I'm about to be 51 years old and never thought I'd do something like this, but here goes.

I am disabled from a car wreck with a semi, among other conditions. I was on disability for 15 years, but lost it almost 5 years ago because the guy I roomed with was always gone and was supposed to take me to my doctor and Social Security review appointments. Then he got us thrown out of the apartment because he had hoarded his paychecks, was living off my money, and wasn't paying the rent or bills. He left me with a $1600 light bill ! I didn't find out any of this until we were evicted.

I have been homeless ever since, for nearly 5 years, bounced around from place to place, unable to stay in one place long enough to get thru the Social Security application process - I had to start all over again. In 2010, I spent 8 month living in a closet in Columbus, OH and starved.

I had a Social Security hearing in Lexington, KY last August and was dropped off at a horrible homeless shelter in Lexington, to stay until my hearing, when I was assured by a 'free' lawyer I'd get my disability back. I didn't and now I've been trapped in this gulag for more than 10 months, among druggies, alcholics, and ex-cons dumped off here by the police and the Dept. of Corrections. The building is infested wih bedbugs and there is black mold everywhere, which caused me to have an inner ear infection that finally blew a hole in my eardrum since I couldn't get treated for it. Men sleep on the floors and the bathroom is a chamber of horrors. I've had food poisoning 4 times and a couple months ago, more than 40 men sought treatment for food poisoning. The nurse who reported the cases to the Health Dept suddenly left, while the cook remains at work. A Veteran's Admin rep said he wouldn't give the food served here to his dog.

I'm trapped here because Kentucky discriminates against men in that it will not give us Medicaid cards unless we're already on Social Security. This prevents me from having a family doctor and care for my disabilities, which I need in order to win back my benefits. Under these conditions, I will never be able to get out of this nightmare.

I have a friend in Florida who wants me to come down there. FL will give me a Medicaid card and I could at least have a fighting chance to win my disability back. As I've said; I was on it for 15 years and was repeatedly approved every 2 years during the case reviews. I need to get out of this awful state if this nightmare is ever to end. I've lost almost 11 months of my life being warehoused in a place that's one step above prison, and I've done nothing wrong to deserve this. Yet I'm subject to the same rules and restrictions as the ex-cons who live on the floors above me.

I have no family left to fall back on, so all I can do is ask for help. I need money to get to FL so I can get a doctor and my disabillity back, and have a life again. It will cost around $500 to get my things shipped to Orlando, and another $200 to get me there. Then I'd need somewhere to stay until I can get thru the Social Security process again. After that, I'd be OK.

Thank you for reading all this any any help offered would change my life. I would do everything I could to help other homeless men so as to give back help given me when I most needed it.

My husband and I had a nice place that we were buying and then we both got laid off well he was working alittle and it was pay insurance or the electric bill. We paid the electric bill and was starting to get on our feet when our home burned to the ground, we did not recieve much help but we found another place to live and stayed there for nearly 7 yrs. The roof started leaking very bad and the land lord just laid tin down on the wet rotting roof well black mold started growing and I spent the next yr back and forth to the Dr trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Lost wieght, exremly tired slept all the time, no energy. well one dr finally figured it out BLack Mold. we moved in with our son and his family and about 4 months ago we moved into a new place. while I was cleaning the bathroom I found black mold all over the walls. We have found another home but we do not have the money for all the deposits on electric gas house deposit. We need ya'lls help so very mch. I will gladly send you a copy of the reciept for which ever one is turned on. I will also send you a reciept so you can take it off of your taxes if possible. My husband works sunup to after dark 6 days a week we only have one vehicle and he works 40 miles one way from home and moving into this new house will help cut down his driving time because it is closer to his work. When I purchased this home back in 2004 after finally getting away from an extremely abusive marriage, all I could see was that the price was right and that I would finally be safe - hundreds of miles away from my now ex-husband. As a single mother of 3 children on a limited income, I saw how I would be able to live completely mortgage and rent free. I didn't however see the major repairs that this house required - nor did I have the money to make such repairs. Over time, of course things got worse - and it brings me up to the point of where I am today.

