Can't use FAFSA, Grants, or Federal Monies

Posted by Future-Engineer on 2012-04-24 23:58:19

Background:

I was born in Argentina, but have lived in Texas since I was 5. I had no say in it; my parents decided that’s what was best for me since Buenos Aires was so crime-ridden. I graduated high school like normal kids, went to a community college right afterwards, and worked part time to cover its costs. I got an Associate’s in Science (Nursing) and then dropped out since I couldn't afford to attend a university nor decide on a major. My GPA was a 3.4 at the time.

I'm now 25, working full time (Geek Squad, can’t do much with an associate’s), studying electrical engineering, married to my high school sweetheart, and have my goals set! I just have one thing holding me back...MONEY. Since I backtracked when I changed majors, I had a few sophomore classes to take. I'm finishing them at the same community college, and I'm registered for the Fall semester at the University of Texas at Dallas (Junior level courses). I have gotten nothing but As since I've been back!

Why I Need Your Help:

Now, you may be wondering, why can't I use FAFSA? Well, I recently obtained my permanent residence. That was a big roadblock growing up. One of the agreements I had with our nation was that I would not use federal funds (welfare, food stamps, grants, FAFSA, etc) for the next 10 years. I work full time and attend as many classes as I can per semester; I have no time for lollygagging.

Sallie Mae can only loan me so much, and banks nowadays make it very difficult to borrow from for school. All the scholarships I’ve looked for require either citizenship or full time enrollment, neither of which I am. (Can’t enroll full time because I need to work full-time to make ends meet) My father is a construction worker and I don’t know my mom, she left us when I was 7. I just sold my laptop on eBay and made myself a cheap one from recycled parts. I've tried getting internships, but I'm not deep enough into my career to be eligible yet. Nearby family members don’t have any spare cash, and don’t make enough to co-sign a loan for me….So I’m here, hoping some kind strangers can help me out.

I am a hard working student, good Samaritan, bilingual, a jokester, drug-free, do calculus in my head, pay taxes, 740 credit score, and drive a broken down Pontiac. My only goal right now is to finish school with flying colors as soon as possible; just need this financial roadblock to meet a wrecking ball.

Will you help me smash it down?

Funding For A New Clothing Company

Posted by abduction51 on 2012-04-08 16:58:55

Hi Everyone!

My name is Tony and I am in the process of starting a new clothing company called Abduction 51.

It has been my dream for around 7 years now to have my own clothing company which I can pass onto my children in years to come.

I have put many many hours into the business so far to try and get things started and I have managed to get as far as getting a small amount of prototype tshirts printed.

I am now working on the launch line, which is where I really need your help! I have a business partner who is a designer and together we have been working all available hours to create designs for the launch line. We are really close to completing our launch lineup but we are really struggling to get the funds to put our launch line into production.

My funding target is £2000. The £2000 target is to cover the costs of getting our apparel manufactured and market it.

We would really like your help to help us to make this dream a reality!

Once we have established our brand name and the company is doing well, we want to bring out a clothing line where all profits will go to local and nation charities.

No donation is too big or too small!

Thank you for taking the time to read my Beglist advert.

Tony

I'm in need of $5,000 to greatly help my situation. I'm 33, have been disabled all my life, I have a seven year old at home. Due to my disability, I have not been able to find work due to transportation problems. Also, I would like to finish my degree and go to Law School. Times are indeed tough, but that's what makes us a great nation, when we see the needs of others and we reach out.

University Undergrad needs help to finish school

Hello people with disposable income,
I am student currently studying to become an engineer. The money is tight and I could use the help of an anonymous donor to pay some of my ever increasing bills. I live frugally and have very little free time to enjoy these days. My part time job only pays me enough to cover my food and part of my rent. Work now takes up most of my free time and I feel like the mounting stress is tearing me down. My degree will be a tool by which I can affect positive change to my community and nation. Anything to help would be incredible. Regards

Help Me Help Them

Posted by uhelped on 2011-10-17 14:58:00

Can you see yourself helping thousands of people with a one time donation of $100?

The last two years of my life has been the most difficult financially, but the most rewarding on a spiritual and mental level.

I would not trade these two years for anything in the world.

Like most people, who had never experienced homelessness, I didn't have any idea what the true needs of our nation's homeless were. Most of us think of only food and clothing.

Seeing it from the other side, I have not only seen the need, but will do something about it. 50% of all proceeds from my business (international trading company) will go to meet those needs.

The start-up cost for my business are $3,000. If you can't spare $100, anything will help. By helping me, you will help hundreds of people in Colorado Springs, and eventually, thousands of people across the nation.

Help Me Help Them!

