Car Broke Down, Need Transportation!

Posted by TuckerJ on 2012-05-23 22:58:14

My 1997 Chevrolet has stopped running. I overpaid $2700.00 for it, and now to fix it, it will cost more than it's value. I live far away from my job where I just started working this week after looking for work for more than four months. So in a nutshell, I'm completely broke.

I decided that the safest route to go would be to buy a scooter, as they're more convenient, there's less likely for something to go wrong, and they're cheaper and better on gas. However, I have absolutely no money to buy one, and since I have no vehicle or transportation what so ever, I won't be able to make it to work, and this will only make my situation worse.

I have found some very nice used scooters for $500 on craigslist nearby. I would so incredibly grateful if you could help me with this $500 and I will have NO problem paying you back $100 or more a month via. paypal until I have paid you off. I can't take out a loan because I'm only 20 and haven't developed enough credit to do so (trust me, I've been down that route).

If you do this for me, I will be able to get to work, by groceries, and keep on going until things get better for me. Also, I was recently accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and a scooter would be perfect for getting around a place like that.

That's all I need, just $500. I'll pay you back monthly, I'll also give you any information you need in order to prove to you that I'm good for it. I can even set up a contract (if need be) stating that I WILL pay off said vehicle by a certain date. Anything you give will help. I'll be extremely grateful for any amount you send and put it all towards a new mode of transportation so I can make it to work.

You can email me at tuckerjolmstead@gmail.com

Thank you very much for even taking the time to read this and consider.

Deserving Musical Miracle

Posted by GuitarMom on 2012-05-08 23:58:23

I am seeking help to pay for my son's college tuition and associated fees. My son has been accepted to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. It is an honor for anyone to be accepted to this esteemed institution, however my son's story is quite exceptional. When he was 10 years old, he nearly lost his right arm due to a post-surgical bleed. He was diagnosed with a bleeding disorder known as von Willebrands. He has been left with a disabled arm and hand. He only has use of his thumb on his right hand. His childhood was comprised of surgeries and infusions. When he was 12 years old, he asked if he could buy a guitar. He was so happy because he had seen Tommy Emmanuel playing guitar with a thumb pick on television. He purchased the guitar and began working on a technique to play. He can only use his thumb to pick the guitar strings and must hold his fingers in a special position so that he does not mute the strings. His goal since age 12 has been to study at Berklee. It is an honor to be accepted to such a fine school. Despite a severe disability he has been able to achieve this remarkable goal. Financing his education is going to be extremely difficult. Berklee is an expensive college and scholarships seem scarce. If you know of any scholarships that would be available for him please let me know. If you feel like you want to donate, it is much appreciated. Thank you so much for your time.

Please this would be my very first live concert and it would be from my favorite singer too. Please help me as much as you can it would be so nice to get away for a while.

Homeless, full of dreams, down on luck

Posted by bombataconflict on 2012-04-17 13:58:40

Just got out of a 3 year codependent relationship where alcohol was chosen over me when it came down to it.

I'm withdrawing from my addictions to alcohol and cigarette (two months and 3 weeks tomorrow!), and I have most of what I need.

My problem is that I came to Portland Oregon with a guitar that within a few days was broken and stolen in an act of betrayal.

It's been my dream to move to a city and make music for a long time, but this has been put on hold, and now it is harder to make money, and I can't work a conventional job right now because of my withdrawals.

Can you help me out? Anything would be good.

Hi, my name is Steven I decided to quit my job and pursue my music full-time. I have the opportunity to move from Cleveland to Chicago, possibly work with some more experienced artist, and learn more about the business. I do have plans on getting a job but everything seems to be moving really slow. So what asking for here is about $600 so I'm not a complete burden on the people who are kind enough to let stay with them temporarily.

Thank You for your consideration.

Study at SAE Institute Liverpool

Posted by helpplz on 2012-03-18 18:58:33

Hi, I am aspiring to be a music producer. About two years ago I decided that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life, which is why I spend so much time practicing, every spare minute I have is spent learning new aspects of audio production. I'm so dedicated to this, all I wan't to do is produce music.