The roof on this house is so badly deteriorated that it is leaking very badly in the downstairs bathroom, dining room, kitchen and front door areas. It has leaked so badly that now mold has started to form in the bathroom ceiling and the drywall has slowly been falling away on the one wall. The slightest wind and you will find shingles blown off and laying on the ground. The roof is so bad that I am fearful that even the boards underneath the shingles may need to be replaced.

Realize that this is my last resort in trying to come up with the funds required to get this new roof. I have tried applying to government grants for home improvement but unfortunately I do not qualify because 1. my property taxes are not paid up to date (I owe approximately $2000 just in property taxes), and 2. the size of the house is larger than the specified guideline parameters. Nor do I qualify for a loan of any sort as 1. I make a mere $200 a month working and 2. have bad past credit (being a single mom has taken some serious tolls on me - including financially!).

So the goal here is to get a new roof installed - and as soon as possible so that any further damage to the house is avoided. I also worry about the mold forming in the bathroom especially and one day the roof caving in in there. While my children have grown to teenagers now, I still have to worry about their health.

I have uploaded pictures and this story at Chip-In to show you the extent of the damage done especially in the bathroom area - and a view of the shingles as they are right now on the roof. Admittedly I realize that my house also needs some repair on the stucco, windows and such but right now my main concern is the roof. I'm surprised it hasn't caved in on me by now.

I thank everyone in advance for helping me with this. I do not normally like asking for help from anyone but at this point I am finding that I have no other alternative.

I am the eldest daughter of two ill parents. I have 2 siblings who have been the caregivers to my parents for several years now. It all started when my father got ill in 2007 with a need of open heart surgery. After that surgery he was never the same. He was a very successful emergency room physician and made very good money. However, he was off for several months from work due to his recovery period. Much of his savings/investments were depleted as he was the only bread winner in the family. My brother and sister had just gotten an apartment and were to start college when my father got ill. They withdrew from school just as quickly as we moved them into their apartment in order to help my mother take care of dad. My father attempted to return to work, but he was still having chest pain and major depression. In September of 2008 he was in the hospital again and needed heart stents to open up blockages. After that situation he physically could not go back to work. He was weak, depressed, and very withdrawn from life. My mother, bless her heart, tried to find ways to make some cash. She sold many pieces of her jewelry to try and pay bills. Regardless of what she profited, she was unable to fulfill the mounting medical bills, credit card bills, car payments, insurance bills, etc.
It wasn't long before she became gravely ill. In the summer of 2010 my mother had succumbed to kidney failure and had to be on kidney dialysis permanently. She had neglected to take care of herself while trying to take care of my father and their financial woes. Along with the financial woes, there were back taxes that were still owed and of course were impossible to pay, their house was falling apart--still is. By the end of Spring 2011, my mother got so ill and was on a ventilator at least 4 times in a 2 week period due to her lungs filling up with fluid. Finally it was discovered that she had endocarditis (infection in heart)that had ravaged one of her heart valves. This required open heart surgery and replacement of the defected valve. The endocarditis stemmed from an infected temporary dialysis catheter. She was in the hospital for over a month and a half or so. Needless to say she was confused, lost tons of weight, and lost the ability to walk or care for herself. She was placed in a nursing home for rehab, but several more stays in the hospital only made her fall several steps back on her rehab and she never has fully recovered. It was discovered that she also had a tumor on one of her kidneys and her kidney was removed in the Fall of 2011 and supposedly it was all contained and it was early stage renal (kidney) carcinoma (cancer). While my mother was in the hospital my father had trouble breathing and I took him to the hospital. It as discovered he was in kidney failure and they both ended up in the hospital at the same time. Now my father is on permanent kidney dialysis.
Now fast forward to present day April 6, 2012. My mother's dialysis shunt would not stop bleeding and she was taken to the emergency room. She also complained of right leg pain and ultimately she ended up with a CT angiogram. This test revealed she not only had some blockage in one of her arteries in her leg, but that she had metastatic cancer to her liver, lungs, and a site near her spleen. Of course we are devastated.
They have no money. The money they do get is always depleted as soon as they get it from Medicare. My mother's social security check went straight to the nursing home and still was not enough to cover her bill. My father would have to pay over $1,000 a month because Medicare would only pay for several weeks. Since she has been in the hospital now for almost 2 weeks, we have pulled her out of the nursing home because the expected us to pay over $180 A DAY to keep her spot at the nursing home.
Now we are faced with a surgery to fix her leg, a plan for cancer treatment, and no suitable place for my mother to live. Their current home is in shambles and I mean SHAMBLES. Roof leaks and is falling apart. I assume there is some black mold lingering. No central air or heat as their units are broke. Plus large amounts of stuff--my mother also was a hoarder. The house is disgusting and it has been hard to clean up with out major assistance and with constant trips to the hospital who has ample time (?). They live in a small town and it is very hard to simply get a dumpster to throw many items away. The house would have to be completely gutted and redone. The floors are sinking in and it is very dangerous. They don't have the funds to fix any of it and nor do I.
I have missed work several times over the last year and more with FMLA, but never have enough PTO to fully cover my own losses.
My siblings have yet to start their lives. They have been with my parents ever since 2007 to help them with everything. Even when my mother was in a nursing home my siblings and my dad would go see my mom every single day--we just didn't trust the care of the nursing home and rightly so because she developed a bed ulcer on her heel after the wound care nurse said it was getting better--not even close! And yes the blocked artery in her leg and her bed ulcer on her heel are related. The wound care nurse and the Dr. for the nursing home should have caught this medical issue.
So life has been tough, but reading about it doesn't even give it justice. We need financial assistance, a new home or help to fix it--we need a lot of help. I want my brother and sister to finally get on their own feet and do what they want to do. I feel bad for them because I was able to finish college and have a career, a husband, and a home. They have yet to accomplish their goals and it makes me sad and sick to see them so depressed. They are in their late 20s and my parents are both 65 y.o.
If anyone has a kind heart, I promise you I'm not lying. I have proof of all I have written about and I swear on everything--my family, my husband, etc. that this is all real. Thank you for your time and interest. If you can't help at least please pray for us.

