I saved up enough money for school but now it turns out I don't have money for living expenses. I get a work permit in November 2012, but by then I won't have any money for next year. The expenses for each of the two years is $17,000, and I saved up just for one year. I need help in making ends meet. I have been looking for work on campus and it's not working out since I was told to wait until August and September for cleaning jobs and restaurant jobs at the school. All the tutoring jobs I have applied for on campus have not materialized so far.

If I do not finish this school, it is over for me. I spent many years in the US in school since 2001, and it resulted in nothing because they didn't give me a work permit, and they did not allow me to stay.I got two bachelors degrees from there but since I did not have citizenship or a green card, I had to leave.

If I finish school here in Canada, I will get a three year work permit, and I can finally be useful to myself and my family. I need to pay back money that I owe my uncle for paying for my primary and secondary education back home in the third world. I need to educate, or at least pay for my niece and nephew who are orphaned to go to college. I need to take care of my sick mother, I have been unable to do that so far because I had to pay for my education in the US out of pocket.

I have other on going problems such as loss of sight in one eye but then that is something to be dealt with when I finally finish school, it is not as urgent as getting the money to pay for school. No matter how badly everything else is going, even with my mom being sick and my being unable to send her money for treatment, school comes first even though ideally it should not be that way.

I have been involved in community service for many years. I worked with DC Habitat for Humanity on a house construction project. I also worked with refugees from 2010 to 2011 before I had to leave the US, I was tutoring English through International Rescue Committee. I am currently working with the Food Bank where I am, and over summer since I will have no on campus jobs, I plan on getting more volunteer jobs so I can give back to the community. Canada has given me so much, a chance at self improvement, so it's only natural that I want to say thank you to this great country.

I am not scared of working, infact when I was in the US I worked full time while going to school full time. I do not want to violate the student visa here in Canada because Canada is a kind country for immigrants and they will definitely give me the work permit come November 2012, as long as I do not work illegally before then.

I am planning to move out of my homestay right now and rent with schoolmates in order to minimize my expenses. I do not usually even eat things like meat, milk, eggs, all of which I do not like or I am allergic to. So I do know how to save money. I learned to live on very little while in the US so I need money to pay for my education so that I can maintain my student visa.

Please help, my family cannot afford to pay for my education, I do not have citizenship from a developed country to qualify for financial aid or scholarships, the scholarships from back home are mostly for those doing masters degrees and PhDs, I'm doing an associates degree right now. They also insist that you must not have already left the country before they give you the scholarship. I will be applying for scholarships in the schoool, and also some bursary from my government which might be only $500, and that is only if I can get someone back home to bribe someone in the Ministry of Education to get that bursary.

I have tried all ways to improve my life for many years, and this time education truly will be a key to improving my life. I am not a stranger to subjecting myself to medical experiments in order to earn more money to pay for school. I need help this time around, this is my last try at improving my future. Going back home will be a disaster since I do not have tall relatives (people with influence) to get me jobs. What's the point of my adding myself to the millions who are dependent on others for help?

My husband and I work very hard. We have two children, one of which is mentally disable. We are living paycheck to paycheck, and are so tired of constantly wondering what we are going to do. One thing that we do have is crazy faith. I dont know if God showed me this website to be blessed on someone that understands our circumstances, but I live to help others; I had a hard time at one point living from house to house, so I am just hoping to get some help to help others that are going through the same issue. I would like to finish my basement, garuage, and turn my deck into a sunroom. This will help me make room for those that become homeless and need a comfortable place to sleep untill they get on their feet. We had a family of 5 stay with us for 9 months, it was really cramped, but we made it work they best we could. I feel If I bless others God will bless me. I can only imagine how much all this will cost, but it makes me feel good to know that I can help someones family in need. I would say this would be somewhere around 30-40 thousand. Please help me.

99%? What about the 49%?

I do not believe I have any dedicated followers to this blog that I started about a week ago. I have added to the end of my blogs a donate button and I feel I need to justify the decision to do so. That is what this blog is about, and it probably should have been my first post.

It seems like there are three groups of people in America.

There is the rich. They get tax breaks simply for being rich. The philosophy is that if they spend less on taxes then they will invest it into production and buying stuff and it will “trickle down.” I am all for it if it works. But it doesn’t. They have had their tax breaks for about ten years and there isn’t anything trickling down my way.