I still feel that my skills are lacking in a few different areas, so last year I started sending out applications to studio's around the UK, the replies that I got stated that I need a degree in Audio Production to be able to work in a recording studio. So since last year I have been searching for an institute to study at and found an amazing place to study called SAE Institute in Liverpool. The course is a 2 year BA/BSc (Hons) Degree in Audio Production, and after the course ends you are prepared for work in any sector of the audio production industry, from music production to live sound and broadcast, post production for film, video and TV. So there are many different roots I would be able to go down if I was lucky enough study there.

I have managed to save £4000 up to now, however, the fee's and living expenses amount to around £29,000, (this is a link to view the living expensis http://www.saeuk.com/downloads/FeeSchedule(Combined)Liverpool.pdf) Unfortunately, I cannot get funding for the course and a bank loan is not available to me but by the time the course starts on 07/10/2012 I will hopefully have saved around another £4000.

After looking for ways to generate the funds I need to be able to study at SAE I came across this website, I think it's an amazing way to help someone out who is in need. I'm just really hopefull that there will be someone out there who has been in the same situation as I am now, who know's how it feels to wan't something so bad that it hurts. I really feel I have the drive and determination to succeed in reaching my goals of becoming a music producer and any donation that you make, big or small, will have helped me get a step closer to fulfilling my dreams. I appreciate you taking the time to read this, and if you are kind enough to donate and help me, I will be forever in you debt. Thankyou.

College Student in Pretty Bad Shape

Posted by jm07656 on 2012-03-06 17:58:33

First of all, I want to thank you for taking the time out of your day to
read this. You don't even have to do that, but you are, and I really
appreciate that. Let me also tell you that I take responsibility for

everything that has happened to me. You see, I'm a college student, and like
many college sophomore's, I get into a lot of situations that get me into a

heat of water. Unfortunately, all these situations happened to happen all
that thee same time. It started last thursday. My roomate was having a
little party at our apartment. The music was loud which resulted in the

police getting called over. We were given a noise violation for $142. The
very next morning, I was running late for class, so I took my car on campus.
I was in such a rush that I didn't realize that I parked in a no parking

zone. It was only a 50 minute class, but by the time I got back, I got to
witness them towing my car away. That came out to be $150 and $5 is added

everyday, so at the day of this writing, I need $170 to get my car out of
the impound. I also have a $425 rent that I have to pay before the 15th or I
will evicted. I would go to my parents, but my mom is on her last

unemployment checks, and the company that my dad works for is in a legal
dispute, and for some reason they are witholding their employees checks.
I've have tried every option I could think of. I went to friends, but
college students don't have much as it is. I went to my financial aid

counselor, but they said it was too late in the year to pull out any loans
or anything. I have no job, so I can't get a payday loan. I believe that
this could be my last option, but God allowed me to find this site for a
reason. Once again I appreciate the time you took to read this, and I hope
that you can help.

Please Help my little brother and my family

Posted by Noramerkel on 2012-02-12 01:58:56

My name is Nora and I am a student at a government university. I lived a happy life with my family until I turned 18 and my father and my little sister died in a car accident from drunk driver. Not only we lost my father and my sister but my my mother almost lost her leg and she is the only one who is still struggling with five kids and trying to help us. We lost our house because we couldn't make the rent payment and we moved to one bed room apartment. We all sleep on the floor in the living room and one night everybody start crying because we couldn't get electricity to our house.
Every day I always dream that my father is still alive and my family is still a happy family but when I wake up I realized this not gonna happened.

I really miss my sister's room. She wrote her name on her door and she loved music so show had all those nice cd of silly teenage kids music.
Even that house that carry all the nice and sad memory we lost it.

The worst thing when my little brother and he is 5 years old got sick with Asthma and we can't help him. I really wish that somebody there will read my story and help my family. Thank you for reading my story

unemployed musician would appreciate some help

Posted by musicman83 on 2012-02-07 17:58:53

I guess to begin I should say I'm not in a life or death situation but I really could use some help.

Since I graduated from university, studying music I have worked in customer service as there were not a lot of jobs available where I live, but I was laid off from my job 12 months ago and got behind with my rent by a couple of months, which landed me in £600 worth of debt on top of the debts I had accumulated as a student.