My husband and I are lifelong radio personalities and producers. We have enjoyed a good life and always a good income. When the largest radio conglomerate in the nation fired (layoff my a$$) everyone over 40 we lost our jobs. Our 401K was the first to go. It fed us and we paid a premium to the IRS. Our savings account of 20,000 is long gone for rent, utilities, our internet bill so we can search & apply for jobs, and food. My husband has heart failure. He requires 10 medications a day. We couldn't pay our land line so this means the data can't be fed from his pacemaker to the cardiologist's office isn't being transmitted and has not been for over two months. We worked our way up. We scrimped and saved. Neither of us smoke, we don't use drugs, we do not drink, we do not waste money. I shopped for us at a Goodwill in the River Oaks area, the best clothes in town as far as resale goes; even when times were good. My unemployment pay of $800 monthly is gone 3 months now. His is $812 and our rent & utilities are combined; $725 monthly which is the least expensive we could find - is not paid almost 2 months as of August 1. We face being homeless very soon. Not a slice of bread in our house. We have sold our wedding bands and every piece of jewelry we had. We've sold our furniture; the best pieces. We are down to nothing. The social service agencies are out of funds as so many are in the same position. If you can find it in your heart to help us, it would be a blessing as we pray without ceasing. We thank you in faith and divine hope. Thank you for reading our post and we'll hope for miracles.

I will provide professional audio editing and we both will provide voiceover work sent to you via e-mail on an mp3 file. We are working people and we are more than willing to work to earn any help for us.

A SOCCER PLAYER NEEDS HELP OF CLUB TO PLAY

Posted by nimshawnla on 2011-05-21 05:58:07

Attention,

I am Angel Alaba Abiola Animashaun by name, i am a complete athlete, i run several metres , i run marathon but my most active and which am very good at is soccer. I have all the skills , the fitness, the stamina it takes and the mental reasoning of playing soccer.Other athletic activities i do have vastly helped me in the energy, the strenght of playing soccer for hours everyday. I do other athletic games once in a while but i play soccer everyday, i train twice everyday, i train with my club in the morning and in the afternoon but i and other players do not get paid but i play it passionately without holding back for anyday. I enjoy playing soccer and play it with the whole of my strenght inspite the environment is holding me down to go to the next level.I played throughout my schooling levels to the High school level. I have been playing with couple of youth club inspite of young age right from high school.

Soccer is my priority in life, i meditiate on it everyday even in my sleep, all i think and want to do for the rest of my life is playing soccer.I have been playing soccer right from my tender age from which i have played in couple of academies like Pepsi football academy and more like it.Soccer is politicalised in Nigeria and in Africa as a whole. One has to know one or two person(s) who are politically connected before been allowed to enter any open camp and to play in clubs even without tryout and this extends to the national team selection.Football selection in Nigeria is attached to Godfatherism and whoever do not have any Godfather that is politically connected will not be given any attention.I will like to play soccer in any peace loving nation.

I would want you to please do kindly link me up for any tryout participation to come prove myself and i am very sure of myself if am allowed a chance in any tryout with %100 transparency of the coaches unlike Nigeria. I beg you to please kindly help me by linking me up for any trial available and i am very ready to heed to whatever it will cost.Kindly get back to me for any trial chance possibilities.I will be waiting to read back from you as soon as possible .

I am a 19-year-old student of sociocultural anthropology who also has a strong interest in ecology and the environment. My life's dream is to one day start my own ecotourism company that employs local people in developing nations, encourages responsible and environmental-oriented travel, increases cultural awareness, and gives back to the community. In the past I've been lucky enough to participate in several overseas tours with such companies; I financed my most recent trip by working the night shift in the dairy and frozen foods department of a local supermarket for several months. However, the one nation that I have always dreamed of working in is Zambia: a landlocked nation in southern Africa brimming with diverse landscapes, breathtaking natural beauty, and friendly people. Unfortunately, poverty remains an ongoing problem in some rural parts of this nation. My ultimate goal when visiting Zambia is to communicate with some of the local people in their own languages (I've been studying Bemba and Nyanja) in an attempt to better understand the social, political and economic climate of Zambia, support local lodges, hostels and safari guides, and learn more firsthand about environmental issues in this beautiful and fascinating land. Of course I always prefer to work hard for such travel and research opportunities, and will be perfectly honest when I say that there are many people on this website who need cash donations for reasons far more vital than mine. For a student who is currently unable to find work, I am unsure of how I'd pay for a trip to Zambia at some point next winter. I will continue to search for work and strive towards once again earning the money myself, but if anyone wishes to supplement the costs of my travel with a very small donation, I will certainly be thankful! If I can find 2,000 people who can each give just 50 cents, I will be well on my way towards realizing this dream. Thank you for your time and support!