Then there is the very poor. They claim to be incapable of working 40 hours a week because of mental or physical issues. They don’t get up very early in the morning, they don’t worry about the way they look. They collect social security, food stamps, unemployment and whatever else they can get for free. I know there are some people that legitimately can not work but I think there are a great deal of people that can and choose not to.

Instead of the 99% movement lets start a 49% movement.1% is uber-wealthy. About 50% pay no taxes and/or are a drain on our society. So that leaves 49%. I am the 49 percent and that fucking sucks! We can’t get ahead and we can’t get a hand.

Let me tell you a little more about myself. I work 60+ hours as a salesperson, which is non-commission based position. There are some things we can sell and if we sell it at a certain margin we can get a “spiff.” Unfortunately I sell building materials and not a lot of people are building right now. Also the the things that you can get a spiff on are high-end items that are difficult to sell in a good economy. I still try like hell though. In the interest of getting as many hours as possible there is no job I will not do or that is too menial. I will sell, I will work out in the yard and drive a forklift, do deliveries, stack lumber, shovel snow, sweep, empty trash, stock shelves, answer the phone,work the register or anything else that will keep me from getting sent home or laid off.

I started this blog about a week ago. I was looking for another way to make money doing something I enjoyed in my “spare” time. As well as working 60 hours a week I am also a divorced dad that takes his kids every weekend. So there isn’t a whole lot of time for a second job. I looked into the Ebay thing and realized I really don’t have anything left to sell.

Also looked into doing surveys. On average you can get a dollar for each 45-60 minute survey you take. I still do this occasionally. If I have time and can find a few that I feel are worth my time. Any little amount helps.

I thought I might eventually be able to monetize this blog by putting up enough content to get advertisers interested. It will probably take several months and a lot of writing before this might be possible. Until then I will keep the donate button on here.

My point here is that I started looking for a way to get my head back above water a week ago and things have gotten far worse since then. I went to the grocery store yesterday and in my estimation prices have gone up close to 25% on most of the things I buy. In a week!

And the price of gas....

My job is about a 25 minute commute from where I live. There is no public transportation where I live and I do not think a 25 minute commute is unreasonable. But even with a car that gets 28 miles to the gallon and gas prices being what they are it is a huge strain on the wallet. They are talking about the price of gas going up twenty cents over one weekend! I topped off yesterday in the hopes of saving two bucks.


I don’t have the answers but it seems like this system of government and politics doesn’t work. We elect a Republican for 4-8 years and when they fail to fix everything we elect a Democrat. They don’t make our problems go away either and in another 4-8 years we try another Republican and so on. Its like having two cartons of milk in the refrigerator. You take a sip of one carton and its sour, you take a sip from the other carton and it is sour too. So you try the first carton again. What? It’s still sour? Weird. Maybe we should try the second carton again....

Come on people! Can’t we get together? We need to throw out the rotten fucking milk, get off our dead asses and get down to the store and buy some fresh fucking milk!

I was already falling behind. Then it only took one small medical emergency and one car repair to put me even further in the hole. Between money I had to put up for office visits, medical procedures that had to be done, car repairs, and lost time at work it cost me over a thousand dollars that I did not have to spend. Now I am possibly facing eviction.

And I know there are people out there that need the money far more than I do. I don’t have cancer, my kids do not need a life-saving medical procedure and I am not living on the streets yet. All I am asking is that if you understand where I am coming from and you like what I have to say help me out and donate a couple of bucks. I am not asking you to “give until it hurts,” and if you don’t have it to give then I don’t want it.

If you can’t help me out by donating money, then help me out by sounding off in the comments and telling me how I can make this blog better or what I should do different. I openly welcome harsh criticism and all opposing viewpoints.

I am not looking for millions of dollars, thousands of dollars or even hundreds of dollars. I would be very happy with tens of dollars. Ten bucks accumulated over a week from several people would be a huge shot in the arm right now. If I made an extra ten bucks from donations it would buy me enough gas to get back and forth to work for two days. Or it would cover the rising cost of my grocery bill. Right now that would be huge.

Give what you can. Every penny counts. Or offer your suggestions or both. Donate some obscure amount and put that same amount in the comments or send me an email telling me the obscure amount you donated and I will reply personally to those comments and emails. I will probably respond whether you donate or not.

I'm the girl who would give anyone the shirt off my back. Unfortunately, this has left me standing here needing my shirt back.

I'm single. I don't have any children. No one to support but myself. I'm educated. I'm not an addict or a gambler. My parents gave me all the tools I needed to be a successful contributor to society. So I should be able to handle this, right?

