Help me save my home!

Posted by camlie on 2012-05-10 07:58:24

Two years ago my husband lost his job. We live in Michigan so finding another job was difficult to say the least. In between loosing his job & finding another we spent every penny we had saved trying to keep up with our mortgage & other bills. Once we got behind, it became impossible to catch up so now we are facing foreclosure. We called our mortgage company & they said that if we can pay them $35,000 by June 15th we will be paid in full & own our home outright! We owe them $110,000 but they are willing to forgive that & accept $35,000!!! If we cant come up with that amount they will foreclose & we will be homeless. We have gone to family members but sadly no one will help us. This is everything to me, I have been so depressed & afraid. What will my children think of me? Please help us, any little bit will help. Thank you & God Bless you!

Help me get to the 2012 Disc Golf World Championships!

Posted by StrongHeart on 2012-04-27 15:58:11

I have been invited by the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) to play in the World Championships this year. I am currently registered but now I am worried about not having enough money to make it there. The tournament is in North Carolina and I am from Michigan. This is the first year that I have been invited and would be devastated if a lack of funds prevented me from playing.

My husband has been out of a job for over a year now and we've been struggling to pay mortgage and electric enough as is. I work full time but it's not easy to live off one income. Until he finds a job, for which he is constantly searching, I don't have any extra money in my budget for extras like tournaments but this is such a great opportunity for me.

I need all the help I can get and every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated! I am going to be fundraising locally to help cover the cost of hotel accommodations.

Help support women in disc golf!

Free My Jeep Payment

Posted by FreeMyJeep on 2012-02-27 12:58:35

Hello everyone I am very new to internet begging as they call it. A little background about me. I am a Paramedic working in a rural area in Michigan. I have been working in EMS for 6 years now. I love doing what I do everyday, saving people and helping them in thier time of need is very rewarding personally. Unfortunatly Being a Paramedic is not very rewarding finacially. I consistantly work 72 to 84 hours a week to try and make ends meet. These hours have been cut due to budgets being cut down to 48 a week. The overtime is just not there anymore. Without this overtime I am having a hard time making my car payment. I currently pay $300 a month in a car payment for my Jeep. I love my Jeep, anyone who has experince a rural MI winter knows that 4 wheel drive is a must have. However with rising gas prices and the high monthly payment I am having trouble paying it. I am asking for any help that you can donate to me to help alleviate my costs. I really do appreciate any and all. Thank you to anyone who donates! I truely am greatful!

Family of5 in a motel room

Posted by needyfamily609 on 2012-02-05 23:58:37

To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Jean and I am a mother of three. I am married to William, for 4 years and we are NJ natives. I am a caregiver for my 60 year old mother who was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Failure in January of 2011.

In June of 2010 my mother came from Michigan to live with me with the intention of helping me and my husband by watching our children during our working hours. My husband and I both work very long hours, and the children would have been required to spend long periods of time alone. So my mother came to help us fill the gap. In October of 2010, my mother’s health took a turn for the worse and it was continually getting worse as the year progressed. By January of 2011 my mother was unable to stand for any length of time and was always short of breath.

On February 10th I admitted my mother to the emergency room @ ACMC/Mainland. She was immediately diagnosed with kidney failure. She was admitted to ICU and on February 12th she had a cardiac arrest, due to toxic levels of magnesium, in her system. My mother suffered a sustained brain injury and to this day has a deficit she will have to live with forever. This deficit has taken away her ability to drive, live on her own, or be without some type of supervision.

My family suffered an extreme financial crisis that is ongoing and increasingly more devastating. I was out of work on FMLA for 8 weeks without pay. I was given $1200 in disability payments. I was allowed back to work, but with a significant decrease in pay and a change of position.

We have fallen behind in our bills in a catastrophic way. It seems the more we pay the more we owe. In fact, for the last week we have been without running water. Our gas has been off for three weeks and we use that for hot water, heat, and cooking. Our bank fees for the month of September have been astronomical (well over $400) for NSF charges and Service fees. This is just spiraling out of control. The children attend a local charter school and Pleasantville High school. Each child only has one pair of shoes and one uniform because I can’t get ahead of the curve to get them additional ones. The little ones need their school logo embroidered on the uniforms but that cost more than the shirt did.