Japan earthquake and tsunami: How to help

Posted by lucycampbell on 2011-03-12 16:58:03

Japan was hit by one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded on Friday. The magnitude-8.9 quake spawned a deadly tsunami that slammed into the nation's east coast, leaving a huge swath of devastation in its wake. Hundreds of people are dead and many more are still missing or injured.

Japan has often donated when other countries have experienced disasters, such as when Hurricane Katrina impacted the United States. Below are organizations that are working on relief and recovery in the region.

AMERICAN RED CROSS: Emergency Operation Centers are opened in the affected areas and staffed by the chapters. This disaster is on a scale larger than the Japanese Red Cross can typically manage. Donations to the American Red Cross can be allocated for the International Disaster Relief Fund, which then deploys to the region to help. Donate here.

GLOBALGIVING: Established a fund to disburse donations to organizations providing relief and emergency services to victims of the earthquake and tsunami.

SAVE THE CHILDREN: Mobilizing to provide immediate humanitarian relief in the shape of emergency health care and provision of non-food items and shelter.

SALVATION ARMY: The Salvation Army has been in Japan since 1895 and is currently providing emergency assistance to those in need.

AMERICARES: Emergency team is on full alert, mobilizing resources and dispatching an emergency response manager to the region.

CONVOY OF HOPE: Disaster Response team established connection with in-country partners who have been impacted by the damage and are identifying the needs and areas where Convoy of Hope may be of the greatest assistance.

INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL CORPS: Putting together relief teams, as well as supplies, and are in contact with partners in Japan and other affected countries to assess needs and coordinate our activities.

SHELTER BOX: The first team is mobilizing to head to Japan and begin the response effort.

Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami

Your gift to the American Red Cross will support our disaster relief efforts to help those affected by the earthquake in Japan and tsunami throughout the Pacific. On those rare occasions when donations exceed American Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters.

Hello everyone,
I am a young man aged 25yrs,living with parents or rather at their mercy.I completed my education by securing a Master's Diploma in Advanced Biotechnology and was previously employed as a Business Development officer with a Pharmaceutical concern. But things had never been easy with me.

The company I worked used to exploit my abilities vastly and I was paid only USD 1800 a year. They also delayed every incentives that was earned by me,eventually this led to a aversion for the job and the company I worked for and I did Quit it a couple of months ago. They are yet to pay me my dues........

I always had a dream to become a big entrepreneur someday and always had thought I would develop and venture the family business into new arenas where there would be lots of revenue. But my Dad never consents to my ideas and treats me as if I am a retard. He always challenges me to begin a business on my own and generate revenues greater than him in order to prove myself.

Hence my financial freedom is at great stake now........even after being educated and having been honest in the way I lead my life I have lost the basic essence of living a life being separated from my financial freedom, career and the Entrepreneurial dream which is now desperately begging your help.

My idea of Business: my nation of stay is a large agro-based economy. The major percentage of its revenue comes from agriculture. The most needed product in the agriculture industry is Fertiliser. But the Government is now encouraging the use of Biofertlisers more. Many big corporate houses has already ventured into this market and earning the profits. But as is the way,in the very competitive market of our country two things say the final word : Money and Hard Work.......the market demands and the supplier has to deliver, quality and high price doesn't finds the buyer nor does smart ideas.

Now for such an Industry, money is needed of all things even to step out a little and so long I have found no concerns that is ready to lend money without some conditions like:
1. Mortgage of Property:I don't have any,I am a little more than a slave for my parents.
2. Credentials form a past Business: If I really had a Business of my own,I wouldn't have went to ask money from a lender.
3. Smart Business plan: I have made many plans but none of them seem to satisfy any investors who always looks for whats in it for them........I am tired convincing them honestly and I have no money to build a flawless project report from experienced consultants.

Hence,my last resort is here,to grab a pan and beg a fortune.Gentlemen,I know the amount I ask for might be enormous except for the lucky millionaires and billionaires who spends such an amount overnight partying or buying an expensive vehicle for their near and dear ones........but it is also true that this amount can change an unlucky man's life forever.

I am not the kind of person who would login every other day and spam the net with heart breaking stories and ask someone else to pay my bills for eternity.........

I am someone who wants to take control of his own life that had been massacred by misfortune.

For that,I need your help now.........any benevolent person who had been blessed with wealth and opulence please help me take control of my life. For me it would be a miracle and as my last resort,I would be convinced that there are kind souls still on earth for whom money is not everything but greatness is.

I have no Paypal account as of now, please find me at this email address here : don2028@gmail.com,if you think you can help this beggar here.

May the Almighty bless you with all luck and prosperity,

Regards,
Unlucky1.

Your generosity can give a new lease on life.

Times are indeed tough, but that's what makes us a great nation, when we see the needs of others and we reach out.
