Need a chair

Posted by reliefwanted0224 on 2012-03-31 07:58:13

Hi everyone. My name is Denise I am 65 years old and a disabled veteran. I am from Springfield, Missouri. I have problems with my knees, legs, back and even though I can not get around easily, I am on a cane. I also suffer from severe depression, migraines and flash backs from war, I am very forgetful among other things. I had to move in with my son and daughter in law because I can not live alone or take care of myself. I have also had a triple bypass and have two brain tumors. What brings me here today is last night my chair broke. When i sit in it i start to sink down in the middle and I can't let my legs up. My son and his wife can not afford to get me a new chair. I have been watching Craigslist for one but I am having no luck at all. Having a comfortable recliner to rest in would mean the world to me. My wish is to find someone that can help me with getting one. Thanks everyone for reading my post and God bless each and everyone of you. I have a wal mart wish list set up but I don't know how to link it. Thanks all.

Help me get married!

Posted by kendrashue on 2012-03-29 09:58:40

Hi, my name is Kendra Lynn S. I'm 22 and living in Kansas City, MO. I'm originally from Ashland, KY but I moved to Missouri in August of 2011 to live with my aunt and work for her husband. I needed a change and needed to get away from a life that was killing me in Kentucky. I miss it sometimes and I miss my friends, but I met an amazing man here who loves me with all his heart and I plan to marry him and spend forever with him. We don't have a lot of money but we are getting by, we're just happy to be together. I work 2 jobs and he works full time at a bank, but we're having trouble raising money for a huge step in our wedding planning: I have to declare chapter 7 bankruptcy.
I have $10,043 in medical bill debt from an accident in January 2010 where someone hit me with a 4-wheeler, putting me in a coma for 2 months and then physical therapy and rehab after that. The original bill was $200,000 for the medical costs, but I received a scholarship to cover 95% of the cost because I didn't have health insurance at the time. While I was in a coma, I lost my apartment, fell behind on payments on my school loans, and my bills were sent to collections. Ashland Kentucky is a small town, and we're kind of a small family so I didn't want to press charges on the person who hit me. But when I met my fiancé and we started talking about marriage, I discussed my situation with a lawyer to determine what I should do.
We want to be able to buy a house in the future, but with this debt the lawyer was afraid that my credit will hinder that. The lawyer was also afraid that since my bills are in collections that if I get married that the creditors would seize my fiancé’s assets. My fiancé doesn't have much, but we are sharing his truck since I lost my car and if the creditors took his truck we'd be out the $10,000 remaining on the truck loan and without a vehicle. I decided I would try to press charges just for the cost of filing bankruptcy, but the person who hit me was the sheriff’s son. No police report was ever filed. Small town politics are good in most situations. This is not one of them.
The lawyer tried to do what he could, but Kentucky’s statute of limitations for filing suit against someone is 1 year. By the time I decided I needed to sue, it was too late. So I’m stuck with a bill I can’t pay and it’s the only thing keeping me from marrying the man I love. My mother is a medical transcriptionist in West Virginia, and she’s barely making enough to support herself and her boyfriend so I can’t ask her for help. My father has been in prison my entire life so I don’t really have anyone to turn to for assistance with this. My fiancé’s parents have been very helpful, but they only have so much to help with and they can’t assist us with the bankruptcy.
Me and Trey (my fiancé) are paying for the wedding and the honeymoon entirely by ourselves, on top of keeping up with rent and truck payments and regular bills. Like I said, we’re happy and we’re doing okay living a humble lifestyle. Other people have it worse, I get that and I’m grateful for the love I’ve found and the life I get to spend with him. We wanted to get married in June, but at the rate we’re able to save towards the cost of filing bankruptcy, it could be next year before we could get married, and neither of us want to wait that long.
I already spoke to 1 lawyer and was quoted $1500, two payments of $750. Our finances are so carefully budgeted that and stretched so thin that we just can't do that. My fiancé has stopped eating breakfast and lunch to save money, started riding his bike to work and is doing everything he can to save money. We’ve set aside $300 towards the filing cost. It’s taken us 4 months to do that. We intended on using our tax returns to file, but mine was taken by the creditors and we used his to try to get ahead on our bills. So here’s what I’m asking: any donation towards the cost of filing my bankruptcy would be a huge blessing right now. Some members of our church have offered to assist us, and someone referred us to this site. I
think it’s a great thing that people are willing to help complete strangers out and I wish that I had the resources to help others at this time. We’ve already agreed that we will do whatever we can to help others in need on this site once we can start setting more money aside once we’re married. But right now, I need $1200 total to cover the cost of my bankruptcy, so any donation towards that would be a blessing. Thank you for taking the time to read my story, God Bless!