We feel helpless and without some type of help we will continue to be a homeless family of six. We are currently living in a motel on the edge of our town. This is a pay by the hour type of place but it is the only place that will charge us by the week and will allow one of use to sleep on the floor. We are soliciting any type of help you can give. Please be mindful that we are hard working members of society. We have been working since we got out of high school. We are not beggars and we are willing to give back in the form of community service.
All I know is that we need help! Immediately or we’ll be past saving!
Thank you,
Jean Elam

Urgently need help

Posted by vlsvls on 2012-02-04 09:58:39

My begging request is serious enough for me to google for help. I am hoping somebody out there will help us.

Our house is presently freezing and I am in dire need of temporary help to get some fuel to keep us warm as well as my precious lil dog. We ran out of fuel and because we have no money to pay the gas company in back fuel, we cannot get any propane. To add inujury to insult, we are also behind on our property and school taxes. We have a house in Michigan that we were renovating by the skin of our teeth so that we can sell it for money, but just yesterday, we received a certified letter with a tax foreclosure on it.The property taxes on that house is behind. We cannot afford to foreclose on this house as it is our ticket to some money to help us with this house. We owe the contractor money for the work he has presently completed. He is now threatened to put a mechanic lien on the house. As you can see, our dire situation needs help as soon as possible.

We got behind in all bills because we ran out of money. My significant other was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 with multiple surgeries and since then, we have been going downhill. Utilizing our savings, selling everything we can possibly see. We live month to month now from social security and disability checks. I have no place else to turn as my own family does not have any money to help me nor does my significant other. Every place we turn to for help with this issue is a dead end. His disability pays the mortgage. We are truly strapped right at the moment. Is there anything you can do to help us out on this very cold day and with our property taxes? I can pay back whatever money is loan because I have a law suit settlement pending for a car accident I was involved in which required my having surgery. I just don’t know where else to turn. Please help me? I am begging. (I can’t get a settlement load because I am on a contingency basis). Our credit scores are not the greatest and that prevents us from getting any type of a loan.

If there is any way underneath the sun someone can come forward and help us, it would be greatly appreciated OR please guide us to a source where we can obtain a loan with the way our credit now stands. I have a judgment (which just recently surfaced) and now I am starting to pay that off at $50.00 per month which is an additional bill I cannot afford.

We have proof of anything I mentioned above. This is not a scam email.

p.s. I have also reached out to the Warren Buffet family foundation for some help per an email I sent and response I received. We are not guaranteed that we will get the help since they receive thousands of letters for help every day.

NEED A JOB

Posted by worklesswitch on 2012-01-25 13:58:17

I have worked for the most part since the age of fifteen. My first job I mopped floors in a small bake shop. One week I would mop the front, and the next week I would mop both the from and the back. I would make $1.00 the first week and $1.50 the next week. Back then that would go quite a ways. I have worked in food service but am looking and willing to learn new areas. I have bakery experience and stocking and receiving experience. I however am unable to drive a forklift. I am unable to drive as a result of almost dieing when I was six months old. Am looking for work in The Muskegon Michigan area, or something that I can do at home without any cold calling or having to have someone call you. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Entry level positions where no or little experience is required would be a big help..

Disabled, Broke And No Where To Turn!

I'm a 45 year old woman from Detroit Michigan and I'm at the end of my rope. I was hit by a stray bullet in the 90's which left me wheelchair bound and my life has been going downhill ever since. I need help with my rent, lights and food. It's been so hard and I don't know where else to go or what to do. If anyone out there can help me out with anything it will much appreciated, thank you.

I need help fast! $622 past due rent.

Posted by kaizen76 on 2012-01-08 21:58:56

Hey all i'm a single male of 35 yrs old who is struggling big time to try and catch up my current past due rent. I work at Target making just under $8 per hour and i'm stuck in 1 Fifth Third bank payday loan and 2 other payday loans that is destroying me financially. I live in Michigan and am a tentant at Crossroads Apartments and while I have lived there for 11 years now i've fallen behind on rent constantly the past year or so. My landlady has had enough and is about to take me to court. If I can get just any kind of help at all to catch up with my rent, I can deal with rolling over my payday loans til I find a 2nd job to finally pay them off and get rid of them. Even 200 or 300 dollars will help! Anything! I'm at my wits end! :(

Please help me move to Florida and make my deadline!

