Disabled Widow in danger of being homeless
Posted by Widow-in-need on 2012-04-10 02:58:40
Injured on my job 8/16/2005, fighting with SSA since Jan 2006 for SDI which is currently at the appeals court and I have 8 more months before they will decide. Husband passed away at a young age of 49 in 2009. I have no one to ask for help. Been living on less than three hundred a month and food stamps since injury. I am on section 8 housing. I have always managed to get the money to pay my bills through light cleaning or selling stuff at swap meets or on craigslist. No longer have a means to get stuff and take to swap meet and no sales or cleaning calls from craigslist. I am way behind on my bills and if utilities get disconnected I can lose my housing aid. I need new glasses as I can no longer see properly out of mine and I need a truck to be able to go to the swap meet again so I can earn the money to pay my own bills. As of now I need 2500.00 dollars to get caught up and get glasses and 3000.00 to 5000.00 to purchase a truck tag it and insure it. Having a truck will able me to make money to keep my bills paid were I won,t have to be here begging for someone to help me. I am very afraid with my disabilities and other health issues at becoming homeless and being alone. So please help with what you can. Anything you help me with is a blessing and I Thank you. May God bless you for your kindness

Truck gonna get repod soon. Phone getting shut off next week, hoping around from mom to dads to step brothers to friends house to have a place to sleep and eat. Aquired a camper. Not enough money to hook it up to truck or move it to a place I can stay. I get along well with people but you know how charity gets stretched I dint want to do that Objective

Every penny counts... please help. we are desperate.
Posted by RNinNEED on 2012-01-07 01:58:34
I never thought I would be on one of these sites. I worked very very hard to get to where I am today and now I am faced with losing it all.
We had a very difficult last couple of monthes, but manageable. I was sick for a month or so, nothing serious but enough to exhaust me. It all started with a minor yet very painful back injury. We, made a decision to purchase a friendlier mattress as my husband and I both work in intensive labor jobs and our bodies have taken quite a toll. It helps emmensely and although i was still sick, i was sleeping through the night. Recently married in August, we have about 10,000 in credit card debt, most of which is still paying for the wedding. Being suckers for animals, we took in an abandoned cat a couple monthes back.. she turned out to be pregant with behavioral issues. We kept 2 of the kittens, making 4 cats total, which is a huge adjustment. The damage to our apartment though is considerable. We figured by the time we decided to move we'd have the damages saved up as it is importnat to leave the apartment int he best shape possible. I knew we had stretched ourselves a little thin but I figured we'd be able to catch up in a couple monthes. After vet bills to care for the cats (a staggering $400) we were settling in to figure how to bring ourselves back on track. My husband's job puts him at risk for injury, as does mine. He was diagnosed with a hernia a week ago and meets with the surgeon to schedule the repair before it gets worse (it is already interfereing with his life as it is painful).
This morning my husband lost his job and I was put on notice. We cannot pay our bills. The timing is the perfect storm and we are desperaste.
We know we made poor decisions. This is too public a venue to truly explain How far we both have come in our lives, the obstacles we overcame to get here and how vehemently hard we worked to make our lives what they have been these last couple of years. There was a time I would not have dared to dream my life could be so blessed. And now, a few small mistakes could take it all away.
I am hoping to get a little money, any money really..to help offset our bills so that we have time to find another job. This website is my my desperate plea.
thank you

