income, since Im disabled myself & am waiting on an approval for my SSI & Disability case. So I just came across this website & posted this to hopefully get him some help with money or shelter. My family has done all we can and unfortunetely my dad is still having to work 7 days a week because he cant afford to retire and he doesnt even have enough $ to pay all his bills, so he cant help Doug except for paying for his cell phone & my mom is totally crazy & Doug just finally broke all ties with her which is a blessing. If & when I get my SSI & Disability then I can help my brother more but in the mean time he needs all the help he can get. He bounced out of the back of a moving truck going 85 mph and he received a settlement, since he was badly injured mentally & physically. However, sadly it was stolen from him. He has been struggling to survive and is waiting to get disability as well. He's now staying in his van in Manteca, Calif, so if anyone nearby can help him with a place to stay or feed him that would be awesome & we would appreciate it immensely!!! Doug is a very decent & honest Christian man who has never been on drugs & doesnt even drink alcohol, which Im very proud of!!! If you can help him with donations or a place to stay call me (Tammy Ramos) at (209)481-4792 I live near where he's staying & so it wont be a problem taking any donations to him.I dont have a pay pal acct. but will set one up if necessary.I will also accept donations by mail with checks made out to Doug Ramos so call me & I will give you my address. Thank you & May God Bless You All!!!!!!!!!

Can't use FAFSA, Grants, or Federal Monies

Posted by Future-Engineer on 2012-04-24 23:58:19

Background:

I was born in Argentina, but have lived in Texas since I was 5. I had no say in it; my parents decided that’s what was best for me since Buenos Aires was so crime-ridden. I graduated high school like normal kids, went to a community college right afterwards, and worked part time to cover its costs. I got an Associate’s in Science (Nursing) and then dropped out since I couldn't afford to attend a university nor decide on a major. My GPA was a 3.4 at the time.

I'm now 25, working full time (Geek Squad, can’t do much with an associate’s), studying electrical engineering, married to my high school sweetheart, and have my goals set! I just have one thing holding me back...MONEY. Since I backtracked when I changed majors, I had a few sophomore classes to take. I'm finishing them at the same community college, and I'm registered for the Fall semester at the University of Texas at Dallas (Junior level courses). I have gotten nothing but As since I've been back!

Why I Need Your Help:

Now, you may be wondering, why can't I use FAFSA? Well, I recently obtained my permanent residence. That was a big roadblock growing up. One of the agreements I had with our nation was that I would not use federal funds (welfare, food stamps, grants, FAFSA, etc) for the next 10 years. I work full time and attend as many classes as I can per semester; I have no time for lollygagging.

Sallie Mae can only loan me so much, and banks nowadays make it very difficult to borrow from for school. All the scholarships I’ve looked for require either citizenship or full time enrollment, neither of which I am. (Can’t enroll full time because I need to work full-time to make ends meet) My father is a construction worker and I don’t know my mom, she left us when I was 7. I just sold my laptop on eBay and made myself a cheap one from recycled parts. I've tried getting internships, but I'm not deep enough into my career to be eligible yet. Nearby family members don’t have any spare cash, and don’t make enough to co-sign a loan for me….So I’m here, hoping some kind strangers can help me out.

I am a hard working student, good Samaritan, bilingual, a jokester, drug-free, do calculus in my head, pay taxes, 740 credit score, and drive a broken down Pontiac. My only goal right now is to finish school with flying colors as soon as possible; just need this financial roadblock to meet a wrecking ball.

Will you help me smash it down?

