My husband and I have 2 children. We live in NC. First off I want to point out that reading most of these posts you can tell they are scams, they don't even type proper english. But this is no sob story of me loosing my house I am just looking for a good-hearted person possibly trying to help someone out. I am a 19yr old sophomore at college in Boone, NC. I am going to school to get a degree in elementary education and have to work 25-50 hours a week (on top of 18 hours in college, which if you ever went you know is not an easy task on its own) in order to pay bills. My parents have been split up since I was about a year old and neither have extra money to spare. Between tuition, car insurance, car payment, rent, food and cell phone bills I am stressed out and my grades seem to be slipping. I would just like a little less stress in this busy life of mine. Recently lost our apartment and are now staying in a cheap hotel. All of our belongings are in storage and we are praying that we have enough to at least keep the rent up on that, let alone keep a roof over our head as well right now.
We need some help to relocate. Since I have no health insurance and have had a recent hospital stay that wound up wiping out any money we had left, and left us with a lousy credit rating. My husband has a job opportunity in Raleigh NC, if we can get there and find some housing.
I'm a veteran and am hoping that maybe some other vets could help us out. We aren't asking for a free ride, just some help in getting us back on our feet until my disability claim kicks in.

Hi, I hate to beg..its not my nature but I had menegitis and almost died guess it wasnt my time to go but I lost everything, my house my career as an electrician and my health. Im 48 and live in an apartment now but it is tough, I used to make decent money as an electrician but I had to stop and file disability...Now I live on that and I have a 9 year old son that doesnt want me to quit. I have a wife and she says it not about the money which is true,,,but I know she worries...we live in an environment where there are some pretty shady people and I hate having put us in this situation..10 years ago we owned our own house and I had a career but now we live in constant stress...we are from San Diego but moved to NC because I thought there may be work and I was a Marine here in the 1980s, I got sick soon after getting here and it has been very difficult. I dont want to take out a payday loan, I dont believe in that I would accept even a dollar from someone who could possibly help...I only want to help raise my son who is a great kid and is happy with what he has...I appreciate any help anyone can give...Dave

I have been out of work since Sept 1st due to a major stomach surgery. My husband owns a construction company and Dec 13th, he fell off of a roof and broke his back. He was airlifted to have surgery and remained in hospital for 2 weeks. He is home now, but cannot work for at least 6 months. I have looked for a job everywhere and thusfar have been unsuccessful in locating one. Our monthly bills are well over $2000 and we have absolutely no income. I have been to the local church and they gave me some food for which I am grateful, but it wasn't much and it was a one time deal. I am so scared that I am getting ready to lose everything. I have a 12 yr old honor student and I don't want her to have to change schools, which will happen if we lose our home. Hello, I am a young college student who is struggling to stay in school financially and better my life. Growing up my family actually went down in class from working class to working poor. My old home was and still is in terrible shape. The loss of relatives and equaled loss of income sources, and the house just fell apart and turned into a hoarding house. As a child, I dreamed of having more and it was suggested that the way to upward mobility was through college. I chose to take this route, but I didn't realize how difficult it would be for a low income student to stay in school. If I don't get and opportunity to make some money while in school, then I can't finish.
I need a full-time 2nd or 3rd shift job, or I need part-time job where I am guaranteed at least 20 hours and $8.00 per hour. It is a struggle to stretch a financial aid refund check for literally 6 months to cover expenses during school and living when school is not in session. I need this job to be in Greensboro, NC. I am open to all job possibilities, but I need to not travel with this job. I have to just go to the job site, perform my task, and go home. I have many skills, but my best assets are my trainability and enthusiasm for learning. I also am resourceful and will adapt to whatever situation I am in. Hello all ladies and gentlemen. I am in need of whatever kind of help I can get. I am a young full-time college student, and I'm trying to pull myself up by my own bootstraps so to speak. I grew up in a crowded house with my mom, grandma, great-grandma, uncle, and little sister. I didn't grow up with much money, but I always had what I needed. As I got older my family's financial worsen as the adults started dying off. All of the adults contributed to this pot, and when we lost an adult we lost contributions that were detrimental to our livelihood. Meanwhile I was a stellar student and had aspirations outside of my living conditions. This sometimes didn't float well with my family, and it showed in their actions often. I realize now, that they probably didn't want me to discover how disappointing it is when you hit and miss. I feel like that happened to them often.
I realize this is a long story, but maybe this background information can help you understand why I am asking for what I am asking. I think I am from the first (or one of the first) generations where college was thrown down everyone's throats. We're the classic Barney, Arthur, and Sesame Street kids. I don't know if the Baby Boomers were as forced as we are. After all, this is suppose to lead to upward mobility. I was fed that if I did not take this route, then I would be destined to poverty and an uncertain future. I realize now this future is even more uncertain than what I was expecting it to be. I've learned that a college degree doesn't guarantee certainty, and that you actually need quite a bit of help just to get through.
I am and have been own my own since I started college 3 years ago. Forget not having the extra money when I need at times. I don't have a strong support system, and my house at home is almost unlivable now. I do not have my license or a car because no one practiced driving with me, and I can't afford to pay for driving school, the car, and the insurance to get me started. I got tired of having to leave campus and figuring out where I was going next and how I was going to get there, so I found a student friendly apartment. It's nice to not have to move because I usually don't have help, but I am struggling to keep it. I am desperately seeking work in whatever kind of way I can have it. I get full financial aid, but it's hard to stretch 2 refund checks over an entire year.
I'm finally getting to the point. I currently live and study in Greensboro, NC. I am a dean's list engineering student. I learn most things quickly, and I am not afraid of real work. I need a full-time job or a part-time one that will give me 20 hours + a week. I would prefer 2nd or 3rd shift, but if I have to take a break from school to get myself together I will. I will take any resources that can give me some good leads on scholarships, internships, fellowships, and co-ops. Lastly I will take any financial help I can get while I'm waiting on the others. On 9/20/11 I was driving a tractor trailer in Lamar, Pa, delivering a load to New Jersey when my truck caught on fire. To escape certain death I had to jump out of the burning truck, sustaining injuries in the process. A few minutes later the truck exploded and was incinerated. There was no driver error. Everybody who hears my story tells me that I'm lucky to be alive. However, Ive been out of work ever since. I do have legal representation in a workers comp case pending in Pa. My lawyer informed me that it may take up to a year before I start receiving workers comp benefits because my employer failed to have workers comp coverage while operating his business in Pa. I have absolutely no income. I lost my home and is now staying with a relative, sleeping on his couch. My car was towed due to expired tags. My bill to get my car out of the tow yard is now $2500 and rising daily. If I dont get my car out I will lose it in less than two weeks. I'm in serious pain daily from my injuries but cant get medical treatment because I dont have medical insurance and is forced to wait until I begin receiving workers comp benefits before I can get medical treatment. I applied for and was denied public assistance because I have only joint, and not full, custody of my 6 year old daughter. Even though NC Dept Of Social Services sympathized with what happened to me they told me that nc dss policy dont allow a parent with only joint custody of his child to get public assistance despite the fact that the nature of my occupation (over the road commercial transportation)prohibits me from having full custody of my child. I cant work until I receive treatment for my injuries. I dont know what else to do for money while waiting for my workers comp case to go through.I currently cant even provide food for myself and my daughter. Everyday I'm sinking deeper and deeper into destitution, anxiety and depression.I am sincerely hoping that somebody will read my story on Begslist and decide to help me. I am a hard working American citizen that, through no fault of my own, was involved in an on the job incident that left me injured, homeless, carless and destitute. last night while he was in town, he was told his house was on fire, he rushed home hurried to grab the
garden hose to save what he could, only he fell and had to go to the hospital where he fractured
several ribs and tore something in his for arm,which is wrapped and in a sling.
today he can hardly move for the pain.
he lost 4 kittens and the mama cat, every photo he had of his kids and so much more.
unfortunatley he didnt have insurance on the house.

