I lost my job and finding one is difficult. We could not afford my car payment and my car was repoed. The motor in wife's car burned up and needs replacing, but we don't have the money to replace it. She is the only one with a job right now and it is difficult to get her back and forth to work. So each day is a struggle to get her to work between trying to borrow cars or get rides just to keep her job.

We choose which bill not to pay that month, just to have food in the house to feed our young son and buy him clothes because he is having his growth spurts.

The phone will soon be cut off due to non-payment and then how will an potential employer contact me for work.

We are behind on the house note again. Thank God for income tax returns because that caught up the past due house note and stopped foreclosure from the end of last year. But we are behind again and another foreclosure will soon be issued, just so we can feed our family, have utilities and a phone.

I saved up enough money for school but now it turns out I don't have money for living expenses. I get a work permit in November 2012, but by then I won't have any money for next year. The expenses for each of the two years is $17,000, and I saved up just for one year. I need help in making ends meet. I have been looking for work on campus and it's not working out since I was told to wait until August and September for cleaning jobs and restaurant jobs at the school. All the tutoring jobs I have applied for on campus have not materialized so far.

If I do not finish this school, it is over for me. I spent many years in the US in school since 2001, and it resulted in nothing because they didn't give me a work permit, and they did not allow me to stay.I got two bachelors degrees from there but since I did not have citizenship or a green card, I had to leave.

If I finish school here in Canada, I will get a three year work permit, and I can finally be useful to myself and my family. I need to pay back money that I owe my uncle for paying for my primary and secondary education back home in the third world. I need to educate, or at least pay for my niece and nephew who are orphaned to go to college. I need to take care of my sick mother, I have been unable to do that so far because I had to pay for my education in the US out of pocket.

I have other on going problems such as loss of sight in one eye but then that is something to be dealt with when I finally finish school, it is not as urgent as getting the money to pay for school. No matter how badly everything else is going, even with my mom being sick and my being unable to send her money for treatment, school comes first even though ideally it should not be that way.

I have been involved in community service for many years. I worked with DC Habitat for Humanity on a house construction project. I also worked with refugees from 2010 to 2011 before I had to leave the US, I was tutoring English through International Rescue Committee. I am currently working with the Food Bank where I am, and over summer since I will have no on campus jobs, I plan on getting more volunteer jobs so I can give back to the community. Canada has given me so much, a chance at self improvement, so it's only natural that I want to say thank you to this great country.

I am not scared of working, infact when I was in the US I worked full time while going to school full time. I do not want to violate the student visa here in Canada because Canada is a kind country for immigrants and they will definitely give me the work permit come November 2012, as long as I do not work illegally before then.

I am planning to move out of my homestay right now and rent with schoolmates in order to minimize my expenses. I do not usually even eat things like meat, milk, eggs, all of which I do not like or I am allergic to. So I do know how to save money. I learned to live on very little while in the US so I need money to pay for my education so that I can maintain my student visa.

Please help, my family cannot afford to pay for my education, I do not have citizenship from a developed country to qualify for financial aid or scholarships, the scholarships from back home are mostly for those doing masters degrees and PhDs, I'm doing an associates degree right now. They also insist that you must not have already left the country before they give you the scholarship. I will be applying for scholarships in the schoool, and also some bursary from my government which might be only $500, and that is only if I can get someone back home to bribe someone in the Ministry of Education to get that bursary.

I have tried all ways to improve my life for many years, and this time education truly will be a key to improving my life. I am not a stranger to subjecting myself to medical experiments in order to earn more money to pay for school. I need help this time around, this is my last try at improving my future. Going back home will be a disaster since I do not have tall relatives (people with influence) to get me jobs. What's the point of my adding myself to the millions who are dependent on others for help?

I was a employee of my previous company for over 10 years when after a merger I was laid off and given a joke of a severance package from them.

I have been looking for a new job for over 7 months now with no luck. Bills are piling up and I don't know what to do. I have offered services on craigslist.com and fiverr.com and have not really made enough to cover bills.