My husband and I have been married for 30 years and have grown children. Most of our excess money goes toward helping them and the grandchildren. In the meantime our kitchen floor is almost falling through in three spots, our bathroom has mold all around the top of the walls and all our windows are completely molded. There is at least a half inch open space in our doors that allows cold/heat in so our electric bills are outrageous. We really need help in order to clear out the mold so ourselves and our grandchildren will hopefully not be affected.

My flat has been hit with damp. I have been on the sick for 5months with less than £100 a month. All of my clothes have mold growing on them from the wardrobe and others (I stopped putting things in the wardrobe because of this) that I ended up having to store on the floor away from where I thought the mold and damp was, have been attacked by it also. It seems the damp has spread under the carpet to cover 3/4 of the bedroom floor. All I ask is for clothes donations, I'm not fussy. I am a size 12 (UK) top and size 14 (UK) bottom. I had to get help to pay for a GED just recently, wish me luck on the test. I rent a single wide trailer that had mold problems and made my family sick. We are better now. The landlord ripped the shower and floors out and replaced everything. I am afraid of the mold coming back and making us sick again. I’m 26 and have no bank account. I tried to start one but couldn’t keep any money in it, because of how little I made in construction. My car doesn’t go into reverse and slips in first gear sometimes. Let me tell you more about myself. I was two years old when my father was shot and killed in the big city. I grew up on welfare with my mother and grandmother. When I was seven we lost grandma’s house and began to move around a lot. When I was twelve, my grandmother died from being in a moldy house that we were renting. My mother moved to the country with her boyfriend and I followed shortly after. In school I was smart, but moving around everywhere was costly. I lost credit for a lot of hard work simply because the schools were on two different schedules. After living with my mom’s drunken boyfriend and having him beat on her, I dropped out of school to get a job in construction. I was able to make enough for us to rent our own place.

I married my high school sweetheart about a year ago. I had hoped that we would make a wonderful life together, but it’s proven to be very difficult. She did graduate and attend college; however, she did not finish her Bachelors degree. She has a little more than half a semester left, but we ran into some tax problems and she has not been able to go back and finish. Now she owes 6,000 in college dept and I owe thousands in back taxes. She has eyesight problems (coloboma) and can’t drive herself. She works with her mom cleaning houses and babysitting. I dream about being rich and successful, and making all our financial problems go away. I don’t see how that’s going to happen with all of our problems. I want to go to college and get a degree, but I need help getting on my feet. Please help me and my family realize our dreams of financial freedom.