Posted by cmpeterson87 on 2011-12-14 01:58:06

My name is Christopher and I live in Northern Michigan The economy is struggling, and thus far I’ve been pulled down with it.

Money is very tight, and prospects of employment are even more scarce. As we move into the winter months, it has yet to snow here, which is damaging an economy that depends on winter tourism. If there’s no snow, there are no tourists. If there are no tourists, there are no jobs.

In the wake of all this, I just turned 24 and have been given the opportunity to leave this area and try to better my situation. A couple of weeks ago, I was notified that I had received the role of “Pharoah” in the Manatee Players production of Elton John and Tim Rice’s “Aida” in Bradenton, Florida. I am so excited to have the chance to move to Florida and begin again. Unfortunately, it has been difficult to put any money away to be able to move. Without any regular work, I have barely been able to pay my bills, let alone save any money.

I have been doing everything I can think of to raise funds including trying (with little success) to pick up odd jobs and even selling personal possessions. So far, this has not gone as I had hoped, and I have not been able to save much of anything.

Rehearsals begin just after New Years Day. Ideally, I would like to be in Florida and settled by the first of the year.

I need help. I don’t like asking for it. But I need it.

I love to sing and I want to act more than anything. Where I live, the chances to do that are just so small. If there is anyone out there who is an enthusiast and patron of the arts and loves them, as I always have…. PLEASE help me get to Bradenton and get settled. I’m a jack of all trades and master of none, and should be able to find work relatively soon. That is, if I don’t find a job in the area before I leave Michigan.

Any donations received will be directed solely toward transportation to Florida, securing a place to live, rent and food while I’m in the process of relocating. The link below is connected to my paypal account for donations. For my security and yours, I’d like to do this via paypal only.

I’m hoping to leave Traverse City the day after Christmas, but right now, I don’t think it’s possible. This is the holiday season, and with your help, I want to make this one I’ll never forget.

Thank you for your help from the bottom of my heart.

Dad of 3 boys in need of help

Posted by nathanw on 2011-11-17 01:58:53

I need help in many areas. My biggest need right now is to help get food on the table for my kids and get them some winter clothes as it gets very cold here in michigan. My wife was laid off and subsequently denied unemployment and has since not been able to find new work. I am working but it takes everything I make topay our bills. Most weeks we have maybe $40 for grocery's and with 3 boy's age 14,11, and 10 it is very difficult to but healthy food for them. We have applied for food assistance but that can take up to 6 weeks here in michigan.

With our finances being as tight as they are getting them clothes and new winter coats and hats just is not in the budget luckily it has not been too cold yet but those days are coming and fast.

I could not ask for better children they never complain about not having much, never complain about not having the newest clothes or the best shoes they really are good kids. I know the day is coming when I will be able to provide for them the way I want to, Just need the patience to get there.

I know there are many people struggling right now, I get that. I am not saying that my situation is any more dire than any other family. All I am asking is if you can help please do so, if not thank you for taking the time to read my post.... god bless

Need money for Student Expenses

Posted by aliceloyd on 2011-11-16 23:58:50

Hello, I'm currently a sophomore at the University of Michigan. I was laid off my job here and I still have many expenses such as rent, books next semester, and my tuition bills to consider. I could really use some help until I find a replacement job.

Due to my family's financial situation, I did receive quite a bit of help from FAFSA, but it failed to cover around $6,000 of my costs this year. In addition to this, rent on campus is outrageous. I am forced to pay $800 a month to live in a rinky-dink apartment that smells like dying cats and usually floods from the sewage tank every other month. I just need a little boost for a month until I can get up on my feet again.

To anyone who donates, thank you so much. I promise it is much appreciated and will go to a good cause; and education and the costs that come with it.