Well. Like many on here, I have to swallow my pride because I'm suffering and can't make ends meat. Back in December. I learned I had a leak on my pipes. When I rcd a $498 water bill, needless to say I was shocked. I work only part-time at a school helping special need kids and have one at home myself. They cut back my hours. there looking for ways to cur back schools budget. I was sacraficed. I get about 250 every 2 weeks. One month I will pay electric then next another. I'm always behind. My son has pdd Nos and is a joy but he suffers cause I. Can't take him anywhere or feed him foods he likes due to our low income. I have to pick him up every other Sundays 2 nhour drive from his fathers so food gets pasted so u can get my child. Oh I can't afford car insurance. I don't know what else to for. I would like to pay off KY divorce lawyer and get insurance and braces fir Michael and get rid of my bills. Water iou. $498. Rent $500. Lawyer. $2,000. I.surance. approximately 50 per month. I am A Vet with a wife and one child left at home. Last july I had a stoke that prevented me from working the last 5 months of 2011. My morgage got behind, i lost all my kitchen appliances, some other house hold stuff. I have been given the ok to return to work, but not what i was doing. I used to work 14 to 17 hour days. I am dissabled but i know theres others out there way more misfortuned then me. So i havent went to get an increase on my dissabilty. My husband was in a fatal accident on Dec 29th. He himself was not killed. A 41yr old mom and 16 yr old lost control of there car and slammed into the front of our truck which was are only vehical. It was paid off it was an older vehical but at least it was paid off. We are having a hard time dealing with the death of these girls and having a very hard time with catching up on bills. We both work full time Iam a cna and husband works in meat market. Hello .I am not going to beat around the bush . I am 55 a single dad . Financially I am strapped at the moment . I am so broke I had to use the free program on here .The 9 year old son and I have been living in this old run down home ,wasn't much be we called it home . well my daughter came home after a nasty break up with he cheating husband . Well the house was so old and drafty that it was impossible for me to heat the house . That wasn't so bad for us but my grand baby my daughters son 9 months old it was impossible to live in . So i took what little money i did have and rented a house that has a heater and running water . This took everything I had saved , now I'm so broke it hurts . Thing is i have no money to buy Christmas gifts for my 9 year old or grand baby . I would like to get my grandson a snowsuit and warm clothing for the winter because he has none and his cloths he has is beginning to get small on him and are summer cloths ,he is growing like a weed . Then I have my 9 year old son . Is is a bit physically slow due to asthma unable to play the same games physical other kids play I would like to get him some cheap computer or note book . Though his physical condition poor his mental capacity is great an all A student . I am very proud of him .

I am really struggling to make ends meat right now. I had £10,000 of Credit Card debt run up just paying bills and a few years of stupidity spending beyond my means.I have been slowly getting myself back on my feet. I have managed to get this debt down to £4600 as of 4th Dec 2012 by living on the bread line but I am really struggling to keep a roof over my head. I work full time and overtime to get by and really must remove this debt from my head to allow me to restart my life. I have fell upon some extremely difficult financial times from being stupid. im a 20year old female.ive been doing all i can to make the most out of my life. im tired and depressed and exhausted. i didnt finish my highschool education even though i should have pushed my self. but i never had any support from anyone. my parents divorced and my father was never around during my infancy. my sisters failed at there lifes as well. one raped and left pregnant at 16 and my other had drug problems and was literally at deaths doorstep at least twice as a teen.i haven't seen her in over 6 years. i experienced everything they went though and our family struggled so much. my mother was never around she only cared for her well being.left the family to find a man with money at one point to come back as a broken down women with no dignity. i dropped out of highschool at 12th grade and have been trying to get my ged but with how much it has been going up in cost its really hard to afford. i work two cities away with minimum waged job and live in a shitty apartment taking care of my brother and mother. barely make ends meat and im just frustrated with my how hard things have become. i want to higher my education to at least get a decent job that would improve my self esteem and also to give my brother the life he deserves. the life my parents never gave me. he is still young and doesn't understand most of whats going on.the worst part about the ged is that i live so far from the testing facilities so i try my hardest to find a center but transportation is a pain when most places are far away and i always have to take care of my brother whenever he is not in school. i need a car and just this test so i can at least have one chance to make things well, at for just this once i want to be able to not feel like an incompetent miserable fool.

I helped take care of my bed ridden grandmother till her passing...

all I own is a computer, a guitar and a amp that my father bought for me when I was 16. I don't have a mattress and I don't have a car.. I've been sleeping on a couch every night and I never feel well rested and I carpool to get to work. Thank you for taking some time to read my story. Today I found out that I had lost my job of eight years. Trying to stay positive in this economy. The last six months have been rough for our cats. In March we had to have Nick our black cat put to sleep because of kidney failure. his bills added up to $500. Then our cat Betty had to be put to sleep for a failing thyroid and her last bill was over $250. In June and July our Orange Tabby Rusty had to have blood work done and we found out he has FIP. That stands for Feline Immune Peritonitis. His bills added up to $500. My wife rescued a Silver Tabby. Her name is Bella and she is about three months old.Although she is a young healthy cat her bills have been shots and boosters adding up to $200. All of our cats have been strays that we adopted. We keep them in the house and buy the best food we can afford. Rusty really needs AD which is a prescription only diet and the cans are $2.50 a piece. compared to .50 cents a can for the other stuff that has meat by products which is euthanized cats and dogs. I can't bring myself to feed that to our cats.We love our cats, but the bills have been a bit much. Not to mention my car needs about $1000 in repairs for tires, brakes and struts. My last bill looming over me is $20,000 in student loans. Give what you can and our family appreciates your generosity very much.

Hello out there! I am 28, hoping to start a small, organic farm/homestead with my boyfriend, and I am looking for financial assistance in buying land and start-up costs. I have worked on a number of organic vegetable farms, selling both for market and CSA (community supported agriculture, where individuals or families buy a seasonal share and receive weekly boxes of produce). I have some experience with Biodynamic Farming (and intend to study it more), Permacultural design & philosophy, and natural building. I have the knowledge and will, and now I need the start up money!