I read that there are 7.5 million millionaires in America, and I hope someone reading this is one of them. Please change my life forever with a big donation. In 2009 doctors and many others witnessed tiny fluorescent white little puff balls, I call them (They are actually rice grain shaped), emerging spontaneously from my skin by the hundreds,maybe thousands. I have been ill most of my life on and off, for at least 15 years with migraines 25 or more out of 30 days much of spring through fall. When the disease(es) is/are fully active, it is sheer unending torture...
Mild examples are that I got stung by a bee, and was relieved to see it was bee, not the disease..the other day for about 5 minutes, it felt like I had a pinl sticking into my back, antibiotic final stopped it.the itching, stinging, is unreal, intense . I have kept it subdued through alternative cures a.d mixes after anti fungal with antibiotic, yet it still persists, and spring and summer heat make it overactive.
It seems to come with this rustcolored mold that is now everywhere in the little camper I am living in. This rust colored mold also grows kn and in me, creating ...well, ill leave out all the gorey detsils..My family helped me to buy this new, in hopes living in good clean air would help. We looked at the mold under a microscope, and like the fibers that come out ogle, it is fibrous, not mold- like
To add to this, we looked at a slide I made of the fiber in 2009, and one of the fibers turned into a slug like thing while in storage on the microscope, and there is this strange black ink- like looking circle around it all.
my doctors are at a loss, as they don't know of any test to identify this. The fibers just came back as unidentified plant material. It is strange to see them emerge..it just blips right out of the skin in less than a second.
because my camper is now covered in this, no matter how much I clean, every rain the camper gets covered.
Whatever this organism had done to my body, I itch, well all the time. it gets worse when I touch people or old books, I cannot sit on fabric, I have to bring plastic with me wherever I go..
Even my bed is covered in plastic
This organism fights other organisms, even acidophilus!
This and my severe migraines led to finally sucumbing to the acceptance of needing help, which came immediately through disability.o
My goal now is to identify this organism(or group of organisms. I have to get the camper de- termed. I am so sensitive, even staying in people's homes is out of the question now.
I basically require a simple box,ee batbroomand kitchen with no carpete amper drapes, furnishings, unless all 3, etc. And living in Los Angeles, only h budget, the camper is the best solution right now. Help getting me out of this camper, help paying the cost of a company that will remove the mold/ organism, and help with paying for tests to identify this are needed most any experts in any of these areas, I guess if you donate a penny and leave your contact information through PayPal, I would be so grateful!
i' m seeing the infectious disease doctor in January...again though, they don't test, it seems for what I have
So my requests.
if there are any mycologists,, geneticists, mold remediation specialists, (to get my camper less toxic)
And any funds to send out samples to be tested (one place, parasite testing.com calls this neurocutaneous syndrome..and may be able to identify.. it just a swab test is $120!)
And I need to get myself into a place that is healthy for me...eventually it will either be a new camper or studio rented somewhere. For now, until get the mold out of this camper, I will not sell it.
So this is a tidbit of my story...I was a healer, then got too sick! I now channel some of that into healing art
Any help is appreciated! I am much toover- sensitive for any direct healing, I do appreciate intent/prayers out to the grater energy, beyond even consciousness that we are all a part of. I am a 49 year old college student who is in desperate need help. I raised two wonderful children who are now grown,sucessful, and on their own. My life changed 8 years ago when my daughter now 20 got sick from toxic mold that was in our apartment. I gave up my job to take care of her and now that she is on her own, not far short of a miracle,I have hit the bottom of the barrel. I am an honor student at KCKCC and will recieve my AA in May of 2012. I have been served with eviction papers and my 92 Honda Accord is on its last mile,315,000,miles later I doubt it will make it through the winter. I work at school part time,all that is allowed, and my dad helps me when he can. He is 79 years old and lives on a fixed income in California. When my daughter left home in May I no longer could afford the rent and bills on our place to live and am now 5 months behind and Wednesday is my court date for the eviction. My gas and electric are in danger of getting cut off and it really doesnt matter since I have no where to live. I have promised my dad that I will finish school no matter what and quite honestly I dont know if that will happen. I had to take a payday loan and title loan on my car so that I could pay my rent in July that all back fired and I now am overdrawn in my bank account as well and hiding my car from the repo guy. I have borrowed money from 4 different people and now they are all over me for repayment. When I quit my job 8 years ago to take care of my daughter because that is what a mother does my credit was ruined. The pieces just keep falling and at times I cant see the end of the tunnel. Just one chance to get out of this mess financially and have a decent place to live and a decent car that runs would make life a whole lot easier. My dad could enjoy his retirement and I could fulfill my promise to him. My daughter has 400.00 worth of medicine she has to have monthly and I help her before I pay my own bills because I feel that's what I should do. I have no medical or dental insurance and have several things wrong with several teeth. I havent had my blood pressure medicine in one year and it would be nice to be able to make sure I am physically well. Please help please help please help.