he has a 19 yr old son living with him.

the fire dept probably did as much damage as the fire. they didnt try to seal the section off and work
on it, they soaked everything , every room.. so much that the ceiling fell in.
no one has contacted him most of the day, no one offered to really help these people..

i came home, got on the phone and called the red cross in albemarle nc, the lady said we cant do anything
till we hear from the fire marshall,
so we tried to call the fire marshal.. this was like 2 pm today..(friday) no answer left a message, it is now 11:30 at night.
.still no reply back.
someone did tell us he wouldn't contact them till he finished his investigation, that could be days,
called a church here, they said yes we help but we go through stanly county christian ministries call them.. so i called them
they said well, he needs to bring something showing his house burnt..i said lady its not as if they give to a certificate to hand out
when your house catches on fire.. i can give you the norwood police number, or the fire marshal to verify it..
around 5-6 red cross call's my friend.. tells him they are going to put he and his son up in a hotel in albemarle for the weekend.
. and he never heard back from them.. its now 11: 30 at night. i called the hotel they said red cross did call, but they didn't
send the paper work or call back.
thank god for the one friend he does have who is letting them stay at his house tonight, and giving them a hot shower,
and a place to rest. if left to the red cross i guess they would be sleeping in the yard.

this is crazy.. his house is totaled from one end to the other, nothing is untouched by smut and water,
no power, no clothes..not even a pair of socks.
charities are so eager to take your money, .but it seems to take an act of congress to get help if your the victim,
this is a good guy, he has volunteered his time endless times, days on end at the community table to feed people just
down the road. he'd help anybody he could,and has a wonderful son.

things they could really use,
clothes,
if there is anyone who might work in construction that has left over wood 2x4's, 2x6's
plywood, sheet rock, flooring,
anything it doesn't even matter if its scrap.
if anyone has some gently used furniture, beds, blankets.

still believe in helping, you just have to find a way to let them know you need it.

My name is Audra and I am 22 years old. I live in NC and the doctor just found skin cancer on my scalp. They had to shave part of my head and remove the cancer. Luckily for me it was basal cell carcinoma, which of the 3 types of skin cancer it's the least harmful one to get. Of course I was upset, and my ego hurt from missing my hair, but I cannot afford insurance and I have to pay the medical bills out of pocket. It is hard for me to ask others for money because I've always taken pride in working for what I have. My dad is the only living parent I had and he cannot afford to help me right now because he lost his job. Any help, if possible, would be appreciated.

I am in desperate need of funds to get from MS to NC. as of right now, I have $22 dollars in my pocket and $8 in my paypal account. I need at least $300 to get up there.
Long story short, my baby's father and I had a falling out when I was about 7 1/2 months pregnant, so I left. We have finally fixed things, and my son is now 5 1/2 months old. His father has never held him. I've sent pictures, but they are nothing like the real thing.

please help us out! we have no money for rent this month because 2 roommates moved out and now the bills fall on us, paid whole elec. bill when it got cut off (it hasn't been paid in a while apparently) and water bill also (same case there) :( we have only one income that we work on together, but that's not enough for this little surprise, please help me raise some money (( rent itself is 500 plus utilities )) to feed us and keep us sheltered for the next month when we only have 12 dollars in my bank account to live on for the next couple weeks. we've tried mowing lawns and everything, but we live in a run down neighborhood, so all the manual labor jobs are taken by less fortunate people :(