A walk in the Sand

My name is Leah. I have been through more tragedies than the average person will ever go through! I lost my dad suddenly when i was 14 years old. Then 10 years later my mom also suddenly passed away. Shortly followed by my only sibling, my sister to suicide. I am not trying to make this a sob story just letting you in on a little of my life.
I married my high school sweetheart (been with him since I was 14) and we had 2 wonderful kids just out of high school. Being a young mother has had its trials and tribulations. My kids are great! But having them young, We had not got established money wise. I am now in Nursing School which takes a lot of time and money on its own leaving harldy any left over.
My dream is to finally be able to take a vacation with my little family. We have never even been out of state (Missouri) I would love for them (and me) to see the beach, be able to fell the sand between our toes, and for once be able to relax and just let go. I have set up a seperate account for this fund so every little bit helps. Thank You so much

Hi,
I am 24 and moved to New York 6 months ago for my new job and am very thankful that I am employed. In the last year I haven't been able to go home to see my family and I am trying to also provide some support for my mom who is living in Missouri. My family cannot provide me with any help and I am very stressed with finding a safe living situation and paying my bills on-time. Any kindness would help.
Thank You

Getting a divorce from habitual liar. HELP!

Posted by ThisFamilyNeedsHelp on 2011-12-06 13:58:11

Please help! 37 year old mother of a 5 yr old and a 12 yr old is getting a divorce from my habitual liar husband. I thought I married the man I would spend the rest of my life with, I had planned on only doing it once. I do not work right now. I was doing hair when we met and he wanted me to quit and stay home with our son until he started school. I saw that our relationship was heading downhill and not getting any better and decided I need to go back to school to finish my Bachelor degree in Business Management. I am hoping to finish up by July or October of next year, 2012. I want to open my own business so I can support my wonderful children and give them the things they need and some of the things they want. My 2 children and I, along with our 2 small dogs, had to move in with my mother, uncle, grandmother, and brother. We have been here for a year on Dec 10th and have been separated from my husband that long. He has given me very little money for support in the past year, spent all the tax return, took out a loan on my previously paid off vehicle and spent that money, and ended up getting me in trouble with a bad check to our previous landlord. We had a 2007 Dodge Ram Quad cab, I was primary on the loan, he was secondary, and he said he was trading it in for a Chevy Equinox, better gas mileage and cheaper payments. this was 3 months ago. I am now realizing, how can you trade in a vehicle when the other person on the loan never signed the papers? So now I have people calling me saying they are coming after me for the Dodge truck. I have no clue what I'm going to have to or be able to do on that.

He put a bunch of our stuff in storage when we separated, we moved to Missouri with my mom and he moved in with a friend in Iowa and then LOST it, so I don't have a lot of stuff I've worked for and had before we even met. The list of stuff he lost...5 seat sectional with chaise lounger, 37" flat screen tv, PS2 and about 12 games, Wii and 2 games, new surround sound, 5 disc stereo system, new bluray player, box of my season dvds like Smallville, Friends, One Tree Hill and ER, a huge box of my Disney VHS that I had been collecting since high school, nice new short entertainment center, 2 end tables, 2 lamps, washer and dryer, refrigerator, tall dining table with chairs, vacuum, electric can opener, butcher block knife set, corelware dishes, stainless steel pots and pan set, toaster, king bed, bookcase, desk, riding lawnmower, 2 weed eaters, etc. I probably could keep going.

I'm living on the good will and love my family offers and my small student loan refunds. I get NO child support. I am looking to pay off $15,000 in student loans, the $6200 loan on my Tahoe, the $1100 bad check and a couple hundred in lawyer fees, and the $1,400 Target Visa he ran up and let go bad. I need 4 new tires, an alignment, and a new windshield on the Tahoe. I would like to build my children and I a house in the next 3-4 years.