Need help paying house taxes

Posted by homeowner on 2011-10-15 07:58:58

We live in a small, cheap, dumpy house, but its our home. Its nothing fancy, its small, and we are crowded in here. We are two years behind in taxes because we both lost our jobs last year. My husband was self employed, and the due to the economy in michigan we had to close down. So, no unemployment. I worked two part-time jobs, and lost both of them. again, no unemployment. We have been living off savings, and selling stuff, but it isnt enough. My husband has put in over 150 resume's, I have put in a 103. No one wants to hire people in their 40's and 50's when they can hire someone in their 20's or 30's.

We just got a notice our house will go up for tax sale in March if we dont pay $1,700. We cant get a loan without employment. Our house payment is cheaper than rent, so selling isnt much of an option, especially since the market here is so down, I doubt we could even find a buyer. We don't expect to get $1700 obviously, but even if we could get something to put down on it and buy us some time.

We have three kids, our cars are 13 years old, and we have never bought new anything. We never lived off credit cards or run ourselves into debt. I shop at thrift stores, and coupon for groceries. Its not a matter of wasting our money, but being unable to stretch what we have to cover this. I'm sure there are millions of families just like ours. I promise that if we get help, we will pay it forward once we are back on our feet.

Between a Rock n Hard Place

Posted by RocknHardPlace on 2011-09-19 09:58:45

I met my wife in October of 2001 at a Mexican restaurant when we both lived in Mesa, Arizona. It was love at first sight; I knew she was the only one for me. And I was bold enough to ask her to marry me just 6 hours after we met. She is my cheerleader and keeps me going, even on my worse days. She persists until she can make me laugh. We were married March of 2003 and have been together everyday since. We volunteered in pet rescue adopts, Pat Tillman walks, Cancer and Alzheimer walks. Like most people in these times of struggle, have lost our jobs and place to live while in Arizona. We took a few belongings packed into boxes and our 2 cats. We spent our last dime to drive back to Michigan and be with family.

The plan was to live with my wife's parents, while we rebuild our finances and get out on our own again. However, that plan crashed and burned within one week of being there. The step-father decided he changed his mind about the whole thing and asked us to leave. Fortunately, my sister and her husband also lived in Michigan and took us in. It was to be for a short term as they are also struggling, but is close to becoming a year. Also during this time our car was repossessed, we picked up an almost 20 year old car cheap. My wife was lucky and was able to find a temporary work program right away and that will last until spring of 2012.

I was not so lucky; I applied to every company in a 60 mile radius. I have went between several temp jobs and no work for the last 9 months, while waiting for full-time work. Finally in August, I landed a full-time job 60 miles from home; this of course is hard on the used car we picked up and draining all our funds on gas money. We have now been told that we have to move out by November 1st of this year. The problem is that we have spent any money coming in on gas for the car to get us back to forth to work and what little is left over on food we contribute to the house.

We have been approved on an apartment very close to my job and still 25 miles to my wife's job. It is $1,200.00 just for the apartment, we also need to rent a small truck and get the boxes up north from storage and connect utilities and buy some food. We anticipate this costing us $3,000.00 to complete the goal. If we save hard and only spend money on gas and car insurance and no food we may have a 1/3 of what we need by Nov. 1st. We would still need to get a bed, couch, and table and 2 chairs to eat our meals at. That will come in time as long as we are together, I don’t care if we sleep on the floor. We have never been in need before and have prolonged asking for help. I just do not see another way and I am asking for help now. Please help us in getting the funds to move on with our lives. I am sure that once we are, things will continue to get better.

I thank you for your time in reading this. Whatever funds you can afford to donate will be forever appreciated.

Logan's Heros

Posted by cori00125 on 2011-09-17 17:58:47

I am a 32 year old working mom of three beautiful children and I have the most wonderful husband anyone could ask for. We have the perfect mid-west life. We both work full time (and enjoy what we do), have a nice home, we're able to afford some luxuries in life although in moderation, that is enough for me. I enjoy cooking, and entertaining in my time off from work, and spending family time with my kids, parents, and neighbors. My children are Jordon (age 13), Logan (age 10), and Brianna (age 9). The kids are active in sports, and in our small community we are well known, and frequently can be seen volunteering at community events, church, and our local high school, of which we are both alumni. I live less than two miles from the home I grew up in. Sounds perfect if you ask me.