Ideally I would like to grow medicinal plants (native & non-native) for seed and to sell as starts. I have some experience with this sort of business as well, and would probably start with some basics: lemon balm, peppermint, lavender, milk thistle, Echinacea, etc. We will also begin with a large vegetable garden to supply our own sustenance and to sell produce at a roadside farm-stand or local farmer's market (depending on our location). We will have chickens for eggs and meat, and, after a couple years, I hope to add goats and/or sheep, for milk, meat, and wool. I have learned to spin, and weave (on a four-harness floor loom), and felt, and I hope that we could add to our income with fiber and fiber arts created from our animals. Also interested in soap-making, but don't know much about that yet. Flowers are another potential crop.

We are looking to buy 10-20 acres, probably in the Pacific Northwest. We do have some money for a down payment, and this is a great time to buy property (low mortgage rates and low prices). Other start-up costs will be: building materials for a home, chicken coop, small barn, and fencing; seeds and potting soil; animal feed; fruit tree & perennial herb starts. I really just need to vent and can't pay to see a therapist right now. First of all I am fucked in the head. My mother was and is emotionally abusive. I was called a bastard, whore, slut, or bitch most of my life. Luckily I wasn't my sister because she gets called a retard because she has dyslexia and a learning disorder. One time my mother asked me when I was about 13 if I wanted to see a match burn twice. I said sure thinking it was a trick of some sort. My mom lit the match blew it out and stuck the match into the top of my hand. The skin built up like it was melting wax. Now that I am an adult I am trying to make things work. I have tried to pay for school on my own for years now having to take loans out every now and then. Getting not the greatest scores in school because I have to work to provide for myself and not getting any help. Even when I have asked. I should clarify my mom paid for a semester of books for me. My parents for some reason feel they need to help my two middle siblings and not the oldest or youngest, I don't understand. I have gone through a couple jobs. I had a job a few years ago that was helping me stay fairly stable and I lost it due to lay offs. I got into a financial hole then since my family wouldn't help and I had a hard time finding a job, and I enrolled in school. Since then I have been working a seasonal job that helps bring in half the bacon. Trying to get myself out of the hole slowly. The last couple years I have been trying to get out of the seasonal job, getting a job year round. Its been hard though since people won't hire me thinking I will be going back to the seasonal job. I collected unemployment the last two years in the off season, so I could make ends meat and try to finish school. Just last Friday the State is trying to get me for insurance fraud. So I have to fight that now too. This spring my car died and the only way to get around was bike or bus, I mostly rode my bike in 100 + weather. Since the bus schedule didn't work with my schedule. I saved a little money and bought and old motorcycle. Now that is starting to cost me more and more $, to keep it running. I have been trying to save money so I can by a car at an auction or something and everything keeps piling up, it feels like. I have to drop my one class this semester so I am better able to buy a vehicle so I can at least get myself to work. If I can find a job. When will things get better? When can I quit fighting so hard? When will my family help me? I am tired there are days I just want to give up. I just need to try harder.

My dauhgter has lost her job now things are evn tighter. She can not collect cause she was fired they say for stealing. She worked in a super market at the deli counter and she ate a piece of lunch meat cause she was hungry. They give out samples all the time to the customer and that is what she took but they call that stealing cause she works there. so now she is at home with us and my job has cut my hours I now work 32 hours a week to keep me full time but that just is enough to get my wife and I by can you please help a little any amout would help

I lost my job a year ago from the recession, and I've been on unemployment since. My unemployment has recently ended a few months ago. Since then, I've no money to pay my rent to shelter my 4 year old daughter or myself, our food has finally finished, we are pretty much living on crackers and potty meat and pipe water. Its been extremely hard for us. My daughter doesn't understand our financial situation and why we are eating the same canned food everyday, and she doesn't even understand or know that we are going to live on the streets in a few weeks. I've been looking for work, but I can't even afford to pay for daycare/childcare for my daughter. Hello, I am a 49 year old married, father of 5 beautiful children, ages 5-11 years old. Back in 2009 I had a great job as a route sales representative and everything was going along smoothly in our lives. Until one day while at work I bent down and tore my left medial meniscus in my knee. I suffered for 8 months before my surgery, till workers compensation settled everything.
I returned to work after 12 weeks and was able to perform my duties for around 13 weeks till my knee finally had enough. The doctor put some permanent restrictions on me of which my company could not accommodate.
I needed a profession that would supply for my family, plus one in which I was able to execute without any problems from my knee. So I looked towards the medical field. In September 2010, I embarked in a course of Diagnostic Sonography. I am getting ready to go into the meat of the program this fall, but now my workers compensation case has took a turn for the worse. It looks like the benefits will soon be subsiding and with the program I am in it will take about 60 hours or more per week . I am at my wits end trying to figure out what I can do to supply for my family and still accomplish schooling that will help us in the future. I have about 2 years of school left.
Some may say, “Why does not your wife go get a job”? My reply is always what are we to do with the children? The only family we have in the area is my mother who is 80 and in bad health. To pay a sitter would be quite expensive. So we are at a lost for what to do.
We student loans, but that isn’t enough to pay the bills. Also we don’t have any bills other than living expenses like rent and utilities; we don’t have credit cards or auto loans.