However I found a new job after a couple of months and everything seemed to be looking like it would work out but after a month of working there I had to take 2 days off sick and my new employer decided to terminate my employment. I went back to applying for jobs and selling my stuff to pawn shops to try and make ends meet, receiving benefits but although I could eat and keep a roof over my head I couldn't pay off my outstanding rent.

Then after a few months of looking for work I was helping my mum's friend out with some heavy lifting and helping with her garden work as she lives alone and ended up with a really bad inguinal hernia which left me incapacitated until I could get surgery, I had the surgery which fixed the problem but the surgeon advised me the hernia was a very large one and they had to make a 7 inch incision in order to be able to remove it which left me bedridden for a couple of weeks after.

Then the worst thing happened, I was offered an interview for my dream job a few days after my surgery, I explained my situation and told the employer how much I wanted this job but they said they were really sorry but they needed someone immediately and could not wait.

One of my friends told me about these websites where people help out people in bad money situations. So I guess I'm hoping someone can see fit to help me because I'm not doing too well resolving my problems alone.

My plan is to try and get as much of the £600 rent I owe so I can pay my rent off and re-locate as jobs are so scarce where I live.
I spoke to my landlord and asked if I could move out to re-locate and pay them back when I get a job but they said they're sorry but I need to pay up to date before I move out, so I'm stuck here with no job prospects, I can't just leave owing them this money and run away from the debt because I feel I am a moral and generally decent person and after the understanding and patience they have shown me in putting up with this situation for a year, running out on them would be a disgraceful thing to do to them.

Thank you for reading this and if you can help me sort myself out I will be eternally grateful to you

Disabled musician needs help with funding for college

Posted by joebassman on 2012-01-29 16:58:46

I am a disabled person who has suffered from ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome since age 9. I missed almost all of my secondary education because of my disability.
I studied a 2 year foundation degree and 1 year degree in music at the Colchester Institute. When I went on to apply for a music teaching PGCE at Cambridge, Middlesex, Ipswich and Open Universities I was interviewed but not selected for any of the courses. The feedback on each occasion was that I lacked sufficient subject knowledge to be accepted on the teachers training course. Also, when I undertook classroom observation experience at several secondary schools, it became clear to me that there were shortfalls in my subject knowledge.
As a disabled person I am at a disadvantage when competing with able bodied people for employment. The shortfall in my subject knowledge is a further disadvantage that can be rectified. I have been offered a place at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford Surrey to commence September 2012. My Parents are unable to assist me financially as my father and 2 brothers are disabled and unable to work. My mother has been ill and unable to work for the past year as she has a lung disease and it is not certain if she will be able to return to work.
Previously I auditioned and was offered a place at the world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston USA. I was unable to obtain funding to attend the course and was informed by the Department of Education that this was because there are sufficient colleges and universities that offer music education in the UK.
Any donations or sponsorship to help me with the fees would be much appreciated.

Help me to achieve my dream

Posted by glassbone on 2012-01-22 05:58:28

Hi!
Since a very young age, I have always had desire for music. Now, I am 20 and work at a fast food restourant. I make just enough money to pay my rent and buy food and basic nessecities. My desire and dream of learning to play music has not died, infact it has just become stronger. I have no means to get a tutor for guitar classes. I love music, I love listening to great guitarists(Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Ry Cooder, Jimmy Page, etc), and eventhough every single fiber of me desires to learn guitar and master it, I can't do it due to lack of finances. I ask you all to consider making a donation, regardless of its size, to help me pay for my guitar tutor.

I aprecite it very very much!!!

Please help me fund my dream!

Hello

I recently started up my own opera company and I am looking to fund our inaugural production of Cosi fan tutte. I am seeking funding within the region of $6000 in total but all assistance is most appreciated.
The action has been updated to modern day Italy, we have our whole cast and venue up and ready to go. But the dream will vanish if we cannot get the money behind it.