The hard lesson I've learned is that you can't give what you don't have. And sometimes, it needs to be okay to say no. A dollar here and there to the Ronald McDonald House, March of Dimes, Easter Seals, etc. = a good way to give to several worthy causes. A hundred dollars here and there to a friend in need, to the church, to the poor or other worthy cause = still doable. A thousand dollars (x4) to the jerk who broke my heart = big, huge mistake.

There are millions who deserve your compassion more than I do and I would encourage you to help them first. If after that, you have a little left over and can relate to the jam I've gotten myself into, I would appreciate any support you can lend.

I am swallowing every ounce of pride that I have in doing this. And I'm fairly certain it won't amount to anything but I feel I have run out of options. I just need to get my head above water and move forward.

And, though I've learned my lesson, I will make a promise to pay it forward (WITHOUT getting myself into the same situation again).

My MS has taken much from me. I can't walk--I use a wheelchair and now I use a hoyer lift to get from bed to wheelchair. I've been considered completely disabled for a decade. I am really struggling to make ends meat right now. I had £10,000 of Credit Card debt run up just paying bills and a few years of stupidity spending beyond my means.I have been slowly getting myself back on my feet. I have managed to get this debt down to £4600 as of 4th Dec 2012 by living on the bread line but I am really struggling to keep a roof over my head. Well where do I start. I just found this website earlier today. I am about to graduate in the spring of 2013 with a bachelors in Computer Science. I work a 9.00 an hour job through college and still currently hold this job, helps me pay for tutition/books etc. The problem I have that causes me severe self esteem problems that get worse and worse are my teeth. They are horrible and gross and are only getting worse. This causes me to be extremely anti social, when presentations are to be done in class I have to explain my situation to my professor and they typically allow me to do my presentation just to them. I have a huge problem going on interviews. As soon as I am done with school I am sure I will be going on a lot of interviews and want to be able to do this with confidence. I can't talk to a girls at all that is out of the question. I just want to have fresh teeth. It is not as bad as a lot of the stories on here but it really does seriously affect me. I have no dental coverage, I had to have emergency procedure done to have my wisdoms removed. They were so infected, I had let them go for so long and finally the pain began to be to unbearable. I went to the ER and now have about 1,000 in medical bills. I hope to pay this off in the future. I would really just like help having the work done on my mouth so I can feel confident again. The only thing that has gotten better is as I have gotten older is my fellow classmates do not abuse me for my teeth (as much) But my confidence is so in the gutter I can't even truly explain. So I am just looking for some assistance. I have a few places I can go to that do special procedures that cause me little pain and can give me a brand new mouth. I also do not qualify for any of the credit companies that would be able to help me. Wall Street and the big banks were bailed out of debt. What happened to us on mainstreet? I posted a plea the other day explaining my situation, but am changing it to read like this.
I owe close to $1000.00 in property and mobile home taxes. Two are considered deliquent. The other two are due the end of Novermber. The longer I can't pay, the more interest is added. My property taxes keep rising every six months. The value of my property has dropped because of the housing bust. Most non-profit charities will not help with property taxes. I work part-time cleaning private houses. It is the only job I can find in my area.It barely-I mean barely- covers my utilities, car insurance, etc. The state can legally take my home just like a mortgage lender if I cannot pay my taxes. I have an old computer with dialup so I cannot join Facebook or twitter due to outdated technology.

Therefore, I am challenging a rich Wall Street banker or other rich banker or anybody with money to burn to help bail me (Jane Q. Public) out of the tank. I cannot pay you back, but I will thank you personally if given the opportunity. I also have other outstanding bills. A doctor bill for $118.00. And I also need the basic necessities of life. Hygiene products, toilet paper, dog food. $25.00 for a flu shot. You name, I can use it. I am in survival mode and have been for the last couple of years.

So, if anyone would like to tweet, facebook me, or whatever to get the attention of a rich, wealthy person I would be eternally gratefully.

We live in a small, cheap, dumpy house, but its our home. Its nothing fancy, its small, and we are crowded in here. We are two years behind in taxes because we both lost our jobs last year. My husband was self employed, and the due to the economy in michigan we had to close down. So, no unemployment. I worked two part-time jobs, and lost both of them. again, no unemployment. We have been living off savings, and selling stuff, but it isnt enough. My husband has put in over 150 resume's, I have put in a 103. No one wants to hire people in their 40's and 50's when they can hire someone in their 20's or 30's.