Veteran Needs Help
Posted by sboisvert180 on 2011-12-29 16:58:00
Marine Veteran and disabled needs help. My life could be a bestselling country song. I was an executive working very hard but suffered a divesting heart attack. Two, in fact. Tried to keep working but had no strength left. I was forced to retire. Also found out I had diabetes and didnât even know it. To make matters worse I have foot neurophy and clogged arteries in both of my legs. Want to make it worse? I have two large kidney stones blocking my urine so I am forced to wear a bag on my hip until the stones can be removed. The VA will take them out but not until my blood sugar meets their stringent requirements.
To make a long story short I lost my job due to the heart attack, lost my beautiful home because I had no job (sold all my home contents first to try and raise money to keep it â failed), lost my great F150 truck, and even lost my dog. The only apartment we could get didnât accept pets.
Thank God I am a Marine and learned to adapt and overcome. It has been three years but now I really need to ask for help. My wife and I have no insurance except what the VA offers (can't afford Medicare part B) and I already owe them $755 for co-pay on many medications. I have had to wait for a kidney stone operation for over a year now as they are booked solid for this type of operation. This operation, outside of the VA, cost approximately $1800. In addition I have numerous medical bills from my heart attack after care, diabetes and having numerous operations to remove two toes on my left foot. I sincerely want to pay these people as they deserve it but to do so I need help.
Please send whatever your heart will give. My wife and I will thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Sweetest Beagle in the world "Angel" Needs your help
Posted by beagleangel on 2011-12-24 17:58:51
Three years ago we adopted a beagle from the local SPCA. She was 27 pounds and had her ribs poking out. We got her upto a healthy happy 50 lbs. She has stomach issues, is timid.. But she is the sweetest girl. She comes up to everyone she meets sits and waits to be loved on. Doesn't bark at all. Wags her tail every time you talk to her. She runs to the door when it's time for a drive. Her favorite treat is beggin strips. Her favorite spot in the house is daddy's side of the bed.
She is in all matters our baby. I came home today to find her left shoulder swollen and she was having a hard time walking. I took her to the Vet ER. They shaved her and believe that she was bit by a spider. They are keeping her overnight. Giving her fluids, antibiotics, and pain medicine. Even though she is hurting, her tail is wagging.
The total vet bill is over 700.00 dollars so far. I will be picking her up in the morning. Over the past year we have pushed our credit cards to the limit. I was able to come up with the money. But now I don't have money for the rent. And the vet is expecting her to need more care over the next couple of days as the skin "sluffs" off.
My husband and I don't have any family to turn to. I have never begged for money. I've always been able to push through any of life's difficulties. I cried all evening that I'm unable to come up with any more money. Any help will go towards the 700 dollars that I've shorted my budget and to prevent bounced checks.
May God Bless you this Christmas.

Help Start A "Pay It Forward" Website
Posted by MrTechie on 2011-10-13 00:58:21
I am in the process of developing a new site that will allow people to register a coin for their cause, and then they will be able to track their coin and it's where-abouts online. Think "Where's George Meets Pay It Forward".
When a user registers a cause, they they pass the coin to someone else. That coin has a unique registration # on it, that the next user can use the # and record their where-abouts and their good deed.
I need to generate some money for coins to start the project. Would like to raise $500 for purchasing coins. If you would like I can offer a sponsorship page that says thank you to you or your business.
You can check out the site here:

Hope you can help out. Thanks for reading.