My goals...
~ Finish my BSBA in Management, end of 2012.
~ Thinking about getting my MBA.
~ Open my business, if you are interested I can tell you about it. Looking for potential investors. Working toward fall of 2012, may have to be fall of 2013.
~ Build my kids and I a house, which my mother will eventually come live with us. Right now she is taking care of my grandmother. If my business takes off like I foresee, I would like to build as I have the money so I don't have a mortgage, or put 50% down and get a loan for the rest.
~Be happy in life!

I am an honest Christian woman and I believe that the bills should be paid first BEFORE you go out and blow any money on luxuries such as eating out. He eats out a lot!

If you find it in your heart to help me out, please send me a note with how you would like for me to use the money, 3 choices as there will hopefully be others who can help me, and I can send you proof that that bill was paid. This is new to me and my first attempt at "cyberbegging", which has taken all I have. I am proud and have done many things on my own, so it is very humiliating for me to have to take this route.

I would assume your donation is tax deductible, but you will have to check on that.

If this works for me, I will give back and help out others who need it.

God Bless you and your family. Happy Holidays!

Help Save my Best friend! Need help with Vet bill!

Posted by KieraKittie on 2011-11-26 18:58:29

I have had Samson for 13 years, (12 years, 9months)We have been through thick and thin together and always pull through. Recently I noticed him pawing his snout after chewing on his chew bones and realizing after a day or two he started rubbing his snout on everything, it was not getting better. So I took him to the vet, and they informed me he has an back Molar Tooth Abscess. They even showed it to me. "ICK" Estimated bill from the vet is $321.86 - $394.36 depending on complications. If anyone can pass this on or even donate a dollar or two, I would be so thankful in so many ways.

The reason I am asking for help on this vet bill is because my fiancee' was just released from the hospital after a week in Critical care and a week in recovery from a past accident and surgery issues sneaking up on him. We have plans to move to a house in Missouri after the first of the year. I quit my job a few weeks early to take care of my fiancee' till he can walk and get around by himself again, which did not leave room for many more surprises such as this vet visit. We managed to save these last few years for the home in Missouri, enough to make my car payment and insurance, move with, and a little to fall back on till I start work down there. Though I am hunting for a holiday/seasonal job in the area. The vet highly suggest this needs to be taken care of now to prevent risk of infection getting into the blood stream.

I'm terrified of him having to be sedated, and even more so of the tooth infection getting worse, I don't want him to be in pain but I need a hand with this bill. We have already cut out Christmas presents this year so we can afford to move. If not, I would of gladly sold them all to pay for his health, but I have nothing left to sell. Samson's mom lived to be18 years old, and though he is old, he is in the prime of his health and you would never guess his age. I want many many many more years with him at my side.

Thank you for your time, holidays are tough on everyone, money is tight all around. I, out of everyone understand that. Anything will help even a $1. I promise in return I will update his progress with how everything goes.

Family Crisis

Posted by Lukerclan on 2011-09-24 08:58:42

My husband left us. He closed the account so now my check will not be direct deposited and my Landlord said they will not wait. My rent is $725.00. I have a car payment that's $200.00 and the electricity $250.00 that was due on the 17th now late due to his insincerity. He took all the money and just left. I tried local places but they already ran out for the month. We just moved in the area so we don't have a local church. We, my 3 kids and I, only have food for 3 more days. My two older kids are looking for work but unfortunately that doesn't help out now only in the future. I even asked my family who live in California and they said they are strapped and can't help. I have been trying to do everything I can but that I am working extra overtime but again that's in the future, my Landlord won't take an IOU. Now I have the worst flu ever, probably due to the stress. I can't pay back now but in the future I will be able to in small increments so it doesn't make me continue in this same crisis. I have tried and tried to contact my husband but to no avail I think he was in missouri and now I think he's in arizona. I just can't believe he put us in the worst of messes. If I can get one months total of $1400 that includes money for food and gas. That would help me out so then I don't have to keep stressing and checking the mail box for a check almost every 5 minutes.