We just got a notice our house will go up for tax sale in March if we dont pay $1,700. We cant get a loan without employment. Our house payment is cheaper than rent, so selling isnt much of an option, especially since the market here is so down, I doubt we could even find a buyer. We don't expect to get $1700 obviously, but even if we could get something to put down on it and buy us some time.

We have three kids, our cars are 13 years old, and we have never bought new anything. We never lived off credit cards or run ourselves into debt. I shop at thrift stores, and coupon for groceries. Its not a matter of wasting our money, but being unable to stretch what we have to cover this. I'm sure there are millions of families just like ours. I promise that if we get help, we will pay it forward once we are back on our feet.

I've like millions of others got caught in the crosshairs of this economic decline. On top of that impact I was left to save my home when wife of 17 years left;within a year i got deathly ill and was at local hospital ICU a month and a rehab Hospital a 2nd month, both in Ga, A spinal infection precipitated 4 minor stokes which in turn cost me my fulltime employment as a college instructor. I had served in Viet Nam and returned injured only to lose benefits due my new found anti-war position.
Like everyone else i finally got SSI and very small disability stipend.
Now each month my country dream home becomes a smaller prison as I struggle against the foreclosure monster. My mortgage equals my SSI so electric bills, medical bills, car insurance. (1985 Nisson) get juggled if im well enough to earn extra.
It's a long story but they all are.
I have a couple of creative projects with potential but my fear and day to day struggle drain me. I ve written most of a unique stage play/rock musical working title "God died in 66". An investment in the work would be considered{was in 1969 Chicago cast of Hair,as well as movies such as LeoFrank on GPS tonite }.

My name is Rachel, and I will be a freshman at UNC Chapel Hill next year.

I plan on a pre-med course of study, and I ultimately want to become a neurosurgeon. I decided on this path for my life after a 6 year old buddy of mine died from a terminal brain tumor. I was outraged that modern medicine had nothing to offer her, and I decided to dedicate my life to changing the fate of other kids in her situation.


I received a $634 grant from UNC for financial aid, and that's it.

I estimate that I have to come up with about $9000 each semester in order to pay for books, travel, food, tuition, and room/board.

I have a part-time, minimum wage job at a local restaurant, but a majority of that money goes towards gas and insurance for my car.

So here's my plan: a penny is nothing. Worthless; what can you buy with a penny? Millions and millions of people visit Begslist every day, and millions of Begslist users have a penny they could spare.

The good news is, I don't even need millions of pennies. I only need 900,000 pennies a semester!

My name is Ashley and I'm a sophomore in college. I hate blogging but I figured I should type something up to tell you guys a little about me and my fund. Obviously, whatever I raise here will go straight to my college tuition. As you all may know college is expensive. I hate that you pretty much have to go IN debt with student loans and such, in order to better yourself so that you can get a nice career. It's all a fucked up system and unfortunately it's unavoidable.

Any contributions are very much appreciated- no matter if you send $1 or $100. I know the economy sucks and many people's finances are tight. Gas prices are reaching $5.00 and above. What kind of shit is that?! I predict a huge boom in bicycle sales this summer.

What I also predict is a lot of negative feedback about this. I am already anticipating getting spammed with hate emails. They'll probably sound similar to this: "Why don't you try going out and finding a job? What makes you think you deserve free handouts? YOU SUCK!" blah blah blah... go ahead and hit me with all of those punches. I won't blame you... I know how frustrating it can be to see someone get a little help while doing absolutely nothing while others are out there putting in concrete effort, struggling, making things happen. My response to all of that is, I love the internet. Do you know why I love the internet? Because anything goes. Make your own little chip in page. Do what I'm doing for yourself.