The Grasshopper and the Ant
A Classic retold by Joseph the Beggar King
Part One
Once upon a time, not so very long ago, there were two friends, the Grasshopper and the Ant. Why these two became friends is a bit of a mystery. The Grasshopper was a dreamer and a drifter. The Ant was a believer and an achiever.
In school the Grasshopper would look out the window without thought and only learned the subjects he found interesting. Sometimes he would fall asleep in Math class, other times when a angry teacher would jump him with a pop question he would give the correct answer in way that would confound them.
The Ant was a teachers dream, he soaked up every subject the system taught him, gave the correct answers in the correct way and got straight A s. He would delight his Math teacher by doing compound interest in his head. The Ant believed that what they taught him would help him succeed and was very completive. After graduating High School the Ant got an Academic Scholarship and the Grasshopper got a Pell Grant.
Within four years the Ant got two BS degrees in Business Management and Engineering. The Grasshopper dropped out after the first year. He went to live with the Rainbow Tribe for a few years. On the way to the bus station he found an old fiddle in a trash pile along the road and when he got station he was able to panhandle his bus fare. That was the Grasshoppers first beg.
The Ant took the College like a fish to water. During open Rush some Greeks invite him to be a brother in their Fraternity. He earned his dues by being the Frat Houses Accountant and made beer money by writing term papers. One day while visiting the Tri Deltas he watches the girls play volleyball and is amazed that even though they are playing a vigorous game not one of them breaks a sweat. It is there he meets the girl of his dreams, Polly Fishbane.
While the Grasshopper was living with the Rainbow Tribe he never meets the girl of his dreams, but it does not really matter too much because they believe in Free Love. So free, in fact, that after what you might call the Honeymoon he found himself getting a little bored with it. From the Rainbow Tribe he learns to live off the fat of country and from his new friend, Buffalo with Runs, he learns to live off the land. Buffalo with Runs was an very old Indian that was adopted by the tribe. He taught the Grasshopper what wild plants were safe to eat or use for medicines. He showed him how to set traps and hunt small game. Then, during one winter Gathering four people froze to dead because they were too stoned to come in out of the cold. The Grasshopper became very sad and hopped away.
The Ant is recruited by a Aerospace firm even before he graduated college and goes to work on the Apollo Program. He and his new wife Polly loved the Florida sunshine and settle down to start the American Dream. They decide to have two and half children. Even though the third kid looked a bit odd the Ant loved him as only a father can. With easy money down and mortgage tax deductions compliments of Uncle Sam, they get a house with a two car garage. Next they get two cars and the Rat Race is on. The Ant loves it! Working on the Apollo Program is more than a job, it is being part of history. Polly loves it! Raising their kids and Keeping up of with the Jones. She starts selling Avon products on the side. The Ant buys the best bass boat in the neighborhood, but only uses it once a year because he too busy working. He sets up his retirement funds and a small stock portfolio. Life is Good!
After leaving the Rainbow Tribe the Grasshopper panhandles his way across the country. He sets up in parks and subways where he pretends to play his fiddle while selling jewelry made of deer anthers and beads. The noise he makes with his fiddle sounds like a cat being killed and people give him money just to make him stop. Before the Cops run him off, the Grasshopper usually made enough in one day of begging to cover his needs for the week. When he is hungry he goes to a Soup Kitchen and when he needs clothing there are the Sharing Centers. Every now and then he lets some good hearted woman try to save him. Life is Good and he hops away.
The Apollo Program ends and the new Shuttle program does not start for a couple of years. The Aerospace company were the Ant works at does not win any of the new bids. They offer him a job in California at 20% less of his salary. Polly and the kids are in a rage. Nobody wants to move and leave their friends. The Ant sells his house at a loss because the real estate market in flooded by the laid offs. The one car and the boat are reprocessed. He sells off his stock portfolio for the down payment on the new house in California and even though money is tight the Ant decides to take the family on a short vacation to Key West to uplift their spirits. He finds the Grasshopper selling deer antler jewelry at the Front Street Market. While Polly and the kids go shopping, he and Grasshopper catch up and have a couple of beers. The Ant tells his friend about the laid offs and the move. The Grasshopper asks him - Are you Happy - ? The Ant says - Yes -. His friend says, - Good - . They watch the sunset and see a green flash on the horizon.
To be continue.

I moved to New York from Texas to be with my girlfriend about 2 years ago. Things are working out real well and we would love to move to Providence, RI to start our new life together but we simply cant afford to move there.
Living in New York City has been a culture shock for me (we live in the Bronx) and the stresses do not out way the positives. I really want to move but, we are just getting by with what little we both make, living in a dangerous area because thats all we can really afford.
Let's face it, relocation sux. It is the most stressful situation other than dealing with a loss of a loved one. Renting a U-Hul, paying for the gas, finding adequate affordable housing and securing 2 new jobs is going to be tuff, especially in Providences market. Providence may have its shortcomings, but it meets our basic needs.
Although this is going to be a task for me to commute back and forth (almost 4 hours each way) to try to obtain some footing; I am willing for the challenge to provide a better quality of life for both of us. Call me a Southern fool, but I want to do the very best for my girl, for our mental health, and our future.
Im not too proud to say that we need some assistance in getting there.
If you can even contribute a dollar, it would be greatly appreciated. We dont have any family that can afford to give us a loan, so we are giving this a try.
BTW: we are saving on our own; eating lots of spaghetti, toast, and rice. If we dont die from carbohydrate poisoning first we should be able to raise a good portion ourselves. We need to raise about $1500 more before our lease is up Feb 28th. All monies raised is going towards moving expenses, trust me .we are not asking for money to buy a new pair of fancy shoes or a new dress.
I know that this is a lot to ask from strangers especially, since there are other people with posts with more dire emergencies. Be that as it may, we still have our hope and faith that with your generosity, we can make this happen.
Thanks Yall