REQUEST FOR LIFE

Posted by pally on 2012-04-14 21:58:03

Dear Sir/Madam
Greetings, Me and my family are farmers located in one of the most remote and rugged regions of Himalayas in India where there are no access to roads or transportations. Our home and fields are situated over the mountain approx. 3500 feet above sea level where the weather is unpredictable which makes farming very hard and life unbearable. All the farm work is done manually by hand by the members of my family. We normally grow garlic in small quantities which we sell to sustain the family for a whole year. As there are no access to roads we have to carry the loads on our backs at times 50 to 80 KG to access the nearest road which is couple of hours down the mountain and is a back breaking process. Even to get small food items we have to be going through this exercise everyday for our survival. Our everyday diet consist of five or six rotis (wheat flour and water mixed and roasted like a pancake) with mostly dal (gravy made out of pulse) with occasional rice two times a day. At times we collect wild vegetables from nearby forest to supplement our diet. Because of lack of nutrition our health conditions also suffer many times in a year. Here even today babies are born in the house. Birth is supervised by one of the older village woman as there are no doctors or any qualified medical people. In cases of emergency we have to carry the patient on our back to the road and any medical attention can be gotten 15 kms further down the road. This has resulted in many deaths in past years with young and old.
Since last two years due to changing weather conditions and untimely rainfall our fields could not yield crops properly. We are poor farmers just scrapping through life trying to stay alive. Added to these problems last year three of my family members one of whom is a six month old baby had deteriorating health conditions which needed hospitalisation and medicines which cost us major portion of the money we could earn by selling our crop. Normally we earn about 50,000 INR in a year by selling garlic and we grow small quantities of wheat and corn enough to keep the family through the year. Due to these sufferings and extra expenditure am now in great distress to be even able to buy seeds to grow crop in our field to sustain ourselves. To have one morsel of food has become a nightmare for all of us and we are nine members in the family with two small babies of 8 months and two years. The future of our survival looks very bleak given the conditions and lack of health and finance to tend the field.
I would be highly grateful if your goodselves would consider me and my family a worthy cause to extend your help to us with 5000 USD which I can use to buy necessary seeds for the crops, few essential medications, a mule for transportation, fix the leaking roof of our home, do little maintenance to our field for yielding more crop and get me, my family andour field back on track as our field is the only source of our survival. My family consist of myself, my sick wife, two sons and two daughters, 2 small babies and a daughter in law. I can provide you with my family snap, address and bank account details upon your heart permitting to help me as whatever I have stated above is genuine and true. Me and my family are seeking this help not because we are lazy but because of protracted and extreme conditions beyond our control which we have been facing since two years continuously under the circumstances outlined above. We need a helping hand to get back on our feet again as your generosity would go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of my family and bring life back into our lives.
Awaiting your kindness and response.
Warm Regards

Negi

I posted this "beg" shortly after New Years, and have posted under rent yesterday as well as I have found out I will lose our home if I don't pay asap. I am new to this and believe me, far from lazy, just very ill. I would happily repay anyone once I get my ssdi awarded or work off anything on my "good days" when I can move around. I was amazed when I got an email that a woman donated to me, and for that, I am forever grateful. I am just praying more people see this and find it in their hearts to help if they are able to. I just copied the original one and its as follows:

Some background:

I am a mother of three wonderful children. I was married to their father for ten years, unfortunately. as with too many these days, it did not work out. I do not regret our marriage, for it gave me three wonderful children who are all almost grown now. 21, 19, 16. When we were married, we both decided it best for me to stay home with the children and raise them within our family, although this is pretty rare these days. Once we divoced though, I could only find manual type (cashier, inventory, stock, etc) work as I was married straight out of high school and did not try to go back to work until they were all in school. I did not mind working sometimes three different jobs in order to have full time hours yet work around the kids school schedule, son's physical therapy and the usual "Mom" stuff. People kept saying go back to school, but I could not figure out how to work three jobs, be the full time mom and dad and add school. Unfortunately five years ago I started feeling ill, like the flu that never went away. I kept working through it, with my kids being older as much as I knew I needed to be there, I knew I needed to pay the rent/bills too, so I started working split shifts at the grocery store. I'd go in at 6 am until 2pm, come home, be here for after school and dinner, then rush back at six and work until 11 pm. All the while I was getting sicker. I was hospitalized three times during this period. Unfortunately no one seems to want to agree with whats wrong with me, I have heard several diagnosis over the years, but RA is the one and only proven ailment, although they feel I have an overlapping autoimmune disease. I have no insurance right now, and hoping to get the state insurance soon, but I have a feeling treatment is a long ways away.