Need help so I can help others in Joplin

Posted by kcemt on 2011-06-01 12:58:56

I am looking for any donations I can get to support a lengthy stay in the Joplin Missouri area to help with the Tornado clean up. I just lost my job for not willing to comply with their illegal practices and strive to always do the right thing, no matter what or how it may set me back. Anyway, I have contacted the Red cross, and United way, yet these services are so inundated with what has happened that I think I have gotten lost in their system after letting them know I am available. I also signed up with "show me response" Which is a organization that uses medical professionals that want to volunteer. I am a Licensed EMT and worked on a ambulance service for 8 years so I hope they can utilize me somewhere, yet have had no response from them as of yet either.

After losing my job and the impact of the economy the last few years I have virtually lost everything I have. I currently have nothing, no car, no home (staying in a hotel) and soon no money. Instead of feeling sorry for myself and my situation I want go to Joplin and help those who have lost everything too. I lost mine over time they lost theirs in minuets. In Joplin the still standing hotels are sold out, the remaining people and volunteers are staying in tents in peoples yards. I did make contact with a lady who offered for me to camp in her yard, but I have no tent. So my purpose of being on here is just to ask some kind hearted people who may not have the option of going to Joplin on their own to help, to sponsor me to get there and get the few things I need so I can help the people who need it.

This is not a scam and am not using this disaster for personal gain through this site, and if anyone has done that or trying to do that just remember God and Karma will someday hold you accountable!! Please help me with my cause if you can:) Thank you. PS if I get enough people to sponsor me to go there, I will email them on a weekly basis of my progress there, as well as try to send photos of whats going on with the clean up. (emails will depend on available wifi connections)

Here is what I am needing : 45.00 for bus ticket Kansas City to Joplin (Jefferson Lines). 49.00 for a Tent, 40.00 for steel toed boots (from Walmart), 15.00 for leather gloves, 5.00 for safety glasses, 30.00 for a used hardhat. and any donations for the purchase of food while I am there you can offer.

There may be food available for volunteers but would rather go down there and not deplete any of their resources as some people have gone down to capitalize on others misfortunes according to some news articles I have seen.

These things are the bare bones I need in order to be able to do this. Since I am unemployed I have the time to go and help, I just don't have the above resources and you can help me so I can help others. Thank you for your time in reading about my cause. Please Donate thanks :)

Pay it Forward

Hi, i'm Heather. I'm 27 from St. Louis Missouri. I recently applied and got accepted (yay) into a private Nursing College here. I've worked so hard to get into a program, but now the only issue is; affording it.

I drive a 1995 Mustang GT. With gas prices well over $4 a gallon, I'm putting in gas every week - $240 a month now and my schooling doesn't start until October. My car IS paid off, but I drive 20 miles every day for work (which is commission, so sometimes I work and make $0) and my nursing school will be about 15+ miles away on top of that. Not to mention when clinicals start I will be all over the place here. That's more than a brand new car payment every month in gas. So I titled this chipin event to include a car. Basically, any money donated will go towards my tuition and/or a car with better gas mileage.

My tuition costs are a little more than $50,000 for my 2 year bachelor program. Just know that any donation you make will not only help me, but help save many lives in the future. With your help, I will be able to get through schooling and pay it forward by saving lives every single day. And I appreciate ANYTHING given, even if it's 50 cents.

Even though I need the money myself, I plan to 'pay it forward' by donating some here and there on this site.

Please help me rescue my Cats

Posted by darfield on 2011-04-18 15:58:18

Hi, I desperatly need help moving my cats 2000 miles. Long story short, I was forced to leave my home abruptly, and am now disabled due to domestic violence. It is with much, much remorse that I had to leave my six cats behind. Most are old (one is 19) or have chronic illnesses that make them un-adoptable. I am in stable enviroment now, and can care for them. I need financial help to go get them and bring them here. I am unable to ship them because they would not pass a health examination, and it is very expensive. The cats are in Southern California and I am in Missouri. If you know of anyone who would be willing to "tag team" transport, or a long haul Trucker that would be willing to let them hitch a ride, please let me know. Short of that I am looking at renting a car and going to get them myself. My life was out of control in sooo many ways. I lost so much, my heart is broken. I need to make this right. None of this was the Cats fault. There was NO excuse for being violently attacked, however I am at fault for not getting out sooner. The Cats are not in danger but I fear they are not being cared for. I did call the authorities and relinquished my pets that are adoptable. Thank You for your consideration.