I have been a struggling entreprenuer since the early 90's. While I was a law enforcement officer full time.I have owned a cleaning services in nyc for a few years that I lost trying to help others that only cared about themselves. I Lost alot of money and all my cleaning contracts with the applebees restaurants. Then in 2007 I left my cop job to work for myself full time instead. I opened a partnership business as a financial consultant. The economy killed that business. My lenders and investment firms just stopped lending money. So therefore, my clients couldn't get the funds they needed for their projects. Which meant that I couldn't get any commissions from my clients. So that business died. As you can see I have been trying to acheive financial freedom for well over a decade. And I am still determined to do just that. I am now fixing to get into a business that I should have gotten involved with back in the 90's. It's definitely recession proof! In fact the bad economy has set the demand for this type of service in over drive. Heck! The need for this type of service has been in over drive since the 9/11 tragedies. The industry I am talking about is SECURITY!!!. I know I cannot fail with this business! Why?! Because there is a strong demand for it! Especially down here in charlotte nc where I now live. Security covers a broad spectrum in services. I intend to do the obvious. Which is security guard and patrol services. The problem is I have no more money to start my security guard business. I am currently an armed security guard who just got laid off as of 03/31/11. And I can't go back to work until my GUARD CARD from the state comes back. I can no longer work while waiting for it to come in (ALTHOUGH I'VE BEEN ACTIVELY WORKING SINCE LAST SEPTEMBER). The bright side is that I have time to set things in motion for my own business. The downside is, I will be living off of $155.00 in unemployment benefits. Which I won't receive my first payment for another two weeks. Which will not do much since I have a pregnant wife, a 5 year old autistic daughter, a one year old son. And I am also paying child support to my 15 year old son's mom back in nyc. YES I AM FLAT BROKE! If it wasn't for my daughter's SSI benefits our rent wouldn't be paid this month. I really am feeling like less of a man on that fact alone. I want to provide for my family the way a REAL man should. And I know that I can do it again with this security business! But I need money to get it going. I am going to need about $500,000.00. This 500K will afford me the opportunity to buy patrol vehicles, uniforms, office space,supplies, business insurance, equipment and at least 2 salaries for the first year out. I intend to service the neighborhood watch program communities. Since no companies are doing it. I don't know why they aren't but it is a HOT market right now. And with my 13 years of law enforcement experience. As well as an additional 8 years of security experience. I know that I can put together a very effective and well saught after security force. So if there is anyone out there, out of the millions upon millions of people that are online right now, tomorrow, and everyday that wants to help me out. Please donate a simple measley $1.00 bill towads my business venture. If you want to donate more $2.00,$5.00, or even $10.00 or $20.00. Obviously I will NOT turn those donations down. But knowing how hard it is these days for people financially. I know $10.00 to $20.00 just might be just too much. But four quarters, 100 pennies shouldn't be hard at all to donate to some stranger that you don't even know. And I must say that I also have a deep passion to help others. Their are so many good people out there that want to work. But just cannot find a decent paying job. I will be in the position to hire these people that want to pursue a career in the security field. I know it's offensive to ask for money for this reason, since I believe most of people using this website need money for more serious reasons.
There's millions of people in the world that couldn't care less about 1 dollar,1 pound or 1 euro, if those same millions where to give 1 dollar or 1 euro I would be millionaire.
If I get to my target I then will be able to produce even more money and be able to help out people in away that I can't now.

Unemployment was just cut off for millions of people. I'm one of them. I was able to pay my bills with unemployment (after I scaled back many things) but now that's gone, and no one is sure if Congress will step up and do what they need to do. I have $96 in my bank account and no other source of income. Luckily my last unemployment check was just enough to cover December's rent. That's it. There is no more. I cut back on every bill I had when I first lost my job. I was able to get down to $1300 in bills, that includes rent, elec, phone, car pmt and insurance. I have no idea what I'm going to do. My next step is to sell everything I own, except clothes, my car, and my memories. I am a 38 yr old single female with no children, no family, and don't have any "rich" friends I could hit up for money. The few friends I do have are in the same boat. I'm here to solicit donations from whomever is willing to help me out. My main concern is my car. If I lose my car, I lose my lifeline, and if worse comes to worse, I can sleep and live in my car if I have to do so. I also have two cats that won't be able to understand that there is no food. This post sounds like a lot of rambling, but I don't how else to say it. If I am still unable to convince someone to hire me, I will be homeless next month. I never dreamed, even after knowing how bad the economy is, that it would take this long to find a job. What the heck? Please someone, anyone, help me with something, anything you can. Pennies add up to dollars. I have a paypal account, but if you want to make a check or money order out to pay directly to my apartment complex, car lienholder, electric company, etc., I have no problem with that. I just don't know what else to do, so I came here hoping for a miracle. God Bless!

I am not here to ask for money at all. I know there are thousands, if not millions who need it more than me. If you are willing to give money, then please give it to someone else, I am on job seekers allowance, yes its hard to live off, but Im still alive.
I have been made redundant from my last 3 jobs. This is getting beyond a joke. I apply on average of 50 jobs a day. I have only 2 interviews a week (on average) but then theres 100's of applicants who apply too. I am a solid worker and will do anything to get back on my feet. I apprieciate those who want to donate, but I have been brought up to earn my money.