I did not want to go the ssdi route until I had no other choice. Too bad that's not how the system works. I, for the last three years have been dealing with such pain and illness, a "real job" became out of the question, so I'd work here and there, whenever I could get work and be able to do it, as some days are a little better than others. Believe me, nothing is below me, I'm happy to scrub toilets, clean dog poo, I will do anything legal to make it, most days now though I feel so bad I can't do much .Well, I have finally reached that "I can't do stage", just yesterday my daughter had to get me out of bed as I could not move. Problem is, SSDI takes up to two years to get, which I didn't realize, so now due to my inane pride, I am absolutely stuck. I just know if I can get on top of the important bills, I will be able to continue as I have (fingers crossed) until the SSDI is accepted, which I did finally file for.

More important than anything else, I need to get some food in the house for my son. I truly don't care if I eat, as long as its enough to survive, which believe it or not is very little. However, I want my growing son to be able to eat when he's hungry and have good healthy choices along with the occasional treat. My 19 year old is very self sufficient and has moved into her own apartment and after taking college courses all through high school is on the right track. My 21 year old moved out when she graduated high school and she too finished college and is self sufficient. (she has now moved back in with her daughter) That's why I only mentioned my son. I have plenty of clothes I can donate as he grew so fast, many very nice, and also more than willing to repay any amount, just can't promise when.

Please, any help at all, anything, is greatly appreciated. Food is first and there is a very cheap store nearby where I can grocery shop. Bills are secondary right now, so believe me, every bit helps. Thanks for reading my story and giving your time and any help you may be able to handle.

Please help. Stranded in Oregon.

My story is simple. I am on the road with my boyfriend and we are trying to get to Seattle. He has a job waiting for him there. We thought wehad enough money to get there but our car needed repairs. We are now stranded at a gas station outside of Portland, OR. We haven't eaten in two days. We have asked eveyone we know for help and they are unable. I don't know what else to do. I do not have a PayPal account and neither does he. We are gratefull for any help we recieve. We just need $200 to get us to Seattle, WA. There is a western union nearby. You can contact me by email for more information at vivien_west@hotmail.com. I will gladly return the favor.

Gratefully yours,

Christmas For My Brother

Posted by sweetheartsx on 2011-11-01 14:58:42

When I was younger, I was lucky enough to be around when my parents were together, had money, and doing okay-ish (granted we were still living in a horrid environment, but I still have my Barbie Talkin Town House!). My brother, who has many mental/speech issues, has not experienced Christmas but 1 in his 9 years. Dad went to nursing home w/ multiple sclerosis, mom had to run business in dangerous neighborhood, meanwhile our apartment nearby got taken because the contract expired...basically, for the next few years we financially got worse and worse. Even now, our 'stable home' is to be foreclosed.
Anyway, all I ask for is Christmas presents for him. He's a boy, so obviously guy stuff. He loves the lion king, remote control things, anything with animals. Please, please make this little boy's Christmas.

PLEASE HELP - TOWNS NEW WATER RATES ARE DROWNING US

In order to “live the American Dream” my husband and I moved 600 miles from our home town. We were actually doing ok, until now. My husband hasn’t seen a pay raise in the past 5 years and no raises are planned for the future. Three years ago he picked up a second job to supplement our income since we were coming up short. I also work full-time but with three children and no family nearby a second job is out of the question for me. Then the ultimate bomb hit. The town we live in decided that we needed an increase in our water rates to pay for a new treatment facility. The increase is over 300 %. No I am not exaggerating. Look at the Town of New Windsor, MD website. The proof is in black & white. We now can no longer pay our bills. Our first quarterly bill is estimated at over $600.00. I need financial help and I need it desperately. The only way out of this is to either move (and real estate is not selling) or better myself finish my nursing degree and get a better paying job. I ANY help from you would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your kind generosity.