You can find out more details about the project here:

http://www.pozible.com.au/index.php/archive/index/4727/description/0/0

We have a performance target date of March 18 2012 for the venture which is why we are looking for the money immediately. This is the best date to tie in with our venue, the beautiful Makers Market at Abbotsford.
Funds include costuming and props, set design, hiring chamber orchestra and instruments, publicity, payment of director and music director, buying rights to specific images and creating posters and programmes. The artists, including myself, are NOT making any money from the venture and are giving up their time for free.
I am a highly motivated self-starter with extensive experience in both the practical and administrative side of the arts. In return for your valuable help I am able to assist you to get your own business projects up off the ground in areas such as data entry, copywriting, editing, proofing and the creative process. Or if you are a creative organisation or individual needing a hand, whether it be through performance or administrative matters, I would be happy to help you free of charge.
Additionally, my wonderful troupe of singers can perform at your next corporate functioning or gathering - we will even travel as a special thank you!
This is an exciting new initiative that you and/or your business can get involved in from the ground level. I guarantee that this venture will make money - so if it is difficult for you to get involved as a donor, we can organise a repayment scheme.

I can't tell you how grateful I am. Thank you so much for your time.

Please help me achieve my dream!

Education in Holistic Wellness

Posted by SpiritualStudent on 2012-01-04 05:58:16

I'm using BegsList to ask for donations to support my transition from a low-paying sales job to a meaningful career in the healing arts. I was blessed to be accepted into a highly selective program & upon graduation, I will have developed my inherent talents for holistic healing & wellness and begin serving others by offering various natural & organic-based therapies for skin issues & other ailments. While I will receive very limited loans via financial aid, they will not cover over $5000 of my tuition, not to mention living expenses. I am willing to work while in school, but would prefer to focus on my studies and offer my full energy to my clients when I begin my clinicals. I am a deeply spiritual & meditative young man who has earned a golden opportunity. I just need some help from compassionate, like-minded, & generous donors to allow my dream to manifest into reality. I am also a generous spirit who has offered many of my talents... writing, music, cooking, and others... free of charge to many people via blogging & other forums. I vow to use my education to help heal individuals, educate on holistic healing arts, & change the world in the most positive ways I possibly can. I will pay it forward. Of this, you can rest assured. If you have read thus far, thank you! You are likely a very intuitive & health-conscious individual. Please feel the energy of these words & allow my honesty, dedication to my life's purpose, & mostly your own heart- guide you in deciding whether or not to help me in the pursuit of my deepest desire: to truly be of service to others by gaining the expertise required to help them heal themselves. Thank you so much and all the Best for a Prosperous & Peaceful 2012!

Musician: lost job(of over 5 years) now amp needs replacing

I lost my job in July 2011 that I had for over 5 years and haven't been able to find work. I'm basically a freelance musician until I find something. I play guitar in a band that plays for money. However, my guitar amp just decided to fry. I am looking for donations totalling $500 to buy a new amp so I can continue making music and work with my bandmates towards our dream of being full time musicians. This is my livelihood right now. I need this to continue making music. Check out our music at reverbnation.com/creeplist

piano lessons and tuition

Posted by grandmother on 2011-12-27 17:58:39

I am taking care of my 4 year old grandson. He is an extremely intelligent child, reading on a first grade level. He has shown an interest in music since he was an infant. In September, I placed him in some piano lessons. His music teacher was so impressed with him, she included him in the music school's holiday recital. She tells me my grandson has great potential, both in academics, and music. I would like to place him in school which would allow him to excel in both. I can not afford tuition and lessons for him on my income. Any donations would really be appreciated.

I graduated in 2009 with a degree in Digital entertainment and game design. This degree covers web design, animation, game design, 3d animation and modelling. I also have a degree in music performance with some skill in music composition. I want to be a 3d animator. my goal is to start by making small psa ads, cheap online games and iphone/android apps, and short films. I have the talent and the training to do this in a way that puts out completely original music and visuals. This is the second step in my ultimate goal of working for a game company designing games and ads.

Unfortunately, graduation did not come with the tools to start out. I need professional versions of these products so that I have no trouble with marketing and selling my work:

Adobe Creative suite design premium or master collection
Autodesk 3ds max/maya
Finale music notation

I also need a desktop computer capable of running the full versions of these programs. A Macintosh would be ideal, with a touch screen monitor so that I can use my monitor like a drawing board, and a MIDI capable keyboard so that I can do composition.

I need all the help I can get. I have student loans that need paying off, and I know that I can really make some money if only I had the right tools.