On February 18th, 2011 our son Logan (age 10) was diagnosed with a large brain tumor. He was not having many symptoms only occasional headaches. I was concerned that he may have been developing migraines and so I took him to see our family physician. His physical exam was normal including a rather thorough neurological exam. Dr. Arntz agreed with my initial thought and prescribed him some migraine medication. What a relief! He asked us to get a CT scan of Logan's head only as a precaution and he even stated that he didn't think there was any real concern, just a precaution. 5 days later, we were heading to the University of Michigan; Mott's childrens hospital because his precautionary CT scan had confirmed the worst for us. A 6 cm brain tumor in the posterior fossa of Logan's brain. Causing the cerebral spinal fluid to back up and create pressure in his head (hence the headaches).

Before leaving the house for the hospital we gave Logan a brief description of the problem, and explained to him that we didn't know what was going to happen next but we were going to the hospital to find out. You could see the worry on him but he was tough, shrugged his shoulders and said, "Well, I guess I better call it something, I think I'll name it Steve." So off we went, notifying family on the way to the hospital, and completely sick to my stomach.

Three days later we would embark on the scariest days of my life. Logan was promptly scheduled for surgery the following Monday and we were told there was a high probability that the tumor was cancerous. Dr. Cormac Maher performed 14 hours of brain surgery on Logan on Monday February 21st, and confirmed our fears that Logan indeed had a cancerous brain tumor called medulloblastoma. Then more bad news the post operative MRI showed that they had been able to remove all of the tumor and Logan would need more surgery. The next day he underwent another 6 hours of brain surgery. We caught it early but based on where the tumor sat he may not be able to talk or walk normally for 3-6 months. Lucky for us he talks and walks very well all things considered. But there has been radiation therapy and chemo therapy will continue until February or March of next year. There is a 75-80% chance of survivability, I feel blessed with those odds.

Logan is doing very well but this situation has put an incredible financial burden on us. I am falling behind on bills and need help. Andy is working constantly and I even started a second job on the weekends to try to help supplement the lost income from prescriptions, gas to and from the hospital, and just having to take time off work for appointments and Logan's sick days... I don't know what else to do. The banks have tried thankfully to work with us but our circumstance is not going to change for quite awhile longer. Our family's do not have a lot of money, and have already tried to help so much that I think it may be putting a strain on them as well. The church sends gas cards occasionally but there is just not enough to keep us going for the next year.

Here' s the kicker, Logan started his own Relay for Life team. I had taken him to a local expo about 3 weeks after he had been discharged from the hospital because I thought it would be good exercise for him to walk around and there would be lot's to look at, and there was a booth for the American Cancer Society. He walked up to the lady at the booth and he said " How old do you have to be to have a team?" She signed him up on the spot. Logan Bailey's Super Survivors have raised $8300.00 for the American Cancer Society! He's only a little more than $1600.00 away from his goal of raising $10000.00 for the Relay for Life. We've held auctions, bake sales, and concerts. It's been a wonderful distraction for him and he is super excited about reaching that fund-raising goal. We have asked our friends to contribute to his goals in lieu of giving us personal financial assistance. It's more important to me that his endeavors to do more for others, are successful.

We cannot change Logan's circumstance. He will always be a brain cancer survivor, and I will forever be a medullo-mom. But, if we can make this even minutely easier for others having to face it after us then we will do it. Logan donated "Steve the brain tumor" to medical research and he volunteered to participate in a medical research trial for his treatments. We hope that the money raised for the American Cancer Society will make a difference in research and support for anyone suffering with a cancer diagnosis. We hope that the research will make the work of wonderful, selfless, people like Dr. Maher and his team easier and more successful. If I had been diagnosed with this same type of cancer at the age of ten it would have been a terminal diagnosis... the research is working!!

I need help, I need financial help for my family so that we can stop the worrying over finances and concentrate on bringing our entire family through this successfully looking at it in a positive light and remembering that we did it with hearts full of love and with others in mind. Logan is a truly remarkable child and I am so proud of him. I anxiously await your response Thank you for your consideration.