I feel horrible doing this

This is as bad as it gets for me, I hate begging and I dont want to be a burden on society but i'm at my breaking point. 4 years ago out of high school I started working at Wal-mart, I started as a grocery stocker and made my way up to be a team lead as a truck unloader and supervisor. Things were great until last october when I witnessed a fellow employee being sexually harassed by someone underneath me. We filled a sexual harassment report with the managers but they blew us off. Since they refused to do anything to the kid he kept it up and then started underminding me as a supervisor because he knew he was getting away with it. I was told I needed to just "do the job" by another manager and the girl eventually quit after the kid assaulted her and tried to force himself on her in the parking lot. I was demoted and given the really bad jobs because of my "failure to supervise", then myself was picked on by the managers who used me as the scape goat. We tried talking to a lawyer but the case wasnt very good and would cost us too much. After months of being tormented and letting the kid crawl under my skin for the last time, I went to the office and told them I cant work for a company that endorses sexual harassment and sexual predators to work for them. I quit and regretfully didnt stay the two final weeks of the notice.

Since then I have been black listed by them when it comes to applying for other jobs. My room mate and only friend who lives around here, also worked with me and quit at the same time as me for the same reason. We both ended up having to terminate our lease in april after selling everything we owned other than our clothes, cars, my grill and a few necessities. I have no family to move back to, my parents are non-existant. I have lived out of my car and at a rest stop nearby for a good 4 months. I'm down to my last $5 due to last night my brake cables and brake fluid lines rotted out in my car from the terrible salting from the harsh winters. I finally have a job starting but I cant afford to get my car repaired now and that is going to compromise everything. I'm so worried about what I will do, the job pays bi-weekly and my first pay check wont be for 3 weeks after starting. Getting my car fixed means everything to me right now. Without it I am stranded. I bought the parts already but the service and labor fees are what is killing me the most. It will run about $200-300's.

Again I hate to beg, I feel so horrible even considering it, it feels so beneath me. I've always been the kind of person to donate and stick up for the people who are hard up, but now that I am in this position I dont know who to turn to. I'd be eternally grateful and will try to find some way to make it up if I can. God bless you all and may you never be put in this horrible situation. I would never wish it upon anyone :(

Love and hope to everyone

Need a Home for my Kids!

Posted by Nyuki on 2011-04-21 20:58:25

Hello, I am a wife of 2 toddlers who lives in Georgia. My husband and I have been married 3 years and are still living with his mother. We have not been able to afford moving out because of our school loans and certain old bills that have not been paid. We have over 60,000 in loans. As we all know, it is hard to find a decent job that pays enough to live and more. We have absolutely nothing right now, not even a car to drive. We are sharing a car with his mother and other family, and there are too many people cramped in this small apartment. My kids, 2 and 9 months, have no room to play and run around, and with no car or nearby bus, I am unable to take them to the park. We have every type of government assistance possible, but it is not enough. We barely have enough to buy diapers. I have had a very abusive life, so I got married when we weren't financially straight and we have been seriously suffering ever since. If anyone can donate anything, whether it be a dollar, an old car or a paid contract to an apartment/house of our own, that would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you! God bless!

A friend of mine told me about Begslist and told me to post a plea for help. Hi!! My name is Linda. Three weeks ago my apartment complex in South Philly was destroyed by a 3-alarm fire. I was not home at the time when the fire started. When I came home, I stood in disbelief while my home of two years was burning. Most of all the apartments, including mine were heavily damaged. The fire marshall gave some of us only a brief amount of time to retrieve what we could carry and leave. I told the marshall where my apartment was and he told me that area was a complete loss and I could not retrieve anything. I was referred to a hotel nearby as a temporary shelter paid for by a non-profit group helping the fire victims until they set me up with a homeless shelter. I am still at that homeless shelter. Thanks to the non-profit group, I have some clothes and shoes. I have very little or no pocket money. Some of the money I had stashed away at the apartment was lost along with some valuable possessions. Although my job is part-time and pays very little, I could not afford renters or fire insurance because it interfered with the rent, utilities etc.. I have nightmares about that fire everyday. It has left me emotionally depressed. I'm asking anyone reading this posting to please donate what you can. Even if its $1, $5, $10, whatever, your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Thank you!!
A friend of mine told me about Begslist and told me to post a plea for help. Hi!! My name is Chet. Three weeks ago my apartment complex in South Philly was destroyed by a 3-alarm fire. I was not home at the time when the fire started. When I came home, I stood in disbelief while my home of two years was burning. Most of all the apartments, including mine were heavily damaged. ## Please Help Me End This Crippling Circle of Debt !! ##

Posted by Jh6Fg45TdF34 on 2010-08-25 17:58:58

Hello. I’m not one to ask for help with anything (I guess that I’m too proud to ask) which is why it wasn’t easy writing to a site like this. But all the same, here’s only a fraction of my story and hope that after reading this you would be kind enough to help out in any way that you can…

I’m Brian. My wife and I had been struggling financially for around 10yrs which inevitably put a lot of strain on our relationship.