I am trying to get my leaky roof fixed. I work part time for minimum wage. I have been trying to get my employer to put me on full time but they will not. I have looked for a full time job or at least another part time with no luck. The amount of money I make barely pays the bills, after food, mortgage, car loan payments, and utilities; I am usually in the red. My roof leaks to the point that some of my ceiling has rotted and fallen (I have multiple buckets to try and keep the water off the floor). There is extensive water damage and mold (I actually found mushrooms growing out of the floor at the corner of a wall inside my bedroom!). There is a spot in the floor outside the bathroom that is sunken and rotted almost through from water damage from the ceiling. My utility bills are increasing because it is getting colder. I need $6,000 to fix my roof, but any donation would be greatly appreciated. If I can get 1,000 people to donate between $1 and $10 I will be able to get my roof fixed and not have to breath mold anymore (I have asthma also). I am a asthmatic and the 1st year after moving in to my apartment I got bronchitis 7 times, Pneumonia 2 times, 2 colds, 1 flu and mono. I quickly used up all my sick time and had also used up all my FLMA time. One day I had to go to the hospital from work and my employer fired me for it.
I filed for unemployment and won but my Pulmonologist
recommended that I find some other work then call center work due to my respiratory problems. I have a anxiety disorder and recently found out why. I was diagnosed with a hyperactive thyroid and I have a small cyst or growth on my thyroid gland. I started experiencing uncontrolled anxiety and fatigue. I went to counseling for the anxiety but it didn’t help much.
I recently moved out of the apartment that was possibly the cause of some of my respiratory problems because we found mold in the hallway outside of our apartment and believed it was in the building too. I have continued to become frequently ill and my fatigue, anxiety, and asthma are making it impossible for me to find a job. I can’t get disability for my asthma because my O2 levels are not low enough.
We moved into a doublewide manufactured home we bought this with a small settlement I received after a truck ran off the road and hit me when I was putting my then 2 year old into her car seat. I was injured but she luckily was ok. The other driver took off on foot. This happened this winter and even after that I have suffered extreme fatigue. Our old car was totaled out and the car we replaced it with turned out to be a lemon. In less than 3,000 miles it blew the transmission and the rear axel broke. It over heated, and we also replaced the battery, 2 pulleys, and the AC went out.

We spent over $4000 in the different repairs on the car and used all of the money from what we had left from the settlement we were going to use to replace the original roof of our house from 1988. Our roof has already had leaks and needs to be replaced

My wife is trying to find work but she has seizures and can’t drive. My wife has only had 2 jobs her whole life and is having a hard time finding work. Now we are in trouble because we have no income and bills keep coming. My parent’s just filed for bankruptcy and cant help us and my wife’s parents are unemployed.

We need help with our bills and to pay for our basic need’s
Our bills are as followed.
Lot Rent 410.00 per month
Water/trash/sewer $100.00 approximately per month.
Phone and internet for two cell phones $150.00 (my wife and 3 year old have seizures and need a cell phone).
Car and home owner insurance $154.00 per month.
Power bill between $100-$300 per month (I live in phoenix, AZ and it gets hot).
We also are paying $100.00 per month to pay the fee for breaking the lease at the apartment that was causing me to get sick so often. We still owe $1,100.00