As like everyone else on this site, The past 2 years have not been so kind to me. My story is this as short as i can make it; two years ago I lost my job of 6 years, in these past two years I have looked for a job non stop, ( I have never been without work since I was 15) but living in Michigan or heck just living anywhere right now is beyond tough! I recently got divorced and had to move in with family, on a good note I got my GED and am now attending college. What I need help with is paying for my vehicle loan and insurance... So I can continue to go to school and get a job after college and to also see my two young boys as well. The really sad thing is, the vehicle is almost paid off - im on my last year of payments... its like being 20 ft from the finish line of something but just cant reach. Anyway, any help would be VERY much appreciated!! whether its .5 cents or whatever, I can give you my email, paypal info or whatever you would like. The only thing i can offer in return at this point is a big thank you and a picture if you want of my family -seeing who you helped (if you would want). I am a big believer in karma and paying it forward, when I get back on my feet I will be definitely be helping others. Thanks for taking the time to read this and god bless!

Help Pay Bills.,

Hiyaa, My Name Is Marinaa. I live in a small town in Michigan. Which sucks. I was just on the internet and found this. I thought, hmm why not?! I am 16 years old, with a single Mother raising me, as we all know Michigan sucks, and we are having a very hard time. I dont know much what to say,.. im not going to *beg* but just ask for some help. We are in a horrible situation because i myself also have many health problems ect. The money situation in very hard on all of us. I feel its my fault and am just asking for help. Thanks. Anything will be appreciated.
Hi, I am writing to see if there is anyone out there willing to help me and my family out with a one time loan. We will repay it. Until 5 days ago, we lived in Florida. My husband was hurt on the job back in November of 2010 and has been waiting on a Workman's Comp settlement (scheduled to be resolved on July 18, 2011); as such, he has not been able to work. We lost everything. My aunt helped us with the down payment for a 1998 cargo van so we could load up what little we have left and drive back to Michigan where my husband's family lives. They promised to help us but, now that we're here they refuse to do anything. We are staying in a cheap hotel and my husband and I are picking up scrap and turning it in everyday just to pay for the hotel room. All I'm looking for is a little help. I promise once my husband gets his Workman's Compensation settlement we will repay it. What we need is as follows: $450.00 to pay the insurance on our van and the car payment, $700.00 rent and $700.00 security to move into a house, $189.00 to pay for my husand's plane ticket to go back for his court date in July, and $349.00 to get my mother's wedding rings out of hock (I don't care about mine) but, we had to pawn both of our sets to pay for the gas to get us back to Michigan. If you add it up, I'm asking for a loan of $2,388.00. I swear I will repay it. I don't have a PayPal account so, if anyone is willing to help I'm not sure how it could happen but, I'm trying anything and everything to save my family. I know in my heart that once my husband gets his settlement we will be able to begin rebuilding our lives and pay back whoever is willing to help us after reading this.

I thank you so much for reading this.

hi everyone. i am a 21 year old girl from Michigan who moved away from everything i know to be with my boyfriend who is from Connecticut. despite all of my efforts i can not seem to get any type of job here and we now are both struggling to get by now, and to top it all off our rabbit just broke his leg and so besides worrying about paying rent and other bills, we have to take care of a vet bill, although my boyfriend does have a job it is not enough to support both of us especially now we have exhausted all resources either of us had and the bills are literally due next week. I am starting to become very fearful of having no other option then returning to my home state thus ruining my relationship with my boyfriend and my two beautiful rabbits all of which i love deeply. If there is absolutely anything that anyone can do for me it would be appreciated beyond words or i would even be willing to do some errands or chores for you to show how much i appreciate it. Thanks for all your help!

The thing is I dont have the money to go to her prom but I would really like to, I was wondering If you guys can put my story on the news and maybe someone can help me. I hate to do this and beg but going to my bestfriend prom would mean a lot to me. I have to pay for my dress, shoes, hair, nails, make up etc. If you could do this for me i would be very grateful..please, Im being honest. I just dont have the money