Three years ago when our beautiful daughter was only 7yrs old my wife had an affair which resulted in a baby. I took the difficult decision to have her back and bring up the baby together to try to keep the family together and not ruin our daughter’s future. It wasn’t easy but unbelievably my wife did the same thing again only a year later and eventually left home – not something for any child to have to suffer…

Since seperating and leaving me with all our debts I’ve been struggling even more than before whilst bringing up our (now 10yr old) daughter on my own.

We almost lost our home twice in the last 2 years, the second time I stopped an eviction only an hour-and-a-half before being repossessed by paying around £600 to the mortgage company – that was really scary, wondering where we were going to live if it all went wrong.

Within weeks a debt collection company tried to make me bankrupt for a £1500 debt. I paid the full £1500 on time but then the courts added £1800 for solicitors costs! It took me many months to find and pay the £1800 by which time they clamped on another £1500 in costs for chasing up the first set of costs – which is still part of the bankruptcy order!! I really need some help in finding this money to stop being made bankrupt and our house taken from us.

At the same time I hadn’t missed any payments of £100/mth to a bailiff for an old Council Tax bill until my daughter accidentally put a car window through whilst playing out with friends. Although her friends ran away she knocked on peoples’ doors nearby to own up to it (gives you an idea of how she’s been brought up). So proud of her for owning up but didn’t help financially - I ended up paying a full weeks wage of around £300 to pay for the damage.

A knock-on effect was to miss the bailiff payment by 1 week which I caught up with straight after. Even so, they threatened to take my car, tv, etc if the balance wasn’t paid within 48hrs!! So there went £400 plus an extra £90 in fees!! Another thing I could have done without. Two big bills in 2 weeks. Unbelievable!!..

Life just isn’t fair sometimes. I’ve tried long and hard to hold onto what I’ve achieved so far on my own only to be taken away by companies who don’t really care about the real suffering and mental torture that it causes people.

I work full time but the money is never enough to get out of this ‘circle of debt’. My credit report has been in tatters for years with CCJ’s, defaults, missed payments, etc. It’s slowly turning around, but not quick enough. I just can’t bear the thought of another 10yrs of struggling ahead of me and not being able to ‘really live’ and be able to spend more quality time with my daughter before she gets too old and leaves home herself with not much to look back at. I don’t want to be seen as being a failure to her after all that she’s been through.

If anyone can help then please donate what you can. To be honest, I don’t want to just take peoples’ money ...I want to be able to give it back once we’re comfortable again. Seriously, if there’s any way that you can give a donation and provide your e-mail address (unless it shows up after a donation has been paid through PayPal) so that I can PayPal it all back to you plus a little extra as a big THANKYOU for your thoughtfulness and generosity.

Thankyou,

Brian

Help for IT Student in Albuquerque

Posted by wolfline on 2010-08-13 09:58:58

Please help this 47 year old student returning to school and out of work for three months. I have only a few quarters left at ITT Tech in Albuquerque to complete my associates degree. I recently had to turn a vehicle in after the lease was up and was unable to get credit for another vehicle, after a recent divorce left me with all kinds of bills. I will get caught up eventually, but finding work while riding the bus or my bike has been hard at best. I need money to buy a scooter, an inexpensive mode of transportation. The IT world is sure to provide a decent living, but employers are not hiring until after graduation. For the time being, I am working part time at a nearby restaurant. The money from that job is not enough to pay rent, but if I had at least some kind of way to get around it would be much easier to find a better job. Thanks in advance for all your support.