Travel fare for a job opportunity, and rent for March

Posted by mmar on 2011-03-16 12:58:48

I've received an opportunity to try out for an apprenticeship out of state. The position is right out of my category of "this is what I would have done with my life if I hadn't messed it up so bad." I need fare to get there and back so the employer can meet me, see if I'll work out, and make his choice. I think I have till early April. Then I need fare to get back out there (to Missouri, from California) if he hires me. My credit's shot, I'm in debt, and I have no income.I'm looking for work here in California, for over 2 months now, and the only offer I've received is this one from Missouri. I also need this month's rent ($400). Thanks for reading this

Please Help Me Send My Daughter to the Missouri Fine Arts Academy

Posted by craiganc on 2011-03-13 11:58:28

My 16 year old daughter was accepted to the summer program at the Missouri Fine Arts Academy. This is a wonderful opportunity for her and it will get her a jump start on college as she will receive 3 credit hours of Fine Arts that she can transfer to the school of her choice. We just need to raise $1500 to do this and I am looking for some help to make this possible for her. Please review her plea and I hope that you can find it in your heart to help her take part in this wonderful opportunity. There is a link to donate at the bottom of the letter. -------------------

A Summer Adventure at the Missouri Fine Arts Academy

A few months ago, I got an email from my teacher. It was about a music program provided by Missouri State University. It was for actors, writers, musicians, visual artists, and singers. I love music and acting, so the singers, the instrumentalists, and the actors programs intrigued me. For a while, I couldn't decide on which I wanted to do. I love to sing, I love to play the cello, and I love to act. Everyone said different things. I finally decided on singing since it is what I feel most passionate about.
Music truly is my life and I hope to make it my career along with acting. These arts fill up all parts of my life (I even finally gave in and started to take private lessons). Although, everytime I would get an oppurtunity to do what I wanted, I never had the money or was passed over to a favorite. Usually, it was because I had no money. Many acting schools have called me back after answering to an open call, but they always wanted $5000-10000 within a week of calling. I really thought I wouldn't be able to do what I wanted because of money.
Although, I have found the Missouri Fine Arts Academy. It seems wonderful. There are concerts, classes, and so many other things offered there. It is a huge chance like so many others. I don't want to pass it up. It is not just a chance to get a great education from it, but it also gives me a jumpstart on my college credits. Three whole credit hours from four weeks of study. This could be what I need to become successful!
I need money though. Like everything that is good, there is always a catch. I need 1500 dollars to pay for this school. I need help from other people. People that are my friends, my family, and anyone who has a dream even somewhat similar to mine. Even a dollar, heck even $0.50, would help me reach this goal. I just need to raise all the money I can. Thank you. Even if the only thing you can give is support, it helps.

All I want for Christmas, is love

Posted by ElaineSpencer on 2010-11-19 12:58:58

I live in Missouri, and my fiance is currently living in Tennessee. I was able to visit him in July, for my birthday, and I haven't seen him since.

I miss him so much, sometimes I cry myself to sleep. I have decided that I would like to see him on Christmas, but I don't have the money. I've tried everything I possibly can to get some extra money, to no avail.

A round trip ticket will cost 181 dollars via Greyhound. If I could get the money, I would feel a little better about the situation, knowing that I will be able to see him again soon. I have faith that someone will help me see my love again.

My best friend Penny who is 37 called today to inform me that her house had burned down yesterday. She lost everything. As if she hadn't already been through enough with losing her 36 year old husband of 10 years to cancer only a year ago and finding out she herself has a rare blood disorder that if she gets cut she could bleed to death and then losing her job as well. She has been through hell and is so very depressed! I am doing this to see if I can't get her some help so that she can replace everything that she lost. She lives in Missouri and it is 20 degrees there now and she lost all of her clothes, all of her household items and all of the pictures and special trinkets of her husband Ron who passed. Of course she can't replace those but I'm hoping that some of you will be able to donate and help her out so that she can have an easier time of things. Especially since it is the holidays and her husband passed away 2 days before Christmas the holiday season was already hard enough for her and now with this is just isn't going to be any easier on her. I have set up a paypal account and when the donations come in, they will go straight to her. Please remember that no amount is too small as it will all add up. Thank you in advance to all who help her. God Bless you all.
